I've ordered here a handful of times, as well as had food brought to me from here. I always get the same thing - a breakfast burrito with no meat, as I'm vegetarian. One of the times, the eggs were a little uncooked and runny at the bottom of the burrito, so I just discarded it. The salsa is amazing though, so when I was wanting it, I stopped by today. However, when I got home with the burrito, it was only tortilla, egg and potato. No veggies, and it also appeared the Swiss cheese was either missing, or not noticeable. When I called and requested a remake, both of the men I spoke to gas-lit and argued with me. As a former server and restaurant manager, the level of service today was just awful. It seemed to be different people working today than other times I've gone, but usually they are nice and my order is correct - not today. I like to support local businesses and was referred there by word of mouth (I've also introduced others to the place), but after the experience today, I doubt I'll be returning. At this point, I'm here practically once a week for their breakfast burritos! I get the breakfast burrito with sausage, cheese, hashbrowns, and eggs... Hashbrowns extra crispy. The taste is extremely fresh, the salsa is always nice and medium spicy, which has a nice little cake to the flavor of the eggs, and a tortilla is very soft. I like most about the breakfast burrito served here is that it doesn't make me feel tired a few moments after consuming it. Most breakfast burritos that I consume, give me such a drowsy and lethargic feeling that I basically go into a sleep- coma for the rest of the day, and I cannot move on with my day. However, this breakfast burrito is excellent, is packed with protein, and gives me the energy to continue the rest of my day without feeling sluggish! Super nice and hot! Everything at Apollo Restaurant is pretty average. Apollo's has been in Burbank since I was a kid and is located in a prime spot on a busy intersection next to Burbank High school. This place is definitely popular amongst the locals and the High school kids . Apollo's is only open for breakfast and lunch, serving breakfast burritos, burgers, sandwiches and much more. The prices are fair and service is generally friendly and quick. If you check-in on your yelp App, you get a free drink with your first visit. Apollo's is in a shared lot with a cleaners and a coffee shop, so parking can be a challenge during peak hours. I'm not going to beat them up too much because I respect the fact they've been serving the community for so long. I just prefer Norm's for my breakfast burritos. Apollo's isn't a bad option if you're looking for a quick bite at a reasonable price. read more

Paid $15 for a Pastrami sandwich fries and a drink....fries were decent and a reasonable amount...but the sandwich was a joke. Tasted OK....but there was hardly anything of it. The (thin) bun was seven inches by three inches (maybe). Literally three normal bites per half. I have to be truthful....there actually was some Pastrami on the thing...it would probably have registered as weighing something on a digital grams scales. At 73 years old, and having enjoyed Pastrami sandwiches at delicatessens and sandwich shops all over, how would I rate this one? Better than average breakfast burrito, probably one of the worst cheeseburgers I've ever had in my life. I ordered the bacon breakfast burrito with hashbrowns and the cheeseburger. The bacon breakfast burrito was honestly pretty good. It was not the best breakfast burrito I've ever had, but it was a dang good one. Breaking down the individual components, most of them were well done. The bacon was oddly really tasty. I'm not sure what bacon brand they use, but it was really good. They cooked the bacon till it was crispy, so the texture was really nice. The hashbrowns were perfect. Arguably the best hashbrowns in a breakfast burrito I've had. They were crispy and flavorful. The hashbrowns were also the perfect texture to fit in the burrito. I like the tortilla they used. The cheese was really tasty. My only issue with the burrito is the eggs. The eggs were incredibly underseasoned. Eating the eggs on their own, I could not detect any seasoning. Though, they were cooked to the perfect texture. The salsa that came with it was fantastic. It was a perfect spicy that complimented the burrito perfectly. The additional umami flavor from the tomatoes from the salsa also worked well to freshen up the burrito. The cheeseburger was absolutely a disaster. Again, this was probably the worst cheeseburger I had to pay for. All of the components making up the burger were terrible. Starting with the bread. It was definitely stale. It had the weirdest texture I've felt on bread. I don't know if was expired, or gone bad, but it was a weird chewy, and tough texture. It's bread! It's not supposed to be chewy and tough. The cheese was just American cheese so no issue, except for the fact that it was fully melted. The patty is disgusting. It was not juicy, very tiny, and not flavored at all. For the lettuce, just look at the picture I posted, it's absurd. Overall this cheeseburger was disgusting. The saving grace of this restaurant really is the burrito. The quality of the food is questionable. The burrito ingredients tasted pretty good and were standard. The salsa tasted really fresh, so I believe they make it in-house. Again the bun from the cheeseburger was an issue. It was definitely swell and of bad quality. The patty itself was gross. It was definitely frozen. The flavor tasted bad, which made me believe it was cheap quality meat. The presentations are average. They just came wrapped. I do have to note the enormous piece of lettuce protruding from the cheeseburger. Although the cheeseburger is just a standard presentation, the lettuce is a big turn-off. In terms of portion to price, it is semi-fair. I would definitely pay the same price for the burrito. They put a good amount of bacon and other ingredients inside that burrito. The burrito is well worth the price. Though, the audacity of the restaurant to charge $8 for the cheeseburger is atrocious. I would put the price point for the cheeseburger at around 50 cents. The buns are overly big and overpower all the ingredients of the burger. Looking at the picture, the patty is incredibly thin. The lettuce is humongous. The portioning of ingredients in the cheeseburger was not there. On top of that, it is an expensive cheeseburger. Therefore you have a terribly portioned cheeseburger, with bad quality ingredients, and a terrible taste, for an expensive price. The staff was ok. They were not over-welcoming nor under-welcoming. They were just ok. The food came out pretty fast. I did not have to wait long. The ambiance is pretty bland. For a restaurant, the decor is very boring. The place is overall very clean, from the dining area to the inside of the kitchen. The parking is alright. They have a parking lot, but it is quite tight. Since they had the word "HAMBURGERS" in big letters on the front of the building, I opted for a burger. It took a weirdly long time and what I got was a big, chewy bun and a disgusting, dense burger patty that was 1/3 the size of the bun. I opted to eat the fixings without the patty. read more

I happened to walk by this place and stopped by for a breakfast burrito. The breakfast burritos are $5 (w choice of meat) and if you want hash browns you can add that for 50 cents. The price seemed pretty reasonable so I went in a purchased one. While I thought the service was wonderful, the size of the burrito itself was a bit disappointing. when I bit into it, it was literally all egg and only 1 strip of bacon. I'm still hungry. Hahaha. A hole in the wall diner that used to be fantastic back in the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s and 2000. My husband and I hadn't eaten there in decades and tried it out again. We were very disappointed. The hamburger was flavorless, the french fries, which were shoestring, were soggy, and my chili hot dog seemed like it was nuked and couldn't even eat it because the bun turned into a rock. I had not been to Apollo since my HS days where we would get tasty breakfast sandwiches on the cheap. I was in the area on a Saturday morning, was hungry and had time to kill so I made my way to Glenoaks & Magnolia. Parking is very limited. Drove into the lot and drove right out. Lot was full. Drove around the block and found parking in front of nearby Domino's. The curb looks like it was formerly 30 min (Green?) parking only but had been half-painted over but there were really no other open parking options nearby. Walked up to the window and ordered the $5 breakfast sandwich with bacon and fried eggs. I remember this sandwich in my younger days. It was good, cheap and had lettuce, tomato and mayo. So I ask the Korean guy (owner?) behind the counter to make sure it came with that and he was like "no, it only comes with 4 pieces of bacon and 2 fried eggs"... Seriously?? I remember clearly it had lettuce & tomato with it... and mayo. AND... prior to goin there, I checked out Yelp to look at some food pics and there it is, a breakfast sandwich WITH lettuce and tomato. So what happened? I thought that was weird. The breakfast sandwich was fine, although lacking. Bacon was good. Eggs were good. I added ketchup... Standing outside waiting for your food and being disappointed was one thing but being bugged by a homeless guy for change after he has approached everyone else in the vicinity is another. Probably best not to eat at the tables outside if you want some peace while eating your meal. I ate mine inside the air conditioned dining area. Pretty disappointed at the meal I had at Apollo. It didnt live up to what I remembered it to be. It's too bad. I wont be coming back. Oh, I almost forgot. It's CASH ONLY... I really don't want to write a bad review because I've been coming here for like two decades but with everything that's going on with covid, I would like to suggest that maybe the cashier who takes cash not handle food or drinks. He is always so nice and was wearing gloves but it's the same set of gloves that touches cash all morning then presses down all around on my coffee lid...maybe have the customer do that for themselves so you aren't responsible for contamination or adding to the spread of Covid? Maybe look up some advice or training guides online for restaurant specific sanitation? This has to be a violation of current guidelines, not to mention a major gross out, pandemic or not. I would give this place 5 stars, but it's always overcrowded for such a small place, on somedays you even have to call before you go in so you won't have to be stuck 35 minutes for a breakfast burrito. -_- Go here in the morning and it puts you in an instant good mood or the rest of the day, the breakfast burritos are awesome and that's all I've tried here in the morning, but honestly you can't blame me, it's just that good. Don't go here if you don't like breakfast otherwise you'll come out of it so so. First off, I've had way better breakfast burritos within a 2 mile radius of Burbank and I'm actually disappointed in not waiting 45 minutes at another place to have breakfast. My family and I love getting breakfast burritos here. My husbands been getting his here since high school days from the original owners. We Usually order here every Saturday.. but the past few times have been very disappointing. After about 3x of purchasing 4 burritos each time and being disappointed, I don't think we'll be coming back. Not sure if it's a change in cooks or what, but they've become very inconsistent. These last times, the meat is either NOT chopped up or barely chopped and mixed with the eggs and potatoes. So when you take a bite it's either all potatoes, all meat, or egg. Then there's barely any cheese. I opened it up today to find a quarter or an American cheese slice. Again, they've become very inconsistent and sad to say there goes our breakfast burrito spot.
