Great food!! Everything was so flavorful and not dry. The dish that surprised me the most was the shrimp and pumpkin soup, which was delicious!!! The drinks are so strong, and I don't drink. My only gripe is the wait time, even with a reservation, and at certain times there isn't a large selection of meat available. Otherwise, best Brazilian steakhouse in Boston!!!

Stopped by for a quick late lunch at the bar and was immediately happy with two kinds of Brazilian bread. One was cheesy and the other was made with yuca, and both were delicious. The waiter was very pleasant. There was a little mix-up with our order. The chicken Caesar salad didn't come out on time, so we thought about canceling it. We also ordered a beef appetizer. My boyfriend loved it and ate it all, but I wasn't a fan because the meat was cold. I asked if it was supposed to be cold, and they immediately comped it and offered to bring a fresh batch. We said it was fine. The chicken Caesar salad eventually arrived and was really good. The chicken had a nice twist in the seasoning, and it would have been amazing in a wrap. The wait was a bit long, but the food was solid overall. Despite the small hiccups, I would definitely come back for a full meal.

Laying over at the Aloft Boston Seaport and wanted a quick takeaway meal. Alma Gaúcha Prime Brazilian Steakhouse is easy to get to through the hotel lobby - since I ordered takeout, I can't speak on the full dine-in experience, just the food. I got the Chicken & Picanha combo with rice and black beans. Other side choices included Caesar salad or Garlic Mashed Potatoes. The rice and beans were actually really good, and they give you two solid portions, which I appreciated. The meat, though... not my favorite. I love chicken thighs for how juicy they normally are, but these were a bit dry and shriveled. And my steak, which I asked for medium, came out more on the well-done side. It was a little disappointing - I was really expecting that tender, juicy Brazilian-steakhouse moment..

Lychee martini

The atmosphere is amazing, the lighting wasn't overly bright. The tables were spaced nicely. I got the lychee martini and that was really tasty. The first cut of meat came out quicker than I expected it to. And all of it tasted great. The servers were really nice and the service was great. 10/10 worth the price. We got the chocolate molten cake for dessert and it was amazing. It was my birthday and the servers came out with the dessert with a candle in it and sand and clapped. I would definitely recommend and go again.

I was quite underwhelmed with the quality of the meat. Almost all of the portions we received were overcooked. The salad bar was amazing though. I did notice that the batch of meat that came out as we were finishing up was A LOT better than the ones we received so I attributed our overcooked meal to timing. We ate around 4:45 pm, which must've been the end of their early afternoon rush. It was definitely heart wrenching to see everyone get perfect medium rare cuts after we just ate some well done meat.

Key lime pie??

Key lime pie?? Hard pass. This was some sort of old cheesecake with a nasty congealed sauce that tasted like apple pucker, totally high school cafeteria vibes. In addition to this we arrive when the place was very much still open (according to posted hours) and got a lot of attitude from a bartender who clearly just wanted to go home. Save yourself the time and likely food poisoning

This place was great, you definitely get your money's worth here. The food was good, meats were delicious and the dessert was fantastic. I would definitely come back! Until the next one cheers!

I was craving some meat and decided to try a rodizio for the first time. I went for lunch, and they had two price options: $23, which doesn't include meat, and $45, which does, so I went straight for the $45. From the moment I walked in, the host greeted us very warmly. The staff was extremely friendly-someone even pulled out my chair for me to sit. The restaurant is beautiful, with well-arranged tables and a great atmosphere. The food was delicious. I went on a Monday, so it wasn't very busy, but I really appreciated that the staff was constantly checking to make sure all the food was fresh, well presented, and kept at the right temperature. Overall, it was an excellent experience: great service, a pleasant ambiance, and high-quality food. 10/10

Meats, sides, and all you can eat salad buffet

This was my first Brazilian steakhouse experience and I came here as part of a group of 4 a few weeks back, while Alma Gaucha had an ongoing DineOut Boston promotion where they were offering AYCE dinner for $46 per person. There's no doubt in my mind that this is by far the best deal of the entire Dine Out Boston period - I can guarantee that you won't find any other place that's this worth your money! I was impressed by the freshness of their sides and salads - the buffet section wasn't overwhelmingly huge and it definitely seemed like they wanted to highlight quality over quantity. They also had a couple of hot dishes for people to sample - their clam chowder was decent. The one thing that I kept on going back for was their candied bacon - it was truly dangerously addicting. The highlight was definitely the meat selections that were served throughout our meal. I think the servers did a great job making sure that there was a variety and even though they were quite busy, I appreciated how they tried to take our preferences into account (the size of the piece, what temperature we preferred, etc etc) whenever they could. There was truly so much food that we definitely had to prioritize which ones we wanted to try. I passed on most of the chicken and pork samples. I really liked the premium of top sirloin! Their ribs were also super tender. I'm not a lamb person at all but even I couldn't pass up the opportunity to try a small piece of their lamb steak, which was very juicy and flavorful and not too gamey at all. The cheese with honey is definitely a must-try in my opinion as well, but it's definitely very heavy and not as worth as the rest of the meat selections! The servers made sure that the sides of cheesy bread (had a very fun mochi-like texture), fried polenta, and yucca were always filled. I was truly impressed by how wonderful and attentive the service was! And I also appreciated how they had a very clear allergen list. My only disappointment was that they had a strict set of two desserts that each person could choose from (a chocolate brownie or a slice of red velvet cake), and they weren't able to offer a gluten-free dessert (even though they definitely had gluten-free options available on their regular menu) for someone with a strict gluten allergy. Since they were really good about accommodating allergies with everything else, that was understandably a letdown unfortunately. Still, would definitely recommend this spot for people to try out in the future, particularly during DineOut promotions!

There are options for AYCE as well as by weight, and if you do by weight you have to weigh everything you get at the side buffet and only get meat from the counter, so we opted for AYCE because that seemed cumbersome. The service here was friendly and attentive and as long as your token is green, the meat literally comes nonstop! I really liked their sides and salads, especially the plantains and fresh fruits. The meats were perfectly done and though they didn't really ask, all my pieces were medium/medium rare which is how I like it. The cut that was infused with garlic was really good, as were the sirloin and the chicken hearts and spicy pork sausages. Some pieces were very salty, but I'm pretty sensitive to salt. The grilled pineapple was luscious. If we didn't already have cake waiting for us at home, I would have definitely indulged in some tres leches or lime cake. They ended the meal with cooked cheese dipped in honey or guava sauce which was interesting. The fresh fruit at the salad bar was really refreshing. I probably wouldn't come back because it's just way too much meat/food for me and not my usual favorite (also rather pricey for dinner/weekends). However, my family had a great meal here and I think it's definitely a step up from fogo de chao in terms of quality and service. If you're into Brazilian steakhouses (or steak in general) I would highly recommend this place.

Thank you, Muqueca, for warming me up…read more Fish with Shrimp Moqueca: Made in the Capixaba recipe, this version replaced red palm oil and coconut milkthem with tomatoes--which happened to be my favorite. The broth was warm, flavorful, and refreshing. The initial notes are the sweetness of onions and bell peppers, followed by the delicate aroma of cilantro, leaving a clean taste impression. The whitefish fillets are tender and flavorful, yet still retain a subtle chewiness. The Pirão sauce, made with the fish broth and tapioca starch, was rich and thick, enhancing both the saltiness and umami, even reminiscent of Cantonese style abalone sauce. The two flavors were distinct yet complementary, a true delight with rice--though fresh, higher-quality Thai jasmine rice would be better. The earthenware pot, bearing the marks of time, kept the food warm; the portion was also very generous, perfect for sharing. I ended up taking some home for a second meal. Flan: Although I was quite full, the deliciousness of the moqueca piqued my interest in trying dessert. The pudding had a smooth and delicate texture, unlike the often sticky flaky texture of supermarket flans. The egg flavor wasn't strong, while the caramel syrup was rich and smooth, with an irresistible initial bitterness followed by a delightful sweetness. Plus, the syrup was generous, making it wonderful to coat every slice of cake in it. No wonder it's their signature dessert. Hot Sauce: The homemade hot sauce was highly recommended by my server. It didn't look very spicy, but it was far beyond my tolerance. However, I must admit it was incredibly delicious, with a refreshing citrus flavor and a smooth, emulsified texture alongside the spiciness, creating a very rich flavor profile. Being unable to handle spice is a real shame in its presence. The server's movements were elegant, the service attentive, the pace comfortable, and he satisfied some of my curiosity as a cuisine lover.

It's nothing fancy, sometimes a little hard to communicate with the cashier but they are great people and have great food. The Food~ The spicy sausage is juicy and rich with a bit of a kick. The garlic and regular Picanha meat are also soft and tender. The crusty skin with the garlic and salt bits mends well with the meat. Paired together with the jasmine butter rice neutralizes the saltiness and pulls you back for more. The oxtail and soup is also very good. The warm soup with the tender oxtail paired again with the rice is the perfect combo. There wasn't a lot of vegetable options but I'm not complaining :) The Logistics~ There is plenty of parking on the street and also a public parking lot near Blanchard. A party of 4 is considered large for this place and you'll end up taking all the seats. Don't like sticking around too long and the seating area is pretty limited and not the best for private conversations.

I tried to balance out my plate to be half and half and scored the 14.49 rate but if the staff thought I had too much meat I would have paid 19.99 per pound instead. lol. Otherwise I was a fan, the meat was tender juicy and flavorful (especially the steak) and the buffet items were really good as well (polenta and fried plantains were standouts) The wait staff were just okay, my waitress was just standing near the front and I tried to get her eye contact but that didn't work so when the manager came by to check on me (she didn't) I asked him if he could send her to pay. Service, once we were seated, was attentive, food was good. They could have done a better job at keeping the buffet options stalked, they were out of 3 options. Overall, the meat was good, which is what you hope for at a Brazilian steakhouse. The lamb is always a hit, but the steak was also nicely cooked and perfectly salted. However, some of the items at the buffet bar were underwhelming and didn't quite match the quality I've experienced before. The cheese bread was cold, and the fried yucca lacked flavor. A few other buffet items also felt like they had been sitting out for a while. The total came to about $135 (before tip) for what we ordered, which felt steep given the food quality and overall experience. In hindsight, I wish I had asked for an itemized receipt to better understand how everything was priced. Service was mixed. The guy carving the meat was excellent and definitely a highlight, but beyond that, the service was pretty meh. All things considered, I'd probably skip the East Boston location next time and head back to Oliveira's in Somerville, where the food and service have consistently been better. At this price point, I might even opt for Fogo de Chão instead.
