I hired All American Chimney to come out to repair a chimney in my home that was leaking water through the mortar and causing my ceiling to show signs of water damage. They diagnosed the problem and sent me an estimate. They performed the recommended repairs and I paid them $4,393 for the job. Thirty months after their repairs the ceiling inside literally collapsed from water intrusion. I called Kathy and she said that Paul would come out and take a look. After the inspection I was told that "you will need to call a roofer, as it appears that the roof to wall flashing is where the leak is occurring." And that "our warranty is only one year, and we are passed that warranty period. Unfortunately, the company is restructuring and we aren't doing chimney work any longer." When I pressed them for more details the diagnosis changed from me needing a roofer to "he recommends that you have another chimney company provide an estimate for crown seal the crown, re waterproof the chimney from the roof up and solar seal all the counter flashing." It's interesting to me that only after I questioned the diagnosis of "needing a roofer" did they come up with another answer. My disappointment with this company is not only the poor workmanship that I paid heavily for, but that they waited for weeks to tell me that they had no intension of doing any repairs which wasted weeks of time. The right thing to do would have been to tell me its out of warranty and we don't do any more chimney repair from the very first communication I had with them. After hiring a different company to come diagnose and repair the job thirty months after paying All American Chimney $4,393 I learned they used rubber calking in places where grout should have gone, left old flashing on which allowed water to channel into the grout and, according to the guy I had fix it "the job they did is terrible, unprofessional, and sloppy. The problem is they created a lot of problems." This from a guy who offered me a full FIVE year, money back guarantee. I'll give it to them that they were professional in communication, but that doesn't warranty paying a crazy amount for shoddy workmanship. read more

We had All American Chimney out for an inspection and cleaning on both of our fireplaces. Paul was quick and professional and was able to add on a cap to our one chimney we don't use. We knew our free standing wood burning fireplace was in pretty bad shape and he was able to give us some great recommendations to replace it. He wasn't pushy and very informative. These guys are in my house 'cleaning' my chimney right now. First of all, no masks. Didn't have one nearby. Didn't ask if I'd prefer they wear one. Secondly, I've had people clean my chimney before. They always run the exhaust out of the building. Because it's just blowing soot everywhere in your house otherwise. And they've usually put plastic around the opening of the fireplace.. They're not doing any of that. They're making a mess then cleaning it up. They're not even going on the roof! I'm wearing my mask standing away from them because i can smell, taste and see the particles in the air. I'm going to have to open up all of the windows after they leave. My landlord hired them. I got my screen broken, and they didn't report it. I discovered it and called this company 5 minutes after the technician left my place. I was told they would come back the same day later, they never did. I have reached this company by phone, left messages, and emailed them several times. I sent pictures of their mess left behind. The blackness of the"swept" and "cleaning" left behind is horrendous and all over the place. The smell is sour and has irritated our throats for weeks. I scratched my hands and arms and got several scars on my right arm due to scratching the blackness off and trying to wash it away. My husband is working with tools to try to get rid of the smell. If I am warned about this, people break the screen, come in with dirty boots, and live a stonk-back mess; I won't bother to get "this services" done. Be aware, unless you want to go to the next steps and pay several thousand dollars to have your chimney "clean." I'm waiting to hear back from them and at least have my screen replaced read more

I only had a little job to remove a chimney and re vent for a furnace and I needed to schedule it out quite a ways but they worked with me on the scheduling and didn't get irritated when I had a million questions. The job was done quickly and the workers were really careful and clean on my property. They did some requests I had too with the demo materials so I could keep some. This review is long outstanding! All American Chimney did some interior and exterior repairs to my chimney in the fall of 2018. I'd had another company come out and give me a quote, and they had told me that repair wasn't possible, and I either had to have my chimney rebuilt ($35K) or torn down ($14K). That did not pass the "gut check" and I reached out for additional quotes. I went with All American Chimney, who explained the repair process well, and seemed quite UNimpressed with the other company.
