To celebrate our 3rd Year of being committed to each other in love, honor & respect, Dave took me to Alberto's in Hyannis for dinner. A chance to get dressed up for a change and practice our best social manners with the nicest, more refined people around! (She says, tongue in cheek) Emerson, our very handsome, polite and most professional server gave us excellent, attentive service with a great smile. After we ordered he returned with two glasses of white wine, and wished us a very happy anniversary! Gratis...on the house! We were not rushed at any point, even though every table was filled and there was a line waiting to be seated. The atmosphere was nice but I wouldn't say there was anything special about the ambiance there. But the service and wonderful food more than made up for it! All the servers and busboys worked seamlessly as a team. Each helped the other making sure there were no accidents, no mistakes with service and our table was cleaned and another couple was seated before we were out the door!! It was very impressive! Description of our meals are captioned with each photo. I had Veal Milanese with a lemony beurre blanc sauce, and Dave had Chicken Parmesan dinner. Veal was not an option for the Prix Fixe meals, we paid a small upgrade fee, et Voila! Came with No sauce, so I asked for a lemony beurre blanc that you usually get with the chicken Milanese. He offered to bring their regular beurre blanc to which I agreed. It sure tasted lemony to me! Perfecto! Ice water was poured and a basket of fresh, crusty, holey rustic bread with olive oil and butter were served before our waiter introduced himself! From that point on the service, the meal, dessert was flawlessly executed and sumptuously devoured...with pinkies up, of course!!! We left with the intention of walking by the waterfront but ended up visiting the Artist Shanties! We met and chatted with 6 very talented and creative ladies. Time to head back home. This is one of those dining experiences where everything was just solid and on point. You can tell they take a lot of pride in service quality. And they certainly take pride in food quality. My lobster roll was quite good. The roll was soft and sweet. Lobster meat was plentiful. Maybe a touch less quality than you might find farther north in Maine. But certainly very good. We really loved the lobster ravioli. That had a fantastic flavor with the saffron sauce. The meatballs on the side were definitely authentic in my mind and I'd give them to my grandmother who is our resident meatball expert in my family. The boy devoured his chicken cutlet and said it was almost as good as the ones I make at home. I tasted and I agree. Italian chicken cutlets are best with a simple recipe, and you can tell they know that here. This place deserves its reputation. read more

We have had great experiences here. We have had friendly servers who are welcoming and helpful. The atmosphere inside is great. Comfortable, spacious enough, and super clean and classy. It's really great in the off season too. Nothing cozier around the holidays or on a cold night. Not to say it isn't great in summer! Can't go wrong with the menu honestly. we were excited to try this restaurant but it definitely disappointed. one of my friends ordered the pappardelle (which is an entree item that comes with sauce, not just a type of pasta). the waiter brings out something completely different, so she let them know. they proceeded to bring out plain pappardelle noodles with no sauce, and then told my friend that she should've asked for the dish differently although that it what the menu item is called. nothing was comped and it seemed the staff had no desire to fix our experience whatsoever. drinks were great but don't come here read more

we booked a reservation just a few hours beforehand for our saturday evening dinner at 7pm. the restaurant is big, busy, and packed to the brim. when we arrived, we waited about 15 minutes before being seated. a lady came by our booth and pour us some water. we later found out the same person was suppose to give us the bread. other tables around us were given bread. i asked three times after our soup and apps came with no success. we ordered a couple cocktails, clam chowder soup, seafood platter, orvietta, and lobster ravioli. the cocktails were served first. the soup came out then the seafood platter. by this time we have been asking for the house bread for the third time from four different people - nothing. our soup and app was almost finished, house bread came out. shortly after the entrees were served. the shrimp and scallop orveitto was a little over cooked. the flavor is good. the gnocchi was ok. the lobster ravioli was ok. octopus ink was used but not described in the menu. parking is free in the back f the restaurant. read more

We started with 2 martinis (Cape Cod Pretty in Pink and the Lemon-tini) and the Riesling. Everything was great! Highly recommend the Pretty in Pink. To start we had a bowl of Clam Chowder and the fried calamari. The chowder was DELICIOUS. Some of the best I've had. The calamari was good, but a bit chewy for me. The aioli they paired with it was great! For dinner, we had the chicken alla vodka (10/10) the truffle gnocchi (11/10) and the chicken carbonara (10/10). We all took home a chocolate mousse, and are still eating it 3 days later. LOVED it. Our server was great, would totally recommend to anyone looking for a nicer, upscale italian dinner. read more

We were here with our tour group for dinner, and this place was talked up by our tour guide. We had a limited menu and ordered wine (very expensive for small pours). My beef short rib entree was fine but my wife was disappointed by her baked scrod entree (several other of our tour were disappointed as well), especially based on the description. Perhaps their a la carte menu options are better. A peek at their website shows that prices are pretty high, so know that going in. Frankly, we were expecting more and got it several days later when we dined in Boston's North End. read more

Our server Armin was excellent. He was very attentive to our needs. My husband got Zuppa di pesce and it was quite tasty. For entrees I ordered the special which was 3 jumbo shrimp served with their lobster ravioli with a vodka sauce and my husband got scallops and shrimp Fiorentino. Alberto's is a family favorite when we are on the Cape. Atmosphere is lovely. The Zuppa de Pesce is scrumptious. Fellow diners loved the clam chowder as well. My sister and I had scallops and shrimp served over a bed of sautéed spinach. We both loved our meals. Fellow diners enjoyed chicken Piccata and both the veal and chicken zingarella. The waitstaff is attentive and handled our large party of 12 without a hitch. It's my 4th visit to Alberto's and I will always return when in the area. I highly recommend. read more

Food was good, and outdoor seating was fun on the 4th of July. Poor review is based almost wholly on the very poor service we received. Waiter tried to rush us 3-4 different times, claiming "we are very busy tonight." We ordered appetizers, and he asked us to order our main courses at the same time. We declined, but still ordered the main meal when he brought our first round of drinks. He brought our appetizers, and said, "Your meals are ready so can I place them all on the table now?" Again, we said no, as we had just received our appetizers, so we saw him take our meals back to the heat lamps. He pushed us again to accept our meals before we were half-way done with our appetizers, and then pushed us again to order dessert well in advance of finishing our meal. We finally confronted him on his brusk approach, telling him that he was ruining our dining experience, and he said, "No I'm not, but we're really busy tonight." But he finally backed off and let us finish in peace. No level of business, even on the 4th of July, justifies this terrible service, and while the food was just OK, it certainly doesn't warrant a return visit. read more

We had a lovely dinner last night at Alberto's restaurant in Cape Cod. The atmosphere is upscale, but you can dine casually outdoors as well. The food was very flavorful and presented very nicely. We started with a crispy calamari that was prepared differently in that it had a cornmeal batter, it was exceptionally crunchy, different but tasty. Hubby opted for the veal chop that was grilled beautifully with a nice char, it was served with a side of linguine with meat sauce and accompanied by asparagus. I chose a dish that featured shrimp and scallops over homemade pappardelle pasta with spinach. It was a huge portion and very satisfying. Thanks for a very poor New Years Eve experience. Firstly, if you take reservations, make sure you don't overload yourself. We had a reservation and were seated nearly 45 minutes late. People with later times were being seated before us. Waited patiently, but when I finally complained we were, coincidentally, seated. Of 4 dinners, 2 entrees were over cooked (and dry duck just isn't edible) and one was near cold. The server was great, but couldn't make up for everything else. For a place that's been around for so long you'd think they'd know how to deal with a busy night. At least say "sorry for the wait". read more

White linen tablecloths, experienced and cordial waitstaff, and a menu of Italian choices that should satisfy almost everyone. I'm a year round Cape resident and it's nice to be in a restaurant that does not have the standard Cape Decor. We enjoyed simple pasta and chicken dishes and a Cesar Salad. I am already looking forward to my next visit and plan to be a bit more adventurous in my menu selections. read more

Short Ribs couldn't be better. Chicken parmigiana, for a non Italian restaurant was excellent. Though the chicken wasn't pounded out, it was a big thick chicken breast, not a cutlet.Every dish, on every plate looked great. Cocktails were fabulous, didn't have any straight drinks so I don't know if they're generous, or measured shots. Seating is very tight. My friends and I were visiting the Cape & was looking for a nice restaurant to celebrate a friends birthday with a nice dinner & we're so happy we cane across Alberto's! The outside dining made it a nice evening as the weather was perfect & the sun was beautifully setting. The tables are a good distance apart even if you have parties of 7. We came across this restaurant because it's the only place that accepts parties of 7 which was so great and convenient for us. The service was great, the food was amazing. We recently celebrated my mother's 100th birthday in one of the private dining rooms, Portofino, and everything went so wonderfully! From our initial contact with Darko in organizing the menu, etc. to the staff who served us on Saturday at 4:30 to 8pm. The staff was so friendly and professional. The food was delicious and everyone was able to order something they liked from the menu we chose to the tiramisu dessert that my mother has always enjoyed at Albertos. I went to Alberto's at 5 p.m. on Saturday, June 8th, and was Extremely Disappointed. The restaurant was not busy, therefore I thought the kitchen would have been ready and able to produce a nice meal. I was wrong. I ordered the Farcite Napoletana. The food was no better than room temperature. I was told the dish had a large amount of cheese, and this was correct, but it was all bland, freeze-burned, and tasteless. It appeared that the rolled eggplant was pre-frozen and simply placed on a plate with a large portion of slice cheese on top. The eggplant rolls were simply broiled until the cheese was only lightly toasted. The eggplant was plain, leathery, and tasteless. A second person tasted it and claimed they could taste a fishy smell. The penne pasta side dish was cold to the touch, and the sauce was cold and bitter. Even though the penne pasta was cold, it was over-cooked and soft. How can this be? This made me think that it was re-heated older pasta, not fresh at all. My father had the Shrimp & Scallops Fiorentina. He said the pasta was hard, more than simply al dente. It was under-cooked. The ONLY saving grace was the waitress was pleasant and chatty. However, she did not do her job by asking if everything was satisfactory. The kitchen was terribly off. I would not recommend this establishment to anyone unless they change dramatically. I will contact the restaurant and will be willing to change my review if changes are made. read more

We came in for a late lunch 9/22....OH EM GEE...pasta was flavorless and overcooked. I couldn't believe an Italian restaurant would do this. Maybe 50 years ago this place was ok but not anymore. My husband had to ask for extra Parmesan and olive oil so he could flavor his pasta himself. I just didn't eat. Pizza was literally cheese bread. Waiter didn't explain anything on the menu....i had to go get my own high chair and set it up. Honestly....this place...how do I put it... If this place was right next to me and there was an Olive Garden within a 1 hour walk and nothing else existed.....I'd walk to Olive Garden. read more
