I also appreciated the fact that Kyra did not try to upsell us. We asked her how much cake we needed for the # of guests we have. Both she and the baker said that the order we entered would be a LOT of cake and would result in massive leftovers. We would not have space in our fridge for that much leftover cake. I appreciated the fact that Kyra was honest and gave us a good recommendation as opposed to trying to sell us more than what we needed. That type of professional honesty results in repeat customers. Renata delivered the cake early on wedding day. She was communicative throughout the entire process. We were happy with the service, communication, and delivery! Since we opted for a wedding on the beach (at the Jacky Durrell Pavilion in Fairfield), we wanted an ocean-themed cake. After searching the internet, we found a gorgeous design and asked if Renata could make something similar. What she delivered was breathtaking. One of guests didn't even think it was a real cake! It's honestly a place I've been wanting to try at least once back during my overnight misadventures of the 2010's and I'm only just now getting to come here for the first time in 2026. I do notice that the reviews before mine seem to be mixed. People either love it or hate it. I can't say that I love it yet, but I definitely did not hate it. This is definitely more a place I might go if I have to wait longer for the train in between trains ever since I started transferring in Stratford over Bridgeport. Today's order consisted of a Large Hot Cinnamon Mocha and the two donuts you see in the photo attached. Honestly, nothing was bad about my order. The coffee I got was definitely better than that latte I had Ubered from New Canaan last week. As for the donuts, they were good, but they weren't amazing. I do appreciate that my French Cruller had a chocolate frosting on top, but as you can see from the missing icing some of it stuck to the bag. That's why if someone were to bag my donuts I'd prefer a chocolate glaze over any kind of frosting. I like getting the complete item. Speaking of the chocolate glaze, I liked the donut. Again, not a groundbreaking donut by any means, but I would get it again. The price is good too. Ever since the station cafe started doing a $10 card minimum, I stopped going to it because I can't justify paying $10 for a coffee when I need to use cash for other things. Here, I only needed to pay $7.25 for the entire order, and it honestly made more sense for me to order enough to that amount here. The coffee is cheaper too even if you take the $10 minimum argument out entirely. Where coffee was $3.76 at the station, this one was $3.21 before tax. Yeah, if and when the Waterbury branch has difficulties staying on time, I won't mind coming here again to try more things.

I've been seeing Scratch Baking on social media quite a bit and finally had the chance to get there…read moreyesterday. It was later in the day when I went in, so some of the cases were not as full as I would imagine they are in the morning. However, I was still able to get myself a chocolate chip muffin to have for breakfast the next day. The muffin was hands down one of the best I've had! I put it in the microwave for a few seconds and enjoyed every bite! I definitely want to get back there earlier in the day and try other pastries and bakery items.
