A very cute, contemporary coffee shop! The interior design is very cool and aesthetic. I ordered the lemonade with a strawberry cloud and it was delicious! The lemonade had the perfect amount of sweetness and tartness, and it was a very refreshing drink. I ordered the drink with no ice, but I'm sure it would be even more refreshing with ice on a warm day. The cloud comes in different flavors, but I tried it in the strawberry flavor. It was very nice! You get a generous amount of cotton candy on top and it's rather fun to eat. It takes a handful of minutes (about 5-8) for the cloud to be prepared because the cotton candy machine needs to be warmed up. The shop has a very peaceful setting and wonderful seating area around the corner. Seems like a great place to read a book or to get some work done.

Local Take: "Get your Caffeine fix here". While the owners & other pics make it seem as if people over 40, 50, 60+ do not come here, apparently they let me in, and did not even ask for proof...JK! Who knew that a cool "black" theme [ultra-dark roast perhaps] coffee house also had a whimsical side?....namely the various cotton candy Cloud toppings for drinks.. Great for people [and their kids] who pre-reviewed the pics/Yelp reviews, but not so great for those who missed both that and reading the bottom of the menu, or just want to get Java to go with next door's Bakery Shop or Cupcake Shop goodies. There was lackadaisical service when I went, even though they were almost empty. In this rare case, I would have welcomed a "Hello, can we tell you about our store"?, an "upsell", or even a slight mention about the Cloud options. In contrast, the next door shops, the staff greeted & welcomed me like a long lost family friend that had recently scaled the "iron curtain" & had escaped a Communist regime. Of course, while a sweet Cloud topped coffee may not have gone with my homemade Pirogies from the next door bakery, you never know, do you? They had no idea of what I was eating outside in the Creamery Courtyard. Since I had a basic coffee which filled my "basic" coffee needs, it served my needs at the time. It went well with my Joliene's French-Polish creation [it turns out that their cook is Polish & I am Slovak...so I am a fan]. At home, I am quite a coffee snob, use a French Press, a Coffee grinder, and the fine coffee's from Panama, such as Panama Elida or even Geisha coffee. I am not big on adding stuff to fine coffees except for maybe a slight touch of heavy cream to counter acidity. I am also not into adding art into coffee, but if I had brought a visiting nephew or niece, then that might be an attraction. The time I went, there were all adults in the courtyard outside, having a brunch, pastry, or meal, and the pandemic was a concern, but it was serene & kind of a serene oasis. Since this is not really a kids area, there is not much demand for extraneous sweets, since there are far fancier French sweets next door. In any case, this Coffee house goes well with both the cute little courtyard in the Creamery and the surrounding bake shops.

Oohh..another coffee place in SLO! Active Coffee Co opened its door in September 2020, so it's been about half a year since they've opened. I've seen this place over social media for their cute drinks w/ cotton candy on top. Active Coffee Co is located in the Creamery, which is at the edge of downtown, super close to the Marsh St 101 entrance. Unfortunately, it's not super close to the parking garages, but there are plenty of parking spots along the street (meters are enforced though). I loved the aesthetic of the store. It reminds me of "dark mode" on my iPhone LOL. It definitely has a modern feel. Anyway, the menu is extensive for the "cloud" or cotton candy. They have loads of different flavors such as strawberry lemonade and even cookie dough. I only got the cloud since I truly am not the biggest coffee/tea drinker. I got "chai" cloud which seemed to be one of the more popular flavors. I heard the "chai on chai" is a good option from the barista. It was definitely sweet so if you have a sweet tooth you will enjoy this. You can definitely taste hints of chai which was appreciated. The space is actually pretty decent. They sort of have like two rooms. They have one room where you order and a few bar seats, and then the other room has a bunch of tables where people could work and study. When I went, the tables were filled! I think this would be a great place to take your kids whilst grabbing a cup of coffee. You can entertain them with the cotton candy while you pick up your much needed caffeine...LOL

This place is so zen it has a white and black color scheme with lots of plants that give it the perfect calming vibes. I ordered a vanilla latte with almond milk which Grant made with lots of patience and love. The latte was delicious and was brewed with coffee beans of the week from Costa Rica which gave it rich and robust flavor. I loved it so much I had to go back for another and have my family try it too. My mom ordered a latte just like mine and i was so impressed by the way Grant made coffee that I told my mom, "look he makes every cup individually with so much tenderness," and at that very moment my mom accidentally knocks it over. She was mortified but Grant was super sweet and gave her another cup of coffee made with the same amount of love as the first.

The finest coffee ever! Well made, literally awakens your soul! It's that crazy good! It's hard to find, hidden behind the creamery building Literally inside a little strip mall in the back, it was worth not giving up and finding this place! Whew!

Really cute artisan coffee shop at the marketplace. We tried a few other coffee places in the town and this one was our favorite for a few reasons. Mainly because it's not as busy as some of the ones in main downtown, service was fast and we could customize our order based on our preferences. The barista was super friendly. The coffee beans were fresh and crisp - they use Coava roasters from Portland, Oregon. We had a cold brew and a decaf iced latte - both were exceptional. They do have some small bites but we didn't get to try them, since we had already gotten croissants from the bakery next door. They have some outdoor tables at the marketplace and the coffee shop has some indoor seating as well, so do yourself a favor and grab a coffee and enjoy the place!

What a special, unique coffee shop in SLO. This place allows you to put flavored cotton candy on top of your drink. I ordered a decaf vanilla latte with a cloud of chocolate chip cotton candy. The candy just melts right into the drink and adds a delicious sweetness and fun to the coffee experience. I've tried a lot of coffee shops around the world and this one is truly unique and tasty. A must try in SLO!!!

What a wonderful, friendly coffee shop. Got a latte for me and a cloud for my son. Both were delicious, and my son was in awe of the cloud. Would highly recommend. It is located in a small outdoor plaza with other food places, an ice cream place, and a bakery.

Went to checkout this place before leaving slo and it was super cute! Love the aesthetic of the cotton candy cloud on top of their strawberry lemonade! It was sweet and refreshing. Quite a unique blend!

Friendly staff, delicious coffee clouds....thick but not overly sweet. They've done a good job of balancing the sweetness with the coffee not overpowering flavors. The vibe is friendly and lots of seating. I recommend it!! The other nicety is that you have a bakery next door, a cupcake place, an ice Creamery and many other choice food establishments all in the same plaza.

    Cool decor

Came to this place for the first time, as part of a Yelp Elite event. First off the vibe is great. Customer service was kind and quick! Smiling faces here. Of course we had to order the cloud drinks because I have seen them all over Instagram. The Chai cloud easily subbed almond milk for while milk. It was perfect! The Mexican Cloud was spicy! The Cloud had a little hot spice in it and on the cloud as well which put a pep in my step this morning. Such a great discovery! They gave us two chips for free coffee next visit. Will defiantly stroll to the Creamery and visit Active again!

It was an excellent matcha cap.

So funny story - I actually won a giveaway for this coffeeshop organized by the city of SLO. I come up to SLO from LA several times a year and love trying new places here. This coffeeshop was new to me and I couldn't wait to try it. My husband and I tried it today and we really loved it. I know everyone loves their cloud drinks but I don't like sweet drinks so I tried their matcha. I asked for cappuccino size so that it's not too milky. It was perfection. Smooth, intense matcha taste, well blended and whisked. No added sweetness, just high quality tea. My husband tried cortado. He loved the coffee (we got a bag of the same beans), but said that it would have been perfect had the oat milk been Oatly. It's a lovely area, away from the busy streets and noise and the barista was very nice. We are absolutely going to be coming back many times in the future.

The space itself is charming, and the staff was friendly and welcoming. Overall, nothing was wrong with the experience, but the drinks weren't memorable enough to bring me back, and the rocky start with parking left me feeling a little less enthusiastic than I'd hoped. If I lived here, this would be my GO TO spot for ALL my coffee needs. The space is thoughtfully designed with many furniture pieces from repurposed goods. It is spacious with a light, bright airy feel. All the "baristas" were so welcoming and friendly. They seemed to enjoy their job and their coworkers. They set off a very cohesive vibe. I wish I could have spent the morning just being there but had to leave for a funeral. So many things caught our eye! The baked goods were devine. The T-shirts were super soft and I would have bought one of they had our sizes. The roasted coffee beans were priced fairly. I haven't even gotten to the coffee yet! There were so many iced coffee/cold brew options it was really hard to choose. We ended up selecting the Lemon Pistachio shortbread cookie, a Ginger Molasses cookie, a seasonal scone: Honey Cinnamon, an iced Latte and an iced Vanilla Bean Latte: 1/2 sweet and a bag of Classic Espresso beans. My only sadness was I should have gotten a large latte instead of a regular. We saved the desserts for after the funeral and enjoyed the yummy coffees on our way. The Ginger Molasses cookie was perfect. Moist and chewy and not too much ginger. I should have bought more! The Lemon Pistachio cookie had a lovely balance of lemon zest and fine pieces of pistachio in the cookie and a not too tart lemon glaze and pieces of pistachio on top. It wasn't dry or super dense either. Someone making these is an experienced baker! The Honey Cinnamon scone was the best scone we have ever had. It was messy but so worth it. If you want an entire coffee experience, you have to visit Scout Coffee on Foothill Blvd in SLO. You will not stop thinking about what a beautiful experience it was after you've gone.

It was past 7pm and the place was still hoppin' with groups on the outdoor patio, back room lounge and main area. It has more of a restaurant/club vibe than a coffee shop which gives it a special charm. When asked about their chai the friendly barista was happy to share that they don't use dry powder, they use a spicy concentrate. That's one plus!! But, it's not a house brew, it's basic Third Street Chai you buy off the shelf at the local grocer, chef supply, or natural foods store :( To their credit, they heat it up well and top it with a fancy cinnamon design on the milk foam. When asked if there is a local chai, the barista (who is a chai fan) couldn't think of any. This explains why the local reviews were so good for mediocre concentrate. While the chai quest was a miss here in SLO, Kreuzberg is still a pretty cool spot, with a fun, social vibe, friendly, helpful staff, and some tasty looking items on their menu (just not a stop for chai).
