Great location and atmosphere, I've always had a great experience. I've read reviews and feedback from management and I see that you pride yourself on high standards. Yesterday evening I had dinner with 2 friends, I ordered the ceaser salad with no bacon. When served it had bacon, the server commented that it was the kitchens fault. Not a few minutes later she brings back the salad, I guess someone picked the bacon off of the plate as unfortunately one piece of bacon was missed. I could have done that myself, I guess I was expecting a new salad. Am I wrong? We also ordered calamari, it wasn't good, no one ate it. We pretty much left it minus a couple of pieces that we each tried. One would think, the server would inquire if something was off with the dish. It was cold and heavily fried. Our food and appetizers came at the same time. Overall not the dinner I was hoping for. read more

This used to be my favorite restaurant in Bellingham. We would enjoy happy hour frequently, and it was our go-to restaurant for special occasions and to entertain guests from out of town. No more. I understand cost-cutting, but the happy hour menu has been cut significantly. Happy hour crab and artichoke dip is gone. As is lemon drop martini. The drinks we had were watery, and not very good. Not to mention cup of soup (dinner menu) for $13.50, which contained a large piece of corn pudding as filler. At 5:20, not many customers. They have successfully cut their costs, but the restaurant has lost its verve. Clearly, Bellingham is voting with its feet. read more

Always a fan of Anthony's! Came to this location and it did not disappoint! Had the crab cakes for dinner and they were perfect! The sweet glaze they came with is so good, and they were full of crab meat not filler which I appreciate and not fishy at all. The crab stuffed mushrooms appetizer however was a little watery?? Best way to put it. Wouldn't get that again. However everything else was great. the salmon poke appetizer was great, and same with the shrimp and blue cheese salad! That salad is always a must get!! We also got the mussels and they were cooked in this lemon butter wine sauce that went great with the bread! Overall a great meal. The service was great too and we were a table for 7! Hearthfire is one of our go to spots to bring out of town guests for a nice meal that everyone can enjoy. I can't believe I haven't reviewed it before (?) but on this visit, everything was very good but not above and beyond so not five stars. We made a reservation and were seated at a very nice window table. The food was very, very good..and yes this is a chain! I had the mahi mahi tacos, also at the table were the blackened halibut, the macaroni and cheese and the burger. The macaroni and cheese looked great but the person who ordered said it was just "good". Everything else was better than expected. I had a mini chocolate mousse with Oreo crumbles for dessert..also at the table was the mini peach cobbler which our friends said was "canned"...despite, they ate every drop and said it was good. Probably the biggest reason for not giving the 5th star was the service. It was adequate to good. Really nothing remarkable..maybe it's covid and the masks? I don't know.. but overall, this restaurant is my favorite of the marina restaurants! I fully expect to be able To upgrade to 5 stars after my next visit. read more

We were looking for a nice place to take our dad for dinner, somewhere with a view. This was perfect! Incredible view of sunset with an amazing dinner! We all enjoyed our dishes and everything came out hot & seasoned well. Also their focaccia bread started was so good! We had seconds on bread and then were too full to order dessert. We haven't eaten there in a while; it was just wonderful! We both had the mango/baby shrimp, etc. salad, which was delicious. BUT, the best of all was our server, Jacob. He is as all servers should be, but (sadly) aren't. He was the perfect combination of friendly (but not familiar), attentive, (but not hanging around); with the gift of perfect timing........bread? Date night here was a 10/10! We sat in the bar to watch a game and then were seated. Loved the fresh bread and both of our entrees as well as the speedy service. The staff was excellent about wearing masks and reminding customers to do the same. Dishes seemed about 50% cheaper than any Anthony's in the Seattle area! read more

For what we paid and experienced, this restaurant will NEVER get my business again. My partner and I came here on a Tuesday night for a birthday dinner because we thought it would be a great experience with fine dining since it is seen as a high end restaurant. It ended up being the exact opposite with POOR FOOD and TREATMENT, and this has been ALL 3 of my 3 experiences with this chain restaurant Anthony's in Bellingham, both Anthony's Hearthfire Grill and the Anthony's Seafood restaurant just a few doors down.. We ordered the clam chowder and while my partner was eating it, he found a GIANT CHUNK OF PAPER in his soup larger then a quarter. So we sat there waiting patiently for the waitress to stop by our table again, as I didn't want to interrupt her work flow. The waitress never ended up checking back on us until our main entrees were complete. When we told the waitress about the paper in the soup, we got a blank, dead in the eye stare like she didn't understand why we were telling her. I had to tell her AGAIN, before I could get an initial response from her. The waitress decided to say what seemed unsympathetically to me, "OH, THATS AWKWARD" as she grabbed the dishes we had on the table and walked away not saying or offering anything else, yes.. very AWKWARD. I decided to be patient and think maybe she'll give us some sort of discount for the disgusting, poor service we received when she gets us the bill. It NEVER CAME, we got the bill and we were charged full price.. included in the bill was the $15 Clam Chowder appetizer that we ordered with PAPER IN IT.. unbelievable. There was a women at the table behind us who I overheard her get in another poor experience conversation, this seems to be a regular thing for this restaurant and they dont seem to really care. I ended up still tipping the waitress at the end of the meal, cause I want to support our food handlers as much as I can, but this awful experience really made me want to leave them dry, like the blank unsympathetic stare and response I got when I told her there was paper in my food. I dont think this is just a poor staffing situation, it seems to run up the ladder as well. There was a manager who I saw walking the floor, he walked by after I had told the waitress about the paper in the soup, but said nothing to our table. I also noticed he never checked on any of the other tables experiences, he just walked the floor on his tablet... Unbelievable. Stay away from this restaurant, the food also seems to not really be made fresh, the mashed potatoes seemed on the cold side with a clear hardening happening on the outside. read more

The manager must be suffering from a brain injury or something? I went in for Father's Day with my son and grandma really looking forward to a nice meal. When I received my steak and shrimp my first bite was of The prawns, dry chewy and so salty I couldn't even choke it down with my lemon water! After that I was nauseated... When The manager showed up at my table he barely asked me what was wrong he just accuse me of eating it all without even looking at the table! So I picked up my plate full of chewed up and spit out food and showed it to him cuz he obviously needs glasses.. that apparently offended him? He told me I needed to leave!? I complied leaving my family at the table on Father's Day. Insult to injury on the way out the bus boy felt like chiming in and calling me a mother f*****. My friend & I treated ourselves to lunch here. They graciously put my drink choice over ice instead of 'up'...which was the Limoncello Ginger Drop which was delicious. I had the Rockfish Taco with cup of Clam Chowder. Chowder is better here than at that 'other place'! Taco was tasty with with a filling like Cole slaw. The fish was slightly bland. Fantastic salsa. My friend had the dip which she said was delicious.The bread & butter here is also better than 'that other' place. Also shared the Huckleberry Cheesecake which was AWESOME! read more

This restaurant overlooks the harbor and it is a classy, neat, quiet and thoroughly pleasant place to eat. We popped in for lunch and sat inside by large picture windows so we could watch the boats moving through the marina. The service is very good and our servers were all efficient and friendly. We ordered local beers and a couple of plates filled with salad and calamari. The beers were cold and the food was hot, freshly prepared and delicious. I fully recommend this wonderful restaurant. Anthony's We came in on a Friday night and the table seated 10 minutes after us received ordered drinks before our server even stopped by. It took 20 min after seating to order wine. The rest of the evening was not anymore impressive. M was simply eating clam chowder and I heard an extremely loud crunch that sounded like a rock being dropped onto a ceramic plate. M immediately pulled out a huge, sharp chunk of clam shell (or maybe a rock??) and told our server. The server looked emotionless and then looked frustrated but only took the food away with an offer to bring another dish. This doesn't quite meet the appropriate level of concern or compensation one would typically see for the level of damage and potential issues a hard shell/rock could cause: a cracked and chipped tooth, a child/adult choking, digestive issue, etc. FOOD: 2/5 Presentation of our dishes were sloppy and flavors were decent- not amazing. The Cajun Alaskan dish was well made with pineapple salsa but the scallops were incomplete. For the dinner scallops, we received a disproportionate seasonal vegetables side option: 7 micro button mushrooms and 6 chunks of zucchini piled on top of 3 small green beans. Funny to see how stingy the portion was in comparison to the amount of seafood, not even passable for a balanced meal. I shouldn't be able to count my vegetables. VIEW: 5/5 Large open windows gave a great view of the water, and the window tables are always the best. AMBIENCE: 2/5 Low lighting and normal restaurant noise levels make this place a good option for date night or adult groups. Due to Covid, most restaurantS have been using QR code menus or one-customer-use disposable paper menus. The wine menu looks like it was pulled out of the recycle/trash and attempted to be smoothed out again (instead of crisp new paper), the furniture is still old where the chairs have butt imprints, and it still smells like old Anthony's Seafood carpet. SERVICE: 1/5 Our server took 20 min to take our drinks order and didn't make any effort to accommodate us for her slow service or the kitchen's negligence. The manager came out to ask us if we want another food item or what we'd like him to do for us. I've not experienced a restaurant being so casual about something so serious. OVERALL: 1/5 Just disappointed in Anthony's food proportions and side dish options, failure to respond appropriately to their negligence as well as the staff's lack of empathy and timely service. Needless to say, this is a typical Anthony's experience at this point. I've dined at the Seattle, Kirkland and now this location. Sadly, I've not had a good experience at any of these chain restaurant locations so this must obviously be the standard for Anthony's Seafood company. Most disappointing and shocking were that nobody made any effort to compensate any parts of our dinner bill, even bring anything complimentary or possibly a gift card hoping we'd return in the future for another chance. I hate to be harsh but we give restaurants the opportunity to stay in business but also to rectify their mistakes. Minor incidents can be written off with compassion for the business but negligence, such as causing and choosing to overlook potential health risks and hazards, are unacceptable. Three times is enough to decide Anthony's does not practice basic food code safety measures, food allergy/restrictions training or cultivate decent customer service/empathy, let alone problem-solving skills. read more

Very good food and sizes of appetizer and entrée and dessert. Only thing I might add is that the salad has no dressing on it, and my croutons were stale when I had it. Service was very good for this type of restaurant and we didn't have to wait between courses except the main course and desert, which was a nice thing. Ambience is always nice there as you can get a good view of the marina and definitely helps coming at a time when the kids are less likely. As per the last comment, we went right in the time that we were able to get the early bird special so that might be a good time to go. read more

Have been to this restaurant maybe 10 times total when visiting my family in Bham. Usually it's much more solid but we had a negative overall experience last night (on a Thursday). Had a reservation, got there on time and waited a while to get seated. Once seated, not greeted by a server or helper for 15 minutes. Ordered drinks and dinner together. Server said bread was ordered and would be out shortly. It didn't come. She came back and said it was delivered to wrong table and she would order again. Drinks came. Gave one of us a beaten up can of cider - no glass. (Literally this can had been dropped multiple times and was mostly smashed.). Had to ask for a glass. One of us ordered a burger medium rare (Kobe burger) and it came with no pink at all. I ordered their thick cut pork chop which came burnt. A little char might have been planned but there were significant pieces charcoal that were completely inedible. Places and silverware were dirty, service was friendly but poor. General Manager was on duty but besides topping water once never asked us how we were doing or we would have shared. Overall very disappointing. Is this due to post covid staffing?! read more

I eat at the bar here at least 2 times a month and typically order a glass of Cab and the Tenderloin Filet that comes with some mashed potatoes and a seasonal veggie. The staff is friendly and attentive, the Jack Cab by Saviah Cellars is full-bodied and, even though it never makes any Bellingham favorite steakhouse lists, it is hands-down my favorite steak in the county. Oh, and the view of the marina and islands "ain't" bad either. Try it. P.S. We grabbed a drink in the bar prior to our dinner reservation. We enjoyed a window dining room seat, the drinks were wonderful, and the surf & turf on special was delicious. This is more of a "I need a drink and might as well have a sandwich" spot for me. The BLT is a good option when I am not too hungry, but need something. I always add the avocado for the BLAT experience. I appreciate that they offer Caesars as an alternative to Bloody Marys. They're less coying and bit snappier. Great view of the bay and marina at the bar if you find the optimal seat. Last thought from a former server: Even if the bar has only one client, please don't complain about being at work in front of customers. It is awkward and makes us feel unwelcome. read more

We stumbled upon the Hearthfire Grill when other plans fell through, a party of seven with no reservations. The kind hostess worked a miracle in the busy restaurant and we were able to enjoy a fantastic meal along with the beautiful views. Everyone at our table thoroughly enjoyed their meals, from the calamari appetizer to the cobb salad, to the thick cut of pork, the jambalaya, the rotisserie chicken, to the two kids meals of salmon and steak. I wanted to like this place because the ambiance and view were lovely. The food, however, was not very good and the portions very small. Both my husband and I ordered salads with chicken. He ordered the Caesar and I ordered the Hearts of Romaine with blue cheese dressing . After one bite, I offered to trade salads which he gladly did. The blue cheese dressing was not very good, tasted of mayonnaise and it was not the normal hearts of romaine. The Caesar was bland and very small. This was my first time at the Hearthfire Grill portion of Anthony's and it certainly held up. We went in a large group which they happily accommodated for and still served endless rounds of garlic bread sticks. The view is typical of all Anthony's as it faces a marina. Our waitress was friendly and helped us work through some orders. They happily customized some of the proteins in their seasonal salad to better suit some of our guests. I personally went with the burger. The patty itself is a 1/3 lb which is already on the bigger side. The nice part is that all the toppings come separate and you can build the burger as you desire. They even allowed me to substitute in Avocado which was a nice touch. As it is currently peach season we also had one of their peach drops which were nicely balanced between sour and sweet. You can definitely see the fresh peach chunks that help make up the drink. We also tried the peach ice cream and cobbler that were both amazing deserts read more

Took grandma for lunch today on a nice sunny afternoon. We had the corn and crab chowder, which was amazing and two orders of fish and chips. Sadly, the fish and chips was way over cooked and burnt. The fries as our side was also cold . sent it back and it came out over cooked again. Figured we ate one piece out of three and didn't bother sending back again. There was literally only four other tables in the whole restaurant occupied at the time, so maybe the chef just had a bad day or something but it was not good. Ok here is my update, my first review I took on the 36.00 price tag for a 14 ounce steak and why not at least give us a pound, 2 ounces more for the price. I did receive a reply from Anthony's Hearthfire Grill, thanking me for my review and was told the General Manager would be in contact with me, within a couple weeks I did get contacted. He stated a review group for the menu meet and reviews their menu and it would be addressed. The other night we came back and I wanted to look beyond the fore mentioned and try the chicken and rib combo. I found the value ratio to dinner was very good, my wife had the rib steak, she doesnt get rattled over 2 ounces and she was very happy. Now have to give a great rave over the server that won them the 5th star, his name is Chris. His service was beyond what I have had from servers from any other establishment, he was helpful, when I needed anything he was there taking care of it before I could even ask for it. He did all this without hovering over us. Now I usually never tip over 15.00 this man got a 20 out of me, and I was thinking hope I didnt short him, for a old tight wads like my wife and ok me that says loads about the service from Chris and his helpers. So in a nut shell, your not going into a cheap meat house, and they do everything top notch, thank you Chef for being top in your class, yes its more for me a special occasion type place, but you could also feel you lived another day as being special and this would be a great way to reward that. So in closing, yes still want a pound for my 36.00 but you have so many other things that makes me feel I can live without the steak. But giving the steak its just do, it is great cooked to perfection, yeah I swiped a bite off my wifes plate, and loved it. My wife asked does that 2 ounces really make a difference? This place if very good, my only complaint is that if you look up Anthony's on maps it come up with the hearth fire grill and not the more known seafood place. I meant to reserve a table at the seafood place and we walked in and they didn't a table under our name. We went to the other one and it was grill style food. I wish I could actually give a review of this place with more details but it's hard to say... here's why. My wife and I found this place online views and lunch and a beverage were the goals. The place looks great from the outside and the views are nice. The hostess greeted us nicely. We said we'd like to sit in the bar no problem she said. ... that's the end of the review at least the positive. It's mid day 1:30 in the afternoon some locals (it sounded like) seated around the bar. A bartender another server and a guy bussing tables on hand. We sat at the bar right in front of the bartender. No greeting, no I'll be right with you, no sorry here's some waters or menus... nothing! For 15 minutes. We sat I said hmm I wonder which scuttlebutt beer that is on tap?? Bartender 3 ft away nothing... she engaged with all the locals and served several of them while we waited and waited. She talked with several but nothing to us. We were right next to the taps where she filled beers and mixed drinks but nothing. I gave it one star because yelp doesn't allow zero. Zero was our experience at Anthony's hearth fire. We left and found another restaurant and gave it a 5 star review. Glad we left. Food and service at Keenan's at the pier was excellent! read more

Not knowing the area, we stumbled upon this gem. Delicious food and great hospitality. The beet garnish was delicious on the prawns.
