You can never go wrong with this bakery :) I'm a huge fan! Service is good, many options of pastries, desserts, drinks and cakes! There is parking in the back and sometimes you can find street parking. It's a little loud inside but nothing too crazy. We were in the area and decided to stop by this location. Parking is easy to find, and it's a pretty spacious location that's not too busy. We went around 4:30 pm and they didn't have the biggest selection like usual but it was understandable because of the time and it was a holiday weekend. We ended up going with just a few of our usual pastries and for drinks, we got the iced pumpkin spice latte and sea salt latte. I wasn't sure how the pumpkin spice latte would be but it was surprisingly really good along with the sea salt latte! The pastries were all great too, as usual. read more

I like how this 85 degree location has a lot of bread and pastries available early in the morning. Some of the bread were still warm when I arrived. The bread are usually fresh and good. I've never had a stale bread from this location. They could improve by hiring more staff to make drinks though. I went during early rush hour and only one staff was making drinks, so the wait was long. I wouldn't suggest coming here for your cup of coffee if you are in a rush in the morning. I had the iced sea salt coffee and it was strong, but still creamy and slightly sweet. Parking can be tough as this location is in downtown Alhambra and there are only street parking and a tiny parking lot at a small shopping center next to the bakery. read more

Smaller than the old town Pasadena location, not as many places to sit and enjoy your coffee and baked goodies. It's more of a grab and go, and that's OK with me for my purposes. Lines are short and service is fast. I like buying little cakes here for birthdays so there's no left overs! They also include birthday candles and a chocolate plaque that has Happy Birthday printed on it. If you're thirsty they have drinks, rivialing nearby boba shops for pricing but limited on flavors. It has been years since I have visited this location. I like it as it has free parking in the back for retail customers. Very convenient. I was looking for their Cheese Dog or their Spicy Sausage rolls but no luck in the savory department today. I had to settle for sweet. I tried their Matcha and Red Bean cake roll. It was not too sweet and has a strong matcha flavor which I enjoyed. The cake was moist and the size was perfect for dessert or a large snack. I also got their Mochi Egg Tart which came prepackaged in a box of two. This was their usual good tasting egg tart but with a chewy mochi center. I liked the contrasting textures and the crust was flaky and buttery. The last item I bought was their Boroh Cream Danish. This is a classic item here. The danish was much like a Mexican pan dulce but with a milk butter and sugar filling. Not too sweet as well and I liked the slivered almonds used as a topping. Spacious and clean and right on Main Street in Alhambra. There is a retail parking lot in the back. Lots of breads and cakes selection. I love coming here to get birthday cakes for friends. They have seasonal specials sometimes. They also have an app to collect rewards points. The line can get long sometimes but the cashiers are quick and efficient. She was also very helpful with my cake purchase - offering a happy birthday sign and candles. I did have to wait a bit for my drink but there was plenty of seating inside so it was fine. read more

Soft and filled with awesomeness. gotta-try! We ordered the 8" Coffee Creme Brulee cake to celebrate my aunt's birthday. We ordered the cake to bring home and the process went smoothly. We picked up the cake from the store and the service was really good. They provided candles and a plastic knife, and boxed up the cake neatly. The cake was good, it was a coffee sponge cake with a pudding layer in the center, topped with strawberries and chocolate bits. The cake to frosting ratio was good, but I personally don't like too much frosting so I didn't eat all the frosting. The cake part was really good, very spongy and light with a strong coffee taste. My coworker bought the mango mouse cake for her birthday. This was probably one of the best mango cakes I've ever had. It tasted super fresh and delicious and the perfect amount of sweetness. Every bite was a nice combination of moist cake with and airy mango mouse cream and there were fresh mangos with lightly sweetened glaze and a light crunch and tartness. They have a wide assortment of sweet and savory breads--both standard and new creations. The coffee cruffin is sweet and doesn't have a too strong coffee flavor. The pork sung bread is sweet and savory at the same time from the white cream and pork sung. The jumbo coconut another sweet but flakey texture. 85 Degrees is a popular and trendy Asian bakery. It is arguably still one on the most popular chains in the States. At this location, there is a large parking garage in the back accessible from the side street. The store was very clean and much cleaner than comparable bakeries in the area. We came in 10 min before close and they still served us without complaint. Like most Asian bakeries in the area there is a self service section with numerous pastries and a glass case with refrigerated cakes and specialty desserts. On this visit we got a slice of the red velvet cake and two chocolate mousse type speciality desserts. The cake icing seemed like cheese cake but did not cause problems even though we are lactose intolerant. Both the cake and two types of chocolate mousses desserts we got were very good. The cake was a little heavier than other Asian style American type cakes but still lighter than straight up American cakes. Overall, we had a great experience here and would recommend trying them if you have not already. If you have been to this chain before, then you will like this location. read more

I've been coming here for..... a very very long time. Have had everything from their birthday cakes to every day pastries to their drinks. I miss the potato turnover they used to have - the croquette is great, but not the same. But in general, the pastries are solid all the way down. Drinks are also good, and for the birthday cakes, they give you a chocolate birthday piece and candles, and a plastic cutting knife. We were just here today, and were pleased to see that they seem to be offering more vegetarian options in their savory pastries department. More of this, please! I "heart" this 85 C. The bakery items are so good and the selection is always fresh. The cashiers are very nice and on thus visit, David, was especially helpful. They are running a promo now where you get a free 85C coffee mug with $25 gift card purchase. They had run out but David went to the storeroom and found another box. Woohoo! Always plenty of parking in the structrw behind the store. Do not park at the mini mart. The business owners are always watching and will not allow parking even at 8am on weekdays. read more

This manager or employee was EXTREMELY RUDE!!! I had a question about a cake I planned to order and tried to speak to the first employee I saw who was on her phone, she noticed me and proceeded to ignore me and go to the back of house. I asked another associate for their name and I believe they said Tuyong? Apparently a manager on shift. Not friendly whatsoever. I'm recalling a similar experience with them a few months back but didn't recognize them. Sad to see this is still happening but I hope cooperate can give me a solution. 3 stars I always come here for their milk teas. It's not exactly the best tasting or fancy-looking, but it's pretty solid. And price can't be beat! And they open early. It's either 85 or 7 Leaves when it comes to early opening times. Almost everyone else opens at 11am and beyond. For their milk teas, I think they use creamer. It has a thinner viscosity than some other tea places. Personally, I prefer a thicker blend, so I'll sometimes add sea salt cream on top. I rarely ever get their breads because it's too sweet for me. But when I do, I always get the ham and cheese. I would recommend this place if you're looking for a quick caffeine/snack fix. read more

I love the variety of bread they have, my favorites / must get are the red beans, Taro Swirl, Pork Sung, garlic cheese roll, and Hokkaido Cream. The bread qualities very good and consistent with the buttery texture. Prices are a little on the pricier side, from close to $2-3 per bread. Besides bread. there are cakes, drinks such as coffee, tea/ boba. I really like their sea salt coffee. For they cakes, they sell it by slice or the entire cake. The mango and tiramisu cake seem very popular, the mango cake is the only one I've tried and it was delicious. Staffs are great and the store is always clean and organized. This 85 is located on Main Street in downtown Alhambra with shared parking with the supermarket in the same plaza. I've been to this location multiple times and it's always clean with plenty of bread options available. Some of my family's go-to would be the brioche bun (rectangular shaped bun), the boloh series, ham n cheese and the marbled taro. The prices have gone up quite a bit due to covid, which I dont mind but I feel like the sizes of the breads/buns have shrunk as well. They offer coffee as well as boba tea drinks here. The boba is not the best in the area but prices are reasonable compared to other boba shops. Their sea salt series is pretty good and their milk tea is not bad as well. The drinks are on a sweeter side so highly recommend adjusting sweetness. Took down one star since I had to wait quite a long time to get my drink and to realized it was not made correctly.
