I've been going here a few times a week for the past two years. Staff is great and the food is really good. Unfortunately they have decided to stop taking phone orders. It was really nice to be able to get in my car start driving and call in order. But since they're only taking orders from their app this is no longer an option for me. I had to drive past a Jamba Juices and juice it up to get to this location. Both take my phone ordera no problem. I just ordered breakfast from jamba after being denied my acai republic. A small little place that's a bit hidden close to Old Town Tustin but this is one of my favorite acai bowl places in the Orange County area. They have a pretty simple menu and a nice points program that gets you lots of discounts on future visits. The fruit on my bowls has always been super fresh and clean. Acai bowls are extremely popular. There are many places to choose from and it may be hard to distinguish between them all. Acai Republic is definitely at the top. Acai Republic does not have the typical "acai bowl" taste. They add an extra Brazilian fruit that gives the entire bowl a tangy taste, and dark purple color. Some of my friends like it, while others don't it depends on the person. The bowls are more expensive but they are definitely bigger. I would come here before/after a workout and to get a good start to your day. read more

I love going to this location. The staff are always so kind, and this particular store brings a special kind of ambiance. They play reggae/ska music and usually have surf videos up on their screen -- which is a plus for me. They recently added an outdoor patio that brings in plenty of seating for you to enjoy your bowl. This place is right next to the Brazilian Jiujitsu school. Only tried the bowls here. Had the mango bowl and another one with strawberry and mango. It was just okay. Nothing that would draw me back but not bad. What turned me a little off was the fact that the juice blend had frost bites so it made me think the juice was not blended per order. I think this may be my favorite acai place. The texture of the blend is so much thicker than any other place I've had, but rich in flavor and smooth in consistency. I hate banana, so I always order the Madly Mango, which has strawberries, pineapple, and of course mango - all my favorite fruits! They also drizzle honey on top. Service is fairly quick. Parking is easy. It's in the same plaza as Cream Pan and Shout Karaoke, but is located in a different corner next to a jiu-jitsu studio. Their acai bowls are actually pretty decent in terms of taste. The reason I now try to avoid it is because I once asked for a substitution and was informed by the staff that all their acai bowls are made with pre-made mixes, and therefore none of the combinations could be customized (I think I was asking for one of the fruits in the blend to be omitted). You can however, customize the toppings. I also think it's one of the acai locations that stay open a little later, so it gets pretty packed right before close, especially on warmer days. read more

Really solid Acai Bowls at Acai Republic! They were able to give me some suggestions because I couldn't pick since they all sounded really delicious. I thought that the portions were a great size but I was not used to some of the flavors but it was my first visit there so it was something new. It was tasty and there was a nice balance between the crunch and the sweetness of the bowl. The store is a bit small but it is modern, new, comfy, and clean and there is plenty of parking in the plaza. Last year, I went here a minimum of three times a week for a year and that's not even an over exaggeration. It was problem - I know! But the acai was just that good. The consistency of the actual acai is so smooth and thick, sort of like frozen yogurt. So you end up feeling like you're treating yourself to an unhealthy, but delicious dessert. But alas! It is healthy, so no worries. I always ordered the Sao Paolo bowl, never really diverged from that one because I loved it and never got sick of it. They are very generous with the granola, which is my favorite part...but not so much with the fruit, which is ok with me because I don't care much for it. But for those of you that like to pile on the fruit, try requesting that with them. The girls who work there are always so pleasant to interact with. Do NOT bring your business to this Brazilian strip joint where the girls are wearing hooooochi mama shorts, especially if you have young children. The girls are not confused, they are very much INcompetent. If you're paying with your credit or debit card, their one and only dirty iPad register is automatically programmed with a TIP amount added to your total amount. Be careful because they are already expensive, and you can get a better quality acai in other places for a cheaper price with a better service. My family and I used to get our Tahiti, Hawaiian bowls and Mr Green juice at least twice a week for months. We STOP going there immediately when I witnessed that, they really do not follow the Department of Health regulations. They drop lids and fruits on the floor and they put it back with the rest of the food, instead of throwing them away. The employees thought I was busy looking at my cell phone but I was really watching her as I was standing right there by the counter. I really wonder what happens behind that door when they are mixing and blending our food and drinks. Something to be really concerned about. One afternoon, I went in there to get my usual Mr. Green juice and Tahiti bowl. I was the only customer at that time, but I waited for more than 20 minutes to get my small size drink. After waiting for such a lonnnnng time for my juice, my Tahiti bowl had already melted. And the Mr Green I have ordered was only half way full when she gave it to me. I asked her why it is not filled to the top as I regularly get it....she replied to me "I don't know". What????Are you kidding me, after all this time, Acai republic...??? How inconsistent and incompetent can you guys be? Total rip off of my time and money. These people do not take your business seriously. They waste your precious time and money. They should not be in our city or should not have any business anywhere else. Please Do NOT patronize this kind of business operation. I've been addicted to acai bowls the past few months so I had to give this place a try! I have to say taste wise, i think it's better than banzai bowls and much better than nektar. I love the variety they have :) I always get the Tahiti bowl and adding honey just makes it taste that much better too! It's only $0.50 for honey. The workers are all very friendly and they make your bowls quickly too! I've also had their hot Brazilian chicken sandwich which you can completely customize and it's really good :) I'll definitely be coming back here for my acai fix! I seriously love this place. Best Acai bowls for your price, for sure. The first time I came, the workers seemed a little confused and ended up giving me the wrong bowl. I wasn't even very angry or anything since either way, the bowl was delicious. However, their store contacted me and wanted to make things right by giving me a FREE BOWL!!! Not only did they give me a free bowl, but it was one of the large ones. Honestly, they have won my business for life and I've been back almost every week just for their bowls. Their staff is very friendly and their bowls are all good - I've had the Tahiti, Hawaiian and the mighty mango, they were all fantastic. Honestly, I don't think you can go wrong with any of the choices here. Lastly, get the large, it's literally double the size of a medium at only $1.50 more. This place fully deserves its high ratings. One of the best acai bowls I've ever had! They have various types as well as smoothies and juices. Ordered the Tahiti (one of the most popular)--can't forget the exact ingredients in the acai frozen blend but it was topped with granola, strawberries, blueberries and bananas (honey optional). Doesn't make me too happy to write my first negative review in the OC, but you can depend on my honesty. Came here at 8:25 PM for a quick healthy dessert; also my first acai bowl.. ever! Got a small bowl with the yelp coupon for about $5.75, which quantity wise was enough. What irritated me was waiting 15 minutes for my bowl (no joke) and there weren't even many people inside. The fruits and acai mix was fine, but didn't taste special or must order..? Another thing that was extremely annoying were the big ice chunks in the acai. Could've blended longer or.. just done it better tbh. Pretty disappointed, most likely won't be coming back :( read more

I fully back this place. Out of the many acai bowls I've had in California, this one is in my top three for sure. There were some points to be improved upon, but overall I was very impressed. Acai Republic is attached to a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu gym (owned by Brazilians) in a small and pretty slow little strip mall in Old Town Tustin. I came around 3pm on a weekday and there were a few other people there, but no wait. Pretty small place, but enough room for a few tables inside and a couple outside. The menu hosts fresh juices, smoothies, acai bowls, sandwiches and a couple other little food items (Brazilian-themed). I ordered a small Sao Paulo which was acai blended with banana and guarana as the base and was topped with granola, bananas and honey (usually comes with strawberries but I ordered it without). I've never seen guarana in an acai bowl before, so I thought that was an interesting addition. The girl who took my order (Marisa), had an equal passion for acai bowls and we chatted about acai and Brazil and different creative ways we make them at home, etc. She was super friendly and was excited that I was excited. Aw. I know acai is one of the new big things, but it has been around in my life for a long time since I discovered it at Whole Foods ten years ago or so in the frozen pack, and I have been so stoked at all the new acai places popping up. That being said, I have a very discriminatory taste for it. I can tell when places are blending it with other fruits, juices and sometimes even water and I can tell when they've added sweeteners. Acai Republic uses JUST the fruit. Not only that, but their acai comes FROM Brazil (acai is native to Central and South America). When she made my bowl, she showed me the chunks of acai berries and banana going straight into the blender, nothing else. Almost every acai place I've been to has the slowest service ever....unreasonably so. Acai Republic was super quick and honestly I wouldn't have even minded if it had been slow because the employees were so friendly and engaging. The small comes in a cup (maybe 12 ounces or so)...it isn't huge for the price ($5.25)....I think the small should be more like $4.50/$4.75. It came with granola on the bottom, then the acai/banana mix topped with more granola, a few banana slices and a drizzle of honey (they also have agave at the condiment bar). I would have liked to have seen them include a layer of bananas somewhere in the middle since I only got maybe 5-6 slices on top, but the actual base was absolutely perfect. I think their menu could use some more creativity for sure...almost all the varieties of bowls they offer sounded the same: some combination of acai, strawberry, blueberry, banana. I'd like to see some different topping choices and some mix-in additions. Regardless, I think they have a good thing going here and could definitely have a great thing going with a few adjustments and additions. read more

Yum! I had a smoothie, and a bowl from this place, they were both so good! I love how big the bowl was, and it was great with the granola and freshly chopped fruit. Definitely my new favorite way to eat granola! Acai can be expensive at the grocery store, and sometimes it's annoying the way it's packaged, so it's great that there's a place that will serve it up for you! Oh, and this is in an area with a couple of other Brazilian places, so it makes me wonder if it's somewhat authentic. Plus, they offer Brazilian breads and pastries! (Fried balls of chicken salad?
