I would have given 9th Island Grill minus 1000 stars if I could have. I will never order from this establishment again. I ordered through Uber Eats and when I received my order it was not securerd. 9th Island Grill had sent my meal unsecured meaning that the bag was not taped shut, the box was not taped shut, the driver had full access to my food and could have done anything he liked to my food and I would not had known what he did. The food was cold and there was something blue in the bag and nothing in my order was blue. I am very disappointed and when I called Britany told me they did not secure the order because they were not told to do so. Is it necessary for the customer to ask for securment of their order. I am hungry and angry because now I have food I will not eat for fear of something being wrong. Shame on 9th Island Grill for not putting the customer's safety first. read more

We've been to 9th island many times to order plates with bbq chicken, garlic chicken & chicken katsu. All we're delicious and cooked to perfection. This last visit we both ordered won ton mien as it was a cold day. We waited over 20 minutes for our won ton mien bowls. The broth was warm at best and flavorless. The won ton was good, but not traditional. The veggies, fish cake and char siu was good, but the cold flavorless broth ruined the experience. My wife couldn't eat it after 2 bites. I only finished about a third of it. 9th island's plates are good, but we will never order ramen or won ton mien from them. There are too many other better restaurants in this area. read more

My husband and I stopped to eat dinner and I ordered the loco moco and he ordered the chicken Katsu and garlic chicken. Wheni was ordering I asked the girl if the mac salad had fish in it and she said I can't be too sure. I said what do you mean? She said I can't be too sure if there's fish. I asked her you don't know what's in your food??? She said I'd have to ask the chef but the main chef isn't here today. Dude, all I wanted to know was if there was tuna in the mac salad because I hate when there's tuna lol. She said oooh idk if they use fish sauce or something. ‍ Anyways, my burger egg and gravy was very good considering I don't usually like gravy and I'm not sure why I even got it but again very good. My husband said the garlic chicken had way too much batter but the katsu was good. We both had to agree though that the rice was the worst part of the dishes. The spicy chicken was in chunks that was a bit bready, but tender. Perhaps a breast/thigh piece would be less bready. The steak was good, had good flavor. The only reason why I am giving 9th island 3 stars is because the food is AMAZING. But the customer service was a 1 star. Very disappointing, I ordered my food around 6:20pm told me it would be ready within 15-20 minutes when I arrived around that time my food was still not ready... okay understandable it was busy. But just observing the customer service was very disappointing. A customer who showed up who also ordered ahead his food was not ready as well, the young man who was working register told him "sorry sir we're really busy, i don't know what else to tell you" working in customer service myself you don't EVER tell a customer that. The young workers trying to get food prepped for customers did not acknowledge the customers waiting at the counter... my family being from hawaii and seeing that this is local owned probably need to feel that local customer service.
