These guys really have restored my faith in Automotive professionals. After getting screwed at a Subaru dealer some years ago, I started working on my car myself. However, when I got to about 120,000 miles, a persistent humming came from the rear of the car when I got above 45 mph. Did some research on the Subaru forums and hypothesized it was likely a wheel bearing going bad, which is a common problem for the Forester, Legacy, Outback models made in the mid-2000s. I took my car to Garage One, and while they did confirm my diagnosis, the price for the replacement wasn't much better than what the dealer would charge. I bought the parts from my old Subaru dealer in Seattle and mulled doing the replacement myself, but concluded the amount of effort and tools involved wouldn't be worth it. So, I started getting quotes from local shops, knowing it would be roughly a 3-4 hour job to replace both rear wheel bearings. The rates quoted were more in line with a 5-6 hour job, and because they weren't supplying the parts, the shops said they wouldn't guarantee the work. Considering I had purchased genuine Subaru parts, that definitely rubbed me the wrong way.and I went back to doing the repair myself. By this point I was at 150,000 miles and the humming from the bad bearing had gotten so bad it was nearly impossible to carry on a conversation while driving. Enter Aligntechs, Since I saw someone else had their bearings changed out, I figured it was worth a try. The price quoted was completely reasonable, and as bonus they threw in a free alignment. And, they had availability the next day. I had already planned to walk to work but they were nice enough to offer a ride. Came back and picked up the car a few hours later. Not only was the humming completely gone, but the alignment had fixed my "loose" steering, which I thought was a due to bubbles in the power steering fluid. So in addition to fixing two problems, they saved me some unnecessary work. Yay! As an added bonus, my gas mileage saw a 2% improvement. I'm not sure if it was the alignment or bearing change that did this, but either way I wish I'd come here at 120k miles rather than 150k, because the gas money would have paid for the work. read more

My car was in need of an alignment because it was pulling to the right and the stability of the car seems to have gotten a bit loose. Decided to call Aligntechs because of the great reviews on YELP. made an appointment for 4pm. By the time i arrived, they test drove my car to see if they can diagnosis the problem i was having. The problem was that the toe and camber were really off which caused instability and extra tread wear. Having a lowered car makes it very difficult to find a place that can fix my alignment because many shops refuse to work on them. But Aligntechs did there best to work with me . They were very honest with there work and didn't take any easy way out. They told me everything that was going to be changed and what they could and couldn't do. As well, the prices were very reasonable ($90) compared to other shops that would charge you nearly 200 dollars just because my car is lowered. Probably one of the most smoothest transactions i've had with a mechanic. Would definitely return for my annual alignments. read more

I went to DVS after reading some of the reviews here and seeing their special for a $60 alignment. I was getting quoted prices of $75 to $100 for an alignment by bigger name shops such as Big O tires, Firestone and wheel works. I called, made an appointment for the next day, and when I arrived they were ready for me. Vic was the tech who drove my car and did the work to it. I explained to him the problems I was having and the front end parts I had just replaced to why I needed an alignment. He took the car for a test drive to see how it was acting and then he got it on the machine. Vic was a really cool guy, he was talking to me about basic guy stuff and asking me about my car and telling me what could be aligned and what couldn't. He's a knowledgeable guy about alignments and mostly about cars in general (although he thought he knew a few things about my car that he didn't). This Hawk Eye alignment technology that they brag about as being the newest and best to me is nothing terribly great. It does the same thing that other alignment systems do, it's just a bit newer. Vic was bragging to me about how I get this great print out with customer friendly bar graphs. It's the same print out that every alignment shop gives you. I was just chuckling with him about that. All in all, I paid $60 labor for an alignment, no tax. Great deal and they were friendly and talked to me about my car a lot. They also do wheels and tires and have a nice selection of aftermarket wheels in their shop. The shop is pretty nice and clean, it's a bit small, but big enough for what they specialize in. I will definitely be going back to these guys if I ever need advice or help with wheel balancing, tires, or an alignment. They have the knowledge and expertise to help you out with aftermarket wheels and modified suspension but they also don't mind taking care of a stock car. read more

Not sure what else I can say that others haven't already said. These are young guys, but very professional and courteous. Not over the top courteous since they were busy but enough where I felt like I was an important customer, especially when they spent a few extra minutes explaining everything that they did and the reports that came out. Place isn't fancy but they have a vending machine and a ton of magazines. Plus, I like the fact that I can see my car being worked on. These guys are awesome, I lowered my 2010 camaro SS and these guys are local so decided to give them a shot. Being a fairly new car i was a little worried at first but these guys had all the tools and now-how and got the job done. Walked in and seen the latest Hunter Hawkeye four-wheel alignment equipment, and was wowed. Vic and another guy, sorry forget name where attentive and great. Took my gf's car here for an alignment and was thoroughly impressed. Her car has fallen out of alignment quickly with uneven tire wear so we're often rotating, aligning and getting new tires pretty frequently. I called in the morning and made an appointment for 1. Got there a bit early and another customer was already there. Greeted friendly by Victor as he was helping another customer. When he got to my car he took it for a test drive real quick and noticed that something was off. Said it was probably a bushing. Him and David was knocking around, checking all the suspension bushings but couldn't really find it. They looked for about 15 minutes and explained to me that it was probably a bushing wearing down. Even though it didn't need to be replaced right away they said it was probably causing the suspension problems. This alone impressed me very much even before the alignment started. Got on with the alignment, was very detailed and explained a lot of the process and meaning of things. Took me for the test drive after to explain some more things. Showed them my yelp check in for $55 alignment so I gave them $60. Definitely found my place for alignment. So much better than any other chains that get you in and out or any discount places. Couldn't have asked for a better experience! I called in earlier this week to make an appointment, and showed up today during my lunch break and my alignment was completed right on time as promised. Much appreciated! Victor came out to show me the charts afterwards and explain why and where my car was pulling to the left (just had new shocks placed on the car). I don't know the reason why people give this place negative reviews. My experience with Victor was amazing. Went in to get an alignment job on my 2002 Chevrolet Silverado. Prior to alignment, these guys inspected my vehicle for 25$, found that my inner tie rods were bad and showed me how to fix it myself. When I returned to get the alignment after the tie rod repair work was completed, they deducted the initial 25$ inspection fee from the bill. I've been going to Aligntechs when Victor owned it. I've used them almost exclusively for many cars (20+) except for special race car setups which I would go to Custom Alignment for. Victor used to charge $80 for an alignment and now the NEW owner is charging double that. Originally quoted $125 on the phone and when I brought my car there, the price changed to $165 because I was bringing in a non-stock spec which we both knew were going to be easily achieved with the current suspension on the car and they weren't much different than stock. The tech did a 20-minute alignment because the rear was already close to spec. The alignment quality is fine, I am happy with the alignment, but I think people can probably find great alignment shops closer to where they live and maybe for a little less $$. I am certainly going to be calling around the next time I need an alignment. Sorry, it's been a good 8-year run. If anyone knows of a performance alignment shop (with better pricing) in the San Jose CA area, please comment. read more

These guys are the best and very affordable. David and Victor are the owners and they did a great job mounting some special tires on my BMW for an autocross event. They even knew that BMW calls for a full tank of gas when aligning. I've sold the BMW and used them for maintenance alignments on our Prius and minivan and five separate occasions. Each time I've elected to have the tires rotated and balanced. They do a very good job of explaining the results of the alignment report that their machine generates. Dealers charge about DOUBLE what they charge. Going anywhere else for alignments, suspension work, or tires is crazy! While you wait they have a waiting area with a ton of magazines, clean bathroom and wifi. What more could you ask for?? read more

Finally found a good place to get my car an alignment without paying too much. The employees were really helpful and felt like they wanted to help me and not just take my money. They explain the problem if any and give you a solution and a realistic opinion when and how to get the problem fixed. Really recommend coming here from your next car alignment and balance. They charge $60 bucks for most compact cars and maybe more depending on your car. Homie also hooked it up with a tire balance for an extra $20 bucks. OH YEAH, if you check in on yelp at there place, they give you $5 bucks off your alignment so $55 along with the great service, this is the best place hands down. I will definitely be back. My Porsche 914 had too low a ride height. I was preparing to take it on a rally with a bunch of other guys with 1975 and older cars to Death Valley. We were to cover over 1,500 miles in three days, and some of those roads were partially unpaved. A custom alignment shop in Mountain View has a great reputation, but I didn't like the cost I was looking at to take it there. In addition to a four wheel alignment I needed new rear shocks and ride height raised on both front and rear (using the spring perches on stock Bilstein shocks in the rear). I talked to Vicotor Figueroa at DVS Kustoms. I knew what I wanted in alignment specks and he was willing to do the work to raise the car and set front and rear toe, front and rear camber and front caster for a reasonable price. He put in a lot of hours getting the settings right, and the result is a car that handles great steers straight down the highway, and has clearance to go over some pretty bad roads. Victor's shop has the latest Hunter Hawkeye four-wheel alignment equipment. I would recomend him to anyone in the area who wants to get the car back to stock settings or knows what they want in a custom alignment setup. read more

After a brutal 2 days of overhauling the front end on my E36 BMW, I needed to get an alignment. Yelp'd "alignment" near my hood and found came up with a few choices. Chose Aligntech and went straight there. Easy to find and conveniently located near the freeway. Walked in signed a few papers, and 30 minutes later, car was ready to go. This was a Wednesday afternoon so YMMV. They did an inspection BEFORE they aligned the vehicle which was comforting. In fact, while I was waiting I overheard one of the guys explaining to one gentlemen, whose car failed the inspection, all the specifics in great detail of what was wrong with the vehicle. They gave him very sound advice in what kind of parts buy, regardless if Aligntech did the repairs or not. They charged him 25, but if he chose to have them do the repairs it would be credited to the work done. Suspension troubleshooting for 25 dollars by a pro is WELL worth the money. After my alignment, they showed me a computer printout of the before specs and after. Although my car drove straight before I got there, the toe and camber were both wayyy off and,I would have gone through tires like crazy. No nonsense, fast, courteous, informative and good value all come to mind when I think of Aligntech. Thank you guys keep it up. read more

Just got my '06 Evo w/ stock suspension aligned at this shop yesterday, scheduled an appointment for 4PM with David. The car needed an alignment bad as it has been a while since my last one...Car was starting to want to turn to the right as well. The whole process took about an hour and they do have a small waiting area. David and his team did a great job and I got a good deal for it. I was schooled on the numbers and also why the car was turning slightly to the right. These guys are simply awesome. I had them swap out my tires from my stocks to a new set on my 911. At first I was worried that my wheels would get scratched because they didn't have the best equipment available, but they were so careful and systematic that the installation was seamless. David took his time and made sure that it was done right. They also didn't mind that I was over their shoulder the entire time :). I wouldn't have minded paying more but they charged me less than half of what other shops quoted me. $25/wheel including balancing. Didn't even charge me for dismounting my stocks. I've actually brought my car here on two occasions this year. Once after a suspension modification and another after I had a run-in with a curb that got me way toed-in. Service is good-above average. I wouldn't say it's great but it's certainly not bad. I got all my questions answered and trust me I had plenty since I had the new coilovers and all. On the topic of coilovers, I'M SO GLAD THESE GUYS DON'T CHARGE EXTRA FOR AFTERMARKET SUSPENSIONS OR TELL YOU IT IS GOING TO TAKE AN EXTRA LONG TIME!! Firestone gave me a lecture on why prices drastically increase when people put coilovers on their cars. I totally called the guy out because my coilovers don't even have camber kits, so no extra work. Yet Firestone still wanted to charge significantly more. Hence, why I came to Aligntechs. The service is good here, the prices are excellent and I would confidently bring my car again. I've actually referred a buddy as well who also liked this place. Great job Aligntechs, keep those prices and folks like me will never look towards firestone again!! p.s. $5 off check-in on yelp app. They also charge $5-$10 extra for lowered cars since they say its harder to get them on the lift. I had my mechanic ( Kurt @ Kurts Auto- Electric) install Bilstein 5100's all around and made an appointment for alignment this morning. The guy's did a great job. I was in before appointment time. Conducted a test drive, aligned all 4 corners, conducted another test drive& done. I had an appointment and my vehicle went in first even though a walk-in rushed to be first in line. They are busy with constant walk-in's , so recommend an appointment, although walk-ins were being taken care of in a timely manner from what I saw. I will use them again. read more

If you need suspension / alignment work on your car or truck... Go here! Don't even bother with the other guys. When you find an honest guy that knows his stuff as well as Victor.... You go to him first. I went to 3 shops (Including a Firestone store) before I found Victor at Aligntechs. He really knows his business and your vehicle. I had some suspension work done in Nevada on my 2014 Silverado. Wheels, Tires and had the suspension dropped. But, after 6000 miles, I noticed that my front tires were wearing very uneven. After 3 stops where no one understood my suspension because it was not stock, Victor looked it over and showed me what was wrong with the work done in Nevada. He knew exactly what to do. He ordered the parts and aligned my truck perfectly. I noticed the difference within a few miles of leaving his shop. This guy REALLY knows what he is doing. Fair pricing, great communication and quality work! I had a lot of work done. So, Victor even invited me back to check the alignment and retorque everything after I drive it a few weeks. GOOD shop. Good work. Good price. For the majority of customers, this shop is great. If you want exact custom alignment specs or if you're really OCD about your car, you might want to go elsewhere, but also be prepared to spend more. They are experienced with lightly modified cars and will probably get your lowered vehicle on their rack w/o issue or damaging anything. I came here twice in a short period of time - first time stellar experience, they were very careful with my baby. On my 2nd visit, not so much - I watched them drive my car up the ramp - "confidently" is the word I would use - basically just plowed up the ramp like it was a truck. I shouted when I witnessed this because my car sits pretty low. The tech said something similar to "what's wrong? last time we didn't have any problems getting your car on the rack" I explained, "since the last time I was here, a lot has changed with my car, which is why I'm here again!" Tech only replies, "Oh." Luckily, there was no damage to my car but because this incident and because they won't match my exact alignment specs I won't return for future alignments. For what they charge, I don't feel like I have much right to complain. YMMV read more

Very rarely do I write reviews, but when I do, it's because it was a good experience. Victor and David were very attentive and quick to assist. It is obvious that they know what they're doing, and they know how to do it well. This place is great. I went there this morning to get my alignment done on my S2000. I've been to a couple of other shops and they do not seem to get the job done right. Vic actually take his time to get the job done right the first time. He also explains the problems as he attempts to fix them. There were major problems on my car that prevent its from being perfectly aligned but Vic managed to get the car running straight even with the existing problem. The tech found out that my tires were balanced incorrectly from the previous shop and advised me. My Lexus gs300 was shaking and vibrating like crazy before this. I wanted to do an alignment also but with a bad ball joint the tech told me that the alignment won't hold, therefore the alignment will be a waste of my money. Definitely will come back for any future suspension and tires needs. Update-The checked my ball joints and they were good so i got the alignment done. No more shakings and vibrations! read more

Their customer service and auto suspension knowledge are professionally and truly amazing. David did extra steps that I haven't seen done at other shops. He asked me questions about how I felt about my car, what symptom the car had, what parts I just replaced. He attentively took notes everything I said ... Then, before pulling my car into his garage, he did a 5-10 min test drive of the car. My car needed 4 wheel alignment because the steering wheel was 45 degree off from center after I put in two new tie rods and two front lower control arm bushings. The car runs like new now. About the price, once I told him I knew his shop on YELP, he gave me a discount for it. So the price is actually $20 lower than the last shop that I went to. CON: waiting area is dirty. No cup for drinking water. No trash bin so trash are on floor. Very messy. This shop is strongly recommended for excellent work performance, customer service and good price. read more

These guys do great work for a good price. The first time I took my 1993 Toyota MR2 here was after replacing my outer tie-rods and ball joints. The alignment was $60 and the technician (I think his name is Victor) told me at the end of it that my inner tie-rods were bad and if I replaced them he would re-do the alignment for $30. Today I went back and he made good on his promise (almost 3 months later and he remembered my car). I couldn't be happier with the way my car drives right now. These guys completely took care of me! I went to large retail company to order a set of Boss 313 20" wheels and Nitto 275/55/20 Terra Grappler tires, they took my credit card as a deposit and said they would be in about 4 days. I called 4 days later and they said there was an issue that they were working on getting resolved. Called back and they said that they worked it out and the wheels will be here there in 3 days. A week went by and they finally said that the vendor would not sell them any products because they're past due on their payments! Then I went on Boss's website found DVS Kustoms, spoke with David and he said he'd not only match the price, but also beat it. He also had some issues with Boss, they said they had the wheels in the Seattle warehouse and turned out they didn't so they had to ship them from another warehouse...etc.... Long story short, these guys got me the wheels and tires I wanted and even hooked me up with wheel locks for all of the drama.
