This is the restaurant at the Ritz-Carlton. It is Southern style cuisine with an upscale twist and of course, upscale prices. The atmosphere is very attractive - great for business meals or dates. The food itself is good, nicely prepared. I had the Mussels, which were excellent and came with nice fresh bread. I also had a Southern jambalaya-type dish called called Purloo. Had a terrific breakfast here. A bit pricey but all you could drink fresh squeezed OJ, tasty potatoes and thick slices of bacon were perfect. My wife had oatmeal with a smoothie she raved about. The wait staff was extremely sharp, food came quickly and appeared effortless. Lovely intimate atmosphere at the second floor of the Ritz. The food and service were great, but perhaps just a step below what I would have expected for the Ritz-Carlton name and pricing. My starter was the crab soup, and I must say this was excellent -- the highlight of my meal. At the server's recomendation, I got the ox-tail dish for dinner. This was very good, but lacked the complexity of flavors I had hoped for. For dessert, I had the creme brulee, which again, was very good, but nothing super special about it. We were staying at the hotel for my daughters birthday and decided to have Sunday brunch downstairs. We were blown away by not only the amazing breakfast buffet but by how nice the staff was! They went above and beyond when they found out it was my daughters birthday. They bought her a teddy bear and the whole staff signed the card. It was the sweetest thing! Came here last night before a show at the Fox. We were greeted like we were of importance by the cute hostesses and they took our jackets. SHAWN was our waiter. ASK FOR HIM!! He accommodated to the fact we had to get out of their quickly for the show, but was not too intense about it and let us enjoy everything. His service was outstanding. The ambience in the restaurant is one of a kind and very cozy. It is a very pricey place, but worth the money in my opinion. Possibly the worst service I have ever had. My friend and I sat in the bar and ordered 2 glasses of wine, two salads and fried green tomato app. After 45 minutes wine and one salad and several unsuccessful attempts to get the attention of the waiter and the hostess, we left. Nice view from the balcony on the second floor. We were there for drinks and appetizers on a Saturday afternoon in April. The deviled eggs were unbelievable -- the best I've ever had, including my mom's. And the bruschetta was made with fresh bread and extremely tasty tomatoes, which surprised me since tomatoes generally aren't very good ANYWHERE anymore. The staff was very attentive and friendly. I was in Atlanta for a business trip last week and I went to the Atlanta Grill on Monday evening, 10/12/15, for a drink. I sat by myself on the patio and I was immediately greeted by the friendliest waiter! I cannot remember his name, but he provided excellent service. He consistently checked in on me and provided me with great suggestions for places to see and things to do while in Atlanta. I sat in the corner on the patio and it was so relaxing. Friend took me out for birthday dinner on a Friday night. Love the spiraling stairs to the entrance and lovely chandelier. Pleasantly greeted immediately with only seconds to wait on a table. Staff very professional. Was reseated to a larger booth in private quarters after server (Arnoud) asked what we were celebrating. "Yay! I'm a fan." says it perfectly. Wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our visits to AG this weekend-- Saturday night dinner and Sunday morning breakfast. Arnold provided great service for dinner. Food was very satisfying and enjoyable. Yellowtail appetizer with avocados was amazing. Halibut fish of the day was perfect. Wife had she crab soup that i was barely able to taste since she loved it so much-- very good. And she had the Angel Hair Pasta which was also very good- she had shrimp added to make it special. Without, it may have been a little plain for me. We enjoyed the wonderful atmosphere and experience-- although it was her birthday and AG made use of that to make the experience more special with complimentary private dining booth and an excellent creme brulee to boot. My husband and I celebrated our 19th wedding anniversary here. I'd heard Atlanta Grill was a great place to eat so we decided to try it out. The positives: The ambience is wonderful... the hotel and restaurant are beautiful and have a chic NYC type of vibe. Our waiter was extremely attentive and the kitchen accommodated our special requests. However... the food was just meh. Not horrible but not great either. I ordered the salmon and got a small sliver of a slice. For the money, I expected a much bigger piece of fish. It tasted ok, but was not well seasoned. My husband's off menu entree (a hamburger) was disappointing as well. He said it was just a cooked hunk of meat without any seasoning or flavor. While the service was top notch, the food just wasn't impressive. We most likely wouldn't return. read more

We dined at the AG Friday evening. First had cocktails at the bar, which was a great experience. The bar creations were very good, but the highlight was the Smoked Old Fashioned; a great drink and a show in creating it. Dinner was another thing. Service was friendly. We ordered Salmon and a N.Y. Strip with king crab on top. The salmon was good, but the steak was ordered medium rare and arrived over cooked, more like medium well. They offered me another, which I accepted. They also offered a replacement side of mashed potatoes as the original ones were cold when the steak arrived, but they never came. My wife had finished her salmon before my replacement steak arrived, as she should have in order to eat it hot. They offered an apology, but no concession on price, or free dessert, or removal of a glass wine from the check. Between cocktails, dinner and tip we were above $300. At that price, there should be fewer mistakes. read more

Definitely Ritz-level prices, but good is ehhh okay. Petite 4oz filet is $25 and comes with a bit of whipped potatoes and some Broccoli. The petite was fine, though a bit salty. I did appreciate that it was served rare just the way I like it! However, the potatoes are way too salty almost similar to some boxed spuds. Bartender was alone so she was quite swamped but not a lot of help from others, like the hostess or servers. Hopefully next visit will be better read more

Very disappointing. Service was sloooooow, and our waiter just disappeared for long periods of time. After we finally ordered, another table was seated, ordered, served, and ate before any of our food came out. When it finally came out, some steaks were undercooked and some were overcooked. Scallops were nicely cooked but almost inedibly salty. The macaroni and cheese we ordered finally came as we were nearly finished eating. A bottle of wine finally arrived after we were done eating (and was graciously comped). We complained (and I never complain), but the service didn't improve. I went here for lunch in between conference meetings. I assumed that a restaurant at the Ritz Carlton would be good. The space is nice and the staff was very friendly. I have no complaints about the staff. I ordered the lamb tortellini that comes with an asparagus salad. It sounded perfect for lunch. It was so salty that it was inedible. While my waitress offered to get me something else, I was pressed for time. I paid the $20 for this meal. I told the hostess of my disapointment, she aaid that she would comp the meal, but I already paid for it. As I left saying I would be Yelping about the meal, she said she would refund my money. Wonderful atmosphere so we anticipated a sophisticated environment for a lovely evening dinner. That thought was totally spoiled by poor service and patronizing management. It took 15 min to get a glass of wine, appetizer was tasty, then we surprised the waiter by asking if we could order dinner, 8oz filet mignon, baked fish, sides. Then great hot bread arrived. Hopeful, we ordered another glass of wine which never came. The meal was finally served, the steak was dry and cold, the fish was warm but obviously both were sitting somewhere forgotten. The waiter was no where to be found. We stopped a manager walking by who looked at the food as though there was nothing wrong with it, but finally came to his senses. He offered to recook a steak, meanwhile the fish got colder. We had to help the manager recognize we expected to enjoy dinner together. The manager did bring the wine we had ordered 20 minutes earlier. Overall, it probably has potential, but we didn't see it and will not return even though it is an extremely convenient location for us. read more

We had an excellent anniversary dinner here. I made a reservation and they had a special booth for us and rose petals on the table, very romantic. The server provided excellent service, a little snobby but to be expected at the Ritz. The steaks were great and we got to choose the type of butter on top (I chose blue cheese butter). The creme brulee was awesome. I think the best thing was the ambiance. This is a beautiful restaurant in an amazing hotel. We took a walk around the hotel before dining. It is breath-taking. I compare this restaurant to some of the best in Atlanta (Bones/Capital Grille/etc) for atmosphere and service. The food was maybe SLIGHTLY less tasty but still a fine destination for a romantic date. You may want to go in later at night because we noticed some hotel guest dining w/ kids around 6:30pm. Fabulous food and Fabulous service. What more can you hope to find! We had been incorrectly informed that brunch buffet was served until 1pm (instead of correct time 11:30am), and when we came at 11:50am, they ceased all break-down and several staff stayed extra just to make it happen for us. The omelette station chef (excellent omelettes) and Katrina, were stand out wonderful among the all 5-star staff of the Atlanta Grill. The food was fantastic both meals we enjoyed there. read more

Last night, my friends and I wandered in here after the mostly empty Alma Cocina couldn't seat us. The contrast couldn't have been greater. At the Atlanta Grill, the hostess engaged us in a welcoming and lively conversation, and she worked to place us at a table where we could enjoy the view. Our waiter alerted us to the fact that happy hour was almost over and encouraged us to take advantage of it to try a local brew. Two of us ordered the special, an 8 oz filet topped with lump crab in a Béarnaise sauce with a red wine reduction. It was a delicious combination of complementary flavors. The steaks were cooked perfectly. For sides we had mashed potatoes and grilled asparagus. I didn't try the asparagus, but there wasn't any leftover, so it must have been good! The potatoes were creamy and flavorful. I can't remember the last time I ate a meal without adding salt. Everything was perfectly seasoned. As a bonus, our waiter provided excellent service and lovely conversation. This was an excellent dining experience. The food was incredible, and the staff were charming and efficient. read more
