We typically are not impressed with the contractors sent out by the warranty company but have been extremely pleased with the service provided by Anthem. He carefully reviewed every aspect of my unit and reviewed his work with me. He gave me a few recommendations to keep my unit up to par. And what they did repair, they installed wrong. Just a heads up: Anthem will not answer your call, will not return your call, and will not return your email. They just plain do not care. I would give them 0 stars if possible. Freddy Jimenez told me that my wheel and blower needed to be replaced because the wheel was warped. He also said the coil was dirty and need to be cleaned. He said the warranty may not pay for the cleaning. He then told the warranty that my wheel was warped because it was dirty and it's not from normal usage. He LIED!! I've had my unit serviced every year since I've been here 7 years. If that was the case why didn't the first technician Anthony Gutierrez say the same thing. Anthem sent out another tech four days ago. He said the wheel was warped and he adjusted it. It was still making a helicopter sound but he said it's fine and to call the warranty company back. That was wrong of him! They just want more money. if the warranty company don't pay you enough then why sign up. Freddy said it would cost about $500 something. I said no way am I paying that! Their office person is very rude, Raquel was her name. Alex is supposed to call me but now I've just decided to get a second opinion and use another company! STAY AWAY FROM ANTHEM After speaking with Mike he said the dirty coil would not cause the wheel to warp. Well why did you tell AHS that??? I would never use this company again. I was referred through my home warranty companty to Anthem. The delays and claims that they never rec'd the authorization for repairs from the warranty company were numerous. I have lost over $4000 in rental fees on my property. A woman who answers the phone by the name of Ginni acts as a firewall and will NOT let you speak to their authorization department. They are claiming that they need $750 to clean the condensor and fan which they are replacing ??? If you get referred to them from your warranty company, good luck. If you call them as a retail client, be careful !!!! read more

I was always nervous of who the first american warranty will dispatched on my Hvac seasonal tune up. They send Anthem Mechanical Inc this time, my husband and I meet the technician name Freddie. A very polite guy, respectful of the property and knows what he is doing. He explain everything what he is doing and answers all our questions. We found out it much cheaper to go with this company to do our yearly maintenance than in our home warranty because we got two furnace in the house. We decided will just sign up with them on our yearly maintence on our Hvac and put my mind at ease and I know who is showing up at the house to do the work. I see a lot of poor reviews from other American Home Shield clients. If your with AHS and your request for service should be assigned to this company. Immediately contact AHS and have them move your request to another vendor. Our realtor and the local sales manager got involved after there was no contact in 48 hours from the service request and several calls to them and AHS who also called them. AHS has a 24 hour turnaround time for contact for service requests. This company never replied to our request filed on a Monday evening at 9 pm until 2 pm on Thursday for a non-functioning air conditioner In 110 degree heat in the desert. Our service request was taken care of by another vendor with American Home Shield and we are very pleased. When Anthem finally called on Thursday I was told they were very busy. Well maybe reviews like this may make them better able to service the clients from American Home Shield and they won't be so busy. YIKES! read more

They've been our service provider for hvac maintenance and repair. All there technicians are knowledgeable and professionals. Anthem mechanical normally send technician for installation, heating, and cooling systems. They just send Angel to service mu unit fir winter and another technician for summer maintenance. anthem Mechanical was sent out to my house through my warranty company AHS to install a wall furnace. Well when they came to install it the 2 guys took 5 hours to incorrectly install it. The heater kept shutting off after 5 min. So anthem claimed I needed new flu pipes installed that would be a modification fee for me to pay of $825. So called AHS to get 2nd opinion. Low and behold when the new people came out to check he saw the heater was not even connected to the vent pipe which could cause carbon monoxide to leake into my home killing my kids and me. Terrible terrible. This is gonna be reported. The new heating company and I both took pics. The guy was completely appalled that they would be putting people in danger by not even connecting the heater properly. Now the heater WORKS SAFE. I wouldn't trust Anthem at all. Anthem came out to our home 3 times (same tech each time) and our AC is still broken. The first trip, he fixed the safety switch. We had told him that there was a lot of water coming out of the line which is why the switch tripped in the first place. He didn't see water so he didn't check the lines which were clogged. The ac came back on so he was done for the day. 4 hours later, the ac broke again. Then re-scheduled for Friday. He blew out the secondary line but not the primary line. He didn't check all of the lines like we had asked him to do the first time. Because it was Friday, the ac turned back on once the line was clear and he was out of there by 4:45. By 6 PM the ac stopped working. This was Friday so we had to leave the house for the weekend as it was too hot to stay there. On the third trip, the following Tuesday, he spent under 30-45 minutes. They have 3 hours for each call but he was always in and out quickly. He re-routed the main condensation line into the secondary line so there was a ton of water coming out. I called when he left and they said it was normal. The main condensation line was never checked in the first places and it was clogged. This should have been looked at on trip one. Instead, he re-routed all of the water to the secondary line and then it broke again. I am not shocked anymore. No one ever took responsibility except the receptionist Estella. She was awesome. No one in the company in service or any manger was involved. I thought that this problem deserved some attention but they just kept sending the same guy. In the end, 3 times out to the house on 7/23, 7/23 and 7/29 and the issue was never resolved. read more

We have been more than disappointed and completely dissatisfied with Anthem services, lack of accountability regarding installation & repair errors done on the business' behalf, & their horrible customer service. We wanted to make other people aware of our negative experience with Anthem so that hopefully others won't have to go through what we went through. We hope to help alert and protect anyone from going through the same negative experience we have with Anthem. Hopefully others won't have to go through what we went through regarding this company's negligence and incompetence as a business and complete lack of customer service. We used Anthem to install new HVAC multi-split unit systems into our 6-unit rental property in 2019. We began having issues within the first 30 days of installation and from the beginning Anthem constantly deflected the blame of these issues and took no responsibility to the possibility of these issues being a result to the installation and the services provided by Anthem. With these initial issues, Anthem placed blame on faulty units due to dirty filters, construction dust due to renovations, & lack of maintenance...which is incorrect given no one was living in the units and no renovation had begun (thus no construction dust). This was the beginning of our experience with Anthem & their complete lack of accountability & responsibility to correct any installation issues done on Anthem's end. We had service calls regarding these "brand new" HVAC units monthly starting within that very first month of installation with Anthem never fully fixing the problems. It seemed as though Anthem dragged us along until the service warranty was up & then we repeatedly paid them to fix these units that were less than 1-2 years old. We even requested they send out a Samsung representative to see if this was a product issue instead of an installation/service issue. We were told by Anthem that this was done, but they never provided us with any proof that this happened or any follow-up report and still has not to this day. After dealing with all of these AC issues for 3 years, we decided to contact Samsung directly and they referred us to a different HVAC company to provide a full inspection of all of these units (Paul's Air Conditioning & Heating, Inc.). This inspection report informed us of poor quality in the installation aesthetics that should have been done by Anthem upon installation. Actual installation was poorly done with no quality control. When we went to the owner of Anthem once again regarding this full report and the issues found, the owner Mike deflected all of the blame elsewhere once again and chose not to resolve this in any way. We have been trying to resolve this with Anthem directly for the past 3 years ever since they were installed in April 2019. We are now using an entirely different HVAC company (Paul's Air Conditioning & Heating, Inc,.) to deal with all of these issues & to address these problems & finally fix the units & bring them up to code. Which we could not get done with Anthem, no matter how hard we tried. Paul's Air Conditioning & Heating Inc., who is Samsung approved/referred...which Anthem is not. Paul's is very professional, knowledgeable regarding the products they service, and have wonderful communication skills. We have already had a completely different experience and feel we are in good hands & our units are being properly taken care of. We were very much hoping to resolve these issues with Anthem & gave them several opportunities to do so, but unfortunately they chose not to in any way & furthermore showed no wish to provide customer service or customer satisfaction. We hope no one else goes through what we had to when we spent as much as we did for brand new HVAC units. ISSUES FOUND IN RECENT FULL INSPECTION (6/2021) - No covers over the refrigeration line sets in almost all apartments. (Anthem's answer to us on this was that this was an "add-on/extra service"). - Most condensation pumps under each unit have been installed with large gaps between the unit and the pump. - High voltage & communication wires on roof not run in a conduit to protect the wires from harsh sun and other elements. All city and state codes require high voltage electrical wires to be ran in approved electrical conduit to protect these wires. (Anthem's answer to us on this was that this was an "add-on/extra service"). - Specialty mini split surge protectors were not installed on these units (to block power surges and avoid system faults, resets, & burnt-out circuit boards) - Informed condenser motor fans should not be facing into the wind & if they are, wind buffers should be installed. No wind baffles/buffers were installed (though stated to do so in Samsung installation manual). read more

This company is a nightmare! They did an incorrect diagnosis of my air conditioner and ordered parts thinking they could repair it. They jerked me around for two months trying to repair it. Trying to get them out was like pulling teeth, they schedule an appointment and don't show up. Finally I ordered a new air conditioner and scheduled appointments for them to install and they never showed up. The customer service is the worse and their repairmen don't know what their doing. So I gave them 5 stars in the past but this time one of my AC units was not coming on, so once again my home warranty sent them out. The young guy that came out didn't seem to know what he was doing. He was here for hours saying what it was like my thermostat needed to be replaced and then he said my wiring was bad. I explained that they were the last company to service them and no one else has touched it. Our units were put in around 2015. So he leaves and says they will request to do the work from my home warranty. The next day I get a notification from my home warranty saying it was denied. I called the home warranty and they said Anthem Mechanical wrote on the report that someone had messed with my wiring from my units!!! WHAT!!!! My home warranty tells me to reach out to them and ask why they wrote it up like that. Everyone knows that has a home warranty if anything is messed with it gets denied. So within the hour after I got my denial email I also get a email from Anthem Mechanical with a quote for repair of over $900 for wiring...... to me extremely fishy. So I try calling Anthem Mechanical for over a week. Explaining to the customer service female I need to speak to a manager or even the owner and I explained why. After 4 calls I NEVER received a response at all. Hired my own HVAC guy and come to find out it was a fuse. WTH. I contacted my home warranty and told them everything again. That is horrible customer service and business practices. Just beware of this company doing this to you. read more

Our AC broke and it was 106 outside. We called American home shield who contracts out to Anthem and they scheduled to come 2 days later - which sucks because we have to deal with the heat but we get it, there are other customers too. Anyway, someone from the company called us to let us know the technician was 15-30 minutes out and he showed up on time and fixed our AC in no time. Turns out our capacitor broke so he fixed it in 15 minutes. The technician was friendly and even explained everything to my husband. Would recommend! read more

This is the worst AC company ever. Don't let Anthem people touch your AC. Its repair man can't even tell upstairs unit to downstairs. It disconnected the unit that was working just fine and didn't even look at the unit that did not work. Repair guy came our 3 times, but still not fixed. Now repair guy is claiming There is no problem with AC. I even had a electrician check. AC is not working still. The worst ever. Absolutely worst business ever. our AC shut down and American Home Shield sent Anthem's tech guy over to diagnose the situation. We were told a bunch of parts need to be replaced, and we were billed for it. a week or so go by and a repair team came, then they say there is something wrong with the electric, and left. An electrician came over and assess the situation. He says there is nothing wrong with it. So, another appointment of repair was made. A repair guy from Anthem came over only with one part (instead of a bunch that were listed in the invoice). And repeats "something wrong with the electric". He maintains it needs to be diagnosed (yet again). When we asked him why he didn't come with the entire items listed in the invoice, his response "i don't know. that's the only thing I was given". I guess we paid for all the extra parts that weren't needed? Or the guy came to fix our AC unprepared? this is over a course of 3 weeks, and our AC is still not working. In the end, nothing was done. We had an air-conditioning unit installed over the summer. It started leaking from my ceiling immediately it took the service techs three times to come out and resolve the issue each time the air conditioner leaked. We just tried to turn the heater on for the first time this season and the heater isn't working. When I called customer service someone named Lily answered the phone and she was so incredibly rude. She told me I wouldn't be able to have an appointment for almost a week without heat. After I complained about the wait time for repair she told me it was my fault for not scheduling a quality control appointment which I knew nothing about. She wouldn't let me speak. I asked to speak to someone else. She refused. And then she hung up on me. When I called back she refused to give me the name of her boss or anyone else that I could speak with about my issue. Overall my experience with this company has been poor. I would never recommend Anthem Mechanical to anyone who needs ac/heating services. read more
