I always come here in the morning for some coffee and a ham and cheese croissant. Not too shabby. Make sure to warm the croissant in the microwave to the right of the store. Its so much better that way. The coffee is decent. In the beginning the staff looked a bit grumpy but I think they just seem that way. After a couple of runs, they proved to be much more friendly. I've been craving donuts for awhile and decided to try out Ace Donuts today. I'm glad I did because everything was fresh, crispy and not overly sweet. Just perfect!!! I really wanted to give this place 5 stars...I visited this store because so many neighbors on Nextdoor recommended this place and I love to support local businesses. The worker did not have a mask on or wear any gloves. As she was boxing up my donuts, she started coughing and covered her mouth with her ungloved hand. Then she continued on packing up my donuts without washing her hands. ESPECIALLY during these times, I asked her to either wash her hands or glove up and box up new donuts that she did not contaminate. She put the donuts BACK in the case and tried to give me new ones. At that point, I was very disgusted and told her I will be getting donuts elsewhere that practices proper hygiene. Definitely will not be visiting this place again...Hopefully the owner sees this and makes some changes. read more

Honestly, I don't have much to say. It was ok. Staff wasn't friendly but they weren't rude either. The whole experience was decent. I came in and ordered 3 dozen donuts for my staff. I got a wide assortment and from what I hear, people enjoyed it. However, I can only comment on the crumb donut that I ate. It was good. Nothing spectacular. The Asian owner is very nice and friendly guy with a great memory. For him to remember my dads name after 3 years really made me like this guy even more. I am very critical because our family owned bakery and donut shops a few years ago so I was craving some. Dropped by and ordered a dozen, it came out to be over 10 buckaroos for crappy tasting donuts. Since when donuts costs this much? We got out of the biz because it seems everyone wants to open one in each corner of America but does not know how to bake decent tasting donuts, and let alone charge twice as much as any supermarket or krispy kreme or winchells. super short review for this place, cuz i went in, got my food, and went out in less than 5 minutes. lol (and it's only about the ham and cheese croissant cuz that's all i bought here!) would be 5 stars if it was HOT when i bought it, but it was still super yummy so 4 stars it is! important stuff: -ham and cheese croissant = $2.85 -it's super huge! so i was heading home after spending the night at a friend's house in irvine, and for some reason after trying a croissant at this one place in the past, every time i'm in irvine, i crave croissants.... weird right? lol anyways, i'm on my way home and i decide to look up the nearest location to satisfy my cravings, and yelp brings me here! summary: the one thing i need to note about was it's size... i think it was the size of my head. here's my sharing calculator: 1 croissant is good for: -1 grown man -2 girls -3 kindergartners -4 babies -5 cats -1000000000000000000000 ants. just had to emphasize how big that thing was.. lol after i ate it.... my food intake was pretty much done for the day. read more

im a donut freak, but fortunately for me south OC is not a big on donut shops. im more fond of traditional american donuts than the asian pastries that are the hype now so i'll walk into a winchells before i step foot into 85C for instance. i found this place driving along culver looking for a place for breakfast while i was home one friday waiting for contractors to do some work at my new place, so i drive into here and find half-decent selection of decent-tasting donuts. donut holes are great not tasty coffee. please do not get it from here. it is horrible. staff that is not rude but not really friendly too. construction all over the place in this plaza. Went here the other day with some co workers and was pretty pleased with the entire visit. It's a cute little shop that was pretty busy. They had the typical doughnuts that your everyday doughnut shop carries. Really liked the maple bacon doughnut also tried some of the fritter and actually liked it because it wasn't a greasy bite. read more

Ace Donuts rocks. They are only 1/8 of a mile down the street from Irvine High School and the Wollett Aquatics Center (Walnut & Culver). Gary the owner is there almost everyday. They have the best donut selection from 5am to 10am and are open usually until 12-1 pm. After that you can go next door to The Habit restaurant.
