Once I contacted them again several months later, he was at my door the next day to verify the work that would be required. We discussed air conditioning, because my electrical panel is old, updating is required and would need to be completed before final A/C installation. We decided to go ahead and add the A/C coil so I wouldn't have to pay more later for updating the ducting as it had to be changed to fit the new furnace anyway. He gave a good recommendation for using the BTU size for our house. This, combined with moving the thermostat near the air intake really changed the way the house feels. There are less cold and hot spots in the house compared to our old setup. I'll be calling them again after the electrical updates are made so we can add the A/C. read more

Went on Yelp and did a search looking for someone who could help us with our Carrier furnace that all of a sudden stopped working a few days ago. The Yelp engine pulled up a couple of other businesses (Air AC Construction was one of them) when I asked it to send out the job to others and I'm so glad that they included Air AC Construction. Dmitri was very responsive on messaging and come by as promised and on time. When I turned on the furnace, it was working for some reason. I felt a little bad because he made a trip out here but the furnace seemed to be working fine. He took the time to explain to me that it likely shut down temporarily because of a variety of reasons. Before leaving he gave me tips to keep the filters changed frequently and let me know that the thermostat module that we have could cause a problem in the future and we may need to replace it. He didn't try to upsell or recommend anything I didn't need. Overall, he was very courteous, wearing a mask and wiping his shoes before entering the house, honest, knowledgeable about his craft and I'm sure amazing to work with. I am delighted to write this review. I still can't tell if it's a Bay Area problem or it's generally true, finding a reliable contractor has been incredibly challenging in the last few years. I got referred to Dmitri from a Chinese website and it is told that he is really good at AC repair( which turned out to be true) I hired different contractor for quote and the ones before Dmitri seems not have a lot of patients and immediately dropped the conclusion that my AC pipe might be leaking and he couldn't fix it, he offered to add some Freon for $550. ( my scenario is 1 AC unit and split to 2nd and 3rd floor, 3rd floor works fine and 2nd floor does not have any flow coming in) I was suspecting that 2nd floor controller is having the issue so I asked Dmitri to double check for me today. He first use a machine to check and detect no leak of my AC pipeline( which I thought so too) then he double checked my 3rd floor and 2nd floor AC blowing port and eventually determined my 2nd floor control panel is bad, after opened it he found out the controller is fried with black marks, so the only solution is to replace that since Honeywell no longer produced the 10 years old controller. I happened to have a nest controller so I asked Dmitri's help to replace the Honeywell controller with nest, right after replacement the 2nd floor AC started working( hasn't been working for half a year). The total end up charge is $225 which I think it is fair. They showed up early (I was impressed) went right to work on the diagnostics and in a very short period of time showed me the defective capacitor which was the source of my ACs problem! He had the right capacitor on his truck and replaced it in a very short period of time and tested the unit. Dmitri explained that we could get the same name brand AC system or save with a generic version that uses the same manufactured parts. After some research, he was correct. Warrant was the same too. So, I saved myself about $2k. On the day of the job, his crew crew covered the flooring with sheets, managed to work through some tricky wiring in my old house, and got AC running by the same day. I would HIGHLY recommend Dmitri! We got our furnace replaced and AC installed in the summer. He responded very quickly on Yelp when I looked for a quote, he showed up on time (he said 8am in the morning then he showed up at 8am!), he gave reasonable quote, he and his dad worked very professionally and with high quality, he communicated clearly why we need to do this and do that, they cleaned things up after work. Also, he contacted later to see if everything worked correctly. Two things I want to highlight. We lived in the townhouse and when he almost finished installing the AC, our neighbor came and said she wanted us to remove it because of the potential noise (though we actually got her approval before the project started)! Highly recommended! With impeccable timing, our very old furnace sprang a gas leak in the middle of a cold snap and a pandemic. After leaving messages with a few HVAC companies and then sitting around for two days huddled under electric blankets, we put out a message on Yelp.
