    Buffet at Fire show
    Renee D.

This fire show was great. The buffet was just OK unfortunately I did not find all of the food flavorful, but the one thing that was amazing was the Kahlúa pork. During the fire show if you bought the package, make sure to buy it at the front desk you'll get 30% off. It gives you also two complimentary Mai Tai but all in all the fire show was good.

I thoroughly enjoyed this unique performance including education about the culture. Very talented folks who dance with fire in many different ways. Some of their techniques I've never seen before attending this show. I found it very interesting and intriguing. Thank you!

Me and Heat with cast and crew. They are fabulous! Go! Go! Go!

I loved this show. My wife (Heather) did as well. Close up fire magic with dinner. Who can complain? Great Hawaiian cultural education. Beautiful dancers. Magnificent fire managers. Loved the Hulu dancer -- what hands! The old guy with white hair, reminded me of (an idealized) me! (I had a lot of great videos that could not be uploaded.) Go see this show!

Choppin spreading hot fire. What an incredible show.

This was an a great show for my family. We lived on Kauai for several years and never got the chance to see this show live. It was amazing and a great family experience. What a great night. Hope to see it again in the near future. Book early because they often sellout.

Popular menu items include ahi katsu 10/10, chili pepper chicken 9/10, and Hawaii's own- loco moco (not a huge fan in general). They offer a variety of other options, including poke, ramen, and sandwiches, with convenient takeout and delivery available. It's definitely a local favorite due to its generous portions, authentic Hawaiian cuisine and friendly service. We ordered the fried chicken and poke combo with wonton chips and the ahi katsu (my absolute fav). The ahi was fried to perfection- crispy on the outside while rare and tender on the inside. The sauce on the katsu was absolutely fire!!! So good! Macaroni salad was creamy and delicious. And the rice was perfect. Obviously, you cannot visit Hawaii without having some of their poke- always fresh and delightfully tasty. The marinade was savory and packed with flavor.

Its right off a main road and you cannot miss it. Parking lot was a bit small, but there was plenty of parking. AMBIANCE: When I went there was plenty of seating. A bit dead, but I also did go pretty early. There were a bunch of decor of older American pop culture like Bruce Lee, Chuck Norris, etc. But also Hawaiian themed decor (obviously). SERVICE: You gotta walk up to the front to order. I was approached almost immediately as soon as I walked up to the menu on the screen. The girl working was super friendly and welcoming. I made my order and she gave me a pager for when my food was ready. FOOD: I ordered the chili pepper chicken, which was recommended from the girl at the counter. My friend ordered the ahi katsu. The chili pepper chicken was good! It was crispy and extremely flavorful. It was slightly too salty for my taste, but luckily the rice does help balance it out. Some of the crispness was sacrificed for the sauce, but it was overall still pretty crispy. I loved that they used boneless chicken thigh. I was expecting bones or lots of breading but it actually had a perfect ratio. I wasn't much a fan of the mac salad. It was like a mix of mac and potato salad, but more like a potato salad. I'm not big on potato salad, so that makes sense. My friend's ahi katsu was alright in my opinion. The sauce that's on it was good and enjoyed all the flavors. The tuna was just a bit overcooked to my liking, but idk how else one would make a katsu without overlooking it too much. Maybe bread the fish and freeze it before frying? Idk man, I'm not a chef lol but the tuna would definitely be better if it was less cooked. OVERALL: Honestly, I would still come here again. I still enjoyed the meal and the service was pretty quick. Both items were both worth trying. All the flavors were there and the little things I didn't like were just personal preferences. Its a great place to pick up a lunch plate and enjoy it at the beach.

I can't remember exactly which poke varieties we got, but I believe one was their shoyu poke and the other was a spicy ahi. Regardless, everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. This is exactly the kind of mom-and-pop spot I love finding while traveling. No frills, just friendly people serving great food at reasonable prices. The poke was fresh, the karaage was flavorful, and the lau lau was tender and comforting. The staff was welcoming, the portions were generous, and the prices were fair, especially considering the quality of the food. There are plenty of places to eat on Kauai, but spots like this are what make a trip memorable. We'll definitely be back the next time we're on the island.

My husband had the 2 item combo with kalua pork and poke adobo; both were very tasty -- the pork adobo was nice and tender and not too salty (just right). The service was friendly and fairly quick. The entrees were the highlight of the meal. I had the mahi mahi, my husband had the filet mignon, and we split the arugula salad--each of those dishes was excellent. Our friends shared the pasta and really enjoyed it as well. Unfortunately, the appetizers and dessert were disappointing. I wouldn't recommend the firecracker shrimp; it was soggy and there was no "fire" or kick at all. We also tried the oysters, which we were told were fresh from Washington State, but they didn't smell or taste fresh to us, and they were so large we couldn't eat them. Dessert was another miss--the chocolate torte was dry and tasted like cardboard. One other issue: the wind was whipping through the restaurant the entire time, making it uncomfortably cold. We ended up wearing our raincoats throughout dinner, which really took away from the experience. Overall, great service and strong entrees, but the temperature/wind problem and the uneven appetizer/dessert quality would make us think twice about returning.

We went on a Saturday around lunchtime and it wasn't too busy. There is a small parking lot near the restaurant on the left hand side. It was filled when we first got there, but we were luckily able to get a spot. I could see this lot filling up quickly during other meal rush hours, so do take note if you plan on driving. The ordering is done like your typical poke place, you tell the service worker what you would like and there's a small toppings bar at the end before the cashier. There was a small line when we went, and even with the line, it still only took about 5-10 minutes to get our food. There isn't interior seating in the restaurant though, you will have to get your food take out, or just eat in the parking lot. I got the 3 scoops of poke option for $15.25, and I think that this is a pretty solid deal for the variety of fish that you can try out! I think based on my personal experience on Kaua'i, it will be difficult to get food, especially poke at a reasonable price. But for this price, it's probably the best place on the island to get poke without paying $20+ for the same variety. The fish tasted fresh, and I am a fan of the selection of toppings they had. If you are in the Lihue area and looking to try some poke at a reasonable price, I would recommend The Fish Express! There seems to be a decent amount of other interesting looking options on the menu, and if I'm ever in the area again, I would totally give them a try!
