This past ice storm killed my Trane HVAC system. The system was old and not maintained very well; regardless, the situation was an emergency and AG Heating Cooling Duct Cleaning was the only business in the Alexandria area that responded immediately. Mark told me that the system was not patchable and after 17 years I wasn't surprised. He told me that they would send two quotes by the afternoon. I checked the prices for the quotes and they were very reasonable, so I made arrangements for the order. AG got back to me and stated that the unit was at the shop and they would be there the next day to install it. The install was on 29 January and the elements were not ideal. Mark and Melvin showed up and had the new system installed and running in several hours. I was impressed with the professionalism and teamwork of Mark and Melvin. Finally, Mark walked me through the inside and outside unit and told me to call if anything was not working properly. He was professional and courteous, and he stated that AG would be back in the spring to check that the unit was running properly (part of the plan AG offers to customers). I appreciate the professional and sense of urgency that AG Heating and Cooling (Mark/Melvin) showed me during this unprecedented weather event. Terrific Experience! I'm not usually one to leave a review, but when credit is due, credit is due! I reached out to Antonio on Tuesday evening regarding our situation of melting in the warm air with no AC. I could survive ok, but the wife, no so much. Mike came out the very next day (before noon!) and was able to determine the issue in seconds. Thankfully, not the compressor unit. Mike installed a replacement capacitor and we were back up and running. After watching the gauges that he had connected to the outdoor unit, he could see the freon was low. Added some freon and now we're good to go. The whole time he was here, I stood outside with him watching him work and asking him questions. He was so willing to freely discuss what was going on, what to look for on the gauges, different possibilities of things that can happen with the unit, and so on. What a terrific professional all around! It's the exact way a service experience should be. Great job Mike and Antonio. This is a updated review since I used this company to repair my a/c oil leak last year. After first repair in last April the problem was not resolved, and then we waited two months for second fix in June. The communication process was not easy and comfortable. In this early July we began to use a/c again and find it is hard to cool down (i.e., it takes about 3 hrs to lower 2 degree above 80, below 80 it keeps running without significant impact). We suspect the coolant is still leaking and contacted Mr. Antonio Gonzalez for check. After one week, NO response is received and we have to find an alternative solution. We DON'T recommend it based on professionalism, honesty, and communication experience. read more

Our AC went out at 5PM on the evening before a BIG heat wave. PANIC! I looked into a lot of HVAC techs and Antonio responded first and said he'd send a tech out first thing in the morning (8AM) and no charge to take a look. GREAT! Mike came promptly at 8AM, was able to diagnose the problem with our older condenser unit, charged us a very fair price and got the unit fixed by 9AM. He did not try and sell us anything extra beyond the much needed repair. We are now relaxing in our nice and COOL air conditioned home while outdoors is 105 degrees. Technician arrived within the time that was scheduled. He went straight to work removing the old ac unit and replacing it with the new one. He told me before he got started how long the process would take. The quoted price for removal and install was the best one I had gotten. The tech was very professional and kept me informed as to what needed to be done. The unit I got was a split unit meaning it is a heat pump and also an AC unit. I only needed AC pump. He had to rewire furnace to accept it and install new thermostat, but it all worked out. The AC is working fine now. For the price and good service, I would recommend AG Heating and Cooling!!! read more

Service and communication are unmatched. They came and measured the areas on a Monday and full install was completed on that following Saturday. I was previously quoted $4,800 to fix my old unit and $10,000 to replace it by a different company. Working with AG I received a very comprehensive quote and then I was sent away for work. I was able to pick up where we left off and everything was done within a week. Mike (the HVAC tech) was amazing and was able to explain everything. Our furnace gave out during the holidays. They were able to come out Christmas Eve and take a look. They let us know our furnace was done and helped us order another one ASAP. There were delays with the furnace manufacturer due to holidays and snow, but even then AG heating and cooling came out to try to trouble shoot our furnace for a temporary fix while waiting for the new one to come in. Once our furnace came in, they installed it ASAP. They were reliable, patient, helpful, responsive and empathetic. I came home to a non functioning HVAC. It was Saturday after 5pm. I was ready to find a hotel as my animals were over heated and my elderly mother was visiting. I started a search for service and was preparing to pay for a hotel for a few nights. I was thrilled AG responded to my request within 30 minutes. The tech arrived as schedule, he was professional and figured out the issue, made the repair, checked all my system levels, reset my system and cleaned a few coils. Last Monday 04/07/25 my HVAC system was replaced. My appointment was scheduled for 8:00am. Antonio and his assistant arrived early, which was very impressive to me. It was a rainy day so they would have to trek through a little mud, but they came prepared with blankets to put down so my carpet wouldn't get dirty. They immediately got to work.
