Another thing that sets them apart is that not every shop can work on taller vehicles like my van because of lift clearance, but they had no problem getting it up on the lift and making sure everything was checked properly. It's hard to find a shop that's this honest, knowledgeable, and focused on getting the diagnosis right the first time. Many non-dealer shops really do inflate their jobs, then get you with finding "more" things to fix that are hard to self detect or see, especially with older cars that have lots of mileage. Renson might not be cheap, but call it fair pricing for professional work that gets done right, no hassle. While the car is being evaluated and worked on, they always give timely calls to update me if things come up. I've had our car towed to the shop for unexpected issues and they were able to turn the car around in a day. Like with any car repair, ask a lot of questions, Renson does a good job of honest answering for anything I put to them.

April 28, 2026 and I have been stopping every month or so for 6+ months to have an OBDII scanner…read moreread the progress of my 2011 GMC 2500HD Duramax (diesel) resetting/updating so that it can pass a smog check. It failed elsewhere 6+ months ago. In the last 1 year and 3 days I have spent more than $5777 at the dealer because of DEF (diesel exhaust fluid) quality errors and fixes... Why the dealership? Because of the 2 year warranty. The DEF smog equipment is a sore subject that is NOT related to this business. At Premium Auto Repair Center, once I explained what I was going through and showing over 1/4" of invoices, they gladly took the time to check the OBD and share the results with me each time I stopped in/by. A shout out to the owner and all employees for your assistance and today it passed the smog check. As a side note, to avoid high emission output the ECU/ECM limits the truck to 55 mph and then limits the truck to 4 mph (so it can be loaded on a flatbed tow truck)... This state is a joke!

During my DIY repair I snapped one of the alternator bolts that was sitting pretty deep and required a lot of disassembly including AC compressor to take care of. So I figured to find local shop who know how to work on BMW and boy I'm glad I did reach out to Dillan. He has deep knowledge and experience with BMWs (I believe he owns 3) and he instantly was able to understand my situation and gave me detailed plan of action. I dropped the car and the next day it was all taken care of with a reasonable price and no hidden increase in labor or parts! Overall great experience, transparent communication and fair pricing! I didn't take pictures, as this smog and repair place is just located at a Chevron gas station…read more Well, I actually did take a picture, but there were people in it that might not want to be part of my review and it honestly didn't show much, but not having a good photo didn't seem like a reason not to leave a 5 star review for a good local place who provided really good service. We had to take our Prius in for a smog check (why though, it's a Prius!) and I called in to to make an appointment, which was easy to do. When we arrived, they told us where to position our car, asked for the DMV paperwork, and quickly went about performing the smog check. They performed it quickly, did it for a transparent fixed price (some places charge more for certain cars, including Prius's, which seems strange), and got us on our away quickly. The price was reasonable too - about $60 all in. They pointed us to some chairs where we could sit and wait while they did the test - nothing fancy, but it's good to have an option to sit. For whatever reason, smog checks are something I kind of dread, even though it's always painless. Having a local place that can do this quickly and efficiently for a reasonable price is always worth calling out.
