From the day I moved in until the day I moved out, the team was professional, honest, and easy to work with. The property was well maintained, and whenever something needed attention, it was handled quickly without a lot of back-and-forth. A special thanks goes to Zach. He was consistently responsive, approachable, and genuinely helpful. Whether I had a maintenance question or needed clarification about something related to the property, he always got back to me promptly and made sure everything was taken care of. It's clear he takes pride in providing great service. Finding a management company that communicates well and follows through is harder than it should be, but Crown Management did exactly that throughout my entire tenancy. I would absolutely rent from them again and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking for a place in Pacific Beach.

I lived in two different units (I went from a studio to a one bedroom) and both units were absolutely beautiful and renovated so nicely. The management, maintenance, and landlords were all so nice & made living there so enjoyable. From holiday treats, to window cleaning services, they always made sure the property and tenants were taken care of. If I ever move back to San Diego, I will make sure to rent with Wendy. I will forever cherish my time there in my beautiful cozy apartment.

Jackie, the owner, runs this family business with such integrity, professionalism, and care -- it really shows in every interaction. They handle everything thoughtfully, efficiently, and with great attention to detail. Communication is clear, follow-ups are timely, and I always feel supported and confident that things are being managed properly. It's rare to find a management company that is both highly professional and genuinely caring, but Alta Vista is exactly that. I've worked with two other management companies in the past 13 years for La Jolla property , so I have a strong basis for comparison, and that experience is precisely why I can say I highly recommend Alta Vista. The difference in quality, organization, and overall experience has been night and day. If you're looking for a reliable, professional, and truly hands-on management company, Alta Vista is an excellent choice.

The application process was extremely smooth as well. I was able to secure the property very quickly, and the move in paperwork process was made very convenient. After moving in, Garrison went above and beyond in finding me a different parking spot that would better fit my truck, and responded right away to any other questions I had. The administrative customer service with Heather in the Mission Valley office was top-tier as well. I would highly recommend any opportunity to do business with Cal-Prop Management.

I am extremely disappointed with the level of service and professionalism provided by this company,…read moreparticularly by my assigned account manager. Throughout my experience, I found the communication, responsiveness, and handling of my property matters to be unacceptable and below professional standards. My tenant moved out on May 22, 2026. However, I was not notified promptly and only became aware after I contacted the account manager for an update. In addition, I was provided with an incorrect lockbox code, which prevented access to the property. Because this occurred over a weekend when the office was closed and assistance was unavailable, I had no choice but to change the lock in order to access the property and begin necessary repairs. After gaining access, the company proposed charging me more than $8,000 for repairs. I disagreed with the assessment and chose to have my own contrator to complete the necessary work. The repairs were completed properly, and I provided receipts and documentation within the required 21-days period. Based on my understanding, the appropriate charges should have been processed against the tenant's security deposit, but I received no follow-up communication or documentation from the company. Instead, the company refused to return my security deposit funds, claiming the money was being held as a reserve for repairs. This explanation was unreasonable because the property was vacant and I had already paid for the repairs myself. After multiple discussions and continued follow-up, I was finally able to recover the funds that should have been returned to me. Due to these ongoing issues, I terminated the company's management services. Following termination, the company failed to return my spare keys and parking permit. When I requested their return, I was told that no spare keys or parking permit were in their possession. This statement is incorrect. I personally provided the company with the keys and parking permit, and they were responsible for returning all property belonging to me upon termination of services. The overall handling of my account demonstrated poor communication, lack of accountability, and a failure to provide the level of professional service expected from a property management company. I am concerned that my requests were not handled appropriately after I ended the business relationship, and I expect the company to take responsibility for its actions and improve its procedures to prevent similar situations from occurring with other clients.

The second one on paper was fantastic, but during my tour I noticed the shower's water pressure wasn't working properly (split between the faucet), the freezer was overworked (really loud fan) but wasn't actually cold--I suspect it needs to be replaced entirely-- and the cabinet paint was bubbling above the hood too, probably from overheating!! The worst part was the yard, completely unsafe for move-in with rotten 2x4s, an old dog house, grass growing through the concreted and a huge hole in the fence. And this is just what I could see in 20 mins!!! As a dog owner, I knew I couldn't bring my pet to this place without significant repairs to the yard, which was supposed to be the selling point of the apartment. When I voiced that I would need to be reassured that these clear issues would be addressed, and put into writing, I kept getting texts from Christine and Alyssa that "these things" could be taken care of, but never would they write in an email about what would be done by my move in date. Of course, they still had the time to email me about my current landlord and other minor things, lol. It's so unethical that they'd send me a lease and tell me I needed to complete my move-in paperwork and can't even list what repairs this apartment needed. I will never be applying to a Shore apartment again!! Save the money and put in your apps elsewhere, folks

If you're a property owner looking to expose yourself to legal risk, Shore Management might be the…read morecompany for you. As a tenant, I've experienced firsthand what can only be described as negligence and unprofessionalism. They attempt to charge fees that appear to be unlawful under California tenant protection laws, and there's absolutely no sense of urgency when it comes to critical habitability issues--like being without hot water. After reporting the issue, one plumber came out and claimed a part was needed but never returned. Rather than escalating or sending a different plumber to resolve the issue, nothing was done. I had to reach out multiple times just to get an update. Eventually, I was told the problem was a full water heater replacement--but this wasn't acted on with the urgency required by law. Even more concerning: when I asked why additional help wasn't sent sooner, I was told by someone named Buzz that I didn't know what I was talking about. He literally hung up on me. His dismissive tone and refusal to accept reasonable questions is exactly what's wrong with this company. As a property manager myself, I can confidently say this is not how urgent maintenance or legal compliance should be handled. This wasn't the only issue. It took four separate visits to fix a porch light, with different workers coming each time--none of whom seemed qualified. One even installed a sensor light on a unit that wasn't wired for it. Shore Management is a liability waiting to happen. Their poor hiring standards, lack of professionalism, and disregard for tenant rights make them a terrible choice for both tenants and owners. Buzz, in particular, should not be overseeing any work orders--his attitude and lack of accountability are a major part of the problem.
