Well...it turns out it wasn't the unit. It was a plumbing issue and they still helped me pin point the issue - no charge. They texted me a you tube video so I could fix it. It's so hard to find companies you can trust, but Rey's has proven themselves. They are always giving back to the community as well. West Sac or surrounding area - just call Rey's first.

I have been really skeptical of all HVAC companies in the past 5 years. I have been burned by so many HVAC techs and wasted so much money. 4 different companies went through with different shadiness levels giving me different answers for the same HVAC issue. Every company kept telling me my freon was low and i most likely had a leak. One company even told me to just replace my brand new system cause "it was from China" The Jaguar tech (Jeff) definitely gave me some disappointed head shakes at previous work but was the only one to truly put his head down, work, and diagnose the root cause of the issue. He checked every part of the system before he gave me an answer on what he believed was wrong. After the diagnosis he detailed every part of the HVAC unit (and attic unit) and explained to me what he was looking for, what he found, and what he believed was the answer. I never felt like he was up-selling me. It wasn't even a freon issue to begin with and the filter drier needed to be replaced. After another visit and a 4 hour procedure my HVAC unit has been running smoothly all Summer 2026. I will seriously only call this company from now on.

The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is that I didn't receive a call with an estimate or breakdown of what was needed before the work was performed. Overall, though, it was a very quick and seamless process.

They sent Thomas out to take a look, he was very up front about the condition of the unit and advised that there was alot of issues, which we totally get. He was very thorough and took a lot of reference photos and explained what he was doing. We agreed to look at getting a new system and set up a meeting with Kyle for later the afternoon. Kyle was also amazing and went over the pricing and options, you never want to pay for a new AC unit but it's a necessity here so and they made sure we had a great deal. I then asked him what was his inspection/tune up process and he expressed the perfect inline procedure I had previously looked up on my SmartPhone. He went directly to work and I was shocked after completion that he had taken pictures of his every move and test stats and he also laid a tarp down when getting into the attic. When speaking after the fact my wife were very impressed with his knowledge, he spoke slowly, explained and answered all our questions in detail so we could easily understand. A very professional, honest, conscientious, hard working young man that we would have in our house again.

We liked the system so much that I had them install a new heat pump in our rental unit. Unfortunately we had a part that needed replacing 18 months later. Airmech promptly came out, determined the problem, ordered the new part and had the system working again within a few days. The replacement part was covered under the warranty. Alex, the general manager personally reached out to me and worked out the labor costs. Their customer service is excellent!

The service technician Christian arrived on time and courteously introduced himself and his service procedure. He used a handheld meter to measure pressures and other important data about the unit's performance. He showed me the results on his meter: a loss of pressure, probably because of a coolant leak. He laid out my options and answered my questions. After getting my approval, he replaced the missing coolant and added a dye kit that would help find the leak. He also mentioned the dye kit included a sealant that might close up any small leaks. After adding the coolant and dye kit, the HVAC unit quickly brought interior temperatures down. Short-term problem solved. Christian explained that AirMech offers a maintenance plan that I should consider. It pays for regular inspections and provides a 15% discount on the work he had just completed. I opted in. The money I saved that day will more than pay for a whole year of the maintenance plan. A couple weeks later, I called AirMech again to have them inspect the lines to look for leaks. Christian was my man again. He arrived bright and early and performed a visual check in the attic. Then he hooked up his meter to the outdoor HVAC unit. He showed me the results and interpreted them for me: all readings are in the "ideal" range. It looks like the dye kit with sealer did its job. And because I had opted into the maintenance plan, there was no charge for the visit. Long-term problem solved. AirMech's staff operated with professionalism and integrity. I will call on them for my future HVAC needs. And I hope I get Christian again!

Two word review: Honest, Responsive…read more This is my THIRD consecutive 5-star review for Rocklin Heating & Air. In the last 10 or so years in the area I've called RHA, one other place because they could get me to faster - had a bad experience, waited for RHA had an amazing experience, and decided they're going to be my ride-or-die for HVAC. I called them at 7am and by 11:30am their tech had fixed and tested everything and off to help someone else. Yesterday was the start of a heat wave and ... our AC unit quit on us. I called RHA as soon as they opened this morning at 7am, asked for Joe in particular, and they gave me a window between 10am and 12pm. Joe texted ahead of time at 10:30, diagnosed the blown capacitor, swapped it out, cleaned things up a bit, tested the coolant, answered a bunch of questions, and was on his way in just under an hour. The diagnostic was $129 and the capacitor was $186 today. By a complete and total coincidence, I had been running some experiments with home temperature sensors for the last week. You can literally see on these pictures exactly when the AC unit stopped working - and when RHA saved our bacon. The "other" place I called years ago only had a $79 diagnostic charge, but wanted to rip out and replace the entire HVAC system - and claimed we were taking our lives in our own hands by not getting it fixed with him immediately. Joe and RHA took care of everything for the diagnostic. Yeah, you can probably find someplace to charge you less for the diagnostic or maybe less for the part, but when your house is boiling hot / freezing cold, you want to be able to call on someone you can trust to help you out - and not take you for a ride.

They were able to get someone scheduled immediately for the next day! So, earlier this morning, our technician (Frank) called with a heads up for his arrival and showed up right on time. He was very polite and got to work right away. Turned out to be a bad capacitor. Frank had everything we needed in his truck and was able to swap it out in no time. Now our A/C is working great again!! Thank you so much! Glad I found you guys on Yelp!

He was friendly, professional, and took the time to patiently explain what needed to be fixed and why. We really appreciated how respectful he was of our home--he wore booties and made sure not to track anything in. He kept me updated throughout the whole process and got our AC running perfectly again. He was really good at estimating how long the process would take, which we really appreciated with our busy schedule. Highly recommend!

It's been a month since the installation and everything is working great and even better, quietly. Our contractor grade condenser we got with the house 23 years was noisy! Love the new, quiet design and it's even got a small footprint like the original so we didn't have to relocate it. We're very happy with the service and quality and would work again with Airmech.

I met with the owner Mathew McGuire, who I found to be friendly, sincere, and someone who is vested in his business, his people, and working to ensure that he wins life-long customers with every job. I had done a lot of research with AI, so I knew my options well (that research was very helpful and I'd highly recommend doing it in advance of having people out to give you pricing). I had no intention of beating up each of the companies, I simply asked for their best pricing and options. I used AI to carefully review each bid in detail, including the proposed equipment and how appropriate it was for our home. All companies gave solid bids, but there was a very large spread between the highest and lowest. That usually concerns me, but all my research about American Energy indicated that they were a solid, competitive company. It was a big investment, but I ended up converting to an electric heat pump and also getting all our ducting replaced. We have a 2750 sf single-story home with 17 vents, so the new ducting was nearly as much as the system itself. That said, the ducting has made so much difference in terms of balancing the temperature throughout the house, which was a real probelm with the old system. The new system is extremely quiet and maintains a consistent temp throughout the day--and we've had some extremely hot days since it's been installed. American Energy's installers were all very friendly and professional, and did a great jobs with prep and clean-up each day they were here (the initial install took two days). There were a couple minor issues after the install was complete which required two follow-up appointments. One was a equipment issue that required Carrier to provide a replacement part, but Carrier was responsive and quickly provided it. For the additional follow-up appointments, their scheduling person as professional, courteous, and accommodating. In fact, she went out of her way over a weekend to re-schedule an appointment that was supposed to happen on a Monday morning. To me the company has to be a good one to A.) get that kind of diligence out of employees, and B.) to keep those kind of employees. In the end, I'm extremely happy with the system and will gladly subscribe for their annual maintenance contract.

Very disappointed with American Energy Home Pros…read more Our AC went out, and we called American Energy Home Pros to diagnose the issue. We paid a $100 inspection fee and were told we needed a new indoor fan motor. We were quoted almost $1,565 for the repair, and they didn't have the part available but said they could order it. Before agreeing to the repair, I decided to get a second opinion--and I'm very glad I did. Frost Energy Solutions came out and diagnosed the same issue. Josh replaced the same motor for $775 TOTAL, including the inspection, and even topped off our Freon. That's nearly an $800 difference for the exact same repair. I understand companies have different pricing and overhead, but I felt the original quote was extremely high, especially after finding another reputable company willing to do the same job for almost half the price. I would definitely recommend Frost Energy Solutions and Josh. He was professional, honest, fair, and transparent about the repair and pricing. In this economy, that kind of integrity means a lot! Do yourself a favor and get a second opinion before paying a high HVAC repair quote. We're very thankful we did!

Preston arrived and quickly diagnosed the issue. At least within 5-10 minutes. Capacitor had gone bad. Didn't take him very long to get it replaced. He is very knowledgeable and patient.. I asked all about how we could better maintain our unit because I know very little about HVAC maintenance and he took the time to explain how to properly clean the unit to help maintain it. I'm very grateful Preston decided to come out and help us especially with his day as packed as it was. I will be using Bishop's in the future for all my AC needs.

There was some miscommunication after rescheduling though and they still showed up on the original date, but it worked out since we happened to be home. Other than that, the service was smooth and we liked how transparent he was. He gave us an alternative option to fix our AC while staying within our budget, which was extremely helpful so we are so grateful for that! Will definitely be keeping their card handy for any future fixes but hopefully won't be any for a while!

They've worked on my 2017 Ford Transit Connect, 2014 Mercedes GL63, and 2014 BMW X5. They replaced a driver-side CV axle, did oil changes, replaced brake pads and rotors, diagnosed and fixed an A/C and heater blower issue, repaired a trunk/liftgate problem, and also replaced a valve cover and gasket and battery. What stood out to me most was how knowledgeable, honest, and fair Samson and his team were throughout the process. The staff are friendly, the front desk is welcoming, and the customer service has been great. It's hard to find a shop that does quality work at reasonable prices, but 916 Auto Repair has done that for me. Definitely recommended.

My AC Drier was cracked and inoperable since last year. In this region of the Sacramento Valley and Placer County, 916 Auto quote beat 5 shops I contacted in the region and 1 shop even told me it's not worth it and I should get a new car. Bet if my car was a 69 Camaro, they'd do it. Why? Cause its a Classic Camaro. No matter the condition. Some shops don't want to work on Imports. But oh well. Their loss, not mine. I contacted 916 Auto and spoke to Samson to schedule an appointment and he said to come by that very same day. And so I drove from Roseville to Gold River that morning. Samson is honest & to the point. When he pulled my car in, he noticed a coolant leak. Now I didn't notice any leaks in my driveway, as it would seem the Coolant is evaporating or dissipating, but he notice it was getting on my Alternator, by the stains. It turns out, my OEM water pump (factory part since 2003 for this model year in 2004) finally gave out at 262K miles. Who'd ever think a Mazda/Ford part would last this long. This was an unexpected thought as I only had budgeted for the quote. So I called my CFO (Wife) and let her know of the issue. She said get it fixed and she'll adjust other expenses as she knows I need AC for the upcoming summer temps. So I authorized Samson to proceed with the entire job. Now I can't couldn't do any price comparison, but he did give me a discount which still fit in my overall budget. I spent my whole day in their lobby. They have updated their lobby to make it feel more comfortable and less Auto Shop feel. I notice the many people who drop by to have their car service are all happy and are returning customers. From a Dealership oil drain plug that was torqued too tight, to oil changes, brakes, and even a customer who was a bit upset where the Dealership sent the wrong part twice. The Dealership. I spoke to many of them and they all had the same answer when I ask. "What made you come here?" They replied, "Their price can't be beat!". In summary, my AC is now working as it should. Now I only used my AC for 2 whole days It gets cold and it has been awhile since I have felt cold in my aging car of 22 years. With my new water pump installed as well, my car is running smoother overall. Smoother shifts, heater gets warm fast. Almost, now almost like it was in 2004. So, Did I find a new shop for my Project Commuter Car? Yes I sure did. They have gotten a new customer. Up next is my Transmission Gasket & plug. One thing at a time! He inspected them and showed me how each one was clean, dry, and completely fine. He then inspected the rest of the engine compartment and the undercarriage and showed me that it was all in great shape. Finally, he noticed that a previous mechanic had removed the plastic shroud for my front wheel wells and failed to install new clips to secure the shroud afterward. I had wondered about the gap he noticed for years, but I didn't realize it was anything other than wear and tear. He replaced the clips for no extra charge. I know it seems like a small thing, but to me, it speaks clearly to Roland's character: I believe he genuinely cares about doing right by his customers and taking good care of their cars. When I asked him about some issues with electronic parts on my car (e.g. a digital dashboard display), he let me know that his area of focus was mechanical service and advised me to take my car to an electrical auto shop. I was grateful that he knew the limits of his expertise, communicated them clearly, and stuck to them. I felt his quoted price was quite reasonable, and even after he performed more work than requested (still within about a 1-hour time slot), he stuck to his original price quote. I am very happy with the service he provided and the price I paid! I would hire him again in a heartbeat.

Rolland came to my house and went straight to working on the fuse box without having made sure the…read morehigh voltage system of my Prius C was disconnected. Major red flag #1. He spent 40 minutes prying at different parts and trying to forcefully remove my fuse box to get to the 100A fusible link that I had to tell him was located beneath and the assembly had to be unbolted to get to it from underneath. After 40 minutes of painfully watching him attempt to force things open. I politely asked him to stop as it was obvious he didn't know what he was doing and broke a few components off my housing. I tried calling him to let him know of the damages. He denied responsibility and said he was only at my house for 5 minutes. He told me to never contact him again and failed to respond to the before and after photos I sent. Do not trust this shady business. What went from a lb easy replacement of a 100A that I could have done myself but did not have the time to do so, resulted in several hundred dollars of parts in addition to more for labor due to gross incompetence. DO NOT TRUST HIM!

The HVAC in our two-story North Sac home was failing prior to going into the last summer season and we knew we weren't going to be able to survive a Sacramento summer without A/C. We also were wary of trying to find the best company in the area without getting hit for excessive pricing and low grade work. Thank goodness for A Cool Air. Prior to hiring them, we had one very well known local Sacramento company come over for an estimate (name associated with a feline) and had a terrible experience; the tech couldn't get his equipment to work properly on our outside unit to assess the issue, he provided very confusing information on what the issue was, what needed to be repaired, he never even went into the attic to look at our existing HVAC unit, and provided one option (replace the whole HVAC system with a super expensive new HVAC system). In and out in 20 minutes... Yeah thanks bud... Back to the drawing board, I was searching the Sacramento Sub on Reddit and found a number of folks had used A Cool Air; I decided to give them a try. Called them out for an estimate and they were so totally awesome. Their tech spent over an hour at our house thoroughly inspecting our outside unit, explained what all of the readout numbers on his device were indicating, thoroughly inspected our attic equipment. Then he provided 5 different options we could go with, explained the pros and cons of each, and within the next hour had cost estimates sent, directed us on different credit union programs to help with low interest financing and explained how SMUD and IRS rebates would kick in. Customer service was 5 stars all around. We went with one of the heat pump systems he recommended, and they had the old unit out and new unit in, with new ecobee smart thermostats installed, within 2 days. One of the best investments we've made, as our monthly SMUD Bill went from almost 400.00 a month to 150.00 a month, and our winter PG&E bill went from 200.00 a month down to about 40.00 a month. We had a 31 year old HVAC system and knew it was time for complete system inspection and possible replacement/upgrade. I called 4 local Scto area HVAC providers. A Cool Air was recommended to me the other 3 were via YELP reviews. ACA was the last of the 4 bidders check system and provide a bid. Peter K, the owner, came and we had great fellowship in the LORD. He had a very interesting story on how he started A Cool Air (formerly an mechanical engineer in Russia). He did the most complete inspection of the 4 bidders, up in the attic as well as inspection of AC and Heater units. He told me he'd have a bid in two days and I got it the next day. It was $1,500 less than the next best bid. That included a great Trane HVAC system, brand new R8 duct work (old ducts were original from 1954), new registers, and in-take screens. The install crew, Alex / dad, came out within 3 days and started the job. Job was completed it in the agreed upon time frame (2 & 1/2 days). All work per the invoice completed as agreed, system tested, duct system tested, SMUD rebate paperwork delivered, and the city permit passed. I've used the new AC only a few times since the install, but WOW what a difference in efficiency, reduced noise, and volume of air flow due to the new ducts. The owner, Peter Kalinin, came out to my rental house to take a look at the 17 year old heater which was not working. One of the larger companies in Sacramento that you hear on the radio and see advertised on TV had already been out and I had been advised that it needed about $1,000 in repairs but it would need more work probably soon so I was given an estimate to replace the system for $8,000-$9,000. I didn't know what to do. I couldn't afford that. I asked a man I work with if he knew of anyone and he highly recommended Peter. He came out, replaced a part at a cost of $160. That included the part and labor!!! He came into the house to check the system and saw the thermostat now dangling from the wall. He took the screws out and re-hung it properly for no charge. Sure he probably could have sold me a new system but he knows I'll call him when the time comes and it won't be any where close to costing as much as the major companies. He's already assured me of that. I plan to have him out in the spring just to make sure the air conditioning is working up to par. Peter is reliable and very knowledgable, honest, true Christian. The fan on my air conditioning unit had stopped turning. Since I have no experience/trust in any one company in this area, I called three companies (one on a recommendation) to diagnose my problem. A Cool Air was the last of the three to come to my home. I am still waiting to hear from the first company, the second (recommendation) said it was the fan motor and insisted on installing a new system since my unit was 13 years old and repairs would start to mount (but I could get a great price since I'm a friend of a friend). That same day, I got a call from A Cool Air to ask if they could come out earlier than their appointed time!! Peter, (the owner himself) took one look, got his meter out, told me it was the capacitor and the unit could also use some freon. My A/C unit was back up and running, cooler than ever, in less than 1/2 hour and at a reasonable price. A Cool Air is now my trusted company for all my heating and air conditiong needs. A heatwave, and minor communications missteps marred what might otherwise have been a 5 star rating. However, I can honestly say that Peter at A Cool Air stepped up and did a great job for my elderly mom, who lives in Folsom (somewhat out of A Cool Air's usual area). Peter absolutely stepped up and acknowledged that he had missed one commitment (due to the increase in demand for his services caused by the heatwave). However, he also did EVERYTHING he could to make it up to my mom by going out of his way, and getting her AC up and running the very next day. All-in-all, mis-steps occasionally happen to anyone. What matters to me though is that they are acknowledged, and when possible, corrected. Peter with A Cool Air definitely made things right with my mom, and certainly with me. For this reason - I am comfortable recommending him for his knowledgeable and courteous services. read more

I should have written this review last August after A Cool Air Inc successfully completed our new HVAC. This is a hard working and dedicated crew. We had an extremely small crawl space and these guys re-did all the ducting and insulation in the middle of July. I felt really bad for the crew and worried they'd suffer heat exhaustion but they made sure we were up and running quickly. I bid the job out to several companies and these guys were not only the lowest bid but seemed to have a true knowledge about what did and did not need to be done. It was a pleasure having Peter and his crew here and we trusted them from the get go. You will not be disappointed if you hire these guys. We've intended to provide an excellent review for this company some time. Our furnace died in late 2010 just before Christmas. Peter responded to our call immediately and provided us a very competitive bid (#2 out of 5, and far below all of the "big" outfits). We chose his bid and he had our heat up and running before New Years Day! How many contractors would do that?!? The heat and air works great (far better than before) and we are extremely pleased. We've read other reviews and it is true that Peter is not a large contractor but whatever minor scheduling inconvenience you might encounter is well worth it in terms of the personal service you receive at a very fair price. I didn't end up using this company and here's why. The AC in a rental property was broken. I called to make an appointment to have it fixed and spoke to Peter, who told me he couldn't make it that day, but I could call his assistant Leo to see if he could. So, I call Leo, who tells me that he can come the next morning at 9am. I give him the tenants details to set up the appointment, asking him to call me if there are any problems, and to call me with the estimate once he's looked at the system. Lunchtime the next day, I call Leo, who says he's too busy and I should call Peter. So I call Peter, who tells me how busy he is and suggests I use another company. I have no idea if they could have done a good job, but I won't be trying them again. read more

I am a Realtor and an ex general contractor, and Peter is my only to-go-guy for my jobs or any referral that I am asked for. Our 20+ year old roof top furnace stopped working. Called a local company I had dealt with in the past but was unable to reach them. I looked for alternatives and found A Cool Air on yelp. Based on the reviews here only, I gave Peter a call - he was able to come by within an hour. He was friendly, professional and gave the impression of being a knowledgeable technician. He was able to quickly diagnose and make a simple repair to keep us warm again. Although the unit we have is ancient, he commented that as long as it's working don't worry about replacing it. My tenant in Sacramento called my on Friday night to complain about AC not working. It was going to be a hot weekend so I wanted to find someone who will fix the problem in a timely manner, thoroughly at a reasonable cost. Peter is great Peter gave me a bid on our commercial property HVACs. We had lots of Old HVAC units. Peter replaced 2 of the old units for the same price another company wanted to replace just one unit. Peter was able to scavenge parts off some old units to keep some others running. He said our other units are old and some will need to be replaced in a few years. He came out for a followup problem with no charge. He does great work and has been very reasonable. When it gets really hot or cold all the HVAC guys get busy, and you may have to wait a day to get service, because they get swamped. Peter has always been very responsive, reasonable and fairly priced. read more

After getting several estimates to replace both the HVAC systems in our large home, we chose A Cool Air because of their expertise, honesty and fair prices. They explained why what we thought we wanted would work but also why it was an unnecessary expense. In the end we have an efficient system at a fantastic price. Even the 3rd party company that does efficiency testing before the permit can be signed off said A Cool Air consistently exceeds the minimum requirements. When our AC unit failed, I was told by another large, well known HVAC company that our AC was not repairable and we had to replace the unit. Fortunately, I called A Cool Air for a second opinion and Vasyl, the technician came to the house. He did a thorough inspection of the entire HVAC unit and determined that the problem was a loose fitting that was easily repaired. I was mortified to discover that my AC was blowing hot air right when the first above 100 degrees heatwave hit. I had my tenants call me and say the A/C is broken and that it was making a noise. I looked on Yelp, found this company and emailed them late evening. I called A Cool Air, Inc and Peter came out after I had a well known company give me an estimate that was very high for fixing a freon leak and recharging the system. The other company said it would take all day and they had to do a lot of tests to find the leak. I called Patterson heating and air and had to leave a message. But, not to worry, right? It says the will return our call within three hours. I kept on calling. Next, I contacted Arctic Air. The lady that answered said she could have someone out later that afternoon, between three and five. Of course, I jumped on this. A couple of hours later, no, it wasn't Patterson, it was Arctic. They said a service team could be out there within a half hour...this was 2 and a half hours sooner than I was originally quoted. I wish I would have gotten a name...but the team came, I showed them what I thought was wrong and in 15 minutes...the system was working and they were gone. Now if this isn't service...what is? I called the first place to tell them my ac was repaired and wouldn't need them. Arctic told me that a four day wait was not out of line. And I understood this. I knew with the heat wave we were experiencing, there would be many households calling for help. Oh..and Patterson? They called two days later...and said that they were returning my call that I had made the day before....NO Patterson, it was two days before!

They did eventually take care of finalizing the permit for me like I requested.
