I don't know if I have ever been to an "amazing" buffet. I lower my expectation for Chinese buffets. I have been to 98 Pounds three times now, the past two times thanks to a Groupon-like deal. It is more expensive than your typical Chinese lunch buffet, but it does hav a nice variety and overall higher quality than I usually find. Each time I visited was for lunch on a weekday, and each time the restaurant has been busy. I was surprised by how busy it was at 1 p.m. on a Thursday afternoon. The food is better than your typical Chinese buffet. There was a variety of sushi, and it was delicious. There's a decent variety of other entrees, and most of it is fresh and tasty. Four stars is as high as I would ever rate a Chinese buffet, and this one comes close to that. I'd rate many Chinese buffets as 2 stars. I won't be going back any time soon, however, as I swore off Chinese buffets, among other things, as part of my 2012 resolution. If I was to choose any Chinese buffet, regardless of price or location, I can't think of one I'm immediately choose over 98 pounds. read more

So for the cheap buffet price I would say this place is worth it. I believe my meal with tip/drink was under $20. The sushi was ok at best but again it was cheap and all you can eat. Seems like the majority of people there were eating the crawfish...which i have not yet tried. read more

One reason you go to a buffet is there is always something you can find that is good. well..... I will say ALL the buffet was full. no problem with quantity. The sesame chicken was so soggy and nasty I actually went and got the crisp chicken for the sweet and sour chicken and put the sauce from the sesame chicken on it. I guess the wontons and egg roles weren't bad but the rest....I could leave. My coworkers didn't like the sushi. there are warnings posted if you waste the sushi you can be asked to leave - which I think is tacky. I get that you shouldn't waste it but if it's gross I don't want to eat it. They also went up and got a plate of fruit. they said it wasn't close to be ripe and couldn't eat it. Great buffet. They even roll sushi fresh which is awesome. I like the variety they have. It looks fresh and it's delish.

98 Pounds is definitely not bad for a buffet. We've been going there since the week it initially opened (we live close) and were very impressed right away. The food was always fresh and they had a good variety of items, especially stuff you don't see normally on buffets. The last few times we've been there, it seems like they may have let things slide a little (food wasn't as fresh for sure) but there are still good crowds in there. Overall, better than most of the Chinese buffets you'll find around for sure. read more

Gross!! My boyfriend and I were craving Chinese food and heard this place was good so we gave it a shot. Big mistake. I spent $35 to eat bland fried rice that literally tasted like nothing. The lo mein had a strange taste and the chicken was mushy. I'll eat the crap outta cheese wontons but these weren't even that great. And not to mention my upset tummy afterwards. I'd say this place is just okay. I come here a lot but I'm not really sure why. Sometimes the food is cold or stale, there isn't a huge sushi variety(although it is pretty good sushi for a chinese buffet), and the staff isn't friendly. This is the worst buffet ever. My family and I are regular customers here. Therefore, we got to see how this buffet restaurant changes over time. We stopped by for dinner today, and literally there was no food for us to eat. Everything was almost empty, and they did not even try to fill the food up at all. I was waiting for some fresh salmon, there weren't none. I often got to eat sushi twice per visit in the past, but now for an hour long, there was nothing for me. The restaurant was damn hot. No seafood options. This is the first time ever that my family and I did not get to eat crawfish there because what they had in the tray already were the old ones like from days ago. This is actually a nice buffet. It is a bit more expensive than most, but there is a nice variety. I am not a fan of Chinese buffets in general because I typically can't identify what the meat is in my stir-fry's and often experience an afternoon of running to the bathroom! I have visited this place twice and both times I felt I got my money's worth and liked everything I had, especially the sushi. I don't think they use much fish, probably because of the expense, but the sushi is fresh, beautifully presented with lots of variety. If you are just looking for a place where you can try a bit of everything, it's a good choice. The service is great, as they keep your dishes picked up and are very sweet. I like to come here for the sushi and add in some of the chinese buffet to fill me up. It costs more than I like for a buffet but it's a pretty nice one. Its always clean and the staff is nice. The chinese buffet is slightly above average, but has some more unusual selections for the American palette. I like to think I'll be brave and try something different but typically chicken out. It's nice to have the option though. Downers- crab legs alway run out or have a line of greedy people who pile stacks of them on their plates. I don't go for the crab legs so this doesn't bother me. If you want crab legs, this place is not for you. Also the sushi selection can be a little sparse at times but they will make more if you ask, so ASK. Also I noticed some of the reviewers who gave this place under 3 Stars still said they eat here a lot. Is that weird to you too? Bottom line -the food tastes good, selection is above average, the place is clean, staff is nice. 3 1/2 stars. I will return. read more

All-you-can eat buffet that features lots of typical chinese food fare. The sushi is constantly being made and kept very fresh. Everything is delicious. There are a number of servers who walk the floor to be sure that your drink is always filled and the used plates are removed by the time you come back to your table with your second plate. If u enjoy sushi this Buffett is for you the selections an quality can't be beat the price. However if u are going for only Chinese food it can be hit or miss. Dinner especially on weekends has s lot more variety and seafood and we haven't had anything we didn't like. However for lunch it can be a bit pricey and some of the Chinese dishes aren't that great. I don't get why everyone is so critical on buffets! This is one of my favorite buffets to be at, complete with an all you can eat sushi bar and an all you can eat buffet. Sure they could keep their buffet stocked a little better, but hey thats a specific employee's problems, not the restaurant's. All in all I think this is a great place to get Chinese. read more

I love sushi but can't say I've had it all. I've been to this all you can eat buffet a couple of times but always leave a little disappointed. In truth, the sushi tasted like it had been prepared with a water bubble in the middle of it. I really didn't like this watery taste ruining the flavor of the fish. To start with this place is VERY nice for a chinese buffet and if you like sushi you may like it but I DID NOT!!! The service is EXCELLENT, they have lots of people bringing you drink, etc. I eat out at chinese buffets 40 weeks a year every saturday the choice of different things is terrible, less than half of the places we usually go in St Cloud and at $12 per plate it is NOT cheap we pay less than $8. The food was ok at best and if the price was half of what it is I still would never go back!! read more
