Staff was rushy, started closing the restaurant with 4 tables left, felt rushed. Server only stopped by the table once outside of bringing the food. My girlfriend's eggplant Parmesan wasn't even mediocre at best, very rubbery and grey, overall wasn't great.

Had Anna's Pizza again for the first time in about 8 years. The pizza is still really good! The buffalo chicken pizza is a fave of ours. The service was pretty good and the staff were friendly. It looks like a classic pizza shop. It was a little after the lunch rush so still needed to be cleaned up a bit (tables and floors). My main critique would be the limited single slice options during lunch time. We came for the Buffalo chicken pizza but there was one slice and they weren't making more. We split that one they had and I got the meat lovers as my other slice. If you have time, a full pie would let you get what you want. Overall a good experience.

Really enjoyed Anna's Pizzeria. Right on the Apex strip, this small pizzeria has all your favorite Italian dishes, salads, and wines. Further, Anna's perfectly reflects their price point and wants to provide you with a reasonable dinner option on the (often overpriced) main street. The calzone is a solid choice. We ordered our calzone with "double pepp", the house cab, slice, and a caprese salad. We enjoyed sitting at the bar near the front window, watching sports, and chatting with the staff. Service was friendly and offered suggestions as certain items were 86'ed.

Comfy corner pizzeria in Apex won't disappoint! Upon entering, I was greeted warmly by Jimmy, the manager. He served me, too. On this visit, I ordered a calzone and modified it into a panzarotti. #iykyk Pergect cook, no burnt spots on bottom, nicely filled, melted and cheesy, and sooo tasty. Side salad was really nice with the house dressing. The place was kinda empty as I was there around 3. Unsure about lunchtime. Clean and inviting with friendly staff.

Anna's is a staple of Apex! The food is delicious, service is wonderful, and the overall ambiance is amazing!

My first time here, came after the lunch rush so plenty of seats. All tables, no booths here. Nice atmosphere, all of the tables were clean and cleaned quickly when guests leave. They have a few lunch specials but we opted for menu items. Service was very good, attentive and food came out quickly and hot! We got a meatball sandwich and lasagna. Lots of good cheese on both dishes. Both were very good and reasonably priced. For dessert we shared a cannoli that was very good and had a beautiful presentation. So glad I tried this nice place. I will return!

We decided to try this pizzeria on the corner of downtown due to always seeing such a long line when we pass by. It's a pretty standard mom and pop pizza joint that echoes sentiments of NY style. Similar to many facilities in apex, this restaurant boasts of being situated in the peak of good living. There were no clean tables when we entered and we were asked to sit at a dirty table while the waiter cleaned it as we sat. He seemed to be the only wait staff in the joint so he had his work cut out for him. The food was decent. My gluten free friend appreciated their GF crust option. The panini was more of a sandwich but still it was good. The panini didn't come with any sides or a salad so that is a little disappointing for the price. We waited a while to be given a menu or drink and even longer for the food and even longer for the check. But again there was only one man waiting tables. Would I recommend this place? Yea it wouldn't be bad if you're looking to stop in somewhere for a slice of pizza. However, be aware you may be waiting for a while.

Best calzone in North Carolina, hands down. Cheese for days! The pizza and the garlic knots were also fantastic. Laid back staff who know what they're doing, a refreshing treat.

Probably the worst pizza we've had. The pizza was so soggy and as you can see in the pics, the paper was stuck to the base. All veggies were raw and uncooked. Every bite was unappetizing. Don't recommend pizza from this place. In addition to the horrible pizza, their garlic "bread" is basically a subway bun cut into quarters with garlic powder or some herbs sprinkled on it. We didn't taste the garlic and the bread was dry. Chicken wings were average. It was also dry, when typically wings should be juicy. We looked forward to trying this place as we heard great reviews, but unfortunately our experience was bad. :(

Of course, I could drive to local grocery store and get a frozen one and bake it at home.....but I was quite hungry! It took longer getting directions between a Nav and phone sync. Surprisingly, Mezza Luna is actually conveniently located in a short trip! I arrived in person and walked to the counter. I was greeted promptly and the guy was answering 2 phones and taking orders and gave me options based on time and wait for pizza. He did not realize that I was looking for gluten free and got a gentleman to help me. My apologies, as I was a bit overwhelmed and didn't catch his name and how long he said it would be. Regardless, I am a patient person and waited. The gentleman brought the pizza box and handed it to me. The inside restaurant has positioned seating to utilize the space very well. As the clock approaches 5 o'clock, the regular patrons come in and the guy at the counter acknowledges each person even by name. Back to my gluten free pizza.... I did say "thank you, smells amazing " hoping they heard me as this was my first visit. Fortunately, I have self-control and didn't peek until I got home. The plan was to eat half, then reheat other half to determine......besides smelling and seeing the fresh ingredients...no need to add any seasoning! Please don't judge...but I finished it myself! It was quite tasty. Ambiance 4 stars, quaint feels like good gathering spot Customer service 5 stars keep it up Quality 5 stars Quantity 4 stars no leftovers Prices 4 stars for regular (3 stars for gluten free) no deduction Overall 4.5 stars and try again to see if rating is a solid 5. Honestly, I was surprised being able to finish it and how delicious as gluten free is not always easy to make. I forgot to ask about the meatballs..are they only beef? If so, if I call or stop in a day or so in advance, could you consider making 4 meatballs no gluten maybe using cheese instead to taste? I saw hand cut fries...might need to give that a try. ;) No worries about the gluten and sans pork for me too, sorry. If you have a gluten free baguette that would pair well for me or I can pick one up! Thanks....you may see me again soon! Update with pics: disappointed overcooked both crust and cheese!

I knew it was a local fine dining restaurant, but just making reservations was an interesting experience. (Call and leave a message, there's no open table. There's a form to fill out. What?" As soon a we arrived we realized a reservation wasn't necessary as we were the only guests there for 30 minutes or so. My wife and I ordered: Glass of Wine, Ravioli, a Roman Pizza, a side of green beans, and a desert of tiramisu. The food was quick as we were the only ones there for a while as other guests came in. But as other recent reviews indicate, the menu options are pretty small, but the pricing and ambiance doesn't meld. I expected more redesign of the dining area that was used by the former restaurant; but that wasn't the case. It was a bit small dining room. I'll go back for an appetizer or glass of wine due a gift, but the pricing is too high for the food and the portion size that you get.

We booked an outdoor igloo for what was supposed to be a special night out with friends, and…read moreinstead got a cold, confusing, overpriced dinner that honestly felt like a parody of a "premium experience." First -- the ordering rules were never explained. Four adults sat down and each ordered an entrée, only to be told that apparently we were only supposed to share one entrée and one pasta for the entire table. How exactly are four people -- especially with dietary restrictions -- supposed to eat that? It made no sense, and the confusion led to us ordering extra just so everyone could actually eat. The igloo itself was freezing. There was one tiny heater doing its best, but only the person sitting directly in front of it was comfortable (YAY ME!). The rest of our party spent the night cold and distracted instead of enjoying dinner. It would get a little warm and then a server would unzip the dang igloo and leave the flap open and we were back to freaking COLD. Food timing was chaotic -- two meals came out, and the other two arrived about 20 minutes later. One guest who is lactose intolerant was hungry while waiting and asked for more bread, only to be told no. That's not hospitality -- that's just frustrating. Like... you can't bring the cold hungry man some bread? I'll PAY for the tiny pieces of crust but good Lord, just poor hospitality. Then the bill arrived: about $437 when we expected closer to $330, largely because of the unclear ordering situation. They SHOULD have 1. explained the "deal" better 2. automatically taken something off of the bill due to the additional meals being 20 full minutes behind the other people at the table. 3. Brought bread when asked ffs. They did take one of the "additional" meals off, so to be fair... when pushed... they did fight back, make a bit of a scene and ultimately took some off the tab. It was never about the $$ by the way... but paying over $400 for a sub par meal in Holly Springs in a cold igloo will be a good story I suppose. And the biggest disappointment of all -- the food simply wasn't good. At all. For the price and the hype, the quality just wasn't there. The lasagna was bad. Risotto pretty good honestly but not great. We are easygoing people who go out often, tip well, and genuinely want to support local restaurants. But this felt disorganized, uncomfortable, and not worth the risk -- especially when we've since heard similar feedback from friends. It's a shame, because the concept could be fun with better communication, warmer setups, and much better food. Unfortunately, we won't be back. We left colder than when we arrived and not happy with the food at all. Just no... go elsewhere.

For my main, I had the Penne Sardi (penne pasta with chicken, wild mushrooms, and caramelized onions in tomato cream sauce; topped with oregano & garlic breadcrumbs and baked to finish). This was heavy and reminded of something you'd get at an Olive Garden. The portions are huge and basically everyone had leftovers for the next day. One weird thing to note - when ordering, the waitress asked if we wanted a soup or salad. This made it seem like the entrees came with a soup or salad but really, she was asking if we wanted to add this on. It was just a matter of miscommunication, but it would have been nice if they were more clear on it. I'm not sure what the Italian restaurant scene looks like in this area (since I was just visiting), but I felt like this was chain restaurant quality at almost NYC prices. Not sure if it's worth checking out.
