Visited 3 times while staying at the hotel. Food was very good all three times. Service was very aloof. Brunch buffet: The first morning, when I came back from the buffet, the check was already on my table. I'm all for efficiency, but at least let me finish a round. Meanwhile, my coffee and water weren't refilled until I finally asked a different server who was kind enough to help. As a former server, I left a good tip anyway, and the second morning service from the same gal was improved, although still disorganized. It seemed like servers were given tables on a rotation instead of by station. I get that when it's slow, but during regular meal service that's an inefficient way to have to work the floor and leads to gaps in service. Dinner: This was frustrating. I had planned my Saturday night dinner around the cowboy steak. I sat at the bar and placed my order. The bartender came back a couple minutes later and told me they were out of cowboy steak. I understand being out of an entree item on a Tuesday, but on Saturday evening? And servers and bartenders should know as soon as items are 86'ed so they can tell guests at the moment they're ordering. Food: The organic tomato basil soup had no flavor. I'm glad it wasn't just brine, which tomato soup often is, but was hoping for some really flavorful soup given the menu description. Maybe it was just an off day. The NY Strip was very good. It was cooked perfectly: a beautiful medium-well and uniform throughout. Nice job, chef. Back to service: The bartender never checked on me after the food was dropped, not even to refill my drink. It was as if she went out of her way to avoid me. She was friendly enough, so I really couldn't figure it out. I finally had to ask for the check and went up to my room to down some water. In sum, I think the service needs some training and supervision/organization to bring it to the next level. So we stayed at the Ritz Carlton this past 4th of July weekend and dined at the AG quite a few times during our stay. Let me start off by saying the food at the AG was well prepared & delicious albeit it being standard fare (nothing special for the prices being charged). Of everything we had the breakfast buffet stood out as they had quite the spread; especially when it came to pastries. I am a big fan of perfect the Viennoiserie and they didn't disappoint, so kudos to whoever is making their yummy pastries. I've docked this restaurant a star because of the inattentive of some the wait staff and the slowness of the food being delivered to the table. The worst we experienced was on Monday during breakfast. We went expecting the breakfast buffet because even though it was a week day the hotel was full (due to multiple weddings and the holiday weekend) and it just made sense to offer the buffet instead of an al á cart menu. The restaurant was semi full and there was a total of four staff waiting on tables. The Asian lady (I am sorry I didn't catch her name) who waited on us just took our order, dropped some toast at the table and then disappeared never to come back and see if we needed anything. It took about 30 minutes for breakfast to be served and in the meantime we ordered some cappuccino. Unfortunately the cappuccino didn't show even after we had finished our breakfast (a full 45 or so minutes after we walked in for breakfast) and since we were in a hurry we asked for the drinks to go. When we finally did get it, the cappuccino was cold and undrinkable so that was a gigantic waste of about 5 bucks a piece. So to round up dinner at the AG is good (if you want to shell out a lot of money for regular steak house fair), the breakfast buffet is the best and worth the 28/person, but if you are eating here make sure you have plenty of time as service isn't fast and they are understaffed. read more

My fiancé and I decided to dine here just trying try something new. I'm not one to pick restaurants inside of hotels but this spot turned out to be pretty good. My absolute favorite part of this place was the terrace! It is the perfect place to sit and enjoy a meal when the weather is so perfect. I ordered the red snapper and my fiancé ordered the hanger steak (waiters recommendation). Both were really good. Their drinks were all just OK, but I liked the fancy and different ways they prepared and served them. We decided to have breakfast here on our last morning in Atlanta. We had a late start to our morning so we didn't get to the restaurant till 11A. We needed to be out of there by 12 cause we had to catch our fight at 3. So apparently they stop serving food between 11:00A to 11:30A to switch from breakfast to lunch. They had given us the lunch menu even though we really wanted breakfast. So at about 11:15 the manager came and said we could still order breakfast or we would have to wait till 11:30 to put our lunch order in. So we ordered the eggs n potatoes, an order of Pecan Waffles and fresh berries in a light cream. And our breakfast was delicious. Everything was on point. I usually only get my cheesy eggs in the south. There just so much better there. The berries were definitely fresh and so nice and refreshing. The restaurant is located inside the Ritz-Carlton. If it wasn't so cold it would have been really nice to sit in the patio area. But since it was freezing we got a table by the window but didn't have much of a view. The manager was very nice and very accommodating. Very well worth the price. And such gorgeous decor. read more

My girlfriend and I stayed in Ritz Carlton for 2 nights. We were attending a conference, so at the end of the day we were tired, hence opted for the Atlanta Grill in the hotel. The experience was remarkable. A group of older distinguished jazzmen provided an incredible entertainment reminiscent of American authentic jazz era. The food was pretty good. However what made our experience so special was the customer service we received. I specifically want to mention 3 gentlemen: Bake, the manager, Vangel and Armen who went out of their way to make sure we were taken care of. My husband and I decided to treat ourselves to a "nice" dinner while we were in Atlanta and we got exactly what we expected. The restaurant is located in downtown Atlanta in the Ritz-Carlton Hotel. The restaurant is decorated in, what I call, classic luxury - dark wood walls and columns, dim lighting with candles and lamps at some tables. According to this amateur wine drinker, they seemed to have a large selection of types and brands of wine. Every single item that we ordered was beyond delicious! I ordered the bone-in filet mignon, which was perfectly cooked and provided an explosion of flavor! For our sides we split the whipped potatoes, crispy hen of the woods mushroom, and Cotswold mac and cheese. As I stated before, everything tasted fantastic, but OMG the mushrooms were phenomenal!!! I would recommend this item to everyone who chooses to eat at Atlanta Grill. For dessert, I ordered my most favorite item - crème brulee - at this point, I don't need to tell you as you probably guessed by now...it was also fantastic. I would, without a doubt, come back to Atlanta Grill. Everyone needs to eat here when they visit "The Capitol of the South." YUM! read more

I work right next to this place and it never comes to mind when thinking about lunch, mainly because it is a forgettable experience at least from a food perspective. I found the food ok, but not wow. I expected more since it was attached to the Ritz, but apparently the Ritz quality doesn't rub off on this place. Good view if you sit outside. Had dinner at the restaurant while staying at the hotel. Although the food was good and service amazing, the kitchen had a couple of mishaps with our order. The steak came out a bit too raw when ordered medium well and the kids cheeseburger with no cheese and had to be redone. They did make up for it with free dessert which was great. The Atlanta Grill is one of my favorite restaurants and one if the best in downtown. The staff is always excellent and the good is great. The menu is rather small but all of the options that I have tried are wonderful. The trout is light and full of flavor. The bar is well stocked but could have as better scotch list. I normally wouldn't eat at a hotel restaurant. I've learned my lesson far too many times traveling for work. When eating at a Ritz Carlton restaurant, you should expect certain things. Great food and great service comes to mind. My recent dining experience was horrible. We had a party of 10 and sat down at 8pm. Drink orders didn't occur until 8:30. Yes, we sat there for 30 mins until we had to flag someone down for our water glasses to be filled. Once that happened, we figured service would improve. By 9pm, we got to order food. By 9:45, our food finally started to trickle out of the kitchen. No apologies from staff during the entire meal. Drinks were never refilled. 4 people at the table got the salmon, which was fishy and overcooked. My veggie plate was alright, but not worth $25. The short rib was tasty, but overpriced for the amount. I have never experienced such terrible wait service at a restaurant. I've had better service at far less expensive restaurants. We finally got out of there around 11:30pm. I never have to eat at a Ritz Carlton again. read more

My family and I are staying at the Ritz and for our last night we decided to try the restaurant connected to the the hotel "AG" I can say with 100% certainty that this was the WORST mistake we've made this trip. My husband ordered the Cowboy steak $96 it was over cooked not medium rare like he ordered and extremely gamey. I ordered their $69 wagyu "specialty" burger it was awful no matter how hard I tired to like it it just wasn't good, it was dry and overly sweet, the steak fries it came with were not cooked all the way, I won't even get into the sweet potato compote on the side. As if that wasn't enough, the AG baked potato had a sour taste and the lobster was dry and rubbery, the Mac and cheese extra watery, the only decent dish out the entire meal was the whipped potato. I will definitely not be coming back to dine at AG $225 down the drain. read more

Overpriced and absolutely deplorable service. I stayed at the Ritz for the better part of a week and had occasion to dine several times in their restaurant, the Atlanta Grill. The food, on average, was underwhelming and certainly not worth the exorbitant prices charged. Even worse was the service, from the disinterested waiters to the hosts who found no real need to step up their efforts when the numbers of prospective diners grew at the host's stand. The service experience was capped by a wait of 45 minutes from the time I placed an order for a simple lunch penne pasta dish to it finally being revealed there had been a "mistake in the kitchen" and they were now hurrying to get my lunch out to me. I came for breakfast and ordered off the menu instead of the std buffet. Eggs benedict were perfect as were the steel cut oatmeal w/ fresh blueberrys.
