Sushi Sushi and Sashimi for 2

There's casual sushi and then there's sushi if a higher grade. Anzai is value for money and fulfils the casual tier. Looking for a way to fulfill your sushi craving without spending too much? Look no further! Being a long time customer there are several things I'd recommend: 1) salmon (like the salmon lover box) 2) sushi and sashimi for 2 (good value for money!) 3) Shrimp tempura (has thick crust and is not light) All in all, the food is what it is worth and great for the local bite.

Since I'm in East Meadow twice a week, so why not just check out what this town has to offer? It was a Monday evening with scattered showers, so Anzai was a little quiet. It's been a while for me since I had yellowtail jalapeño last, so we started with that along with Sapporo drafts ($6). We then decided to order Sushi & Sashimi for 2. First I thought it was a tad pricey ($58), not knowing how much food we're getting. Sushi & Sashimi for 2 comes with either soup or salad to start, plus 20 pieces of chef's special sashimi, 10 pieces of chef's special sushi, 1 dragon roll, 1 volcano roll. Fish was really fresh. Volcano was also a hit. I love how abundant the wasabi and pickled ginger they provided was. I'd definitely come back to Anzai again.

Met my friend for lunch today at Anazai . The restaraunt is pretty and felt cozy on a rainy day. We were greeted by our lovely server who allowed us plenty of time to chat before we placed our orders . The green tea kept coming , it was flavorful and warmed us up . We shared steamed vegetable dumplings . perfectly filled with small bites of vegetables we dipped into a mildly sweet sauce . The dumplings themselves were silky with the perfect bite . Salad was crispy and dressed well . I chose 3 rolls... Tuna with avacado and cucumber , crunchy salmon and shrimp tempura . Creamy , crunchy , tender, tasty and beautifully prepared and presented ! It was enough to fill me for the day ! And if the mood strikes you there's a bowling alley a few stores away :) Please try Anazi if you're a sushi lover !

Decided to try Anzai, right in the neighborhood on a Friday night. I had this really delicious soup (hot and sour) and the freshest/tastiest kani salad. I also shared a Naruto roll with friends. I tried their Saketini which had crispy shreds of cucumber. The service was great and the waitress gave us time to decide-also made recommendations. I liked the ambiance of this place with soft music and a bar. This place is intimate yet laid back. Can't wait to go back!

Met my aunt here for an early-ish dinner on a Friday. I had never been, but she has and recommended that I met here. I arrived first. She told me to request a table in the back. When I asked the hostess/waitress for a table in the back, she told me it wasn't open yet, and will open at 4:30. At the time of my request, it was about 4:25. My aunt arrived and decided we would wait to able to to sit in the back. The back has a nicer vibe. We moved to the back and ordered drinks. I ordered a blue point lager, and she ordered a raspberry vodka. When our drinks were brought to our table, I noticed something off with mine right away. It had so much carbonation...not very beer-like. We told the waitress right away. She apologized and I ordered a different beer, which came out correctly. We decided to share a whole bunch of food for our dinner. To start we shared shrimp shumai, and sushi pizza. Shrimp shumai was basic. About the same as I've gotten in every sushi establishment. The sushi pizza was out-of-this-world delicious! There were three different kinds of sushi pizza you can chose from. We went with spicy tuna and mango. It was so flavorful! It consisted of a crispy rice crust, topped with seaweed salad, spicy tuna and mango. A delicious marriage of food. For an entree we shared shrimp soba noodles. The portion is sized enough for two people to share, especially if getting other things off the menu. The flavors were good, and it didn't have a lot of sauce, but just enough. Now onto sushi! We got an eel avocado roll, spicy yellowtail, and salmon lovers roll. All the rolls were fresh and tasty. By this time I thought I was done. But my aunt suggested dessert! We chose a bomba. I've never heard of this before. It had chocolate and vanilla ice cream surrounded by a thick chocolate shell, with a cherry in the middle. It was good, a little sweet for me, but still good. Service was good. Our waitress didn't rush us, and didn't mind when we wanted to wait to move to the back at the start of our meal.

I learned recently that Anzai means "pacify the West." Anzai, the restaurant in East Meadow, does exactly the opposite. The restaurant stays true to its eastern roots. The food was authentic and delicious. My fellow Yelper (and real-life bestie) and I ordered the pork gyozas and edamame as starters. The gyozas were perfect. Soft on top and slightly crispy on the bottom. The edamame was soft and salty. For dinner, we had the chicken teriyaki and the October roll, one of Anzai's speciality rolls. I loved my chicken teriyaki. It was on top of some vegetables with that thick, sweet teriyaki sauce drizzled all over. I had brown rice on the side. I also had a choice of soup or salad so I took the salad because I love the ginger dressing they put on top. I forget what was in the October roll. Salmon and avocado and a bunch of other stuff. I was pleasantly surprised but how natural all of the ingredients fit together. With a pretty restaurant decor and attentive staff, I'd be happy to go back to Anzai anytime. Arigato.

Food is always fresh, innovative and delicious. cons service: you feel like you are on a 1/2 hour lunch "rush" no matter day or evening. While enjoying your appetizer and warm sake, the wait staff piles down your entree .... I've learned to order my entree after I've completely finished my app. going for years, wait staff no personable skills though very polite. Decor cosmopolitan, they spent a lot of money on the chairs but now the faux leather vinyl is sagging, peeling and it's hard to find a comfortable seat. I overall love and support this hidden diamond in the ruff Asian restaurant

Ordered the dinner bento boxes from Anzai. Decent size portions and good variety in a bento box. Order the beef negimaki one and a teriyaki salmon one. Rice and soup included. Also had the pineapple rice which seemed like a small portion. All the dishes had good flavor. Will definitely return.

We were due for a date night and opted for Anzai to double with our friends. Not crowded on a Saturday at 7. Drinks were delicious! We opted for the scorpion which most definitely had alcohol in it. Our friends got a Long Island iced tea and lychee martini. Our food came out pretty fast and was quickly devoured. It was one of the best tuna rolls I've had. Prices are more than reasonable. Good for a chill night out!

The staff seemed kind and good spirits during these times. We didn't get to sit in and eat due to covid. The inside looks very nice inside. The cashier helped me through my order because I'm a fake sushi eater( tempura and crab ) everything. I got the shrimp tempura, chicken tempura, washington roll and shrop with cucumber and avocado. Everything was great, food was fresh. Took about 20 mins to wait bc we came in instead of calling in. I inhaled the food. def going to be a regular here.

Cute little place in LI that we came across through Yelp while we were in the area. Wasn't disappointed from our Yelp community! Portions were great and the dishes were plated very colorfully. We ordered the tuna tartare, spicy rock shrimp, soft shell crab, two kinds of soup noodles and 2 combos of sashimi and rolls. The fish was fresh and delicious. All was great and my family was happy with the food and service.

They took our order and the food came out pretty fast. The menu can feel a bit overwhelming since their seems to be a lot of choices. You can definitely ask them for suggestions. Our favorite was the spicy sliced pig ear and the tujia scallion pancake. The noodles that they use was soft but bouncy. I believe they use the same noodles for all their soup noodles. The soup for the noodles was tasty and was not too salty. Parking in front of the restaurant can be a bit of a challenge. We came here right before 6pm on a Saturday and it took a while to find parking. In addition, dinner time you might be waiting 15+ minutes for a table, so plan accordingly. This review is solely on the chicken burger as I'm saving the momos for dinner. The chicken burger was absolutely delicious. Way better than a grilled chicken or fried chicken sandwich from a fast food place. This burger was actual ground chicken seasoned with veggies. You can literally see the seasoning and veggies in the burger. You get seasoned curly fries with the burger as well. While I waited for my food to be prepared, an employee was making coconut ladoo which is like a grated coconut and sugar truffle of sorts. He gave me one to try while waiting, which I thought was very nice of him. All in all, I would for sure go back to try various menu items, including the drinks. This South Asian kitchen artfully blends regional Indian specialties, including those from China and even Nepal, from tandoori sizzlers to street food classics and rich breads, offering a culinary journey few places in Nassau County attempt with such finesse. The food is all created fresh and on location. The showstopper at lunch was the Tandoori Jumbo Shrimp--enormous, flame-grilled prawns with a whisper of char and a radiant glow of saffron and masala. Juicy, fresh, and masterfully spiced, each bite was an explosion of flavors. On the side, the Mixed Vegetable Pakora arrived as a festival of color and crunch. Generously portioned (enough for four), these fritters were golden, airy, and studded with spinach, onion, and root vegetables. Paired with tangy tamarind and zesty mint chutneys, the contrast of warmth and spice was irresistible. The Paneer Paratha--both the house-style and traditional--is a must. Each portion unfolds layers of flavor, the crisp edges giving way to soft pockets of mildly spiced cheese. The Mango Lassi is perfection: chilled, velvety, and sweetened just right, it may be one of the best renditions I have tried. The dining room feels like a serene indoor garden--canopies of flowers and vines cascade from the ceiling, with golden chairs and glass-topped tables beneath. A display case beckons with treats and house-made desserts, while framed wall art pays homage to India's culinary diversity. Kesar Foods dares to represent India's full culinary spectrum. Warm service, vibrant ambiance, and extraordinarily fresh dishes make it a rare and welcome addition to East Meadow's food landscape. The owner Naveen takes great pride in his food. Nothing mass produced, only the freshest ingredients and cooked with love. Highly recommended--especially for hungry medical professionals in need of a nearby, nourishing escape.

The wonton soup was decent......wontons were very good but the broth however was a bit bland. Roast pork fried rice was pretty good.....a little dry and skimpy on the pork but the flavor was more than adequate. Hot and sour soup was really tasty with a good bit of spice. Scallion bubble pancake was very light and tasty. The Emperor cabbage appetizer was probably my favorite meal item.....crispy cabbage tossed in a peanuty garlic sauce with honey. It was served cold (which usually I'm not a big fan of, but this was an exception) and had a great flavor. Pork belly appetizer tasted very good but it wasn't crispy (which would have made it so much better) and the buns they were served with didn't taste completely fresh. Dan Dan noodles with ground beef was excellent.... they're served spicy and you can simply request the level of heat you prefer to fit your taste buds. Soup dumplings were of decent size and quite juicy...... unfortunately they lacked some flavor. Mongolian beef dish was excellent as was the kung pao chicken. Overall it was a pretty good meal but there was some room for improvement. The staff was very nice and it did have quite a cool "old school American Chinese restaurant" vibe from yesteryear.
