In its heyday, Anna Miller's was open 24 hours a day. Trudy, my housemate and UH law student, and I would drive out from Kaimuki to PearlRidge at night and eat breakfast. On the way, we would play Name That Tune on the radio. The radio would be on a specific station but the volume would be turned off and then the volume would be turned up and then down in half a second. It was amazing how many songs we could recognize from that snippet of audio. I tried it the other day and I no longer have the ability of audio recognition. Maybe it's old age but I believe it's because now music all sounds the same to me ... rap, pap, sap. Well, Trudy graduated from law school, became a lawyer for a local firm, moved back to Kauai to practice, became a judge, and retired. I haven't seen her for a long time. I am still working and apparently slowly losing my hearing or rather my listening skills. Anyway, my property manager and I went out to Aiea the other morning so naturally we ate lunch at Anna Miller's. It's a busy as ever, with a very loud speaker announcing when your table is ready. The bathrooms are clean, and there is a mix of local and military patrons enjoying the food. I didn't order my typical omelet, patty melt, or tuna melt, but instead ordered the #5 club sandwich. I should have ordered the patty melt but I wasn't ready to eat a heavy cheesy greasy burger. And when I say greasy, I mean it in a good way. The #5 club was a BLT with turkey and avocado. The turkey was jelled fowl deli-style (not a favorite) with ample bacon and avocado. Cole slaw was adequate but not bright in your mouth like at Popeye's. The real star of a late spring meal at Anna Miller's is the fresh strawberry pie. You can also buy whole pies at the front counter where their pies entice hungry patrons before their meals. I was trying to will my property manager to order dessert so I could too, but I guess my Jedi powers have faded away into the past. They say dementia is directly related to hearing loss, so that is what the future holds. So no fresh strawberry pie was in my present that day. But you need to try it. I command you. read more

This place used to be a staple but after Covid something must've happened cause this place fell off worse than 2015 Peyton manning who couldn't feel his arm when he threw... My folks and I went here after not going for 7 years and figured it would be a good excuse to get out of the weather after a day of errands. Unfortu on top of it being damn near 4x smaller than it used to be portion wise but all of us left sick and with the runs. We all ordered separate things like the blueberry pancakes, cheeseburger etc and all was bland and without the "homely" vibe and stuff it used to have which made it so famous. Anna Millers, somethings just don't change. We decided to come here for breakfast and I just left young again. Interior was the same, the pies, the service, the coffee & the food. Something as simple as breakfast I still love to come here for. They are no longer open 24/7 but still nice to come here in the morning. I see that they were still busy as usual so we did have to wait a little bit. I can honestly say we had the quickest service. We got our waters and drinks right away, our server took our order right away and our food came not to long after. I got the fried rice special with over easy eggs & Bacon. We came here on the weekend for brunch. Anna Miller's is located in Pearl City above Bravo's and nearby Pearlridge. Our party of six got seated fairly quickly (less than 10 min wait) during the lunch rush. They close early at 3PM everyday but open around 7 or 8 depending on the day. Inside there are many tables/booths but it does feel a little tight especially during busy hours. We ordered the special fried rice loco moco, two egg plate with ham, French toast, bacon omelette plate, soup of the day (corn chowder) and came with corn bread, side of apples and cinnamon, and side order papaya and grilled cornbread (not pictured). The fried rice loco moco was OK - the gravy tastes homemade and saved the dish itself; the fried rice didn't have that much flavor but had generous chunks of sausage. The two eggs with ham was classic, slice of ham was thick and eggs over medium with shoyu was ono. French toast was good but the powdered sugar wasn't sifted well so it was chunky all over the toast which was weird. Bacon omelette was a big portion (3 eggs) and they give lots of meat to fill it. The corn chowder was flavorful but took longer than everything else to come out - we didn't mind too much because it was piping hot and fresh. The cornbread is okay....its very grainy and not very sweet. It's better with butter and some honey or something. Service is usually hit or miss. We had Jo-Ann as our server and you could tell she was getting very overwhelmed. She was nice but again, overwhelmed. What was a little annoying was that we would ask her for something, she'd forget about it, then come back and ask if we needed anything else; she did this twice. I think all of Oahu loves Anna Miller's. There's always a wait, which is a good sign of that love and willingness to wait for their food. I don't know how long they've had the same menu and specials but the husband gets the fried rice omelet every time we go and promptly splits it in half to save for his next day's breakfast. The rest of the family will order different items from the menu. This last time, I got a French Toast Combo. It filled me up well into the late afternoon. We also went on Pi Day and they were selling slices of select pie for 3.14 each. I got the lemon meringue because the table in my line of sight got one. It looked good. It was good. Not too sweet and just the right amount of tart. Never had one before. It's always busy and kind of loud. But the service is always so efficient. My coffee never got to the bottom of the cup. Every time someone suggests this location I secretly cringe inside. I have eaten at Anna Miller's multiple times and each time a progresses to get worse and worse. Each and every time that I eat here I get acid reflux. The food is extremely oily or what they're using in the food isn't quite good for the body. On July 12, 2025, my husband and I came to Anna Miller's. This was his choosing. I decided to go along with it. I ordered a omelette with a few different meats and vegetables. And he ordered the big breakfast. I ordered a bowl of corn chowder and cornbread. The cornbread was awful. It tasted as if it was previously frozen and then warmed up in a microwave. My omelette came out with oil on the bottom of the plate that's soaked into my right. The blueberry pancake came out white. It did not look like pancakes. But what completely turned my stomach is when the kitchen doors flew open. What I seen in the kitchen did not look sanitary. There was a bag of chicken that was hanging over a pot. And a silver pot with raw meat in it. The waffle maker was extremely dirty. I feel bad for those who ate waffles. As I peered deeper into the kitchen the floors seemed unsanitary. After that I could not eat and I lost my appetite. I had took several photos of what the kitchen looked like and the raw meat that was left out. I do not recommend this location for breakfast or lunch. And also is this restaurant turned into a family restaurant? Because there are only Filipinos working there. You don't see any other ethnicity working there. I find this interesting. Also if there was flies in the restaurant when we were there then there must have been flies in the kitchen. This adorable restaurant has been around since the 80's and there's a reason it's survived so long. We arrived mid morning on a Saturday and expected a wait. We were told 20 minutes and that was accurate. It was busy and the server came by promptly and asked us if it was ok to take our drink order and she promised to be back shortly. I honestly don't mind waiting if we're at least acknowledged. We ordered and our food was brought pretty soon. This was the breakfast we had been craving. Eggs cooked perfectly, toast buttered generously, meats sautéed to perfection, and pancakes done just right. Since Anna's is known for the pie, we each ordered a slice to bring home. Several restaurants I been to lately have been empty. It's the economy. But you wouldn't be able to tell from the line at Anna Millers this past Sunday. There was a constant stream of people leaving so I assumed we would have to wait for long even though we were told it would be a 20 minute wait. It actually turned out to be 15. The wait staff really work for their money. As soon as tables left, they were bussed. I made good use of my wait time, I read the menu so I could order right away. Not only the wait staff but I guess the cooks must also have had to bust ass. Food came out relatively fast. What I did notice was some shrinkflation. My mahi sandwich came with fries. There used to be more. And the salmon Benedict had more salmon before. But considering the cost of food, I guess it is to be ecpected. read more

My wife's No.5 Clubhouse was delish! I ended up getting something small and basic - the Portuguese Bean Soup w/ Cornbread. I feel like the soup has more of a watery consistency now, and it had a strong taste of celery, unlike before. The service can be hit or miss, but our last time there we had the sweetest Auntie. She was so kind and attentive to us and our son. We all chose to go with breakfast even though it was lunch time. Recently out near Pearl Ridge to meet up with family at Anna Millers, such a long time since we were last here and just as busy as I remember it. After a bit if a wait we got seated, didn't look like much had changed at the location or on the menu with a few new items, and decided to go for the chicken pot pie with side salad and grilled cornbread. Service was friendly and very cheerful, the tables food arrived hot with everyone getting their food at the same time. The Chicken Pot Pie was good would have been even better with a little more chicken inside, at first I thought the sauce was a little too watery, but the flaky crust soon soaked this up. Salad was a reasonable size with an excellent Thousand Island Dressing, seemed like it was made in-house and not the regular store type dressings. Of course you can't go the Anna Millers without getting slices of the wonderful dessert pies, a good selection of the different pies were available by the slice and I went for the Haupia Strawberry, although the Apple or Banana Pie always tempts me. I'm sure due to trying to keep costs down the pie selection is a little more limited that it used to be. As you would expect at such a busy location it can get quite load inside, but I never found it excessive or annoying. If you don't mind waiting at peak times, this restaurant is just as good now as when it opened in 1973, the food was good, staff excellent and checked to see if coffee or water needed topping up regularly. I have to make sure I get over to eat here a little more often. read more

This place has changed over the years. We used to love the all night hours and a ton of pie options. They now are open from 7am-3pm instead of being open really late at night. And instead of having a lot of pie choices, they have about 6. It's just not the same as it used to be. The service was fast as most of the food is basically pre-cooked and they just throw the meal together. The shrimp Louis salad was good and a decent portion. The ceasar salad was large and a good price as well. They also have a kids menu that is not shown online, but we were happy they had. I just don't think we will be back as the pie selection is so small now and a big reason we used to frequent this place was the large selection of sliced pies and it used to be open late. read more
