I would have love to rate this place higher from all the great reviews that I read, but there was slit of things that I would like to see be better. The service was at most 1.5 out of 5. Our waiter was helping the table next to us more than anything. We had to ask for something as simple as a refill. Out of our 2 hour meal he checked up on us twice. Also when we were ready to pay he dropped off the check and we didn't see him for 15 minutes. The food was okay. They ran out of all tomahawks by 7pm. Also there's no signage saying what their out of. That was the reasoning for going there. I still got two different ribeyes to compare. One 8ounce and one 16 big island both with garlic shrimp. The smaller steak looked like it was cut down to size and fatty edge removed. Steak could also use seasoning. We could even taste any salt or pepper. Sides were small and nothing really to talk about. We got the baked Waikiki and I would skip that if I ever was to go back. The pineapple was sour and the flambé was pouring out on the table which was of concern. The atmosphere is casual and somewhat loud. That's something I was expecting. Loved the sizzling steak! So much fun and the steak with the melted butter was wonderful. It came with corn on the plate so I added the butter to the top as well. We came for happy hour from 4-6 and it was less crowded and good deals. We were staying in Waikiki for a staycation and this was a perfect meal for two. We will be coming back again . read more

The service was great! Our server seemed like he was happy when we were happy so that was really cool. I wish I remembered his name! The food was expensive but it's kinda expected being in Waikiki and being a steakhouse. We had ribeye with shrimps, Mac & Cheese, Creamed Spinach, Honey yogurt dip, and a special dessert for our anniversary I have to say my favorite thing was the honey tofu dip! I could eat the whole dang thing myself. I only wish it came with more crackers cause we had a lot left over and we were loading those crackers up. We had a reservation and upon arrival our host was visibly irritated and mentioned that they were understaffed. I can understand the frustration but as a customer this information is not only irrelevant but something I don't think you should be sharing with a customer looking forward to eating at your establishment. We sat down and our server was also notably inattentive . We finally ordered after quite some time and we sat there for close to 2 hours waiting for our food. It seems apparent that the restaurant understaffs in an effort to save money in addition to hiring incompetent staff. We saw a tomahawk steak get cut table side by the server and I can only describe the experience as clumsy at best. The whole experience looked like a gimmick. We finally decided to cancel our order and leave. I never complain at restaurants and will usually never leave a review unless I have something nice to say but this left such a bad taste in my mouth. Not sure what the hype is about....... This was an absolute letdown. We ordered the megahawk with a side of mushrooms and truffle Mac. The 3 lbs tomahawk was 2 1/2 lbs of fat tasteless and on the same hot plate that they serve a 10oz sirloin so needless to say when the waiter recommended us ordering it rare because it would cook while sitting it Did NOT!!!!. I was visiting Hawaii for the first time from NY. This was the last place I had dinner at. I had the rib eye steak with garlic shrimp and the chicken wings. The food was great! The steak could have been a tiny bit juicier but it had great flavor. The wings were also surprisingly good. For dessert, I had the matcha green tea soft serve, which was pretty good. It wasn't too sweet and was a perfect way to conclude my meal. My servers were friendly and very attentive. My only criticism is the price. We decided to come here for a late Valentine's Day. We normally do steakhouses for any fancy occasion and this place was on my list since my friend really liked it recently. We got a Caesar salad and garlic fries to start. Cesar salad was very average and anchovy forward. It kind of tasted watery if that makes sense? The garlic fries were awesome and probably one of the best things tonight. Boyfriend got the blackened ahi & I got a petite sirloin. We chose a twice baked potato & creamed spinach as our sides. The ahi was alright it was kind of lacking a flavor he was used to (he orders blackened ahi a lot it's usually served with a wasabi type sauce that pairs really well). He said it was fine but he wouldn't order it again. My sirloin said the fat was trimmed but towards the end I found a bunch of fat and I've never tried this type of cut before so it probably is my fault and I'm used to a filet. Twice baked potato is to die for and so was the cream spinach (I'm a cream spinach enthusiast). I got garlic shrimp on top and I was confused because it did not taste like garlic at all like I was expecting some Giovanni's type garlic shrimp and it was just like tasteless. But I do say the quality of shrimp was great it was so plump and the steak I could tell was quality too. We got some cocktails (espresso martini, cosmo & Jack and coke) all super duper good. Ended it all with the watermelon sorbet and while it was fun with the textures I'm not sure why it's the most reviewed item here. It was very average at best but I liked the Cocoa Puffs. All in all the food was just okay. The service now was very interesting. Our server was very lack of personality and barely spoke a word to us. My food stayed on the table for like 10 minutes and I was to box it up myself (okay I can box stuff myself but most places again do it for me). I feel like for a $260 dinner (with tip) we should've been treated a lot better (most other places we go we are treated like super well so it was a bit off putting). All in all maybe come for apps and drinks and leave. There is also a 5% kamaaina discount they will apply for residents. Aloha Steak House is a casual steakhouse in the heart of Waikiki. We had a group of 8 adults and 2 kids, so we were able to reserve the back room area they have for privacy. It was a little crammed, but nice to not have to worry about the kids running around. The steaks are served on a hot plate and they said to order your steak one under the temperature you desire since it will cook on the hot plate. I was skeptical at first so didn't listen but they were right and you should do this if you want your steak to your normal liking. Our server was really attentive and checked on us frequently. When the food was brought out, it was chaotic as one of the steaks was carved table wide but they were still bringing out everyone else's steaks and the different servers were trying to maneuver around each other while one was carving. If you are used to other steakhouses, like Ruth Chris, just be prepared for a downgrade in meat quality. I always order a ribeye at steakhouses and you could tell that this meat was tougher than Ruth Chris. The steak prices here are still up there, so for what you're paying for and what you get, I don't think this is the best deal out there and would prefer to go elsewhere. read more

Started with Kauai shrimp (I eat head on shrimp often) my issue with this dish was the shrimp was completely mushy inside. It was gross, we ate 3 and then left the rest. Next the crab cakes, my first bite I got a chunk of the crab shell in it, and the cake itself lacked any flavor. We then had mashed potato's and Mac n chz and both of them had NO FLAVOR. We started laughing at one point, we thought maybe they ran out of salt and pepper. The one thing I will say that tasted good was the 16oz ribeye. It was very juicy and flavorful. I made a reservation for my family though instagram! Which is pretty cool and super convenient cuz I found them through a video that showcased their amazing steaks. It was a large party of 14, and we reserved a time for Tuesday at 7:30. My grandma ended up staying at the hotel cuz she was tired from flying in, and my other 2 siblings were late but we were seated with no issues. They set aside a room for us, with a long table and two separate tables. My family ended up squeezing in the long table and it worked out pretty well. I was a little bit worried it'd be hard to coordinate with all the people we had, but our server, Nick, was on top of everything!! He was so nice and helpful! We ended up getting a giga hawk to share. the parents got their own things and were super satisfied with the food. The steak was AMAZING. We ended up trying a bunch of appetizers and sides as well. The garlic fries were delicious. My siblings got some soup that was so good they ordered a second one. Presentation wise, the steak and the dessert were really cool to watch. First off I love restaurants that you can make reservations on an app and this place allows you to make reservations on Yelp with open table. Our reservations were all over the place. Initially we made reservations for 2 then morning if we changed it to 3 then 15 minutes before I changed it to 4. We completely missed our reservation by 35 minutes all thanks to Hawaii traffic but they sat us right away with no questions or hesitation. Our server in the beginning was great however once the main course was brought out she didn't stop in very often. The drinks are pretty pricey; their signature cocktails are $18 a pop. I had the lychee martini and it was great. We had a group of 4 girls and decided to just go for the gusto and ordered a bunch of appetizers. The stuffed portobello mushroom was ONO! Presentation was very nice. We also shared the tomahawk steak. Our server was nice enough to put the last one on hold for our table while we had our appetizers. They bring it to the table on a sizzling platter and cut it at the table. Cooked to perfection my girlfriends and I had a great time. Parking was across the street at the Hyatt and they validate. Positive first. The staff were excellent and professional, nice, fast and attentive. The restaurant was nice and clean. The garlic shrimp, Caesar salad, mashed potatoes, creamed spinach and fries were decent, not out of this world but good enough. 2 people ordered steak 2 ordered seafood. One of the steaks was way too salty and that's from a 16 year old who doesn't complain about salt usually. Not sure why a steak is that salty. Oddly the other steak was barely salt seasoned. Now for my dish... Going to a steakhouse as a pescatarian is like the Charles Dickens line "it was the best of times it was the worst of times" let me explain what I mean. Some steakhouses offer seafood that's thick and juicy like steaks with buttery goodness and give a real fork and knife experience to a meal on par with the steaks served. They can be incredible, a pure joy to eat. This is absolutely not that style. I ordered a blackened ahi steak. I knew something was wrong when they brought out chopsticks. The ahi steak I ordered came out as thinly sliced tuna that just weren't blackened at all and was just sashimi covered in shiso which is a Japanese leaf that's really strong in flavor like cilantro, and there was a lot of it. I live with 2 & 1/2 generations of Japanese women in my house so I eat a lot Japanese food. In all my years at home, in Japan or at all of Nobus restaurants in New York Vegas and LA have NEVER heard of shiso on tuna. It's usually on octopus, squid or other types of seafood with strong or unique textures or taste. I've also never seen that much of it, it's not a lettuce my chef. It also had a dressing which was a salt less aioli with a faint trace of wasabi and some leaf blended in to make it green (def not green from that little of wasabi). The tuna quality was sashimi grade but it felt like they didn't think so and thus added all the unnecessary dressings and sisho. I didn't enjoy it. The other 2 seafood choices were miso flavored something something and lobster for the lobster fans. They don't offer a special for seafood just steak which for a steakhouse is unusual imo. if you go Japanese style do it more authentic or make it taste fantastic. So one out of 2 steaks were good and my wife didn't mind that it was sashimi salad so 2 out of 4 people happy. I rated 3 stars but it was 1.5 for me. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal here. There were plenty of reservations day before and day off. I appreciated how quick service was, we were in and out in about 50 minutes. My only complaint is the lemonade is $9 and no refills. It tasted like Minute Maid. That is the price of a cocktail at most places even in Hawaii... it doesn't make sense that the lemonade is twice the price of apple juice. The kona abalone escargot style was great 9.5/10 and tasted just like escargot. My boyfriend and I split the tomahawk which I highly recommend. All steaks come out sizzling on plates so they recommend you get it a temperature lower than you want because it will continue to cook at your table. We ordered a side of chimichurri sauce which we barely even touched because their onion sauce is so good! Our sides were Mac & cheese and sweet corn, both of which I recommend! We got the watermelon soft serve for dessert which I highly recommend as well. Overall, this is a great steakhouse and we plan to go back with friends. read more

We had an amazing evening at Aloha Steak House! My daughter who is celebrating her 24th birthday really enjoyed our experience here and wanted to visit again, so here we are! We were served by Loreal, who I believe goes by Lori. When she approached us she was so very kind and we knew our experience would be great! She allowed us some time to review the beverage menu and we ordered our drinks shortly after. We were then provided the entree menu and what a selection. She made some great suggestions and we decided to order the Tomahawk and the Steak Cap. The Tomahawk was a perfect choice. It was prepared on a hot plate and sizzling to perfection and once ready they give the option of having them cut it in front of you. Good choice considering how large it is. We opted to have our Tomahawk prepared medium rare, which was perfect! The also provided an additional sizzling plate when the steak cooled down, which made the experience even better since the meat would soon cool down. My wife opted for the Steak Cap that I mentioned earlier and that was incredible. We never thought of just having the Steak Cap, which is the part of a rib eye that is opposite side of the bone, between the center fat that goes down 1/3 of the steak. This was an amazing cut of meat. We sat outside which great. We enjoyed the outdoor ambiance and the pleasant weather. We've been here a number of times and will be back again. Highly recommend this place. 32 oz A5 wagyu tomahawk was amazing with truffle butter on the side. But what really stood out to us was the complimentary onion Maui sauce that pairs wells with the tomahawk. This was definitely the star of the night. So if you're doing keto, ketovore, or carnivore, this is one of your new Waikiki spots. Their steaks come with seasoned butter which is really nice. Butter and steak ... perfect pair for nutrient dense eating. You have the option of ordering accompaniments such as truffle butter or chimichurri sauce which are both keto, but honestly don't need it. 2 of the guys in our party ordered the lamb chops and really liked them. There's also a good selection of fish and seafood. This restaurant offers huge bone-in tomahawks that arrive on a sizzling platter and look amazing. Those people get a bib so it doesn't splatter all over your clothes. We gotta try one next time. The steaks get a 10/10 for value and portion size and a 7-8/10 for quality. Definitely worth checking out. The night went really well other than our food taking long to arrive due to several large parties dining at the same time.
