I had an enjoyable time at the spa. They took me in at the very last minute. Allowed me to come earlier for my appointment to enjoy the space because I would not have been able to do that after my massage due to me Booking so close to closing time. The relaxation area is very cozy. Tempting to curl up by the fire and nap. The way my body is knitted up, I will need sever deep tissues massages to get it back in working order. I will be back for a future service and longer stay.

I came for a pedicure for my first visit to the new spa. I was prepping for a trip out of town and wanted to treat myself to some down time after a crazy week. It was a quiet afternoon. I had some issues trying to book online, but it was likely because I was trying to find something ASAP. I ended up calling and they thankfully had an open time that day. The spa is in a separate building across the street from the Strathallan hotel. There's a parking lot in front of the entrance. The different spa areas are separated on each floor. You walk into the lobby to check in and they bring you to the floor for your service. I booked the rejuvenating pedicure ($80) which comes with a glass of champagne, cheers to that! This pedicure is a soak, exfoliating scrub, moisturizing mask, plus a paraffin wax, and polish. It was really relaxing and the polish job was good and lasted through my trip and then some. It's also supposed to come with a hand and arm massage. I didn't get that, which was a bummer. Not sure if it was because I was on my phone, but I would have stopped answering emails for that and would have appreciated the ask either way. The space itself is a great option for a group outing if it were for a bridal party or ladies day out. There's a 3 spots for manicures at a table, two seating areas, an OPI nail polish wall, and 4 tubs for pedicures. It's nice that it's a dedicated floor for the nail area. I look forward to going in the future for a massage or other spa treatment.

The Strathallen Hotel is my favorite place to stay when I'm in town for business, and I was thrilled when I came last month and saw the new spa across the street! I was able to call and get a last minute massage appointment, and was not disappointed. After checking in, I was taken to the waiting area. It was BEAUTIFUL! Bathroom, sauna, shower, lockers and a beautiful sitting area to make both before and after your treatment more relaxing. The massage rooms are upstairs, so you take an elevator to get there. I so wish I remembered the name of my masseuse because she was incredible! I got a deep tissue massage and enjoyed every minute. I can't wait to come back for more treatments!

Relaxing and comfortable. Small but amazing and beautiful. Very accommodating and friendly staff that want you to truly enjoy yourself. Will definitely be back and I highly recommend them to anyone in need of a spa treatment.

The salon itself was nice and the staff seemed friendly. At first, everything seemed fine, and I clearly explained how I wanted my hair styled. I have a short bob that can be styled in a lot of different ways. When my stylist parted my hair down the middle, I got a little nervous but hoped it would turn out okay. The entire service was done with just a round brush and blow dryer. When she finished, I was honestly disappointed and told her so. The style made me feel like I looked like a little boy, and I said I could have achieved the same result myself at home. She responded by saying that's just how my hair responds, but I disagreed because I've had my hair styled many times before and know what it's capable of. (Basically I called BS) I even offered to show photos of previous blowouts I've loved. What I asked for was simple, some volume with a slightly sleek finish. I also mentioned that my hair can be parted in different ways. At one point she suggested curling it, but after later looking at the salon's website, I noticed they charge extra for flat iron or curling iron work, which may explain why it wasn't initially offered. To her credit, she did try to fix it, and it looked better, but overall I still wasn't very happy with the experience. I paid, tipped, and moved on, but for $45, I personally didn't feel it was worth it. Unfortunately, I wouldn't return.

As a busy stay at home mom, I usually only get my hair done once in a while so having it look good for the long term is a must. The first time around I specifically came in bc I was getting some family photos done for the holidays. Like so many things labeled "fusion" out there, Fusion Salon tends to do American much better than…read morethey do ethnic. Recalling the fondness my most fashionable (White) friend from college had for this place, I came to this place in August 2010. I had just received an iffy haircut from a cheap Asian hairdresser in Swillberg with rudimentary texturizing and fading skills and I wanted something a step above the standard 15-minute haircut. I figured if anyone could cut my difficult hair well, it would be these guys. At first glance, Fusion was all I had ever dreamed of in a salon. They had comfortable chairs and an extensive magazine collection in the waiting area, Vampire Weekend and other cool indie tunes pumping from the speakers, local art on the walls, and Harney & Sons tea in the pantry. The massive leather barber's chair in which I sat to get my haircut was even more comfortable than the chairs in the waiting room and a peppermint facial massage and hot towel treatment came with every haircut. At $30 plus tip, the price was a little steep, but I loved everything about this place. Except my haircuts. While Jes gave me decent, fashion-forward haircuts when I first started going there, it was never exactly what I asked for and I found more and more wrong with the end results as time went on. After about 5 months, I began noticing unevenness (I'm talking 1/2 inch difference from left to right sides) and my fade soon began to resemble a bowl cut. Admittedly, I have two large protrusions of bone on both sides of my head and my Asian hair is ultra straight, but over the years, I have discovered that these things could be compensated for by cutting my hair to a certain shape, rather than cutting it based on how it might look in a couple of weeks or how you believe my hair might eventually fall. Asian hair doesn't fall. Like a bad relationship, I continued going to Fusion probably much longer than I should have because I was comfortable. I liked the people who worked there, I liked the atmosphere, and the haircuts were satisfactory, at times. I knew how difficult it was for me to find someone who could actually cut my hair and I had tremendous anxiety when thinking about searching for a new salon. But I had to break it off. I'm not saying that Fusion Salon isn't a good place to get your haircut. I'm sure if I were a White woman looking to update her look or a White man asking for something easy, I'd probably still go here every three to four weeks. Unfortunately, I don't fall into either of these categories.

During my appointment I also told her I'd been cutting my own hair for years and wanted to keep my length but get rid of as much split ends as possible. She did exactly that and didn't cut too much. I felt like she really listens to what you want and delivers. It made me feel comfortable going shorter the second time and trying a new style. I have tight coily type 4a-c hair and hadn't gotten my hair professionally straighten in over ten years so I was so happy that my hair turned out straight and the second time it lasted it lot longer.
