Ordered from UberEATS the Aloha Teri Chicken. The chicken was ok, not much flavor. I'm really picky how the texture of my rice is and I could NOT eat their rice (was too soggy and sticky for me). Their Mac salad was also okay better than the rice so I ate that and some of the chicken. I also ordered the spam musubi and again it was okay, had better spam musubi! I've been to Seattle for business several times in the past. My usual here is either Hawaiian or Pho. Since I've been to L&L Hawaiian BBQ few times, thought I would try Aloha Grill as an independent biz. First thing noticed is that the restaurant is in a busy intersection, so it was easy to find. The cashier (older gentleman) seemed ok, but not very talkative. I ordered the guava drink and the combination grill plate. Food came more than 10min later (this is around 1p), which was a little longer than expected as my expectation for places like this should be more like 5 min? Anyway, given this is the combination plate, I expected to be larger than what I saw others are having. So the combination has the grilled chickens (which they cut up in to little pieces), thinly sliced beef (similar to bolgogi), and 1 beef rib...actually, it was 1/2 a beef rib as it was just 1 riblet. I've been to Hawaii more than 30+ times, so I have more than my share of Hawaiian plate lunch. The overall taste was basic, which lack some of the grilled bbq flavor. Wasn't bad, but I had to add some sauces and spice to make it tastier. Then there is the mac salad, which is a signature side dish in Hawaii. in this case, it tasted like any other mac salad. Overall, I believe this place is overrated. Believe me, I'm not crazy about going to chain places like L&L, but in this case, they were no better. And the fact they cut the beef riblet in 1/2, the overall portion or value of what I paid was not worth going back. Whenever I visit these smaller independent, I strive to support these little guys. Salty is the word that comes to mind. Food was slow to arrive and customer service was sub par. Neither my friend or I liked our dishes and dumped most of it in the garbage. BTW when I emptied my tray into the garbage, I'd realized an employee had just taken the can outside to empty without covering the garbage bin, so my food hit the bare floor. Hawaiian place close to home. It has very simple dishes. Husband enjoyed his chicken and beef teriyaki as it was made in marination versus grilled and dredged in sauce. I got the Aloha plate which had hamburger and katsu. I got gravy all over it but quickly realized it is quite thick! Tasted good but too much for my heart, haha. This place felt laid back which I like . Plenty of seating and clean. I got the Aloha grill which was a mix of meats, tuna Mac and rice. The Mac was really good some of the best I have had in Washington, meat was well cooked and prepared but my complaint was the amount. Most of the other Hawaiian spots I have eaten at I get mounds of meat and kinda expected that here. They do have spicy mayo and so I put that on my rice. This restaurant has an unassuming store front in the middle of a strip mall. Walk inside and you find a casual, with borderline tacky island-themed decor and some island music playing in the background. But this place isn't about the ambiance - it's about the food. And the food is Ono (good). The menu is robust, with a good breadth of Hawaiian entrees and sides. I had the chance to try the Loco Moco plate lunch two different ways - one, traditional with hamburger steak and the other with Kalua pig (pulled pork) in place of the hamburger patty atop the bed of rice (all covered with fried eggs and gravy). Both ways were tasty, and it was the first time I've ever seen loco Moco with Kalua pig (and I spent my summers with family in Hawaii). And, importantly in plate lunch, the Mac salad needs to be on point - and it was. The plate lunch was a huge portion - you won't leave hungry (and it's well priced!). This place is very convenient to where I work. I've dined here many times for lunch every days that I'm not working! This is a very authentic Hawaiian bbq place! They have specials that rotate to there is always something new to try! They have a good variety of everything! They even have katsu loco..basically is chicken battered in panko with eggs and gravy. They also have spamwiches burgers with egg, a twist on the known spam and eggs. Regardless of what you decide to get you HAVE TO get the Mac on the side! It's so good! By far the best I've ever encountered! I typically ask for double Mac because it's that good! The service is always super fast and friendly! The first time I went was 12/11/19. My fiancè & I are from out of town & had never been. The lady (possibly the owner) was very welcoming & kind. Asked us about our stay & alot of small talk. As well as suggesting items on the menu knowing we had never been there. We ended up getting 1 original beef loco moco & 1 chicken katsu loco moco along with a slice of rainbow cake & 2 drinks. As we left the lady said TY for coming plz come back & have a nice day also asked if we liked the food. My fiancè & I talked about the food & experience all the way home (15 min drive). On 12/18/19 We came in with our daughter, now this experience was very different there was a younger female @ the counter she didn't greet us but just stood there looking @ us.. my fiance ordered 3 meals & 3 drinks. Within seconds he decided to change his order, the girl @ the counter kind of glared @ him to which I almost snapped on her due to how rude & unnecessary her reaction was (we always try to contain patience with our daughter around). Even my fiancè apologized about 3 times due to how rude she was, @ that point I said there's no need to apologize to her you didn't do anything wrong. She never once looked at me then rolled her eyes when I made my comment. Literally the ONLY words that came out of her mouth was the total. I've already lost my appetite by this point & my fiancè is annoyed, but once again we both are trynna made this experience good for our daughter (she loves Hawaiian food). The food comes out about 15-20 minutes later, all very hot & very good (actually better then the first day). We don't eat much do to the ordering experience, but watch our daughter enjoy the meal. It's time to get boxes, no one was @ the counter cooks from the back came up to give us boxes & tell the girl we wanted to pay for a cake... again she did not say ONE word besides the total then went to the back. We sat and watched her be this way with about 5 other customers. We cringed @ how rude she was to them even how nice & sweet they were back to her, one day she's gonna come across someone not so nice back. She was very nasty to the elderly couple, one man asked for napkins but had to ask the guys from the back as they came out to get drinks due to this girl never being up front. The ONLY time she was up front is when the guys would tell her there was a customer. I cannot explain how rude this girl is to the customers for no reason other then hating being there & adulting just isn't for her... she is not ready for this. Her attitude alone has made us NOT want to return which sucks since we raved so much about it the first day. I wondered why the place seemed so empty the first day since the food was so good & the lady was so kind. Now it makes sense. The younger females attitudes make the food not taste so great due to it just ruining your appetite. We will definitely return ONE more time in a later time to see if things have gotten better & I do hope to see that girl there with a new attitude, no eye rolls & better customer service. Being big fans of Kauai Family Restaurant, we were concerned that our move to Kent would leave us a little stranded when it came to finding good Hawaiian food. But no. Aloha Grill is an excellent alternative to Kauai Family Restaurant. There were two standouts during our visit--make that three. The first was the great macaroni salad. Kicking myself for not taking any photos. It was delicious. The second was the awesome Katsu Loco. The eggs were cooked perfectly and the gravy was smooth and delicious. This was my first time eating from here and I am well satisfied. I doordash from time to time and i finally decided to try something new. I saw they had curry shrimp and I asked the cook how was it. The food was not up to par. I was excited to have some good Hawaiian food as our normal Chinese place was closed today. I ordered the Garlic Chicken expecting something good and it was some chicken cut up, pan fried and put into a cream of mushroom sauce. There was about 5 cloves are garlic added that were not cooked. The spam selection was very minimal too which I couldn't order something I have been craving. Will not go back nor recommend anybody I know. read more

Got my food in 5 minutes or less and made my way to the car. Opened my plate and Lo and behold, the plate is literally 2 scoops of old looking rice and 1 chicken cut up in several pieces. I use to come to this place a lot during my lunch. Today I went in and asked for what I normally ask for. Loco moco without hamburger patty and extra egg because I'm vegetarian. The lady went to ask the cook and he was getting angry. And she came to let us know he was going to help us. My husband and I love Hawaiian food. We were invited to a BBQ down in Kent, and got on Yelp to see if there were any restaurants available for a take out order. Aloha Grill came up on our feed and we quickly wanted to know more about out options. We placed an order of mac salad for 10 people. We loved it and so did everyone else. The only reason I don't give them a 5-start is due to not trying the rest of the food. Mac salad is more of a side dish and not a main dish, unless you're my husband and he can eat a whole plate worth. We're looking forward to trying more of their dishes, next time we're in the neighborhood. read more

Our office is about 6-8min away from this place and it's costs $14 to deliver one plate. You receive your food and there's not that much food in the plate. It's either you have a a lot of meat and little rice or two big scoops of rice and very little meat.
