We weren't sure what to expect - it's a bit rustic. We were greeted by the nicest couple who run the place. We ended up being the only customers because we were right between breakfast and lunch service, so we had a lovely chat, and also got to talk with the cook while she was cooking! They let us customize our orders. I had their ometillo - a big tortilla with a cheese omelette and added mushrooms and sausage. Accompanied with green salsa and sour cream- yum! They also added a hash brown patty. Perfect! The Hubbs had a combo with pancake, egg and bison burger. Everything was cooked great! In the small town of Swan Valley there are only a couple places to eat. Don't let the rundown look on the outside influence your opinion of this great eatery . Thank goodness this place is here. They are known for their Mc Angus breakfast sandwich. We ate breakfast here every day while on our 5 day fishing trip. The owner , who also serves and cooks , is a gem. She is so nice and friendly. We saw her out and about in town and she remembered us, wishing us safe travels home. Small towns are so nice. We basically had bacon, eggs, and coffee every day. Very good. There is inside and outside dining. There is a small section in the front of the restaurant that sells homemade goods. In the back there are stacks of books to read . I love the little mini library idea. Great service and great stop while you are passing through or if you live here. read more

Stopped in on the way to the falls and grabbed another fast friendly breakfast that was delicious.

We've driven past this place a million times and finally decided to stop. GREAT CHOICE! Only open 7-2 for breakfast and lunch. Husband had their "meat, meat, meat" burrito and it was huge! One of the best breakfast burritos he's had. Only thing he said it could use was a little bit of sour cream. I ordered off the children's/seniors menu and had the pancake, bacon, & egg. Again super tasty! In fact, the egg was the best over-medium cooked egg I've had in a loooooonnnnnggg time. Highly recommend! read more

Came here for breakfast on the way into Idaho Falls, and I was pleasantly surprised of the quality and taste of the food. The building doesn't look like much from the outside, but the food and feeling of the small town cafe make up for it. I got pancakes, eggs, and hash browns , and it was delicious. We were on our way back from the Palisades trailhead hike, and dropped by this diner! We were hungry for burgers and this hit the spot. We got the Dorothy burger and the Bacon burger and both were juicy and tasty. The fries are SO yummy, and I ended up taking my leftover fries to-go because I was so full. Stopped in for breakfast, staff/owner in flannel PJ pants was very rude and so were the locals. Apparently if you happen to have been born in California your are not tolerated and even hated. There words not ours. We had the chili verde grossness in plastic wear and styrofoam cups and the locals were served on regular plates and silverware. Well...there are about two options in "town." This is the breakfast place. It works. Looks like it hasn't been updated in 30 years and waitresses act like they've been there just as long. Food is about what you'd expect from a greasy spoon in a tiny town. It is kind of difficult to mess up eggs and pancakes. If you want breakfast, this is the place to go. Had breakfast here. The food was just plain bad. I'm not sure how old the sausage was but just not good. I took a look at other reviews after we stopped and was horrified to read that they have told people wearing masks that they cannot be seated and served and must wait outside. This is a violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). There are many reasons that a person may choose or *have* to wear a mask. By treating people with a disability differently, that's discrimination owners of this sh!t hole, you are violating a federal law. I would highly recommend that anyone who is denied normal service because of their need to wear a mask video tape the conversation and report it to the department of justice. We were looking for some lunch while motoring around. Since Swan Valley Outpost was closed (maybe because it was Monday(???), we chose Angus because yelp divulged 4 STARS!! A grilled chicken salad was plentiful, very fresh, delicious, vanilla milkshake likewise, but, the Club Sandwich, like I used to see in the good o'le days. Fresh, fresh fresh....this is real food. Great roadside diner near Swan Valley. I had the French Dip (they call it a Beef Dip, but I don't give into all the Franco-hating, freedom-fries BS). It came with potato salad or fries. I'm not really sure where are the five stars are coming from. It is acceptable mediocre diner food at best. Service was fine, burger was typical frozen patty. This is a down home country diner. The locals eat here and, I'm told, the owners are very active in the community. The food was good and the service was friendly and prompt. It's nothing fancy and big-city foodies probably won't like it but I found it charming. I ate here 3 times while I was in the area. I tried their only competitor one time and that was a mistake. 4 stars for the food because, hey listen, it is solid, quality grub across the board and this is a classic, ol' school diner that knows exactly what kind of restaurant it is and doesn't try to be anything different. That 5th star is for the beautiful mountain view and overall atmosphere and the fact that the staff that work here, know every local by name that comes through the door, yet treat non-locals just as warmly when they come in from a long road trip to take a rest and get fed. Were visiting friends in Irwin Id. and drove by this place and finally decided to try it. Don't remember what my wife had but I remember she was pleased. First time I had ham and eggs, it was a giant piece of ham, not real thick but still there was a lot of it and it was good. The biscuits and gravy were as good as the ham. Second time I had the pancake combo with bacon crisp and it was . The cakes were top notch.
