First time here! Got a veggie bowl with avocado. It was delicious & fresh, and you get a generous portion. The OG sauce is bomb & I added some of their hot sauce (even better!!) I wish they had maybe sweet potato or another veggie in the bowl though -- I wouldn't recommend it without avocado Great service, great atmosphere! I think one of my favorite things about this place is that it is very apparent the owners think about sustainability. There are tables located both inside and outside (front & back). I found parking in the back but I assume it's harder during busier hours. I will be back! read more

Loved the health oriented menu. Drinks were refreshing . I tried watermelon with Cyanne ! Was good for my surprise. Seating is not the best yet they have a big area inside which is only used as art gallery. They might consider using for seating guests ?maybe ? After my last review, the owner reached out and offered a gift card to come back again. This was so sweet! I actually visited the Long Beach location because it was more convenient. The gift card system was down, but the employee Meredith was sooo kind and patient in trying to sort it out. We got strawberry smoothie, AC bagel, quesadilla and side of potato. Everything was so well made, quality ingredients that tasted fresh and flavorful. read more

Adorable establishment with delectable offerings! And, a cute little patio with ocean view. Employees here are super sweet, too. We tried the southwest wrap and hummus wrap... so tasty and healthy! Next time we'll try the other wraps. They only have drip coffee here so if you want an espresso drink you can walk a few doors south to get a tasty one at Laguna Coffee. read more

The food was good, nutritious, and reasonably priced Ambience: It was a bit confusing for me at first. Fitore (my wife) recommended it and at first I was looking at a drink menu but it included smoothies so I thought that's all they had. But there was another menu with more options. You order at the register and a server will bring the food to you. There is a yogurt station with a topping station as well. I didn't get enough primer on the place so it was a lot to take in and figure out lol. There were a few tables outside, and we managed to snag one with a view of the ocean which was nice Service: Service was fine. Everyone was nice and helpful. Food: The food was good and nutritious at a reasonable price. I had the breakfast bowl and it came with two perfectly poached eggs. Hearty and left me leaving full. I don't know what this hype is about. The food is not fresh and way too expensive for a shitty restaurant. I ordered their wholesome bowl a few days ago and have been sick since then. Has anyone else notice a decline/quantity in the wholesome bowls? Especially, at the Laguna location! Each time we have ordered on three separate occasions the bowls have been half full. Why? You should be ashamed of yourselves. I was a repeat customer until yesterday when I was made aware of the worst customer service ive ever seen, some may even say discriminatory. A man of color walked in and bought two of your overpriced smoothies. Waited patiently and when his order was done and he was about to grab them, he was told they werent his then said HIS NAME. He preceded to take the smoothies when she stopped him and said he had to pay. He offered to show his reciept and was just told he needed to pay. He went to the register again to offer reciept so he could take his smoothies and still the people working are saying he needs to pay, denying the proof of receipts. This happend two more times until the woman just rudely told him to take them as if he was stealing. Disgusting behavior. read more

I go here at least once sometimes 2, 3 times a week. I love the wholesome bowl it's my go to. The salads are great, and also the frozen yogurt flavors. Spencer is so great!! He's so kind and sometimes it's gets really busy...but if he's there, he handles a rush so well!! He makes sure everyone gets taken care of and seems to make the rush run super smoothly. It's great vibe and great place to go to in Laguna! read more

My daughters and I had lunch here today. They had eaten here previously and kept encouraging me to join them- IM GLAD I DID! Fantastic tasting healthy food!! I was very surprised at how tasty everything was. The bowls offered a nice potion. And...... the java shake.... I am not sure if the greens are washed properly. - White bowl smelled like a dirty rag used in the kitchen - This place was good before, but lately, quality is down. - I asked the girl working there about utensil used by customers and drying methods. Pleased.... I recently vented on Yelp at how upset I was that my favorite restaurant and item was half the size and still the same cost. I felt ripped off. The restaurant reached out to me and heard my complaints and basically fixed them. Which is good because I'm craving their LB bowl and glad I can get it again. It is kinda pricey still but they explained why and are helping so 5 stars. I got a $10 southwestern wrap that I had to wait about 15 minutes for. And it wasn't even that busy there. The wrap tasted good but was very sad looking, small and mostly full of iceberg lettuce and red beans. I got some frozen yogurt that was good. But a moderate size was $8. The vegan yogurt definitely tasted vegan. The non-vegan vanilla was good. The ambiance could be way better here. The place feels like a tiny Del Taco; half the cafe is occupied by an art gallery, so be prepared to almost bump into other customers and awkwardly walk around people. I was really bummed and would probably only come back to get overpriced but good yogurt. read more

When active culture first opened in Laguna it was fabulous. It has steadily declined in quality, consistency, and customer service since that time. I always order the same few items and they NEVER are consistent with the ingredients. They tend to skimp on their sauces now so we have to order extra sides which tack on additional costs. I have given them chance after chance but I am only satisfied 50% of the time and their food is not cheap! The ingredients should be consistent all of the time paying those prices. One time I called and spoke with the manager and she argued with me. Really bummed me out because I am in the customer service industry myself and you never argue with your customer. I consider myself a very fair person and it has taken me a long time to write this review because I keep giving chance after chance. I feel very young people run this business now and it seems that the owner is not as involved? They answer the phone almost like they aren't listening to you and the music is always blaring ...I think better training and quality control would do the store some good. Just today we ordered bowls and my bowl was almost completely shredded carrots... I literally paid $15 for shredded carrots. I don't feel comfortable calling and complaining because honestly I don't think it will do any good and I don't want to deal with a commbative staff member. I hope active culture will tighten up it's quality control and perhaps have specific measurements for each ingredient that is in the bowl or their salads because the idea of the company and the sauces are so good! But I'm just not gonna go back until this happens read more

I had give one star to write review a negative five star is what I am actually giving , THE WORST SERVICE seems very unorganized and business seems to be dirty behind counter where some food prep area is at , you must wash hands if you are handling money and food , and wash hands with hot water and for more than the 5 seconds I counted while waiting had the time , self serve yogurt bar was dirty with kids grabbing all serving spoons and they are below the so called sneeze guard , other people grabbing with hands only , order was placed on phone to be picked up at , paid for order and stood there for 40 min no one asked or looked for my order made eye contact more than once , shouldn't have to ask for order people should pay attention to customers standing 5 feet from front counter ten other orders went out that we're placed while I stood there waiting .The 80's gothic people working there need to clean up their act to work in public place you are not at home you are at work have some respect for yourselves , I hope that one of them wasn't a manager none seemed to have those skills , this is my opinion and my own experience at this location not say that everyday except this one has been perfect there . I run my business with attention to all customers at all times that is how it should be ran pay attention to customers and they return with more work , bad news travels much faster than good news . The last three times I have got the wholesome bowl unfortunately, the portions have got smaller, perhaps a change in staff or a way to keep cost down?
