The place is located in an older shopping strip, but the interior itself reminds me of a Fish City Grill. We were sat immediately and serviced soon after. The menu has a wide array of seafood entrees, such as multiple types of tacos, po boys , or platters. We started off with a dozen gulf oysters - honestly, not the best and I really hope I don't have food poisoning tomorrow. They didn't seem to wash/clean them as bits were floating in them, some were dry and some were crunchy, it was an inconsistent experience and I kind of regret it in fear. Beyond that - our actual entrees were amazing. I got the Southwest Fish Tacos - huge serving, incredibly flavorful. I like how they have corn and fresh avocado in them. It also comes with a bean and rice side, however I will say it came out more watery/juicy so I wish they drained the bean water out. Other than that, would be great. My boyfriend got the crusted Parmesan flounder and it was super flavorful and cheesy. My only critique is I wish the portion size was bigger - either add a bigger fish, or more mashed potatoes. They also have good happy hour specials! Server is friendly and it seemed like a manager came around asking everyone how they were doing. We will be back read more

Came here for mother's day brunch 2k23, and honestly, it could have been better. Our party was a party of 8 and we were there at 10:45am. The server we had didn't even give us menus, and he said,"Oh sorry,I never work mornings."But you would think that as a server....the first thing you'd grab is a menu??? I asked for coffee and he didn't even ask me if I wanted cream and sugar, I had to wait a long time to get it. The Mother's Day brunch menu looked pretty good and sounded good, and I always have to have Eggs Benedict of some variety when going out for breakfast/brunch, and when I saw Salmon Eggs Benedict on the menu, I was happy. And I love extra Hollandaise sauce (which I asked for) But when I got my dish, I was disappointed because they didn't give me extra hollandaise sauce....Dang. The boyfriend ordered Chilaquiles, and it sure did smell good!! But he said all he could taste was the brunt char on the chicken, and it took them 20 min to make a bloody mary. The restaurant itself is nice and aesthetically pleasing.It's probably why we didn't notice the big menu drawn out in chalk on the whole of the back wall. We'd probably return again just to try another menu--maybe lunch or dinner, Brunch just missed the mark. Maybe at the time we come back, the staff will be awake. :| read more

I've been wanting to try this place for a while and we will be back!! We got take out so I can't speak on the ambiance/service as much. Although, our order was ready on time! The trout and tuna were FANTASTIC plates! I would 100% order these again. The appetizer shrimp was great too (very similar to bang bang shrimp - IYKYK). First off my waitress Ashley was amazing. Came in knowing I wanted salmon just not how. She recommended the grilled salmon. Stuffed with crab and shrimp with a lemon butter sauce. Amazing! First timers to Anaya's Seafood. First, we truly enjoyed the soup flight to start things off. Very tasty. Our dinners were flavorful and the abundance of food was crazy. It was great to know I had a variety of choices from their gluten free menu. I had the seafood enchiladas with a few personal choice modifications. My partner had the fried seafood trio and enjoyed the meal. The food was good and the staff was great. We will definitely be back. read more

I recently had lunch at Anaya's and ordered the Bourbon Street red fish. I was so disappointed! The blackened fish was way overcooked, not spicy as a traditional blackened fish should be and barely warm on one side and hot on the other. The tail section was dry as a chip and the corn bread underneath was room temperature and dry even though it was sitting atop gumbo. A friend ordered the fettuccine with chicken and she said that the chicken was cold like it had just come from the fridge, diced and put atop the pasta. We had churros for dessert which were worth the trip. I'm sorry to say that I will not be returning. read more

I vow to edit this review and add more photos because Anaya's is one of those restaurants that the food is always gone before I stop to take a picture, and I take my food pictures very seriously. We go to this Anaya's all the time and they are truly what I think of when I think of a great all-around restaurant. The food is delicious, consistently. The service is fast, and great. The atmosphere is lively but not so much that you're yelling over one another. Again, We love Anaya's! We frequently order the chef specials, always good, and rotate through the menu for our favorites. Try: the watermelon margarita, the fish and chips, the red snapper, AND don't sleep on the soup! This restaurant seems to be very popular but understaffed. While waiting for my table to be ready, everyone I asked coming out of the restaurant gave glowing reviews of the food. You will wait for a table and food to arrive, but I enjoyed my choices. Dynamite shrimp is a great appetizer, and my favorite entree so far is the bourbon red snapper with crawfish Etoufee served on top of a generous piece of cornbread. This was a chef's specialty featured on the restaurant's giant chalkboard. I will go back. I will try the lunch menu to see their other tasty dishes. read more

We are very disappointed with our experience last night at this place, totally different than our first visit last week when everything was great, we had Adrienna taking care of us and she was one of a kind,(funny, respectful and very sweet with my mother that has severe hearing difficulties) she explained how the big board was from left to right with no rush and always a big and beautiful smile, always checking on us, and making sure we had everything we needed, at the same time she was doing the same with every table she had! Before we left she came with 2 ice cream cups for the kids and a bottle of chocolate syrup that made the kids night wonderful!!! my mother gave her a big hug on our way out ( very unusual on her ). For that reason we decided to bring our friends last night but everything was a nightmare. We asked if could be seated with her again and all we got was a dirty look and a rude "she is not here", I do not understand why having a different server has to change the entire visit to the same restaurant..... From the moment we were seated, the service was unwelcoming, our server was rude and seemed irritated by basic questions about the menu that my friend was asking, we had some soups last week when we told Adrienna was our first time and we were expecting the same to be offer to our friends and never happened. This server made the entire meal uncomfortable for sure, to the point we didn't even want to ask her for more sauces, my soup was never delivered and my sides were wrong... our server came to the table when we were almost done but she for sure she had time to play back and ford with the manager and other servers. When my husband finally asked her to speak with a manager to address the situation, no one came to check on us or offer any support. The bartender also appeared overwhelmed an unsure of what they were doing but sure she had time to check her phone all the time, it seemed like the manager was only helping her.. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's unfortunate because the atmosphere has potential, but poor service and lack of management presence completely overshadowed the experience.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I hope the restaurant takes feedback seriously and works on improving staff training and costumer service read more

Meh, I was super excited to try it. I loved the fresh oysters! I loved the gumbo! The Mexican shrimp cocktail was cool to see prepared, it was enhanced tableside and had a tequila shot added with fresh avocado but it wasn't an authentic delicious Mexican flavor, it was very sweet. Not great. Okay. I did the grouper tacos and again okay, not great, see pic how the corn is barely cooked, almost raw. I just had brunch there on 8.24.25 with a friend, the service was spot on and the bloody Mary's were great too. This is one of my favorite local spots! The drinks, the food and the service are all excellent!!! We frequent this spot and when our friends and family visit from out of town, we always bring them here. The soups are very delicious. Even a New Englander approved of the clam chowder. The crab Mac n cheese bites are the truth! I always love the monthly specials so much. They are exceptional, but I am sometimes torn between it and the grouper tacos which also never disappoint. What a amazing seafood restaurant with reasonable price & generous portions!! We dined here with my parents & brother. We had the fried calamari & hush puppies as the appetizer, and BOTH items were fresh & TASTY! After yummy apps, I opted for the TX Red fish special w/ crawfish tails, green beans, and mashed potato. My husband has the Caribbean red snapper, my brother had the Baja fish tacos, and my son had the fish sticks with a side of Mac and cheese. Everything tasted phenomenal. We enjoyed our first Anaya's experience last summer in Richardson & were excited to find out they were opening in Plano. Reservations were for a Wednesday dinner for the hubby's birthday. The server agreed that it was surprisingly not busy but recommended reservations since it usually is. Our server also recommended the special - stuffed flounder. When the flounder came out, I forgot it was flounder & thought it was chicken at first, it looked quite hefty. The fish was cooked just right & ordering the sauce on the side made a difference in not drowning the fish. I ordered the shrimp & grits; the shrimp was overcooked but the grits had flavor. For dessert, we were spoiled by a big hefty slice of chocolate cake & it was very moist & surprisingly, not too sweet or rich. We were so full when we left. Visited this restaurant on a weekday afternoon. I was greeted very warmly by staff. Being this was my first visit I was given a free sampler of their soups to try! The chowder & gumbo was my fav! I ordered the chargrilled oysters which I would highly suggest. In addition to the calamari. I also had a mixed drink but I don't recall the name. It was great though and not too sweet just how I like it. If I'm ever in the area again I will return. read more

Came here for dinner tonight and it's awesome!! Our new favorite seafood place here in DFW Service was fantastic. Everyone was very friendly and they passed my water refill test with flying colors Food: everything was nom nom nom good! + Clam chowder: chunky and hearty goodness + Oysters: blue points were on point + Chargrilled oysters: tasty and cheesy + Flounder: good and garlic mash was great + Crawfish: huge!! My husband just got out of the hospital so we have been using DoorDash for all meals lately. We ordered from Anaya's in Plano and the food was outstanding! I wasn't sure how well fish dishes would travel, but it far exceeded my expectations. My daughter had the fried shrimp and said it was perfectly cooked and crispy. I had the parmesan crusted flounder with the recommended mashed potatoes and veggies and it was SO good! The fish was cooked perfectly and that sauce with the crab meat!! Wonderful dish! I thought prices were very reasonable also. As soon as everyone gets healthy, we are eager to come in the restaurant and get the full experience, but for now, we will be ordering from you again! read more

The food was as great as the service and would have been comfortable at any level of dressed up or dressed down. Our first trip to Anaya's was for lunch yesterday. We aren't gourmets, but we have traveled extensively and our taste buds recognize great food. We started with two different soups... Gumbo that stood up to our New Orleans expectations, and Crab Bisque as perfect as anything I've had on the East Coast. Then we split a Stuffed Flounder Special that hit all the right notes - perfectly prepared and served on a bed of garlic mashed potatoes, with steamed spinach, a sprinkle of diced red bell pepper, and a delightfully rich sauce that finished off the dish perfectly. We did have the cab cakes as an appetizer, and while they were very good, they didn't match the perfection of our other treats. Our server was just the right blend of friendly and professional, and handled the entire service with better than some 4 Star establishments. We will be back! Can't wait to try the weekend brunch. As I walked into this fine establishment I was greeted by the one and only infamous Anaya! I was highly impressed by the service. Anaya himself even brought out samples of gumbo to try! Let me tell you that gumbo was delicious. You have to order the hush puppies you will be hushed for a while enjoying these yummy lil treasures. Red trout plate was absolutely amazing. Compliments to the chef! Rumor has it the chef catches the fish fresh daily. Tell your soccer coach, local librarians, and Pilates instructors because this place is a great catch! Anayas is the place to be. You won't be disappointed. If you are disappointed then you probably didn't get the hush puppies! read more

Sound is turned up incredibly loud, drives the concrete floor fishmongers decor and ambiance down to zero with everyone in the place screaming to hear each other. Sad because it was mood music and could have been nice, but at 120dB it might as well have been Metal or headbanger Punk music. Otherwise, if it's a weekend sit outside if it's not too hot. I highly recommend this restaurant. Excellent food, excellent service, a fabulous menu and happy hour drinks. Overall the best seafood restaurant in north Texas. My wife loves their Ruby Trout and I love their fried Shrimp and Catfish. Very generous portions at a reasonable price. First time visiting here on an early Sunday afternoon. We were greeted by the manager who was friendly and welcoming. He asked if it was our first time visiting because they provide samples to they their soups. I thought that was a really nice touch. Our waiters were great and really informative. The crab Mac n cheese- I do not recommend, it's more so Mac and cheese with a sprinkle (literally) of crab. Had it been more crab it would have been awesome. If I do return, I would just get crab cakes. The shrimp po boy I would order again; it was pretty good & I appreciated the fact that it was a good amount of shrimp. Overall it was a good experience and if I do return, I will def get the crab cakes and maybe try one of their pasta dishes. read more

Came here to celebrate on Valentine's and it was not too crowded. They gave us a soup sampler and I only enjoyed one/two soups out of the four, but I thought this was a good touch. Our table was really sticky and dirty which kind of ruined the vibe for me. We got the calamari for the appetizer and it was okay, really greasy, but I enjoyed the sauce that it came with. I also got the Rudy Red Trout with blacked shrimp (2/3 on top) and the fish was just okay, nothing special. The shrimp was FANTASTIC and honestly the star of the dish. My boyfriend got fried shrimps and blacked catfish plate with fries, but they put the fish on top of the fries which made them all greasy and soggy so that was a disappointment. Overall I would only come back here to try the shrimp dishes, but if not for the shrimp then I would probably not return. read more

We love the oysters Rockefeller. Topped with a creamy sauce and cheese and baked to perfection. I tried the tito's bloody mary and I would order it again. The special of Scallops & Shrimps over a bed of coconut rice is a special not to miss. We always enjoy every meal we've tried. The clam chowder was also exceptional today. read more

The humidor was also rather small, and several of the cigars were pricier than I've seen. Where this place takes the cake is the ambiance, service and whiskey selection. My hostess, Mary, was extremely attentive and provided good recommendations on the food and beverages. And regarding the whiskey - their selection was massive. Mary recommended a Texas bourban (Unbendt BiB) that was delicious. It was so good that I brought a bottle back to Chicago. Highly recommend this place for a cigar smoker looking for a good meal + cigar in a quiet/intimate environment.

We tried this restaurant based solely on the Yelp reviews, and we were not disappointed! We had the Rockefeller oysters, Texas Red Snapper, Cobb salad with shrimp, and a side of hush puppies. Everything was delicious! Our drinks, cucumber martini and a house margarita, were well made and did not skimp on the alcoholic portion. Our server was Christian and he was da bomb! Dream Tacos has excellent food, but the portion sizes and cost are far too steep for this area and for being a taco joint. Sadly, I don't think they will last at these ptoces in this location.
