    Cinnamon roll with cream cheese
    Thaybeth M.

My friend had been on the hunt for the best cinnamon rolls in the city and this spot kept coming up in the recommendations. When she saw that they were having a pop up near us, we decided to check it out and it didn't disappoint. We preordered online to secure a cinnamon roll, since they are very popular. When we arrived at the location it was packed and the line was outside the shop. We waited around 10minutes in line, which I think isn't bad considering the length of the line (probably like 15 folks before us). They had part of the staff moving around and asking folks if they wanted any drinks to facilitate the process once you got to the cashier. I preordered the cinnamon roll with cream cheese. It was delicious! It had a very generous amount of cream cheese. The actual roll was very soft and packed with cinnamon flavor, which paired perfectly with the cream cheese. Overall, would 100% revisit the shop. The had other interesting items in the menu (like breakfast sandwiches), which I would be down to try next time!

I've heard so many good things about this pop-up bakery and their cinnamon rolls, so when I got a notification that they were having a drop with Konbini, I immediately signed up. We got there early for our pick up time and there was a line out the door. Everyone was very excited so the air was buzzing with conversation, and we just kept seeing people walk out with huge takeout boxes for the pop-up. We still had to wait in the line to pick up our orders because the cinnamon rolls and egg sandwiches were not prepackaged, but someone was asking people in line to see if they wanted and drinks like their cold brew or orange spritzes, which I thought was sweet and considerate. We waited for 10 minutes. I got the Coffee Cinnamon Roll. It was so large with a generous dollop of Coffee Cream Cheese Icing! The bun install was very fluffy with beautiful swirls of cinnamon and sugar, and it got richer and richer as I made my way to the center of the roll. I couldn't finish this all at once because of the sweetness but it was hard not to keep indulging in such perfect, fluffy bites. This might be the best cinnamon roll in the city, so definitely snatch one if you can when a drop happens!

CINNAMON. ROLL. Not your dry, mass-produced Cinnabon. Small batch, right in your backyard. I will say HotPlate (the reservation system) has somewhat gamified the reservation and shopping experience which makes landing an order at this bakery quite the thrill. I was lucky enough to snag one for a pickup on a Saturday morning at Four Barrel Coffee in the Mission. To my delight, the line moved quickly due to their reservation system previously mentioned. It was only a couple of minutes before my order was ready and my coffee order placed. The roll is HUGE. I would defnitely advise splitting this massive delicious treat. Fluffy in all the right places; crispy, crunchy at the bottom. Tangy cream cheese frosting to balance out all the sweetness. Excited to try the hot cross buns the next time I'm able to catch an order!

Small but mighty team working the pop up today outside of Bernal Cutlery. There was one line for both pre-order and walk-ups, but the line moved pretty fast. I got the black sesame cinnamon roll, salted caramel banana scone, and tamago sando (though got an email that the milk bread dough didn't turn out so was refunded night before). Even though there wasn't a sando, they offered a replacement, free of change! Hence the burnt orange crostata. Everything had amazing flavor - especially the subtle banana flavor in the scone and the sugared orange zest on the crostata. The cinnamon roll was the perfect soft pillowy lightness. Def recommend signing up for the pop up notifs!

Cinnamon roll. That's it in a nutshell. Really? I read about this vendor while shopping at a food consolidating company and decided to give it a try. I read a little about the company's and the owner's background and ordered a sampler along with various other food from different sellers (four on one particular weekend). With my menu already filled with other options, I knew that this order would become two morning breakfasts. I first tried the chocolate cinnamon roll (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=i57IfJIgWJTIaXq2iLxtUQ&userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q) almost a week later; it was a bit on the drier side given my tardiness. Following the provided heating instructions (https://discoverpastel.notion.site/All-Cinnamon-Rolls-Choc olate-Coffee-6a704f5103834d728acd29f11712ef18), the roll softened and was more airy while I used a spoon to mixing the frosting with each bite of the roll. A couple days later, I tried the cinnamon roll with coffee frosting (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=NjWR2YxshFXRgLd-s-VT_g&userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q). I enjoyed this a little more as the coffee frosting contrasted the roll better making it less sweet. The rolls are large and proved to be a filling breakfasts on two mornings. Again, do eat them sooner than later so that it is not on the dry side. This was a nice treat in bunching several items from various food vendors on one particular Saturday. I recommend this for cinnamon roll fans.

Hands down the best cinnamon rolls I've had. It may be a little hard to pre-order these before they sell out and track down what venue they'll be doing pickups at, but it's so worth it! I think I've ordered 4 times now, and gotten them at Excelsior Coffee before it was all pre-orders. I had been searching for a really good cinnamon roll at random places across the bay area and was always left underwhelmed until I came across this place on Instagram. I love the whole wheat flour dough. It's really great, and keeps a nice moisture content while still remaining fluffy and a perfect carrier for the cinnamon sugar mix. I also love that these don't eat that sweet. The cinnamon layer is not crazy sweet with sugar, and the frosting is cream cheese, not a pure icing like some other cinnamon rolls. I've tried the chocolate and coffee frostings as well, and while those are great too, I think I prefer the original to pair with the cinnamon flavor the most. I hope there's a more permanent arrangement to get these soon!

If you need a coffee treat to with your coffee, give this a try! First of all, these cinnamon rolls are HUGE- one might almost be the size of my palm? They are thick and fluffy with a caramelized bottom. The coffee frosting was an interesting touch. Ideally the combo sounds apealing but it did not work for me; I might have loved it more if it was a regular cinnamon roll. I think there is potential for them to grow if they try adding different flavors in the future. Overall it wasn't my favorite but worth a try, especially if you like coffee flavor!

Loved my experience at one of their pop ups! I heard about it from a raving customer and had to check it out. I could tell how fresh the cinnamon rolls and frosting were, especially for being at a pop up location.

Read about this place in the Chronicle. Ordered online and picked it up. I recommend warming in the microwave for about 30 seconds. Tastes really good with the coffee flavored frosting!

I arrived shortly after 10:00 AM and was 4th in line with people continuing to get in line behind me. A staff member would signal for the next customer to come in when she was done with the previous customer. I asked for 2 plain croissants and a chocolate almond croissant. The croissants were placed in individual bags and then a medium sized bag with a handle. The bag had an Arsicault Bakery sticker. The croissants smelled wonderful on my 40 minutes walk back. The croissants were soft and flaky on the outside and the preserve found its way into the layered pockets of the croissant. The croissants were well worth the walk.

I've gone a few times around 10-11 AM and gotten through the line pretty quickly, plus they've never been sold out of anything. Another plus of this location is its proximity to Golden Gate Park; when the weather is nice it's great to pick up pastries from here, find a grassy area in the park to put down a blanket, and have a mini picnic. My favorite thing to get here is the chocolate almond croissant, especially since it's fairly unique and not too many other bakeries do it. Everything is perfect from the almond filling, the flaky croissant, the crunchy baked almond filling on top, and the melted chocolate. It's pretty heavy and dense though, even when hungry I can only get through half of it. It's still good later on (even after a day or two) but nothing beats it fresh. I also like to get the plain croissant and their kouign amann. The kouign amann has the same buttery, flaky layers as the croissant and has this caramelized sugar coating that I love. Don't love their chocolate chip cookie - too much chocolate and not enough cookie. But everything else I've tried from their is so worth the drive over, line, and prices.

The preorder box came with randomized drops of what's in season that week, our small box came with Herby Olive Twist, Coffee Caramel Pain Au Chocolat, Strawberry Rhubarb Cruffin, Lamb Pain Suisse. The pastries: they really got their lamination down. The pastry shell is amazingly crispy and really good layers regardless of the type of toppings or fillings it has. The flavor combinations were fun and familiar. It's like getting some of your favorite foods being converted into a croissant. Of the ones we tried I really enjoyed the salty ones like the olive twist and lamb, I was impressed how well the pastry kept crispy even with the sauces. The sweet ones like the caramel were too sweet for me to even finish, but that can be personal preference. After trying all these fun flavors I still think the highlight is def the pastry, will need to try the original croissant next time! Ambiance: the vibe of the bakery was great, lots of hard working ladies and feels like they are passionate about what they do. Bright and airy with lots of pink accents.
