I got to Amy's and the girl said oh we put your order for June 19. How in the world can a So cal manager do this. I specifically told her to make sure to have it June 12 even on their screen said June 12. Now she wants to make it seem like I told her June 19. This is so unprofessional!!!! I don't write reviews, but how can a place do this. And to now even apologize not owning their mistake. I would not recommend this place to anyone. So unprofessional. My daughter has been coming here for pastries and wanted the Amy's Delight cake for her birthday. I called their number and was told that I could place my order on their website. That was a bunch of nonsense because their website did not accept orders. I called back and waited on hold for 40minutes. I finally got tired and just hung up. On her birthday we just drove there and picked up a Amy's delight cake for her. What a huge disappointment! We have purchased many cakes from several bakeries around town and Amy's is now ranked at the bottom of the bottom of the list. The cake was boxed in some cheap flimsy cardboard box with no cake cutter included . We had her birthday at a hotel so that was a hassle. I was hoping that the cake would be so moist and delicious that it would justify the website and phone mishaps as well as the poor packaging ,but again, it was a HUGE letdown. Cake was as dry as the box it came in and left a bad taste in my mouth as Amy's customer services. My daughter had a couple of bites and was done with it. Stopped by on 4th of July. Surprisingly there was no line compared to other major holidays. I came in to buy a few items to film for my eating show. Purchased several items including cupcakes. Two of The regular cupcakes as well as two of these special faux burger ones. While looking at the display some cupcakes had flags in them. The 4 picked by the worker assisting me did Not have a flag so I asked to get a flag or one with it. She told me no problem and walked me to the register, while charging me she stated she would need to CHARGE ME AN EXTRA 15 CENTS FOR THE FLAG! I asked if the other cupcakes that had flags cost extra and she looked confused! Being that I was in a hurry I said it was fine and PAID THE EXTRA CHARGE even after spending more thank $20 on other items as well. Gotta LOVE when business NICKEL AND DIMES. Considering the silly charge I decided NOT TO ADVERTISE for Amy's on my eating show, but still used the items anyways. read more

I love Amy's bakery, my family & I have been coming here for as long as they've been around. Today's customer service from TAPANGA L was beyond horrible. As I walked in, I asked an employee if there were any blended drinks w/coffee, he mentioned that he can only blend the mocha which has espresso. We carried on an entire conversation on blended drinks. When Topanga called my number, she laughed when I ordered my blended drink, stating that they're not making them today. She shined me off as I explained that an employee just told me that he can. Again she laughed at me when I made a remark asking if all employees could be on the same page, as that was an inconvenience (while I waited for 30 mins, my husband could have been at Starbucks!!!!) She said it's not my problem if he's new, we tell all our customers the same thing (rudely walking away). When I asked her for her name, she yelled across the way, it's on your receipt! & to think that I drove an hour and a half away to be treated like this!? Smh. I think that's the last time I do that. I came and placed an order and asked for an extra box, the employee said "we do not sell our boxes" When on earth have you ever heard of that?!? You do not give out extra boxes??? Really??? I've been coming here for about 50 years. As a little girl, when the amazing Japanese ladies were so kind and perfectly neat! Running back and forth behind the counter to happily help you once your number was called. I stopped years ago when the business was sold because the new owners ran the business completely opposite. Recently I heard the business was sold again, so I thought I'd give it a try. Well wow, what a bad experience. It was thanksgiving so I was stuck. The girl that helped us was rude, kind of dirty, and completely uninterested in my customer experience. I was quiet and patient because understanding it was a holiday, she must have been tired and wanted to go home. I was charged for something I didn't order or receive...a pecan ring. Omg so pricey! The stupid pecan ring was 13.50, I also got 1dz rolls, 10 stupid cookies, and five stupid cupcakes. Total $58.50! I wouldn't have ordered what I did if I knew the prices. Did I miss seeing the prices? Did you have any prices posted? I could be wrong, but I don't think so. I always know what I'm paying at Porto's because they have little signs clearly showing next to each and every item. The rolls were just ok. Definitely not worth $15/dz. Couldn't tell you about the pecan ring. The cookies were just ok. And the cupcakes were hard and inedible. Lol the color of the frosting was like baby poop. Complete waste of my money and embarrassed that I showed up to dinner with such crappy stuff. read more

Recently saw a TikTok video about Amy's having roaches in their cakes and I had to laugh. My family and I have been coming to Amy's for nearly 10 years (probably more) and we have NEVER had any issues. From their cakes to their individual pastries, everything is delicious. They always have several employees working the counters so service is fast too. I highly recommend their raspberry mousse and fruit tarts! So please ignore the TikTok kids who clearly will do anything for views, and try Amy's out! read more

We celebrated my daughter's 33rd birthday this weekend and chose a Mixed Fruit Tart From Amy's Pastry.  The girl behind counter asked which one we wanted and pointed to a tart on the top shelf.  My wife said no, not that one...the next one farther to right...the bigger one!  The server took the tart to put into a box for transport.   Meanwhile, another server lifted a Chocolate Layer cake that she had just Iced "Happy Birthday Evelyn" on it.  The gentleman that purchased the cake was quite pleased and I thought "He is going to be popular with Evelyn, whether Evelyn was his wife  or girlfriend or mother or daughter, this cake looked beautiful.  My wife asked me if we should put a greeting on the tart, and the server said she could do it, but time was short and I felt lucky enough to get this beautiful tart,  so we decided to just take as is.   The server boxed it and we went to a late lunch. After a late Lunch we went home to do final birthday celebrations...blow out candles...sing Happy Birthday...Have some Laugh's.   My Wife then made the announcement, "We Got Evelyn's Cake!"  There it was, instead of our beautiful fruit tart was Evelyn's chocolate cake in all it's glory. The dismay lasted a few minutes as I thought of the gentleman who was going to be Evelyn's "hero" and is now in a dog house somewhere. My daughter took a picture of the cake and sent it to her brothers (who are out of state) as proof that she is NOT THE FAVORITE CHILD!  And, of course, what options do we have? ...none. SO: To Evelyn, "HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" To Evelyn's family and friends... I hope you enjoyed the the Fruit Tart in Pastry Cream! I hope you found it both Beautiful and Delicious. And to everyone else.. I have waited on hold for 30 minutes and have called about 5 times and have had no answer. I live over an hour away so I wanted to try calling before I go in person and risk the customization not being available . Buddy of mines has been hyping this place non-stop. Finally we convinced him to drive 45 miles and grab these goodies so we can see if its legit or over-hyped. He brought 7 little gems back.. OMG they all look so tasty finally i decided to choose the Strawberry Fruit Tart. Man! I was blown away the strawberries were very fresh and were perfectly ripe drizzled with a little glazed coating to give them that extra punch of goodness. The filling was sweet but not overly sweet just enough to bring the tart together. Finally my favorite part had to be the buttery pie crust i'd expected it to be soggy after being out for hours, but shockingly I was happily surprised that not only was it not soggy it was nice and crispy. Adding blueberries to the mix truly makes this tart taste heavenly. OHH ITS SOOO GOOD!, It would not be an exaggeration to consider renaming this tart to Heavenly Fruit Tart. I've been going to Amy's for years. They have been a part of every celebration we've had. They're cakes are delicious and the bakers who complete the designs are amazing. This past week for the first time ever on two different occasions I had negative experiences with the staff (which is out of character). It was to the point where I was looking for another bakery to make my cake because I was feeling discouraged about working with some of the (newer) staff members. I called first thing on Tuesday and spoke with Hope the manager. Hope completely returned my faith in Amy's. Not only did she help me place the order, she went above and beyond to check on me the day of the party to make sure I was happy with my cake. And it was amazing! Amy's came through and created the cake I was envisioning for our Coco themed party. It was perfect! This was my first time here, and probably won't be back any time soon. I got to the counter and the lady over the counter in a very nasty way asked me if I wanted something. I clearly expressed myself and told her this was my very first time here, do you think she even say something, like good to hear that, or may I suggest this or that, anything, I just got a blank mute face. So, yeah I thought about leaving the pastry shop, but said what a heck let's see if a least the pastries are good. The coffee was good, the cream puff was bland and flavorless. Overall, the staff is edible, but definitely the customer service is to cry for. Need to train your personal to be nicer and more efficient, and effective. read more
