To our general horror, this Saturday we discovered thousands of bees decided to swarm one of our trees and over a matter of a few hours, had grown to a dangerous-looking basketball-sized clump of solid bees, nestled in the crook of a branch in a tree next to our upstairs bedroom window. We called the city and found out that since it was on our property, it was our problem and up to us to find a pest-control company to get rid of the bees. Called couple of places and they would not do the job or their price were crazy. One told me it was not an easy job and they would pass on the job. The other place looked at the job and gave me a crazy price and I told them thank you but NO thank you. I called Dave and he showed up at the job site on the same day, started the job the same dat, but could not finish it as it got dark and told me he would have to come back and complete the job in couple of days as he was busy the next day. Dave was simply the best! I woke up to what seemed like just a dozen swarming bees entering our hot tub enclosure. Great :( Now what? I read some reviews for beekeepers and the top one for this particular company caught my attention. Dave's wife was very helpful on the phone, and maybe an hour or so later, Dave called to schedule the visit. He arrived maybe an hour or two later, and so within, say, 3 hours, work was underway. I shadowed and conversed with Dave about the bees and his craft, all while he geared up and started the removal. He safely removed what ultimately seemed to be hundreds of bees, and voila! Problem solved. Dave has clearly done this before!! Oh, and the rate was quite affordable, another pleasant surprise. I had an excellent and enjoyable experience today with what I thought was going to be a pain-in-the-neck-and-wallet problem. Wow! BeeMan came out the same day I called. He got to our house early, before I was home from an appointment, but another family member showed him where the wasp or hornet hive was. I cannot say enough good things about A Bee Man! We came downstairs one Sunday afternoon to discover 6-7 bees in our house and more swarming around our chimney! Originally I had contacted a separate company and was quoted a price, but then they tried to do a bait-and-switch last minute and charge more money. If I could give SIX stars for David I would. This guy was amazing! I was looking for somebody to remove the bees at my house. I wanted somebody who was 1) affordable and 2) wouldn't kill the bees. We got waaaaay more than that with David. He was VERY affordable (I called around) so I thought he would be in and out in a hurry. But he wasn't. He was very patient collecting the bees. He explained everything he was doing so that my kids and I wouldn't be worried. In fact, he was so interesting that the neighbors came by with their kids and he took the time to show everybody each step of the process. You can tell he takes pride in his work and wants people to have a better understanding of bees in general. He told the kids stories about other jobs he's been on and showed us some cool pictures and videos. He collected all of the bees from my house alive and they haven't been back since. Yay! If you need somebody to remove your bees or wasps I HIGHLY recommend A Bee Man. Even if you don't have bees, maybe you can hire him to talk at your kid's school! While they may be fine for bees, wouldn't recommend them for wasp removal. Noticed a full nest in the eaves above the garage, next to an empty one (perhaps from a previous season?) and, thanks to the nice review here, called A Bee Man. They get kudos for quickness, yes, and the lady on the phone was very nice; however, the young man who actually came was taciturn and didn't behave as though he wanted to be doing what he was doing (anything but). He quoted the price ($135), suited up, then pointed the bug spray upwards. The wasps all stopped immediately, but the poison dripped all over the patio. He knocked down the old empty nest, but left the new one where it was (?!?). I asked him if he wouldn't please take that one down, too, but he said, "Don't worry, they're all dead anyway. They won't come back." He picked up the nest fragments and put them in the trash, but didn't clean up the patio any further (leaving poison and dead wasps). I had to hose it all down myself later, as I didn't want my dog anywhere near it. (Frankly, I didn't want to be near it!) Well, three days later the wasps were back. Per their 30 day guarantee, I called to have A Bee Man re-do the work. Again, the lady on the phone was very nice, asked which worker it had been, and promised to send someone out to do it that day. No one came. I waited another day, left another message, and never got a return call. read more

Called this vendor after seeing his truck heading south on the 405 one morning on the way to work and checking yelp. I saw the favorable reviews here and proceeded to schedule an appointment for last Saturday for between 11 a.m. and 12 p.m. I called at around 11:15 a.m. on the morning of my appointment to confirm and was told I would receive a call back, which i did, over an hour later. I was told that the tech "lost track of time while at a previous job" and that it was "difficult to reach him" because of cell connectivity issues. An appointment later that day was offered to me but I had other plans so rescheduled for the same time this Saturday and requested a call on Friday to confirm which was agreed to. Called him for what appeared to me to be a small collection of bees on the side of a tree. He came on the same day and at the scheduled time. Upon his inspection, the problem turned out to be much larger than either of us expected. The hive was an approximately 3 - 4 foot deep cavity within the tree.
