I stopped in for a matcha and was seriously impressed. The color was vibrant, the flavor smooth and grassy without being bitter, and the foam on top was perfectly whisked. It had that clean, slightly sweet finish that makes a great matcha so satisfying. Shoutout to Ty for the friendly service and great recommendation -- it made the whole experience even better. Got the strawberry matcha and I would recommend for people who don't like matcha because it straight up tastes like strawberry milk. The matcha is so weak that adding any type of sweetener overtakes the flavor completely. The person who took my order was completely zoned out and started another conversation with other customers after asking what I wanted. Came in this weekend since I was in the area and have always wanted to try Alfred coffee. I'm not much of a coffee drinker but everyone raves about it and saw their iced vanilla latte was popular so decided I had to try. Very cute interior, a small covered patio with seating, and friendly quick service. There is metered street parking available all around and seems like cars are constantly coming and going so shouldn't be too difficult to find parking during the day. Coffee was great! Not too sweet or too strong but just right. I wish I was more of a coffee lover but I would definitely return and try more of their drinks and pastries. read more

Used to love coming here and the coffee was always so good. Been here about 6 times in the last few months and they always get my order wrong. Or they give me a latte that is straight up white. (Why are the lattes never mixed?) Last time I was in I ordered an iced coffee since the lattes have been so bad lately and they made a latte (lol) with the wrong flavor. I let them know my order was just an iced coffee. They remade it and gave me a latte again this time with the right flavor. Just so disappointing. I don't know if I'm just having bad luck or what, but I've gone on different days, when it's busy, when its not. The last couple times I've just gone home and made myself coffee or went to a different coffee spot to get a new one. I work in customer service so I get it, but I always tip and I'm always nice. BUT FIRST, COFFEE....TRULY! Since opening on Melrose Place in 2013, Alfred has made waves with sleek decors, killer customer service, and innovative coffee and tea drinks. I frequently go to the Studio City location and I am very excited they will have one walking distance from me in Sherman Oaks. They have your usual coffee and tea drinks but also some unique beverages/food/merch. What I especially like about them is all the partnerships they have and that they make fun drink sleeves to show the collaborations. I went today since they had a collab with CBS TV/Star Trek Picard for the Emmy FYC season and were giving out Earl Gray Tea, which could be made however you liked. This had to have been the best drink I have had!!! I ordered it so that it was like a London Fog Tea Latte (NF Milk and extra sweet). I also went a few days ago for their collab with CBC TV/ Colbert Report and got an Iced Coffee. They made it exactly how I like it. Whatever is in their simple sysyruprip is like magic. I'm not sure why my reviews won't stick. Been here often enough to try several items: GIBRALTAR - freaking awesome. Real shot of adrenaline. HOT LATTE - the espresso was strong, the milk was teamed to the perfect temperature. HOT MATCHA LATTE - the matcha does not taste like dirt. Read: good quality matcha tea. Outdoor seating only. I keep forgetting how different the vibe is here. It sounds like a lot of people use this coffee shop as a meeting venue. I've given this place a try twice because it's right by the farmers market and so convenient to grab a coffee, but I have to say the cold brew is some of the worst I've ever had. It tastes like water mixed with pennies. Like watery and sharp. The people that work there are not knowledgeable about coffee and cannot answer questions, and the first time I went in, they were straight up dismissive. This is hands down the best Alfred. May has single handedly impacted not only my life and well being but I'm positive, so many others. Since she's come on board (way back when - this update is so long overdue). May built rapport with me and others from literally one week to the next. She knew me by face, name (spelled correctly which everyone always butchers) and order. She brightens everyone's day and whatever she's being paid deserves it 10x over. May makes your coffee and tea experience the type that impacts your overall day/life. She's really just the absolute best. This Alfred has always managed to hire great folks but May is so deserving of a little Yelp review recognition for her service. All in all, everything about this Alfred is 5 STAR. I visit quite often. My current fav drinks are their iced oat matchas with simple syrup, or the Oatnog holiday latte. Their 8oz vanilla or oat latte are my other cold day go to's and iced oat lattes on warmer sun shiny days. I order via mobile app a majority of the time but sometimes order in store. Drinks are almost always ready on arrival, if they aren't and May is there her demeanor and kindness make the most impatient person in the world (me!) feel at ease with waiting a few more minutes. It's truly miraculous the vibe and aura she gives off to the community. Fantastic Alfred! Highly recommend tossing into your coffee or tea rotation if you're in the area. Woah, where to start... parking isn't that great, meters in the front and in the back which was packed. Employees were semi friendly couldn't tell if they were being fake or not which is pretty lame. Suggested tip on register which I'm not a fan of. Pay employees fair wages so tips aren't needed for "good service". Paid like almost $60 for 2 burritos, coffee and a bagel which is outrageous regardless of organic or whatever. Taste was pretty bland and coffee was ok. Overall i can say tried it once but that's all. Wont be going back, don't recommend unless your one of those who just like to waste money but there's better places out there you can get coffee and breakfast burritos for half the price. Ordered two sugar free vanilla lattes via Postmates with an extra shot (3) and extra ice in both - and honestly, they tasted like straight milk. Barely any coffee flavor at all.
