Special Occasion Cake buyers Beware: On 3/26/22 I ordered a Bridal Shower cake to be picked up on 4/2/22 @ 10:30am. I spent about 40 mins in the bakery going through all the details and placed the order. On 4/1/2022 I tried several times to call the bakery to RECONFIRM THE ORDER & PICK UP TIME, however, Annandale bakery does not pick up the phone & their recording advises you to call back during regular business hours? On 4/2/22 I arrived at 10:25am to pick up my cake only to be told the cake was not ready. I asked how much longer the wait would be? Annandale bakery said they would deliver the cake to the event at 12pm and wanted me to pay before leaving. I advised that when they delivered the cake, they would get paid. I became suspicious that my order was never put in. The cake arrived on time. However, one of the specifications in the order was not met; the sponge cake was to be pink. The sponge cake was yellow not pink which only confirmed my original suspicion that they never even baked a fresh cake. On 4/3 I called Annadale bakery so I could speak to the owner, only to be frustrated with the same voice message. Eventually someone picked up the phone put me on hold & never came back. I hung up the phone & drove to the bakery & asked to speak to the owner and was told no one was on site. To cut to the chase after explaining what transpired, showing my receipt to prove the cake specifications were not met leading me to believe the order was never placed. I asked the salesclerk how you think customers feel that no one answers the phone to confirm or maybe even change the order, her response was we are busy, and we take care of instore customers first! I then asked her is it customary to answer the phone & leave a customer on hold? The salesclerk had little answers and finally said "let me go in the back to speak to my boss" I said to her "you just told me no one was on site" The salesclerk came back and advised me that there was miscommunication on the order date? How I asked? Well, the baker misread the word April, he thought the L in April was a 1 and thought the pickup date was the 12th! No way does this look like a 12 on the receipt I said & you should have called me to confirm the date if you were unsure of the numbers! Had you answered the phone this would have never happened. In closing I asked the sales clerk why her boss didn't come out to speak to me? I guess he couldn't look me in the eye with that story and made you do his dirty work" The salesclerk responded" My boss is disabled he has no legs he can't come out to the front! With that I took my receipt and said tell your boss he just lost a family and extended family of customers, I will never shop there again read more

This bakery is fabulous! Affordable, accommodating and taste amazing. I ordered a special made heart shaped rose covered cake for my mothers birthday and it came out stunning from Annadale Bakery. I didn't even want to cut it open it was so beautiful. To no surprise it tasted just as good as it looked. I went to other bakeries on Staten Island (Sals bakery) and showed them what I wanted they were not as accommodating on the esthetic of the cake and the price was outrageous for being just mediocre tasting. I was so pleasantly surprised with Annadales prices, friendlines, and taste. Thank you!!! read more

Really scrumptious rainbow crumb cake as was the red velvet cake. Moist and fresh The young lady who helped me answered so many of my questions. I needed to know the cost of most items because prices are not displayed. She was polite and very courteous. A definite revisit for the rainbow cake. Next time a black and white cake too. I got a really beautiful cake over the weekend from them. However the cake was absolutely disgusting. The red velvet was rock solid, the pearls could chip teeth. The cake was so not moist it was so embarrassing to have all my friends eat it at dinner for my friends birthday. I was humiliated they all thought the same thing. Tried a little bit of everything. Italian rainbow cookies were good, nothing special for the island. Lobster tail was nice and crunchy, but not enough filling. Donuts were ok- I've only had 1 other peanut butter and jelly donut at Enzo and Tino's, and this was WAY better. I got a loaf of bread, which had a nice looking crust, but when you cut into it the loaf the crust was not thick enough and the bread was too soft. I had an oatmeal raisin cookie when I was paying that was not chewy enough for my liking, but tasted good. The brownie though- spectacular. That's really the only thing I would recommend everyone try when they go here. Overall, I'd be happy if I was local but no need to drive out of your way to get here unless you need your mind blown by some brownies. read more

I ordered an unicorn cake for my daughter's birthday. They said I can emailed them the picture of the cake that I like and they will try the best to make the cake as similar as the photo. The baker Ariel took my order very seriously and really impressed me. She made it even better than I expected. I love this cake so much and it's even more beautiful than my wedding cake. I ordered a naked cake for my daughters 1st birthday photos. I asked for fondant writing and rosettes. I was disappointed in the quality of lettering, and they added colors I didn't want added to my picture. So it was a waste-I didn't even use the cake. Also, it didn't taste great. I'm pretty disappointed. I have gotten a nice looking cake from them previously, but again didn't taste so great. read more

My daughter in law bought 10 valentine cupcakes for her sons birthday and they were horrible!!! Hard as bricks! Icing was hard also. We all took 1 bite and spit it out!! If a kid won't it you know it's bad!! Called them and the girl said they were made on Sunday , yesterday was Tuesday! You can't tell me any different .....HORRIBLE!!! I'm very happy with this bakery. I live within walking distance and I just bought an amazing blackout cake, if you love chocolate, its delicious. Employees were very nice and friendly and they wrote on the cake too. My daughter wants this for her birthday. Awhile back I purchased a carrot cake which was awesome, not fake like alot of other carrot cakes but you could tell someone took care in making it fresh and real homemade for my birthday. I love everything about this bakery. Not only are their goods tasty...always fresh... and delicious...but their staff is fantastic too! Some of the sweetest girls/women i have come across in a business. My son has sensory processing disorder..and i could not get him to wear a mask. Rosy... was kind enough to offer to stay with my son outside so i can get what i needed. Not only was she gentle and kind, she gave him a treat anyway for trying. We need more of this! I live right down the block from this bakery and it's my absolute favorite . Usually when I order the girls who pick up the phone are so sweet and accommodating. Unfortunately I just tried placing an order for my parents for their anniversary tomorrow . When I called a young man picked up the phone , I asked if they had chocolate covered strawberries I was I was told "no we don't" I then proceeded to ask if they had Any chocolate covered fruit at all and again "no we don't " now I know they have donuts because last week I ordered two dozen and so I asked how about donuts since I wasn't even being helped with any other suggestions.. he replied with "yeah we don't have those either". I understand if they can't fulfill an order a day before but I would at least appreciated some type of explanation if it was a delivery issue or if they were out of desserts or anything !? I would have also appreciated any alternate options.. it's almost as if he just didn't feel like placing an order or want my business at all. I will continue to order from here but I suggest some of your employees practice their customer service etiquette. read more

Tonight, I celebrated a birthday of a young lady I'm quite fond of- you could say we are famiglia- the night out of the (old) town of Staten Island was perfection, but what really took the cake (delicious pun intended) was the custom-made cake. It was chocolate on chocolate on chocolate and then BOOM blackout! Now, princess of Annadale doubted the presence of blackout, but let me tell you- the blackout was beautifully layered into the decadent chocolate layers- Best blackout I've ever had.... and I like to throw back a sambuca or two- do me a favor, get your ass to Annadale- say hi to Antoinette for me, she's a doll! read more

We were visiting friends and decided at the last minute to pick up something from this bakery. We are from central New Jersey and have terrible bakeries by us so I was very surprised when I walked in and saw An amazing selection of cakes pies and pastries. It was right after Christmas and they had a ton of prepackaged cookies available, a ton of different types of cheesecakes and an array of pies. It was very overwhelming to try and decide what to bring because everything looks so good so I asked my bf if he could pick something out since I couldn't make the decision. He chose the Oreo cheesecake which would've been the last thing I chose. After visiting with our friends and having an amazing home-cooked meal she brought out the Oreo cheesecake and we all had a try. I am not a huge cheesecake lover and this Oreo cheesecake definitely changed my mind. I am looking forward to going back and trying some of their other fantastic selections. Always loved Annandale bakery after today never again. I ordered my daughters birthday cake which was supposed to be vanilla cake with cannoli cream on top with black out cake on bottom. We just had this cake at another party a week ago and loved it so much, so I ordered the same one and we were looking forward to it. What i got was a plain vanilla cake with cannoli and chocolate pudding. Called the bakery this morning to let them know of their mistake, the girl who answered the phone was very nice. But what happened next was completely unacceptable . The girl who apparently took the order was so nasty basically calling me a liar, and said Gary would be nastier to me. Owner ? I know all this because the phone was not on hold and they were yelling in the back round. I wasn't calling for any reason but to let them know about our disappointment and to be treated this way is not good business at all. If you can't be nice to the customers you won't be getting my business or anybody i know ever again. A simple apology would have been nice. read more
