It was not too busy between lunch and dinner. We came in and they seated us promptly. The decor is very cute and fanciful. Like a wedding party. You order from your phone from a qr code website. It is very hands off and convenient. We got roti with curry sauce as the appetizer and it was yummy. A bit expensive, but good. Don't get pho noodles with the noodle soups. They are overcooked and too soft. We got Tom yum soup and chicken Laksa. The soups were OK tasting.
After a year in my bookmarks, finally got around to Amazing Basil in for their lemongrass chicken laksa noodle soup which does have a kick but not unbearably hot. The basil pork with rice and egg wasn't what we expected though so was a bit disappointed. Being under the BBQ special section, was expecting grilled pork slices vs. ground pork. But would be back for their different laksa and drinks like their mango mojito made with mango puree and pure sugar cane juice that was so good, I got a second one to go. You do order by a QR code so if you want to add more food or drinks, they have to reopen your tab for you.
Had a nice dinner at Amazing Basil in Fremont. The Pad Thai was decent, and the papaya salad had a great kick that really hit the spot. The ambiance was one of my favorite parts. Beautiful atmosphere with cute decor throughout that made the place feel warm and inviting. Overall, a great place to enjoy Thai food, and I'd definitely come back to try more dishes.
The interior is such a vibe! The decor is super cute, and the servers are very kind. Parking can be a nightmare in this very busy plaza, but if you get there early, it's not a problem. I met up with my non-vegan best friend, and we both loved our meals. We shared two vegan appetizers and each got our own entree. I appreciate that they have a separate vegan menu with lots of options to choose from. Here's what we ordered: Mango Mojito, Vegan Thai Tea, Roti Curry, Vegan Crispy Eggplant Strips, Vegan Shrimp Laksa Noodle Soup, and Premium BBQ Combo. The presentation of our dishes was on point, and the portions were generous. Everything I tried was super flavorful and delicious. The curry sauce for the roti was incredible, and the breading on the crispy eggplant was really flavorful and tasty, though I was a bit surprised by the ketchup on top. Next time, I'd ask for the ketchup on the side. The laksa noodle soup broth had an amazing depth of flavor. I didn't try the mango mojito or BBQ combo, but my friend said she absolutely loved them! Highly recommend checking this place out; we're definitely going back to try more things!
I've dined in a handful of times over the last few years but have ordered Door Dash or takeout from here another handful of times. When I've gotten takeout I have almost always gotten the premium bbq combo with garlic noodles. The portions are hearty with flavorful meats that last me for 2 meals. This latest time my friends and I were able to dine in I got to sit on what I would call the "pretty" side where the wall was decorated beautifully. In the past I have only sat at the side closest to the door. We decided to order a few of their appetizers and small dishes to share instead of what we normally opt for. I really enjoyed the papaya salad, clams, and fried eggplant sticks. We got there pretty close to when the restaurant opened and were able to enjoy a very leisurely and comfortable lunch catching up. I know I will likely order the premium bbq combo again in the near future for work lunch and maybe try a few other dishes when I dine in next.
Great ambiance and delicious food! Went there to celebrate a friend's birthday. Restaurant has beautiful floral decor which added to our celebration! Food was delicious but the service was a bit slow since they had only two servers on the floor. Most dishes were awesome but few were a miss. For a Thai place in Bay Area, their spice level is pretty much on a mild side. They have QR self ordering on the phone so it was quick but if you have questions then you had to wait until you could get the server's attention. Their drink menu is mostly boba teas & few sake based cocktails. Overall a great experience! I want to start off by mentioning the location--it's in a great spot with plenty of things to check out nearby. I stopped by a bakery and a Japanese grocery store before coming, which made the visit even more enjoyable. We were seated right away and able to place our order quickly, which I appreciated. However, I was a bit bummed about the food. My soup had little to no flavor--I understand it may not be their specialty, but it could definitely use a bit more seasoning. I also ordered a Thai tea with 100% sugar, and it still tasted a bit bland. Overall, the place is really cute and has a nice vibe, and parking is easy since there's a large lot available. I would come back, but I'd probably try something different next time.
This place is my friends' post hike go-to place. There's usually no-wait for getting a table, even for big group of people. The service is super good - the servers are super attentive in refilling the water jugs, and the food is served super quickly after ordering. There is a wide variety of south east Asian entrees on the menu. I've tried the laksa and khao soi curry noodles and both were great. My friends also really like the rice plates and the soft crab bread bowl. The drinks are also reasonably priced and tasty as well.
The food here is seriously tasty. My sister and I started with the Singapore Chili Crab Crackers, and they were incredibly addictive--crispy, savory, and packed with flavor. For mains, I had the Salty Egg Yolk Fried Rice with tiger shrimp, which was rich, fragrant, and super satisfying. My sister ordered the seafood laksa noodles. While it was still good and flavorful, we've definitely had laksa elsewhere that was creamier and a bit more indulgent. We also tried the fresh sugarcane juice, which was light, naturally sweet, and really refreshing alongside the meal. Service was solid, and everything ran smoothly. There's no physical menu--you scan a QR code and order straight from your phone, which was easy and convenient. The space itself is huge, with tables nicely spaced out, so it doesn't feel crowded even when it's busy. Overall, a great spot for bold flavors, with a few standout dishes we'd happily come back for.
My group loved the food here! My friends and I came because we were feeling Thai for dinner and we saw that Amazing Basil has a good amount of vegan options for one of our guys that was on a short term vegan diet. I ordered the khao soi with fried chicken and the others ordered fried chicken with massaman curry and a vegan seafood laksa noodle. We also got the fried eggplant sticks to share. All the food was amazing! We enjoyed our dishes and it left us wanting more. My khao soi was good, but the fried chicken was THE HIGHLIGHT of the dish, almost to the point that it made the curry and noodles seem a bit bland, but alternating between the soup/noodles/fried chicken was so good. My friends also really enjoyed their meals, one commenting that they really enjoyed the sweet potato chunks in their curry and wished there was more of it, and the other commenting that their vegan seafood dish was surprisingly good (although it had a hard boiled egg in it). We were also SHOCKED by the eggplant because we had no clue it was as big as it was. It was like over a foot long. The ketchup drizzled on top... wasn't the most appetizing vibe and I wish it was just on the side (and I'd argue ranch would be even better)
Restaurant week 2026! Sad I missed 2025 (I was out of state and although flew back during restaurant week on a weekend, THEY ONLY SERVE THIS SPECIAL DURING DINNER ON THE WEEKDAYS... good excuse to get out of the house ;)!) Went here for the first time in 2024 during restaurant week. Was super sad they took over 369 but they serve legit food! Malaysia, Viet, Thai... ***heard their laksa is bomb dot com but I'm allergic to coconuts...*** Their plate for restaurant week is pretty much the same every year (like in 2024 they gave sugarcane as the beverage) but it's awesome they don't cheap you on the ingredients used such as for the vegan Thai tea, they used oat milk! No poultry on the plate! Beef, shrimp, fish, vegan beef, etc... Why 4 stars? I just wished their papaya salad had more flavor because I'm obsessed with papaya salad (which typically has MASSIVE amounts of flavor esp in Thailand!). Moreover, I disliked their huge arse strips of eggplant (aren't they typically thin slices?). Plus love Thai basil beef but chunks of meat were huge and dry. But OVERALL, I can't complain. SERVICE: They are REALLY nice. I had someone try the Thai tea first who told me it was coconut milk so I told one of the servers I'm allergic to coconuts and could I just have the traditional Thai tea...they're like it's made out of oat milk. When the plate came out, the server still remembered this teeny tidbit (they were busy with multiple big tables) and emphasized what had coconut and for me to watch out...MAJOR PROPS! Pay upfront at the cashier or online via the QR code. (You also order via the QR code) VIBEZ: Definitely Hawaiian vibes. Lots of wedding esque decor. Clean. Located in the Osaka marketplace (who remembers this was the lion marketplace?!) and lots of parking. Would I come back? Yes!
Interesting concept as they offer a fusion of Southeast Asian dishes, mainly Thai, Vietnamese, and Singaporean/Malaysian. Very solid flavors, I'd definitely come back to try more items! RECS: + Seafood laksa ($18.50) was my favorite, I got it with thick rice noodles (think bun bo hue!). Lots of proteins and flavor from the laksa + Singaporean chili crab cracker ($15) reminded me of bun rieu in terms of the seemingly tomato based flavor, but it was good and different! PASS: + Roti curry (9.25) reminded me of Thai curry which was pretty good, just wasn't a fan of the roti

Came in on a Saturday night with friends! Amazing Basil was busy, but my party of 3 was immediately seated. The interior is cutely decorated with flowers, string lights, and teddy bears. The table ordered crab toast, salty egg fried rice, pork shoulder, tom yum, and a sugarcane juice each. The food arrived promptly despite the full house. My personal favorite was the salty egg fried rice! The pork shoulder was a close second. I didn't think the tom yum was as sour as it usually is at other Thai places. I thought the crab toast was okay - but happy to say I tried it. Overall, a decent place for shareable plates, yummy drinks, and nice atmosphere! read more

Pros: - aesthetic decorations and vibes - variety of dish options Cons: - none of the dishes were that amazing. Jack of all trades, master of none situation. - noodle soup dishes were lukewarm - service is basically nonexistent. Servers were super inattentive even when we tried to flag them down We got the fried squid legs, seafood laksa with thick rice noodle, and Thai boat noodle with thin rice noodle. The fried squid legs were mid, not bad but nothing to write home about either. The seafood laksa was probably the best dish we ordered. I enjoyed the thick rice noodles, but the soup was not hot enough. I enjoyed all the onions in the Thai boat noodle. Overall, there are better southeast Asian restaurants in the bay area. But if you can't decide whether you want Thai, vietnamese, or singaporean food, and are okay with mediocrity, then you should come here. read more

Very cute place. Lots of parking outside. You order food with QR code here. Lots of customers on weekday lunch time. We tried a few dishes: basil lime chicken wings, Tom yum noodle, sizzling bbq combo plate and Thai style pork knuckle. The Thai style pork knuckle is more Taiwanese style than Thai. It's not braised tender like the one I had in Thailand. It's a little on the dry side. Wings are ok. Very hot coming out. The tom yum noodle was really good. Packed with ingredients. Must try. Ordered: Thai Massaman Rice with Brisket Flavor wise: loved the flavor of the curry! It definitely satisfied my craving! One thing I wished was that it was spicier? But that's just personal preference. The meat was also pretty tender, but brisket does have fatty pieces so keep that in mind if you're not a fan of fatty meats (you can't tell in the curry). I also liked how they put an egg, I thought it tied the dish together perfectly. Couple things that I hope could change a little to make my experience better: The vegetables. Don't get me wrong, I am a fan of vegetables and I will eat them and enjoy them, but when they're just placed on your plate like that with little to no seasoning, tasting like they were just boiled and tossed on a plate, I can't say I enjoyed this. Maybe add a sauce to the veggies or season them a little more would help. Second thing, the rice was hard. Or at least some pieces were. Felt like there wasn't enough water in the rice, but I could've gone on an off day. Overall, I enjoyed the curry and would like to come back and try other dishes. read more
Came here right after their 5 PM opening on a Sunday. We were seated immediately as the restaurant only had 1 other group seated. By the time we left 2 hours later, the restaurant was pretty full. For ordering, you order at the table by scanning a barcode and ordering so not much interaction with the staff. So not much on to say on the service side. No one checked on us so when we did need something we'd have to find a server ourselves which is why the 4 stars. Food wise - I got the Seafood Laksa, it was really delicious. The first time I've ever ordered one and it was very hearty/ flavorful. We ordered the " must have" garlic bread, it was ok. Just some normal garlic bread. My friend ordered some type of tofu meal and she really liked it too. The boba is also really good. All in all, I would go again. It was really good food wise but I wish the staff were more attentive. read more

Food is delicious. Both hubby and I enjoyed all the flavors...primarily non-meat (or at least very little meat) in our dishes. Me: They have a few versions of laksa. I had the veggie version which has a perfectly soft boiled egg and an incredibly flavored broth. What I loved about my dish is that unlike so many other restaurants it came bursting with vegetables filled to the brim...broccoli, onion, red cabbage, onion, and tofu. The servings here are not for the faint of heart. The hubby: He ordered the salt and pepper tofu plate with veggies, egg roll, and an egg on top of rice. It was huge! The tofu was crispy and had the perfect amount of salt. The mound of veggies was also a good amount. He thoroughly enjoyed his plate. We: Our appetizer was roti curry. Get this! I can never resist a freshly made, lightly crispy roti with beautifully savory and creamy curry. This was perfect. We've been back once this week already. That's how much we enjoyed the food. Tips: On weekends it is very busy. We waited an hour before being seated and were able to order. We put our name down at 1pm on a Saturday. The place didn't clear out until about 2:30. Go early or late for your meal. Additionally, we went on a Wed night and there was no wait at 8pm. Also, it says they are hiring and like other restaurants these days they desperately need wait staff. On both visits, we waited a long time to get someone's attention for assistance and for the bill/ to go boxes. read more

Finally tried Amazing Basil! We came around 1:30 PM on a Sunday and there was still a waitlist. We waited about 15 minutes to get seated. Super cute decor inside, and it's also quite a spacious restaurant. Once seated, I ordered the Tom Yum Noodle Soup, my dad got the Thai Street Noodle, and my mom got the Amazing Basil Pork with Rice & Egg. Usually I'm a sucker for Tom Yum Soup, but my favorite this time had to be my mom's dish. The flavors were so good and so savory and I'll definitely be ordering that next time. Docking a star due to the slow service. My mom's order came out first and then we had to wait about another 20 minutes for my dad's to come out and mine came out about 5 minutes after that. Despite them having a lot of servers working in the front, they didn't seem to be in a rush to serve the dishes that were coming out. They did put up a notice that they are short-staffed so that's something to keep in mind. read more
Finally, a restaurant in Fremont with good aesthetics & good food! Amazing Basil has been on my list for a while and I finally had the chance to visit it. Particularly on a cold winter night, the noodle soup seemed extra inviting as well! The wait time for a party of 2 on a Friday night was around 30 mins, which is fair. Our server was warm and polite and answered our questions patiently (its a plus esp. on a busy night). We ordered the N10. Thai Tom Yum Noodle (this is absolutely delicious), Basil Lime Fries (was not crunchy, so not a big fan), Chili Crab Toast (despite being not so keen on sweet & spicy combo, but i liked this one) All in all, I would definitely be coming back here (esp coz they have so much more to offer in terms of variety of dishes) and would highly recommend this to anyone who wants to try Southeat Asian Cuisine and not to mention, enjoy the pretty decor :) read more
Long wait, excellent food. My party of 3 waited about 30 minutes to be seated due to Amazing Basil being understaffed. You have to physically write down your name on the clipboard and wait to be called. Because they are understaffed, you order via a QR code. If you needed something, you would have to flag down a staff member since they were mainly just bringing out the food and cleaning tables. It was a bit noisy in the restaurant as well, but that was typical for Sunday lunchtime. The first thing to arrive to our table was the bone marrow. They scorched it right in front of you, and it was sooo savory and flavorful. They provided three slices of bread to spread the bone marrow over, and there was still enough for a second scoop. I got my tomato crab soup next, and it was delicious! The crab paired well with the tomato based soup. They added a generous amount of crab alongside the vermicelli noodles and ham. I would get this if you want soup! The portion was huge for one person, so it's definitely shareable. Last thing to arrive to our table was the chili crab toast. This was okay. The crab and the chili was very flavorful, but I think the chili itself overpowered the crab. Overall, the food is excellent here, but be prepared to wait! read more

Came for lunch with my family and had 9 parties in front of us so had to wait a bit. The restaurant seemed pretty busy and kinda understaffed since there were empty tables but they weren't being served. The inside of the restaurant is really nice decorated which is pretty refreshing for a restaurant in Fremont :') Giving this place 5 stars because everything we had was really tasty. ESPECIALLY the salt and pepper tofu appetizer. I highly recommend it! It's the perfect amount of crispness on the outside but super soft inside, and the flavor was all there. Besides that the other things we ordered were solid too. However, would recommend getting thai dishes over Vietnamese dishes here since those were generally better. Will be adding this place to one of my go to restaurants! read more

Heard about this place on Instagram and decided to check it out. Great place for a variety of Southeast Asian food. There is plenty of parking here as it's in the same lot as the Osaka Marketplace. There was plenty of seating when I arrived and they said I could sit wherever I wanted and to just order by scanning the QR code. My friends and I split the roti curry. Very nice and rich flavor. I got the shrimp laksa, first time having laksa and wow truly amazing flavor! Good portion for the price as well. Would definitely recommend. I also got taken in by the beautiful colors of the golden violet drink and it was very tasty. Overall would return! Also love that they offer a pretty extensive vegan menu, my friend had some dietary restrictions and the menu allowed her a lot of choices. read more
Just like all the popular restaurants, once customers need to wait for table or wait for foods, the magic of the places will vanish as quickly as unexpected. We came for the Fremont Restaurant Week Special, which was a sampler of its assorted appetizers at $28. We were told it's no longer available. So we struggled a little bit to order from the digital menu w/ our phone. The restaurant doesn't offer WiFi, the 5G speed was horrendous. Eventually we ordered B4 and B5 just to get over with it. Then it's another 30 minutes wait. It's obvious the plate was smaller and the food quantity was less(no doggy bags this time). The sad part was that taste was also different. B5 had too much fish sauce (salty), and B4 was on the greasy side. Overall, we were both disappointed and surprised by the degradation of this restaurant. There were still people waiting in line, maybe that's the reason it's going down hill. read more

I wasn't expecting much from this place when we got here, but I was pleasantly surprised to see how cute the place is on the left side of the restaurant. Reminds me of Son and Garden. To order you open the menu on your phone from a QR code and place your order. There is a water bottle on each table for you to serve yourself water. We ordered: - Roti Curry - Roti with Thai Curry - roti is thin and flaky. Tasty with the curry, but wished the curry was just a tad bit more flavorful - Amazing Chili Ribeye - Served w/ Greens Salad & Homemade Salad Dressing, Pickled Carrots & Seasonal Veggie, Veggie Imperial Roll, Homemade Nuoc Cham Sauce. You can pick from noodles, salad or rice and a sunny side egg. We picked the rice with sunny side egg. The dish also came with Jalapeno Sauce. The ribeye and sauce highlighted the dish. Pretty good! - Seafood Laksa Noodle includes Shrimp, Calamari, Scallop, Fish Ball, Crab Stick, Mussels, and fried tofu. Very tasty laksa. Could keep eating it, but I was so full. Amazing Basil has always been a place my wife and I come to all the time. Really enjoy the food, I usually order the tomatoes crab noodles and my wife usually order the rice plate bbq, I usually like to order the sides with the salt and pepper tofu and other sides they have. I think I found my go-to spot in Fremont. I would say the clams were my favorite. The basil wine sauce was really tasty and the portion was rather pretty big, a good amount to share with 2-3 people. I got the Thai Boat Noodle and it exceeded my expectations. I do wish the noodles were opted out for other noodles, but other than that I really did enjoy my meal. If you do come on the weekends, be prepared that parking might be hard since it is in a busy plaza. read more

In the mood for Asian cuisine lunch and decided to try this place. Lunch time and not surprisingly busy. My wait wasn't that long tho. Ordered the roti with curry for apps, coconut water and their protein plate with rice n egg. Roti was pretty good. Tad greasy but the curry dip was good enough to satisfy my craving. Coconut water as always was good. Protein plate was huge. With chicken, shrimp n some beef, steamed veggies, steamed rice with sunny side up egg. It tasted good. I can't eat that much rice but I appreciate the portion. 3 items for $35 n change. Not bad. The ladies who served the food were nice despite of the business. read more

In general had some very creative items not available at typical restaurant. However everything was very very mild. Even the chili paste lacked heat. We tried: Bone marrow 4/5. Tasty and nice change with pickled veggies Papaya salad w beef - 5/5 super tasty and have never had with beef. Ordered med spicy. Next time wull do spicy. Grilled lemon grass chicken served bun style - 3.5/5. Chicken was nice noodles where bland even sauced and not enuf green veggies only sprouts Pork chop bahn mei - 4/5. Meat, roll and baby greens were very good. Needed more pickled veggies and some fresh jal. Peppers Musamun brisket rice - 2.5/5. Mostly tastes of coconut milk. Butterfly tea 5/5. Came here looking for a good bowl of soup after a long week! My bf and I both ordered a bowl of pho, veggie egg rolls and the fish sauce chicken wings. The egg rolls were cold and mushy which was a shame because the fish sauce was yummy! The pho came out and this is absolutely where they fell flat. The broth is 100% instant pho broth. No depth and super watered down. They served a massive side of raw beef but the broth came out lukewarm so no way was it cooking in that. When we asked for sriracha, they brought out the Tabasco brand and I would have lost it there but the fish sauce wings came in to kindof make up for the flavorless food. They came out hot and the sauce was okay. These were the most edible part of the meal. I want to note that they did say they were short staffed so service was lacking but it wasn't bad. Otherwise, it would have been one star for me. **They are currently running a deal for 50% off clams or mussels if you show them a Yelp review before you pay. This may attribute to some inaccurate ratings. My personal opinion is to stay away. read more

As a Thai boat noodle lover, I was excited to see this restaurant had it, so we stopped by for lunch. We ordered the boat noodles, seafood street noodles, and roti. The portion of the roti was a bit small, more like a Chinese green onion pancake. The laksa was pretty average, so I wouldn't recommend it. As for the boat noodles--the main event--it looked promising, but the soup base lacked flavor and was overly salty. I was disappointed. The seafood street noodles were also just okay. I saw this restaurant on social media recommendation and wanted to try it out. After work, I ordered some dishes to try online and went to pick it up. The order was said to be ready for pick up but I still had to wait for a good while (maybe they were busy after work and that's their peak time) When I got home, I would say most of the foods were a bit soggy already with the Pad Thai sticking to each other. I definitely think maybe take out was a factor. But I would not recommend to get the pad Thai and fish cake here. There are other places with much better quality food. Amazing basil have a variety of Thai, Chinese and Vietnamese dishes from Thai Spicy Basil Mussels, noodles like Laksa, Salted Egg Fried Rice and BBQ meats, so there's something for everyone! Ambiance is nice as there are some decorative flowers/ teddy bear around the restaurant. My personal favorite was the whole bone marrow with toast that was torched, so it has a smokey crisp layer and the tender and savory Thai Chili Ribeye. Do end off your meal with a boba! read more
