I would like to give this place a higher rating based on a previous visit, but this last time was a one star visit. The chips are always fresh, but the guacamole was so salty we couldn't eat it. We told the waiter and he brought a fresh bowl and it was just as bad...we were charged for both as well! We both ordered burrito's and after the first bite it seemed like just as much salt was added to those as well. Very unimpressed with Adelita's this last time and I don't think we will be going back anytime soon, actually probably never! read more

Adelita's is a solid 4 star restaurant. My husband loved his taco/chile rellano combo and the rice and beans. My potato taco was good, but I felt the beans had too much lard. Salsa was delicious and the chips were thin, just as I like them! Service was attentive but I would expect nothing less since about halfway through our meal we were the only ones there. Our only complaint is that you have to pay for refills of chips and salsa. Kind of ridiculous. read more

Stopped in for Sunday night dinner on our way to Big Bear. Absolutely delicious food served by the sweetest waitress you could ask for! The fish tacos are breaded and deep fried to order and they are fantastic!! One of those meals you fight to finish after your full just because it's so damn good. My daughter had flautas and they were fresh made too. At 8pm on a Sunday, you're grateful to find anything open when you travel and this was truly a gem. Next time we travel this way, I will deliberately plan to eat here. read more

The server had a bad attitude. My mom is diabetic and so she can not eat a lot of carbs/sugar and she asked to substitute the rice and beans for a small salad and the server said they don't allow that. I specified that my mom is diabetic and she just looked at me and said no..so I asked her even for a medical condition they won't accommodate and she said, "that's right". My mom ended up with a plate full of food she couldn't even eat (such a waste of money). We were treating our neighbor who is a Veteran and he had a fly on his plate, she replaced the sour cream the fly was on but returned to him the same plage/food. The service was awful. The server was down right rude; but she was quick to bring the check! AND, when she did bring the check, it wasn't our check it was the check for a different table. We eat here a lot while down in the High Desert. Love their breakfast burritos that they customize for me. My wife loves their wet chicken burrito with guacamole and sour cream. Their salsa is great, but some might think it is spicy. I love it. Good service, kinda laid-back, but fine. The only thing I have against this place is that the waitresses always disappear into the back and you will often sit there with empty chips, basket, salsa or drinks. Great food though! read more

I have eaten a LOT of fajitas in my life. The chicken fajitas here rank Numero Uno!!! Seriously. Perfectly cooked and still juicy, with likewise perfectly cooked peppers and onions to boot. Just beware ~ they refuse to honor their burrito lunch special, that is posted outside, if you don't mention it to them before you place your order. (Many times at other establishments servers will let you know if they have a special that you could use. I really appreciate that good service.) Takes a special kind of place to get me to review from my phone, but have to do it. I so wanted to support a local business but when they give you the double whammy of crappy food and a server who won't look you in the eye (on a Sunday afternoon when you are quite literally the ONLY customers), well, I feel I have to do a service to other travelers down this road. Do yourself a favor and keep driving on towards civilization just another 20 minutes. If you are an enchilada fan like I am, you will understand...a cold plate of chintzy portions and UNMELTED shredded cheese inside!! Sent it back in disgust... If you are desperate, my 3 year old ate her whole $5 dollar plate of (melted) cheese enchiladas with fries. Hubby gives the chile relleno burrito 2 stars. read more

We were driving by just in time for lunch, and decided to stop there. Excellent food! My wife got a chicken burrito, and she said the chicken filling was one of the best she ever had; extremely juicy, soft and tasty. I had a cheese enchilada, and it was definitely one of the best ones I've had. Even the refried beans were classes above other mexican restaurants. We would wholeheartedly recommend this for anyone in search of good mexican food. read more

Good food, nice people. It's great to have such good quality restaurants in Lucerne Valley. I really like the steak Picado. It's fairly low carb and I do a ketogenic diet so I can go eat here without worrying about ruining my diet. The owner and her husband are hilarious. read more

Only a 3 star because their customer service really sucks. You usually have to see yourself and then you have to go up and ask for the bill about 80% of the time never come check on you to see how you're doing and see if you want some more to drink. We just moved to Lucerne and we are trying each of the restaurants one by one. This place has wonderful, friendly service. Food was fantastic! Chips and salsa were yummy. I ordered the flautas. One beef one chicken. Both were good but I think I prefer the chicken. Beans and rice were generous and quite tasty. Most every time we go out to the Lucerne Valley area off roading, we drive into Lucerne and have dinner, as we did this last weekend, we went to Adelita's and it was as good as ever, real Mexican food, not what the big chains want you to think Mexican food is, we have eaten at most all of the restaurants in Lucerne over the years and this one has always stayed the same, good honest food, decent service and a feeling that they want you to come back, A great place in the middle of the desert !!! read more

Great Mexican food in Lucerne Vally. We called twenty minutes ahead for group of 25 they were great

I met out of town friends to try cafe 247 BBQ, but ended up leaving and going to Adelita's instead. I had the shredded beef taco salad and it was delicious. Our server kept the chips and salsa coming, and I had one of the BEST blended margarita ever! I live in this town and had only been here one other time when they first opened as I worked out of the area and ventured into the "downtown" area infrequently. I will definitely be back! read more

Drove 26 miles from Big Bear Lake to try this place located in the middle of not much at all except desert, a gas station, a nearby Chinese restaurant. Tried the Chile Colorado plate: Pork in a red sauce, rice, beans, tortillas, with a cup of albondigas soup.. Everything was quite tasty. If you happen to be driving through Lucerne Valley with a yearning for Mexican, this is your only choice. You could do worse. read more

Driving through decided to stop here for lunch, Adelita the owner came to the table, what do you want to drink? No hello, how are you nothing. Right there should of known better... I ordered a Chicken Chimichanga and asked if they had Colorado green chili to pour on top and she said yes with pork.. Great I thought. My husband ordered the Enchiladas. Mine came out with some kind of nasty pork inside only and his was plain and dry. I asked her if this was chicken and she said no you ordered pork. Um no I didn't, she said yes you did. I have been in the restaurant business for 20 years. I know what I ordered. Neither one of us ate our food. She didn't say a word and we paid and left. Also she spoke perfect English so that is no excuse!! She should of especially being the owner should of tried to make our meal correct or something. Never will go there again. Highly recommended, stopped by for the first time on the way home from Twentynine Palms. Service was outstanding, food very exceptional. Fresh quality ingredients from the chips & salsa to the main entrees. Husband ordered Tricolor enchilada with rice and beans, I ordered the Camarone Rancheros with rice and beans.
