I have been to many boba places and hands down, Ambrosia Brew has to be my favorite. I ordered the Wintermelon Black Tea (I have tried over 10 wintermelons around LA) and this one is up to par. It is almost similar to the ones I had in Taiwan. The owner (I presume) was very welcoming and invited suggestions for his drinks. Although the winter melon was amazing was amazing, it was a tad bit too sweet but he invited suggestions and mentioned the modification to his recipe. Service from the owner was so so accommodating and kind but the teas we got from the top ten list is just not my cup of tea. I really like a strong tea taste and this one seems not too sweet but not fragrant enough for me. I think the teas are geared towards someone getting into tea or kids. The winter melon milk tea had great flavor, but it was a little on the sweeter side for my taste. If you're ordering it, I'd recommend getting 75% sweetness or less so the tea flavor can shine through more. The watermelon slush was refreshing, smooth, and perfect for a warm day. With Sung's invitation, we returned to try the drinks we originally wanted--the Jasmine Milk Tea and the Strawberry Matcha, both with tapioca pearls (boba). The boba was definitely fresh, with a pleasant chew and just the right touch of sweetness. As for the drinks, the Jasmine Milk Tea could benefit from more tea leaves or a longer brewing time, as the tea flavor was lighter than my preference. The sweetness level was spot on; it just needed a bit more depth from the tea itself. The same applies to the Strawberry Matcha. My husband would have preferred a stronger matcha flavor and for the strawberry component to taste less like artificial syrup. Overall, the customer service was superb, and the owner is incredibly friendly and welcoming. The establishment brand new renovated and pretty spacious for a boba shop. The taste of blueberry and Oreo ended up being a fantastic combination. I will say that the texture felt more like a smoothie. It was icy and wasn't as thick as I would imagine a shake to be. The earl grey milk tea was delicious !!!! it has a strong black tea base, reminiscent of royal milk tea. As a tea and earl grey lover, I truly reccomended it :3 The service was also amazing, the man at the counter was very patient and sweet. A new boba shop in the neighborhood! I've been here only a couple of times, but have enjoyed every single drink I've gotten. The staff was always very helpful at answering all my annoying questions and allowed me to modify my drinks! I typically don't expect good customer serivce when I see younger people working, but the 2 that helped me out were great and really made me want to come back (: There's indoor seating and little crane machines to play, which I think would be great for kids. I am typically not a smoothie or slushy person, but that's literally the only thing we've had here and they were all so good!!! We've tried the mango and lychee yogurt smoothie, mint choco frappe, peanut butter choco smoothie, cookies & cream shake, and a tiger frosty. I honestly would recommend any of these they were all so good. The yogurt smoothies had a tarty base because of the yogurt, similar to Yakult. I definitely preferred the yogurt smoothies over the regular ones, but again both great! The tiger frosty had a very familiar taste.... it reminded me of my college years when I would drive up to the 626 and get an iced milk drink from Half & Half.... except the Tiger Frosty is better than the iced milk drink LOL I also wanted to mention that we came at 6pm and the boba was nice and warm. The boba was prefectly cooked and chewy, tasted very fresh! I'm looking forward to try their milk teas and everything else they have to offer. I don't doubt that their other drinks are just as good.
