We visited this location two days ago and ordered the Lobster and Brie Omelette and the Crab Cake Benedict along with two waters. We tried this location after seeing good reviews Google. We were seated quickly with good service. The restaurant appeared clean and casual. After receiving our orders, we were immediately displeased by the lack of flavor and off texture of the hollandaise on both of our dishes. The eggs were well cooked and the potatoes were cold. After two bites, I added hot sauce to make the dish more palatable. The hot sauce, one that I am familiar with, tasted off. I informed our waitress about my displease with the dish and despite my husband's, he decided to continue eating as we're were famished. I ordered French toast as a replacement. The French toast was brought out nicely plated. After trying it, I found it to also be incredibly bland. The waitress then informed us that staff tried the hot sauce and had no concerns before condescendingly told me that if I put something I do not like on my food it will taste like that..... I will reiterate that the hot sauce was not the only issue with this meal. These are all dishes I am very familiar with both making and eating out so I am well aware of how they should taste and look. At this point we just wanted to leave after an awful meal and not so kind staff experience. We paid and left. Will definitely not be returning to this location. The house medium roast coffee was relentlessly strong no matter how much creamer went in the mug and not as flavorful as expressos. The potatoes were unremarkable. Atmosphere was okay. It was time to check out of the hotel and begin the trek to DFW for my flight later in the day. Stopped by the hotel front desk and asked if there were any good breakfast places nearby and she shrugged and said iHop wasn't too far. No way did I want ihop and so I whipped out my phone and opened the Yelp app and searched for breakfast places. The first one at the top of the list was Another Broken Egg and it literally was so close to the hotel you could not only see the front door from the hotel but easily walk there as it was just walking through a parking lot. To say I am beyond thankful I did not go to ihop is an understatement. We (coworker and I) were greeted at the door by such welcoming staff. We both had our travel luggage with us and nobody batted an eye at it. There was plenty of space to navigate and sit at the table with our luggage easily. Our server was Kirsten and she was delightful with answering our questions and helping us narrow down what to order from the menu because there were so many amazing options it was difficult. It was a pleasant surprise to see they have boozy breakfast drinks on the menu. We did not order any of them but there were a lot of interesting offerings. My coworker ordered the cookie dough waffle with scrambled eggs and a side of bacon. When the food came they accidentally gave her sausage and quickly brought out the bacon and allowed her to keep the sausage. The cookie dough waffle reminded her of the frozen snack/bite size cookie dough pieces mixed in with the dough and cooked and then some sprinkled on top as well. She said it was very good and she is going to try to recreate it once she is home as there is not one near her house. The sausage is unique to this establishment as it has a special blend of seasonings mixed in with it. Neither of us cared for it because it reminded us of a burger patty (it was pork sausage) as for texture and flavor and not a breakfast sausage. Now if they added them to biscuits and called them breakfast sliders I could see myself enjoying them with like some gravy even...hmmmm gravy... Focus, must focus. Our server brought us an order of the biscuit beignets with honey orange sauce complimentary and that was when I think I fell in love with this meal. They were good but then once the sauce was added they were heavenly. I chose to not even eat my breakfast potatoes so I could enjoy the biscuit beignets instead. I ordered the hash brown Benedict and it was superb. I would get it again. This was exactly how we needed to start off a travel day full of delays and how to say goodbye to the area until next time, because there will be a next time and I will make sure to stop in here again when it happens. read more

we came here on a Friday around noon. Wasn't crowded so we got seated pretty quickly. The Menu has sooooo Many delicious looking options it was hard to narrow down what I wanted haha. I started if with a Bloody mary of course and it was good. we also got an order of the Beignets, I saw on a previous review not to order them...But they were So good! warm and tasty and the sauce that comes with it to dip...yummm! I got the Lobster Benedict , it's one of my favorite things to order. it was definitely tasty and the egg was cooked perfectly. the only thing Was the Bread was a little tough around the edges but other then that it was great. First of all! Service is phenomenal here! From the moment you enter and sit. Our waitress always checked on us, making sure we are enjoying our meal and refilling our drinks. I really enjoyed my time here. I ordered their Monterey Power Omelet. To be honest it was just okay. As I only tasted the sauce on top of my omelet (guajillo sauce). The texture of my egg was also not as fluffy and soft. Maybe I should have tried something else as my friend really enjoyed her omelet. Another Broken Egg is one of my go-to places for brunch, I try something new each time. On this go-round I got the smoked salmon benedict with country potatoes. I will say that the salmon was very smoky, maybe a bit overpowering. I'm not sure if I would get it again but I'm glad that I gave it a try. The potatoes were decent, nothing too spectacular. I tried to eat at the bar with my family and was asked about my age (no worries, I understand, it's a bar.) but I take issue with the fact that the waitress asked my mother rather than myself. I'm 18 years old, not twelve. I'm also not mute. just ask. Also, said waitress misgendered me (it's alright, I'm pretty androgynous-looking, it's not the end of the world.) We have been here a few times before as my husband loves the shrimp and grits but this visit was a real treat. Our server was Bracus, and he made us feel like we were having a fine dining experience. Starting off with fresh fruit he prepared in our water along with fresh roses on the table. He was so kind and such a pleasure to talk to, making sure he knew our names and making every moment a special experience. Came here around 10am to eat breakfast with my sister on a Wednesday. We were immediately seated and attended. I can't remember the name of our waitress, but she was new and very friendly. She did a great job at answering all our questions and making suggestions on what to order. I'm not really a fan of drinking alcohol with my food especially so early in the day, but my sister and the waitress convinced me to try one of the spike iced coffee drinks. I ordered the spiked vanilla cold brew and my sister ordered the caramel cold brew. I wasn't really a fan of the vanilla cold brew. You could taste the alcohol, but it just wasn't sweet enough for my personal preference. For food, I ordered the Irish coffee pancakes with a side of bacon and over hard eggs. All the orders of pancakes came with 2 eggs cooked how you want and your choice of either bacon or sausage. The pancakes are cold brew chocolate chip coffee pancakes topped with spiked Irish whipped cream. I love chocolate chip pancakes and these satisfied my sweet tooth without being overwhelmingly sweet. I'm also not really a fan of whip cream, but this whip cream was good. The bacon was also good. The only thing I didn't like were the eggs. They tasted kind of weird and they didn't have any seasoning. However, I didn't eat the eggs until the next day so maybe that's why they tasted weird. Overall I loved this place and I think it might even become one of my go to breakfast places. The service was great, food was good, and it is very affordable if you don't get alcoholic beverages. My one complaint is that they don't have hash browns. The do have a side of potatoes which are good, but I'm just more of a hash brown girl. read more

I was looking for places to have a joint birthday brunch on Yelp a couple weeks back and found the ABEC in Dallas; however, last Saturday, when we were scheduled to go, the hostess at the other establishment said that it would be a one hour to one and a half hour wait for a party of our size, so since the Colony location was only a 15 minute drive away we decided to go there instead. Loved the experience despite the hiccup at the beginning! We ended up waiting about 20 minutes to get seated for a party of ten, which gave everyone enough time to arrive. Jeric was a great server and extremely attentive toward all our needs. I had a coupon for a free order of the biscuit beignets and he was nice enough to bring out two orders of them, enough for the entire table to try. The menu is extensive and there are a lot of items that I would love to come back and sample in the future, but I loved what a friend and I shared: the crab cake benedict with a side of City grits (with smoked gouda, bacon, scallions and tomatoes) and a pancake flight with the bananas foster pancake, the sweet potato pancake, and the lemon ricotta pancake, with a side of extra crispy bacon and two eggs overeasy. The food all came out hot and delicious. The biscuit beignets were crunchy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, and I loved the marmalade that came with them. The crab cake benedict was delicious and the grits were smooth and creamy. My favorite of the pancake trio was the lemon ricotta, because it had a really nice tang while also being a lovely level of sweet, and the crispy bacon and eggs overeasy were cooked perfectly as well. The only sad part was that I'd also ordered freshly squeezed orange juice that never came out, but everything else was so good that I didn't mind. This was my first time at this location and it was my husband's first time ever trying their food. After early voting, we decided to eat breakfast. Jesus was our waiter and he did a great job refilling our coffee and making sure we were enjoying our meal. I wanted to try something new so I decided to get the Shrimp and Grits. I love shrimp and when I read the description, I knew I had to try it. When my dish arrived, I was very disappointed but I didn't complain I just ate my food. They no longer use gulf shrimp, my shrimp were very small but this could be a supply and demand issue. My dish was ok but the grits had no flavor. I think the grits should have had butter and salt. You definitely need to dip your grits in the sauce. I won't be getting that dish again. Before our meal arrived, we ate the beignets. They were delicious. My husband ordered Bananas Foster Pancakes with eggs and bacon. I added the homemade sausage and andouille sausage so my husband could finally taste what I have been raving about for the past year. He loved his pancakes and eggs but wasn't crazy about the sausage. I tried a few bites of his sausage and it had a strong sage taste. The location in Houston has the opposite taste and I couldn't get enough of the sausage. I don't know why it's so different at this location.
