I called A&E appliances and had talked to Darlene due to a problem with my dryer. She answered my questions thoroughly and professionally assigning a service tech to come out to diagnosed the problem with my dryer not heating in which he had replaced the heating element. He also recommended that the dryer duct be cleaned through to the outside , too much lint can cause a fire which is a no no ! Chris is great and super nice! He was on time and called ahead which was much appreciated. He explained everything thoroughly and showed me the problem. He also didn't talk down to me like many servicemen do who are explaining something technical to a woman. (This is the worst at car dealerships. When I'm the one who is going to make the final decision why are you explaining everything to my husband? I feel the same way about people who work in my home. If you are going to be an ****** then why would I call you back versus someone who is not.) In this COVID-19 madness, it took me months to purchase a washer and dryer and schedule delivery with a company that utilizes the repair services of A & E. After installation, my washer did not work properly and I panicked. I was assured by the company I purchased from that A & E will take care of checking on the washer and they sure did! Twice this summer (2018) I was told that the lawn mower / tractor repair would occur OVER ONE MONTH after my initial request for an appointment! Again, OVER ONE MONTH after my request ... and ... my grass continues to grow!!! Excellent customer service! Fast, easy and affordable. My Whirlpool washer went down a week ago and it's been hand-washing ever since. Until today! From the time the A&E Appliance company representative (very nice lady) called me to confirm my appointment to when the Whirlpool Technician named SHELDON arrived at our door, the process was painless. The price was very reasonable and it sure beats having to buy a new clothes washer and have it delivered and installed. I have Whirlpool Warranty service on my refrigerator. We had problems with the ice maker and dispenser. A&E Appliance was assigned the service claim. They contacted us to get a time that worked. Ray came out. He was very friendly, courteous, professional, and efficient at identifying and correcting the problem. I would not even give 1 star but there was not a choice. I live on Maui and A&E is the only "authorized" service company for Kitchen Aid appliances. I bought a new home with a Kitchen Aid microwave and oven combo. The microwave was under warranty and not working.. It took 3 months and many appointments (most of which they did not show). The last one they brought a part for a washing machine. What is wrong with this company, and how in the world do they stay in business? BTW, I never did get the microwave fixed, had to get a new one. So our year and a half old kitchen aid oven had the error code of death. Our warranty of course expired but our association gave us a&e appliance as a company to come fix/repair. I'm not certain why some of the reviews are low. When Edwin got here to look at the oven he was very friendly and when he knew he couldn't clear the error faults and would have to special order the circuit board, he went out of his way to look to make sure the part was covered by kitchen aid so we wouldn't have to not for it. Thankfully the electrical parts are covered for five years, but without his ground work we wouldn't have known that. Honestly we would have paid for the electrical board and labor just because it's cheaper than getting a new oven. I honestly wouldn't have added a star at all but I'm obligated to. This is the WORST COMPANY to have fix your appliances. I put in a work order on July 14 and still till this day they have not fixed my dryer. Let me start from the beginning though. So the first time we were scheduled I had already been waiting a week then the guy doesn't show up to my house from the scheduled time from 8-12. He said that he came to my door and knocked and no one answered (which btw is a load of crap) because I had been waiting in my living room ALL day & heard no such thing. So I get scheduled again in another week and the guy tells me the parts gonna take a week! A week after that another tech comes and says "oh the other guy ordered the wrong part, it's actually 5 parts that need to be ordered which could take 3 days for 3 of them but the last one could take up to 10". By this time I'm livid I had already been waiting and now I have to wait longer cause one of their techs were to stupid to order the right part!!! and to put the cherry on top I've told them time and again how I'm so unsatisfied! And they didn't even have the decency to show some customer service and push me to the top of the list to get fixed instead they say I got pushed back down the list because "I" missed the first appointment!!! (When the guy "mysteriously rang an knocked on my door) I can't believe this company and I'm planning on taking further action! I just want to let you guys know so that this doesn't happen to you! I believe customer satisfaction should be on every companies top priority but clearly they DONT! What's even funnier is their slogan is " Fast, efficient service" but from reading my review you should know that's completely false. Provides the worst "customer service" ever and are so unprofessional. Our washer is under warranty and had to be serviced. However, the parts had to be ordered. It went from, "Oh we have express shipping & the parts should be in on Monday" to "Oh it won't be in till Thursday". The only reason why we caught wind of the change in delivery, was because we called. Unfortunately, they can't take time out of their busy schedule to call their clients and let them know this even after leaving a message on their voicemail. So, finally, the technician arrives. I only noticed that he was in my backyard from his reflection on the TV. He never knocked & decided to walk out. I had to run to get his attention. As he is taking our washer a part, we ask him if the parts that were being replaced were covered by a warranty, after all, they are new. He goes off and says that we need to call the office and "Tell them to put it on there." Umm.. put what on there? It's simple.. it is or it isn't. Apparently, the technician has some comprehension issues. We went around in circles with him before my hubby had to use a scenario for him to understand what we were asking. How do they train their employees? LOL! "Oh he is a professional." He may be a pro in fixing appliances, but definitely not professional and a horrible representation of the company itself. I think the owner needs to reevaluate customer service at all levels & different scenarios. Then, as I am speaking to my husband about how the company could work on their customer service skills due to the experience we've had with them, the technician takes what I said personally. Mind you, I was referring to the company. He packs up his things and said that he is not going to repair the washer. OMG! I looked at my husband and say "you've got to be f*c*ing kidding me." Again, the technician took that as a personal attack on him..haha!! Okay! He also said I was yelling at him. Okay, buddy! I think your hearing is a tad sensitive! I was definitely not yelling at him, otherwise, my dog would've been barking and protective. I guess using a stern voice is considered yelling. Get a grip! So, my husband calls the office to give them heads up yet the phone goes unanswered. Awe! The service technician was on the other line whining and telling a totally different version of what happened. Finally, my hubby gets thru and speaks to the office supervisor who is of no help at all and a complete joke. Where did they find her? Haha! Even she said I was yelling when I was using an extremely stern voice & had then had the audacity to ignore me & talk to someone else in the background when I was trying to explain the situation to her. How rude! Defend what you consider good business practice and outstanding customer service, but where I come from, the type of customer service provided by the office staff & technician who came today, is unacceptable & would be just reason to have a meeting with employees to remind them of the value of providing true customer service and core value of the company. And, most especially when a client is complaining. They apparently don't even know that each employee is represents the company as a whole. To say the least, doing business with A & E Appliances has been a rude awakening to the poor attitude and lack of skills when it comes down to providing excellent customer service. And, a reality that they don't believe in resolutions. If you want the run around, enjoy poor customer service, then this is the company to deal with. Otherwise, I say take your business elsewhere because we as customers deserve much more than this company will ever be able to provide. read more

Very unprofessional. Might as well not even leave messages on their voicemail as they don't call you back. Had to replace a fuse on my GE microwave, and found these guys at the recommendation of GE. Later found out they have an F rating from the Better Business Bureau. They also like to stack service fees. For example when the guy came out and took the microwave off my wall, there was a cost there. Then he shrugged his shoulders and said he doesn't have the fuse but will order and replace it - same fee since he didn't have the part. Since I myself needed to help him remove the microwave (took about 1hr of my time) and wouldn't be there next time, and my wife was pregnant, he asked if he should bring two guys next time. Surprise! Come to find out bringing 2 guys costs more money. Frustrated, we decided to just have them drop of the fuse (again we have already paid the service fee, which for the moment amounts to someone coming into my kitchen, making me stand there for an hour, taking the microwave off the wall, and putting it in our garage). The current plan is that I will install the microwave with our handyman - really not tough at all, just need someone to hold it while the screws are replaced, but since their hours are 730-4 M-F only, I have to work. So far, it has been 2 and a half weeks waiting for some supposedly special fuse, but despite calling nearly everyday and leaving messages the only hope I have of contacting them is if they happen to pick up the phone when I call. When waiting for the parts to come in to fix my dryer, he made sure to stay in touch with me and let me know step by step on what's happening and what to expect. My dryer with extended warranty stopped drying. After making one phone call I was transferred to A&E Appliance. Made appt for service between 8-12 today. Sheldon called about 5 minutes before his arrival about 10:30am. He was efficient at diagnosing and replacing the fractured heating element. He showed me the broken coil and compared it to a lightbulb burning out. He vacuumed the dust and lint around the motor.(with my vac) I mentioned my leaking air valve on my dishwasher. Bonus!!! He quickly snake out a plug and now it works like a charm without water leaking! I would definitely recommend Sheldon and A & E Appliance for future appliance problems. read more

This company is super unreliable. I'd give them 0 stars if I could. I needed two things fixed, an element on my stove, and the mechanism to dispense the ice in my freezer. A repairman came over a month ago to assess the needs of the appliances. He told me someone from their office would be in touch bc they had to order parts. I was given a quote of $333 about the 2 things I needed parts and service for. Once the parts came in almost 3 weeks later, I got a call letting me know they arrived and someone would be there in a week to fix my oven and freezer. Fast forward to the actual appointment, now at a month later and the repairman who was great by the way only comes to do the stove. No one provided him with parts or workorder for a freezer. I called the office and they apologize for the inconvenience and misinformation I received. I pay $142. The parts for the freezer Still hadn't arrived. A week later I get a call to now service the freezer now that the parts have arrived. I ask for confirmation of the balance and I'm told the original amount of $333, Not the price minus what I already paid for the stove repair, $142. They tell me the price they're confirming as the balance was for the freezer alone when I was told that was the original amount was for both the freezer and stove. They give prices and misinformation over the phone, switch things up on you and take no accountability. Make sure you get prices and quotes in writing (which they told me they don't do) so they can't lie and tell you they never told you that price or say they didn't get a part that thrust told you arrived. read more

The RUDE girl on the phone told me that they still don't have a GE repairman so they ignored the service call. No one contacted me to tell me this. Five service calls on a Whirlpool dishwasher in 2 months. Still doesn't work and because these guys didn't submit tech notes to Whirlpool. They won't replace it without another service call. Also, they have rescheduled my appointment every time - sometimes up to a week and a half later- saying they are shorthanded or overbooked. First of all, the repairman that came to the house was fine - courteous and empathetic of the problems with the fridge (two visits for the same problem - a design issue) However A&E has unbelievably poor customer service. I took 1/2 day off to wait for the tech who said they would be here between 1 & 5. At 4, I called to get status and was told "absolutely" the tech would be here today. I called at 4:30 and was told by another agent that they never make that guarantee. I asked to speak to a supervisor and was told that none were in. We got an appointment with A&E Inc. through Lowe's Advantage Program. After reading the reviews we were reluctant to have them fix the Ice maker on our Electrolux refrigerator. Our technician was a young man named " Chris Trelli". He was on time and within a few minutes he told us that he had to order a part for the Ice maker and it would take a week to get it. A week later he called and again he was on time and installed the new part. Our Ice maker is working like new and we are very happy. Chris is a very pleasant and outgoing young man. Horrible service, no response, do not keep promise Our Maytag microwave stopped working. I wanted to be kind to our earth, so I scheduled a service. A&E Appliance is the only " authorized " repair service in Hawaii. No choice. I received a confirmation online. I called A & E Appliance to double check my appointment. No one answered. I left message but no one called me back. Then, A & E Appliance called the morning of the scheduled day and said they could not send a technician. I took a day off from work of course. The next day, a technician came. Of course he could not fix the microwave. He did not have a part (fuse). I paid $64 for him to come out. He said that A & E Appliance would call me with the estimate. Guess what A & E Appliance never called. I called A & E Appliance everyday for three days. Every time I called, A & E Appliance said they would call me back later that day. Guess what, No one called. Finally, I became upset and demanded someone to call me back within a few house. So a lady called and she said getting parts would takes 7-10 days. I asked how much. She said she did not know. How unprofessional !!!!!!! On top of that, they were going to order an additional part, not just a fuse. The lady thought parts alone would cost more than $150 and A & E Appliance would charge the labor, too. That would be more expensive than buying a new microwave. I gave up. I will buy a new microwave. My lose: : $64 for a technician to come out to diagnose I took 2 days off from work 4 frustrating phone calls 7 frustrating days Maytag has to find other companies to be their "authorized " repair service companies. read more

We had a part for our range replaced by A & E Appliance a couple of years ago. When I called them to reorder the same part, I was told they don't keep records (Red Flag #1) I gave her the model and serial number of our range so they could reorder the part. The representative took my phone number and said she would call back. She never did. I have since called a few times and am always told they will call me back. They never have. I was apprehensive when I saw the reviews for this business as my Whirlpool warranty required that I use them to repair my refrigerator which had multiple issues. I was pleasantly surprised by the courteous & responsive help I received. Techs who responded (Stan & Chris) were polite, knowledgeable, and efficient. Those I dealt with on the phone were likewise, pushing up my appointment when I was freaking out about water pouring out from under the fridge. Apparently there are design issues with this refrigerator. Luckily it was under warranty & A&E honored that-no problem. I never expected an appliance to fall apart so soon. A&E was great.
