A kind of art deco aesthetic with tables of course. There were some items on sale which appeared to be all local businesses. After a couple of minutes, the drinks were ready to go. They were sooo good. I particularly enjoyed the Bon Bon due to the chocolatey sweetness of the cream on top. Overall, a very successful trip to Buen Día and I'd come back!!

After they gave their recommendations, we ended up with the bon bon, abuela's, and an americano. All were very good, but abuela's was my favorite! Very flavorful! It is spacious with a light, bright airy feel. All the "baristas" were so welcoming and friendly. They seemed to enjoy their job and their coworkers. They set off a very cohesive vibe. I wish I could have spent the morning just being there but had to leave for a funeral. So many things caught our eye! The baked goods were devine. The T-shirts were super soft and I would have bought one of they had our sizes. The roasted coffee beans were priced fairly. I haven't even gotten to the coffee yet! There were so many iced coffee/cold brew options it was really hard to choose. We ended up selecting the Lemon Pistachio shortbread cookie, a Ginger Molasses cookie, a seasonal scone: Honey Cinnamon, an iced Latte and an iced Vanilla Bean Latte: 1/2 sweet and a bag of Classic Espresso beans. My only sadness was I should have gotten a large latte instead of a regular. We saved the desserts for after the funeral and enjoyed the yummy coffees on our way. The Ginger Molasses cookie was perfect. Moist and chewy and not too much ginger. I should have bought more! The Lemon Pistachio cookie had a lovely balance of lemon zest and fine pieces of pistachio in the cookie and a not too tart lemon glaze and pieces of pistachio on top. It wasn't dry or super dense either. Someone making these is an experienced baker! The Honey Cinnamon scone was the best scone we have ever had. It was messy but so worth it. If you want an entire coffee experience, you have to visit Scout Coffee on Foothill Blvd in SLO. You will not stop thinking about what a beautiful experience it was after you've gone.

There were a ton of students that were studying or chatting at the tables so there were limited seats available. Their windows are all open so there's quite a lot of sunlight coming through the windows which adds a nice touch to the entire store. It did take a little bit for my drink to get made but I honestly appreciate baristas taking their time with each individual drink instead of batching everything. When asked about their chai the friendly barista was happy to share that they don't use dry powder, they use a spicy concentrate. That's one plus!! But, it's not a house brew, it's basic Third Street Chai you buy off the shelf at the local grocer, chef supply, or natural foods store :( To their credit, they heat it up well and top it with a fancy cinnamon design on the milk foam. When asked if there is a local chai, the barista (who is a chai fan) couldn't think of any. This explains why the local reviews were so good for mediocre concentrate. While the chai quest was a miss here in SLO, Kreuzberg is still a pretty cool spot, with a fun, social vibe, friendly, helpful staff, and some tasty looking items on their menu (just not a stop for chai).

Every item seemed to be priced 25-50% more than I wanted to spend. Walked past Kreuzberg and initially thought it was only coffee and pastries. The whole layout is immaculate. Outdoor seating, indoor group seating and even a few private seats in the corner that give it a VIP ambiance. Hidden inside was a narrow lounge area with turntables with a bar area at the end. A DJ was set to start at 8pm. The music genre schedule varies. I will return. The burrito was top tier. Side of chips added to the filling satisfaction. Should Have Known Better…read more.... I've been to the Nautical Bean on Los Osos Valley Road a few times since my review in March 2026 and each visit earned 4 or 5 stars. Not bad! But I went back on Monday, June 8th and had a very different experience. I ordered 2 small cups of hot chai with extra foam, extra hot and 1/2 sweet. When they were done, both were "heavy" meaning they felt like there was no foam. I checked and yup...no foam. I mentioned it to the barista who said "no problem. I'll do them over". They were done quickly, but still felt "heavy". I didn't want to go back and figured "it's just me". I got into my car and tried one. It was 90% the same as before. She simply scraped a sliver of the drink off the top and added a touch of foam. Plus...the liquid was "thin" meaning she nearly scalded the drink to get it hot. The 2nd chai was the same way. And the shop wasn't even busy at the time. Everyone at the Nautical Bean is friendly and the vibe is great, but next time I'll take my own advice...even if that means going back to the barista twice to get things right.
