    Hatch Chile Omelet
    Stephen L.

You can't find Alo Cafe easily. That may be a good thing helping preserve the character, charm, and specialness of this place. It's worth the hunt. Its foremost assets are its people and its recipes. A genuine, friendly waitress greats, seats, and serves you. You may find the genuine, friendly owner sitting at a table and ready to engage you in good conversation, too. The hatch chile omelette was wonderful. It had a unique caramelized, crunchy cheddar cheese crust. It came topped with tasty pico de gallo. Inside it had a creamy, yummy sauce. They provided wonderful hot sauce and other unique condiments to enhance to the omelette's flavor. You should try this place. Don't let the basic decor fool you. Alo's people and flavor make the place.

    Monte cristo

We ate a unique version of a Monte Cristo sandwich. It had the traditional ham, turkey, and Swiss but the bread was crusted in corn flakes! Sounds unusual but it worked nicely. Served with berry jam and cream cheese - on the sweet side but a satisfying brunch.

So glad we found this hidden gem while staying in Scottsdale. I had the chilequilas it was so good! My husband had the waffle christo which was exceptional. I had to get a few manhattan specials to go. Would love to try their lunch

What a great find! While in search spot to grab some breakfast / brunch my wife saw Alo Cafe on Yelp. We had never been here before and I'm so glad we picked it. Tucked away on 1st St in Old Town Scottsdale Alo Cafe is a small, cozy and welcoming place. You get an immediate sense of hominess and warmth. We were promptly welcomed and told to pick any spot we liked. It wasn't busy at this point but I can sense it can get packed during peak breakfast time. A half-dozen or so tables fill a small space that's nicely decorated. There is also a nice patio area outside that I'll need to take advantage of of next time. The menu is terrifically varied and consists of fresh, homemade dishes. You're certain to find something ( many somethings ) to your liking. Breakfast dishes abound in many styles; southwest, traditional, European. Many lunch and sandwich items are here to choose from also. Linda opted for the Lox No Bagel Omelet with sliced red onions and capers ( her favorite ) and diced potatoes. I know it must be good as she actually ate the entire meal, which she NEVER does and usually takes leftovers to enjoy later. Not this time! I chose the Cuban Sandwich Panini with house smoked, pork, ham, Swiss cheese, pickles and mustard on a griddled sub roll ( stealing the wording from the menu here ) with a side of chips. Wow! First of all - delicious - and there's a lot there. This is a must-try when you stop in. But I'll need more visits to try more of the menu. All menu portions seem quite generous and pretty reasonably priced given what you get. Service is very friendly, welcoming and quick. I apologize for not remembering the name of the lovely woman who waited on us - I'm notoriously bad at remembering. That said, she was so friendly and happy to have us visit and seemed very pleased to be there. Wonderful lady. I've been a little "wordy" but that's how I tend to get whenever I find a place I know I'll want to return to and could easily imagine being a regular at if I lived closer - granted I'm only up in Peoria so not a terribly great distance. Do yourself a favor and check out Alo Cafe if you're in search of a great space with delicious, fresh food, good coffee and friendly service. Or, maybe don't - as I might like to keep this place to myself, LOL. Highly recommended.

    Croissant Cristo

Cute locally owned breakfast spot. The inside is small but it's definitely much appreciated if you're looking for a more intimate setting. I ordered the Croissant Cristo which was pretty good. Nice place to try out if visiting from out of town like I did.

My wife and I were staying about a block away at the Valley Ho Resort. We found Alo Cafe through Yelp. It was within walking distance, so we thought we would give it a try. We are so glad we did. We ended up having breakfast there for both mornings we were in town. It's a little out of the way and easy to miss because it's essentially in an alley. The original building obviously had new condos built all around it. It's literally across the street from Historic Scottsdale. They have inside dining, but the dining room is pretty small. They have a very pleasant and large patio dining area. Everything is made fresh. No microwaves. The menu is all original, not just the same stuff you find at brunch places all across the U.S.. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. The food was delicious. We didn't have to wait very long to receive it. I'm a YouTube Creator and I liked this place so much, I made a video about it.

Monte Cristo with a side of Bacon
    Caroline E.

Stopped here for brunch on a Sunday morning around 10:30, we had to wait about 15 mins for our table. We got a Monte Cristo and a side of bacon to share. I've never had a monte cristo before but this one was delicious especially with the jelly it comes with! The bacon was cooked perfectly. We sat outside because we had our dog (dog friendly patio) but we did have a lot of flies all around us the whole time which wasn't ideal.

Alo Signature Corn Flake Crusted French Toast - incredible!!

We were greeted at the door with a friendly smile and welcome! Amazing start to a fantastic find on Yelp! Our first choice had over an hour wait so we picked Alo next. At first glance, you will think hmmmm kind of a small cafe but remember these are the gems! Service was excellent and fast. Ordered our drinks then food. Horchata iced coffee and orange juice were excellent! Our food was fresh and filling! Their house special French toast- was a homerun! Tender inside crispy and crunchy outside...where can I find this in Tucson???? Our side of eggs so fresh and perfectly cooked! My daughter had the tropical French toast and she said it was so filling and fruit was amazing! My son had the hatch green chili omelette. Opened up his sinuses nicely if you know what I mean! The crema inside was so flavorful, super special addition. He really enjoyed it! Thanks for a fantastic breakfast!

TORTILLA ESPANOLA (signature dish of Spain),

If you have ever been to NY, you will certainly recognize the umbrellas. My son ordered the Sabrett hot dogs with sauerkraut and mustard. They were perfect. The rest of ate regular breakfast items. Portions were large, food was fresh and tasty and service was excellent. An added bonus- it was cool enough to sit on the patio.

I wanted to like this place more! The building is cute and looks like it is an old one-story house. Our waitress was nice and took good care of us. The food was not very good -- burnt bacon and mediocre eggs. I was not a huge fan.

When we arrived, it was a bit confusing, as there wasn't really any signage or staff who were willing to assist in directing us to the the place - the hostess at the elements restaurant was snippy and was just rude for no reason! The setup at jade bar was fine; sitting by the windows is your best bet to get a nicer view; however, there was a wedding that was taking place outside, so we couldn't access to have the option to do an al fresco experience. There was no hostess, and the waitstaff seemed to be limited; we didn't know this was just a 'walk-in and grab a seat at any table' type of a setup - We ordered: +the Truffle Tots - did not expect what this dish was; the romesco sauce was just not good +a California maki roll - the imitation crab meat had an off taste to them, and it wasn't tightly rolled so everything fell apart +and, the Chicken Wings - this was covered in some type of a sticky/hoisin type of a sauce; the chicken was NOT cooked through, and we thought we were going to get sick We ordered the Blueberry Dreams (prepared with buffalo trace bourbon, lillet rouge, blueberry lemon, honey, and ginger) and the Spicy Margarita (prepared with deleon blanco tequila, cucumber, jalapeno, and lime) - both were made very strong and were aesthetically pleasing. The seating area and the chairs could have been wiped down and cleaned better; we noticed stains on the furniture. We weren't checked-in often throughout our experience; we would have liked refills, ordered additional drinks, etc., but it wasn't hapepning. You can pop out through the doors at the back of elements for a better view of the mountains, if you wish. We're glad to try this place out, but not worth going out of your way for it. +underwhelming HH options +inattentive/rude staff +located at the Sanctuary

Now I realize that the 2026 was a Summer Olympics and Curling is part of the Winter Olympics, but we didn't care Upon entry to go to the host stand and tell them what you're looking to do (activities vs bar/waiting). The space is relatively open and you can immediately see the fully stocked bar, the bowling area, the back axe throwing lanes, and the enclosed curling lanes. We opted for a package that got us unlimited games (any) for an hour. We started with curling and we didn't need any special clothes or shoes. We were lead to a lane and it's set up like shuffleboard (you can stand on either side and there's two separate color stones). There's ice where you glide your stones and you stand on rubber for traction. You can glide by hand or use a piece of equipment that is essentially a stick to help push and guide your stone. There's an attendant on duty to help any stones that are stuck or that don't make it down the lane The experience was awesome. We've always wanted to try curling, but it's difficult to find somewhere that is set up to let you do that. We were amazed that we finally tried it in a desert of all places. There are no brushes like in typical curling, but you still get a sense of the Olympic activity. The bowling was fun too, but it's a smaller version like you might see in some novelty bars. Axe throwing was that of typical ax throwing. You had a couple different sizes of axes, there's lanes and you throw at a wooden target. They had computers to input your name and keep track of points. It was sometimes difficult to stick the wooden target, but it was fun We didn't try the food or drink, but everything looked good. The staff were very helpful. It was a weekend, and it wasn't overly crowded which was nice. Overall it was a fun experience Some tips: If your stones seem to be getting stuck down the lane, ask the attendant to move you to another lane. That's what we did and it made all the difference Explore the rest of bustling Old Town Scottsdale. There's literally something for everyone, and definitely check out the Frybread Lounge for some great Native American fusion cuisine Chee

The sauce was fantastic not too salty and not too sweet it was great. The beef carpaccio was also amazing. Not a huge fan of the mushrooms but they were good and the shaved parm and toasted pine nuts were a great added touch. We ordered a bunch of stuff and shared. The chicken parm yes was awesome. Filling! It is their staple and it should be ordered. $68 for it was a little high IMO for chicken, but it was a double breasted. We got two pastas the lobster fettuccine and the Vodka pasta. Both were great you can see the pics. I personally loved the Vodka pasta mixed in with the burrata. The place was remolded nicely. We sat toward the back but go the whole view of the restaurant. Even though the exterior and bathroom areas of the W Hotel are under construction, the ambiance within the restaurant is beautiful and unaffected. I also appreciated their waiting area with seating and TVs so we could catch the very end of the World Cup game! The food and drinks were amazing. I had a delicious mocktail with elderflower - dare I say one of the best I've ever had...I'd go back for just that! Everyone else at our table loved their martinis as well. Often when you dine at these new aesthetic spots in Phoenix/Scottsdale the food disappoints - but not here. Only dish we didn't love was the chicken piccata which was a bit plain. My vodka pasta and the braised beef pasta were delicious and flavorful. And let's not forget the dessert offerings: gelato, affogato, and tiramisu were all so good! I'll definitely return here it was top tier all around!
