Immediately attacked upon entry for bringing in an empty cup of ice. Also for the his puppies I asked for butter she said it's a margarine and butter combo. Gross. I'd pay more for real butter. She treated us like we have known eachother for years. If we come back I want to sit in her section for sure, she is awesome. I got the seafood boil with crab and lobster + 1 corn + 1 potato with the trifecta and it was exactly what I was looking for. The food did not taste fishy, and I was quite impressed. My partner got the jambalaya and he was also impressed - it was a delicious meal and we were well paid attention to the entire time which I have found is relatively difficult to find nowadays. The only complaint I have is the music - whatever radio y'all had on was not it, I don't listen to pop music at all, but I was informed it's usually 80s-90s music (which would be preferable) listening to pop brings me horrible memories of working in retail! We love the angry crab shack for its fun atmosphere and yummy food. I usually get a seafood boil with lobster and lots of sides. My husband gets it with king crab legs. The last time we went the crab legs had barely any meat in it, so when we're told the server they brought him out a whole new pound of legs. This is my second birthday dinner here at Angry Crab and we still love the place. I decided to try their grilled oysters for an appetizer and they were absolutely delicious with every bite I took. The oysters were super tasty and fresh they had a little crushed red pepper on top of them that gave the flavor a little extra kick and they came with some warm soft baked bread that complimented them well. Our main course was medium spicy snow crab with sausage. The snow crab was boiled and seasoned to perfection considering there's no ocean here in AZ and the sausage was super yummy as well. Since it was my birthday I received a complimentary slice of cheesecake that was out of this world it was so nice and creamy and topped with caramel and Hershey's chocolate syrup our waiter was so polite and courteous I've honestly never had a problem when coming here to eat the staff is great and the food is out of this world. So I recently went to Angry Crab. This is usually my go to when I want seafood. I always get the seafood boil and am usually satisfied with my purchase. I am not sure what occurred this time but on many of my crab legs it appeared the crab legs were over boiled and barely had any crab in them. I was extremely disappointed considering the amount of money that was spent on the purchase. The young lady was extremely nice who gave me my order. The food was so spicy, (I ordered mild, and they were like there's nothing we can do), then a few hours later I started getting sick, then my friend texted me, and asked if I got sick. Sooo I understand businesses taking CoVid quite seriously but upon walking into this location today with masks on, before we were greeted and could figure out what was going on we had a digital scan thermometer shoved in our faces, it was a bit off putting and could have been handled differently. I don't really care if places want to take my temperature (though for a restaurant i find it a bit extreme) but a greeting and asking permission to be in my personal space is preferable then having someone up in my grill before i can figure out what's going on. To start my first visit out that way was a bit much, i didn't see anyone other people be temperature checked while we were there, i also didn't see any clear signs saying what was going to happen besides wear a mask and you can't wait inside. Now moving forward, after we were greeted and seated, Carla was our server and she was excellent, patient and attentive. The food was absolutely amazing plus i got to feel like David Chang from that one episode of Ugly Delicious which is always a bonus. Honestly, came here with the hubby. It's our one year wedding anniversary and we could have gone anywhere, I wanted to go here. What an awesome experience. We ordered the trifecta edamame to start. Oh shoot! Actually we ordered beer to start and sat at the bar like the awesome degenerates we are. Then we ordered while still mowing away on our edamame the "Surf no Turf" order. Seriously waaaaay too much amazing grub, not in a bad way though. We had leftovers, like a whole 'nother two meals. It said "feeds 2-3" I call BS, feeds a freaking Army! Everything was amazing. After a terrifying experience at the Alma School location, I came to this location because we really wanted the Mother's Day special. It was definitely frustrating that no one would answer the phone and that online ordering was down, but something I can forgive given we are living in unprecedented times. This location was better than Alma School in the sense they had social distancing X spots to keep people separated instead of on top of each other. That said, I was very disappointed to see none of the employees were wearing masks. I didn't feel safe. I said this on my review of the Alma School location: I don't want to be that person leaving bad reviews when businesses are struggling during a pandemic. I just want to be heard by businesses and give feedback, and am open to adjusting or removing poor reviews upon response. I also want to support local and not chains, but so far the chains are KILLING the local businesses in safety practices. Here's my feedback: other restaurants are investing in good online ordering systems where you can schedule times. Instead of having everyone order 30 minutes before they want their food and having an influx all at the same time of calls crashing your website and tying up your phone lines, allow for ordering ahead. The social distancing spots are why I gave this a 3 unlike the 1 to Alma School. The no mask on your employees is why I didn't give it a 4 or 5. Because trust me, your food is a 5. I've been a customer for years. But the last thing I want to do is kill my elderly mother that I'm living with from trying to celebrate her picking a bag up from your stores. read more

I have been going here for years. Food has always been good and pretty consistent from my experience. I love their trifecta on the crab boil and the service is typically solid. Getting a table can be a chore at times but the atmosphere is pretty fun as well. I would give 5 stars but have noticed this restaurant needs a good cleaning. A newer location for Angry Crab Shack in the valley but definitely the same vibes and good eats! I visited this spot with four others to celebrate a birthday on a Thursday evening. From the outside it looked busy with people waiting in the lobby but once you went inside everything was very spacious. After. A forty minute wait we were seated and from then on service was good. The orders can get complex and our waitress was very accommodating. My husband and I ordered 2lbs of shrimp (tri-fecta - hot), 1 lb snow crab (tri-fecta hot) and fried catfish with corn bred and Cajun fries. I know, a lot, but most is protein? That's what o have to tell myself to feel less guilty of ordering so much! The shrimp is always a win - win! So juicy, soaks up all the flavor and not a lot of work (like crab or crawfish) for big bite of delish! Don't think, "Crab Shack, I have to order crab," - the shrimp is where it's at! That being said, I still had to order some crab so we ordered the snow crab and it was very easy to open and get meat out but it was quite salty. Not sure if it was the crab or what but it was definitely tasted as if it was soaked in salt. Lastly the catfish was perfect with a great, lite crisp fry. The sides, do not skim on the sides! They compliment every thing so well. The Cajun fries and the corn bred with honey. Sometimes I get more excited for the cornbread. Normally a go to establishment for us and always super busy regardless of day of the week and time. We love meeting friends here and digging right in eating seafood with our hands to the point of feeling uncomfortable. Variety of sauce and spice options to make each"bag" different. You can add extras to each bag of seafood your get and we typically go for the sausage, potatoes, and corn. Expect to use your hands and work for your food. They give you gloves if you prefer. This last visit it was not busy at all- maybe only 8-10 tables sat when we got there. It had been months since we were last here so I was surprised. Hoping it was just a fluke but excited we walked right in and got a table on a weds night at 530. When we left at 7:30 the most crowded I saw the restaurant was only half full. The quality of the mussel and oysters along with some of the sauces definitely declined a bit from what I was used to getting from there. Ordered the pacific rim sauce (has curry in it so definitely wear gloves if you do not want to be smelling like curry when you type your Yelp review the next day) By the time the mussels in pacific rim sauce got to the table it started to harden and was way to thick and gelatinous. The sausage seemed to be cooked and reheated a few times before we got it. Tough leathery outside. This was not our normal adventure and experience here so I can't fault them for one mediocre dinner when we have been there over a dozen of times and love it. Shrimp and snow crab were good no complaints cooked and full of flavor. We went with trifecta and mild spice level. Good beer selection. Their signature mixed drink options all seemed to be on the sweeter end but they have a full bar if you wanted to stick to what you know. Lots of TVs if you want to catch a sporting game. First time at the Guadalupe location, we've been going to Alma School for years. However, have to give credit where credit is due! The hubs and I went for Valentine's Day around 5:30 PM. We expected a very long wait and to our surprise it was about 30 minutes. We were able to wait at the bar and have a couple of cocktails. The place was full for sure. All of the employees were on it!!! we experienced fast and friendly service! Our server was Tammy, and she was excellent! We enjoyed the boil for two and it was worth every penny. Absolutely delicious - we couldn't even finish it all! Not only did we enjoy a fantastic dining experience, I must report that we will definitely visit this location again and again. We actually like it better than the Alma school location... Who knew?? When we left, we asked to see the manager, and then we saw the panic in the eyes of the hostess. We made sure to let her know very quickly that we were about to give very good compliments, not the opposite. A holiday can be a very stressful time for the servers ....Well done everyone!
