Very friendly staff. I got to try chả mực, chả tôm and chả cá. My fav got to be chả cá. Love how they give out samples comparing to other places where you have to buy the product to try. The older lady told me this place is newly opened recently and she bought a bunch of chả cá and chả tôm

Noticed this place while driving to the freeway. I just saw them advertised on Yelp while getting my nails done so wanted to check them out. Stopped by here late evening so found a parking spot right away. Got a rice porridge with ground beef to go and the lady talked me into buying their beef cha. The porridge was good, beef cha was also good (or was I too hungry since it was already late (past 8:00 pm) and I still had not had my dinner yet? The lady owner sliced up the beef cha for me so I can nibble in the car. It was a tad too soft compared to other places but the flavor was good. I want to be back and try other items she had in the store.

I saw on the YouTube channel (thugiantuoihuutaimy) that they often film delicious and affordable restaurants, and that's how I found this place. Today I stopped by to try some food and was extremely satisfied. The food was delicious, almost all the dishes were great (my daughter loved them), and especially, the two women working here were incredibly cheerful and lovely, making me want to come back again and again. Okay, now this shop will be the best choice for me to buy gifts for my friends. Thank you very much to the staff here for being so friendly and making such delicious food. Thank you to the YouTube channel (thugiantuoiohuutaimy).

I stopped by Chao & Cha for lunch and was pleasantly surprised. Sahara recommended that I order the pandan rice porridge (cháo lá dứa) with Vietnamese braised frog (ếch kho gừng). It was absolutely comforting and flavorful! The porridge had a light pandan aroma and a smooth, creamy texture. The braised frog was tender and coated in a rich savory sauce with hints of ginger that paired perfectly with the warm cháo. It also came with bean sprouts, herbs, lime, and pork floss on the side so you can customize each bite. I also grabbed a fresh green cucumber sugarcane drink which was refreshing and balanced out the meal nicely. The food felt very authentic and home-style Vietnamese comfort food. The portion was generous and the flavors were spot on. If you're looking for something different from the usual pho or banh mi, this is definitely worth trying.

This is a new store just opened recently on Euclid St/Westminster, next to Thanh Tam sandwiches. We stopped by on a weekday afternoon around 3:00pm and there was no line. We picked a couple items for cold cut and pate to eat with baguette. I like that they offered some samples which's smart to encourage more sale. So far so good. They have lots of items in freezer and some food to go items on the counter. The lady in front is super friendly and offer suggestions. The store is super clean and parking is ok on weekdays. Will definitely come back to try other items.

This is just based on the menu and food pics from the owner and the store. Was craving for some cháo & chả lụan and was in the area. Saw this and came over but it still closed, not quite done with set up yet. The store is quite big and quite nice with clean cut simple decor. Just the menu is up and the counter. The pics look great and yummy. Can't wait to give it a try once it's open. Parking is okey depending on the time of the day since the parking lot is share with the whole big plaza.

What a fantastic find! We randomly stopped in after driving by and we were pleasantly greeted by their large selection of house made cold cuts/meat loafs and friendly staff. They have spicy and non-spicy options and samples to try. I like how the samples were pre-packed and covered in individual containers, very sanitary. The store is clean and they have their options displayed well. Everything looked good and it also tasted good. We purchased three different rolls: cha lua (smooth blend pork loaf), cha mo (fatty fried meat loaf), and the head cheese which is my favorite. I usually hate cha lua because it leaves a weird feeling in my mouth after eating it (similar to the acid in spinach) but this one was nothing like the ones you get prepacked in the grocery stores. It was sweet, soft, and super flavorful. This was a thousand times better. The cha mo was very good too as was the head cheese. We bought the non spicy head cheese so I can shared with family but next time I would get the spicy. I enjoyed everything and look forward to coming back to try their other food.

This is a great clean food to-go spot! Perfect for a quick grab-and-go meal. The chao and cha are very delicious, fresh, and full of flavor. Everything is prepared quickly, making it super convenient when you're in a rush. Definitely a place I'll keep coming back to for tasty, fast, and satisfying food!

I was so happy when they opened up this Chao & Cha shop just down the street from my house. It's located near the 22 freeway off of Euclid. This unique little shop provides an abundance of to go items and there's a cute little dine in area. I am sure they offer at least 12+ kinds of cha. My favorites were the pork cha, fish cha, chicken cha, banh canh with fish cha, banh cuon with different cha's. It was also our first time trying pandan chao where you can pick your preferred protein. What a treat! The owner was very sweet and offered us numerous samples also. Will definitely be returning to try more!

One of my favorite Vietnamese seafood restaurants in the area. If you like anything and everything…read moreshellfish (claims, scallops, escargot, etc), then this is the place for you! Have been to this restaurant many times, and food is always consistent! Came visit to the restaurant last week, and ordered my favorite Grilled Escargot with Garlic Butter and Peppercorn, Grilled Scallops with Cheese, and my all-time favorite Chilean Sea Bass hot pot! The grilled escargots are a must-have when visiting this place! These are perfectly grilled with rich garlic butter for sweetness, and with a slight kick of spiciness from the peppercorn. Don't forget to also dip the escargot meat with black pepper and a few squeeze of fresh lime juice! If you like melted cheese, then the grilled scallops with cheese would be the perfect match. Each scallop is covered melted cheese and comes sizzling on a hot plate when ordered! Last but certainly not least, my favorite dish of this restaurant is the Chilean Sea Bass hot pot. The order comes with your own tabletop gas stove, along with a hot pot filled with a tom yum like sour soup base. For ingredients, it also includes a plate with slices of pineapple, quarter cut fresh tomato slices, fresh bean sprouts, rice noodles, and a full plate of large pieces of Chilean Sea Bass. Just put all the ingredients in the hot pot and let it cook for 5-10mins on high, I promise you it is one of the best soups you will ever have! Service is good as always. This place always seems to be busy, so you may have to be on the waitlist during certain business hours (eg holidays, prime dinner time, etc). Parking wise, the restaurant is located in a busy plaza, and so you may have to drive around a few times before finding an open spot. However as I said earlier, it's worth the wait. Highly recommended.

This Vietnamese fusion seafood restaurant specializes in fresh seafood and hot pots. We started with the razor clams, which were the standout of the meal. They were incredibly flavorful and paired with a delicious sauce that had us wanting every last bite. The spicy scallops were another solid choice with just the right amount of heat. The escargot was a little chewy, but the savory sauce made up for it. For our main dishes, we ordered the Tom Yum seafood hot pot, which was just okay. We also had the deep-fried tilapia, which was cooked perfectly--crispy on the outside. It's hard to go wrong with anything deep-fried here. Overall, the razor clams and deep-fried tilapia were the highlights of our meal. If you're willing to wait for a table, this is a good spot for fresh seafood with a few standout dishe

The pork patties were my favorite, and although there were plenty of the grilled pork, many of them were pieces with a lot of fat. That was my only gripe about it. Now about the hu tieu, which came with all the delicious bbq pork, shrimp, shredded chicken, fried garlic and onions, lightly dressed in an oh so delicious sauce. For me, the sauce was actually the star. Mix everything together and get yourself one delicious bite, filled with so much flavor. It comes served piping HOT so be careful! We also had the bun cha ha noi which is a very traditional Northern Vietnamese Nanoi dish. It has grilled pork patties and pork belly in a sweet savory fish sauce served with fresh herbs and cold rice vermicelli. You pretty much eat it by wrapping it with the lettuce or dip your noodles into the sauce. Very authentic and delicious without being overly heavy. Be prepared: this place is incredibly popular, especially during peak hours. Parking can definitely be challenging because of how busy it is. The last time I visited on a Monday, the lot was completely full, and I ended up parking on the street. The restaurant is also primarily cash only, so come prepared. They open early, making it a perfect breakfast spot for an early bowl of pho. The pho broth is exactly what I want when I'm craving comfort food--clean, flavorful, and incredibly soothing. However, the star of the meal for me was the chả giò. Wow. Although they arrived after our pho, they came out at the perfect temperature. I was hesitant to take a bite right away because freshly fried food usually burns my mouth, but these were just right. Crispy, airy, savory, and absolutely delicious. Paired with their fish sauce, it was perfection. I enjoyed the egg rolls so much that next time I'm definitely ordering the egg roll vermicelli bowl. Service was friendly and prompt despite how busy it was, and it's clear the staff works hard to keep things moving. One thing I love is seeing all of the awards and accolades displayed on the walls. Phở 79 received the prestigious James Beard America's Classics Award, and it's easy to understand why after one meal here. This restaurant is truly an Orange County icon. The restaurant will soon be moving to a new location, as signs throughout the restaurant announce the upcoming move. While I'll miss the original spot, I'm excited for the new space--hopefully with more parking! Some places are worth the wait, and Phở 79 is absolutely one of them.
