We had a leak and called several roofing companies for bids. A Step Above sent a gentleman to inspect our roof and of all who bid this gentleman's inspection obviously was far more detailed and complete than any of the other bidders. A Step Above Roofing Company's bid was not the lowest but they went into a detailed explanation, we are very knowledgable of home maintenance and do a great deal of it ourselves so this was much appreciated by us. They answered all our questions in full and being retired military, police, and just old they gave us a reduction in their bid. A Step Above Roofing showed up each day they said they would be here and with one exception was here every day working diligently on our roof. Once they got into the job they discovered a couple of other issues and brought them to our attention. We have a large roof and we just didn't want to put out the goodly amount of money it would have cost to entirely redo our existing roof. It ended up we had the rear (most exposure to the sun and facing south) portion of our roof redone paying extra to have a double underlayment installed. They had to replace over 200 broken tiles. On a day they were not scheduled to work here we had a super intense rain. The foreman, who was on site daily, showed up with his crew and spread tarps over our rear roof finishing the last tarp installation in a good amount of rain downfall. They no sooner completed the job than we got an extremely heavy and intense rain but had no leads because of their pro action and installing those tarps. They inspected the roof and then inside our attic, both the foreman and one of his workers, independently but could not locate the leak. Then they came back again and together inspected the attic but again were unable to locate the leak. Once they removed the tile from the roof they quickly discovered the leak and fixed it immediately. Throughout there work on our roof they treated our home with respect, cleaned up at the end as if they had never been here. They were all very polite, courteous, and quick to respond to our requests. The entire company was a very pleasant company to deal with. We would recommend A Step Above Roofing with no reservations and will use them again the next time we have a roofing problem. I have nothing but good things to say about Jeremie and his team!! I was impressed from start to finish. About six months ago, I had a few shingles blow off my roof in a wind storm. I had another roofing company that I had found on Yelp come out and give me a quote, and the price was way higher than I was told it should be. Eek. I couldn't justify spending that much money for the job. So I procrastinated... Then about a month ago, there was another lovely Las Vegas wind storm, and after that, there were shingles ALL OVER the place and my roof was torn up. Sigh. I contacted A Step Above and scheduled an appointment for an estimate for a Monday. The Friday before, I had another roofing company that I had found on Yelp come out to give me a quote as well. I was asked if my insurance would cover it, and I told him I didn't think so (I had gotten a confusing answer from them when I asked, so assumed I'd have to pay for it myself). He told me it was going to cost a lot, and said he would email me a quote... Then he texted me over a week later, asking if I had gotten other quotes/estimates and what they were. Ha. Now for my experience with Jeremie. I had been given a time frame when he would be coming. He called me and said he'd be there in about 45 minutes... and was there in 30! He is so professional and knowledgeable. I explained to him what I had been through, and he told me my insurance should cover it since it is wind damage, that I probably have a deductible, and that it would probably cost about that much to fix it. He used his drone to take pictures of my roof, and then gave me a quote and explained what they would need to do to repair it. The amount was much less than I expected it to be! (Actually $75 LESS than what I had been quoted six months ago when I only had a few shingles missing!!!) He asked if I wanted to wait for a quote from the other company, and I said no. I felt confident that Jeremie and his team would do a good job, and made an appointment for the repair. I was actually out of the country when they came, but they took before and after pictures which were emailed to me with the invoice. What a relief! I love that this is a family run business. A tile blew off my roof and needed to be replaced. Jeremie took a look at my entire roof to see if any other tiles were missing. Luckily, I only needed to replace that one but he said there were areas that needed to be resealed to prevent leaks. He showed me pictures of my roof and the problem areas. I found Jeremie's family run business on yelp and based upon the 5 star reviews, decided to obtain a quote from them to repair a roof leak and broken tile (caused by the improper installation of solar panels). Got a call back within 48 hours to schedule an estimate, and had the repairs done within a week (while I still wait to get a response from the solar company after a month of numerous calls, voice mails, and emails.). Jeremie was friendly, respectful, and professional, taking the time in explaining what he discovered during the inspection, what possibly caused the problems, and offered several solutions to correct the problems. I'll start by saying that I didn't have the company do the work because of what I viewed as an excessively high estimate. What I needed done would literally take ten to twelve minutes and includes a part that costs about $25 or less. I was given a quote of $300. I would have done it myself, but due to it being for a house sale, it has to be done by a licensed person. I was shocked. I can only imagine what the company charges for a big job. Just too costly for me. 07/24/2020 The entire job as stated in both my original email asking for an estimate and to the young man who gave the estimate was two fold - screw on an exhaust vent cap and sweep the valleys. That was it. If the company wants to deny that, it should be easy enough to get a copy of the original request posted, too. Don't make things worse by failing to tell the truth. From the time I interacted with the owner I felt completely comfortable having them at my home. The morning of our repair the owner contacted us giving the time frame his foreman would arrive. The foreman did so and promptly. He took care to use booties as to not bring dirt into my home. He surveyed the needs and his team arrived within an hour to perform the job. What would of taken my husband a few days to finish ( probably two ) these guys knocked out in about 3 hours. Fast, friendly, providing me with before and after images. I am so grateful for Jeremie! During a crazy wind storm, our tree had knocked out a tile and loosened a couple others on our neighbor's roof. Selected A Step Above to repair three places where my roof was leaking. They responded promptly to my call and let me know that the owner's son Jay would be out to take a look at things. They gave me an idea of when he would arrive and he called the day of the quote to verify that he would be out later. He also called to say when he was on his way and he was right on time. Jay came out and reviewed the entire roof and provided me pictures of many of the areas in need of repair. He also was concerned about the original problem I had called the company about and advised me I would be receiving an estimate for the work to be done. Several days later Jerome called me and said a person would be out to correct the problem with the unstable tiles. A workman later came out and fixed those unstable tiles. I received and approved the estimate and later several workers came out. They were on time and fixed all the areas of concern identified in the pictures Jay had shown me. All work was performed in a timely manner. Jay later called me to find out if the work had performed to my satisfaction and advised me I would be receiving pictures of all the areas completed with my final bill.
