This place is awful. I was forced to eat here with a group of friends. I was reminded about how awful Applebees is. Let's start with their lack of vegetarian options. It took forever to get our drink and food orders. I finally got my mediocre salad and the waitress left before I could even ask for silverware. It took way too long for them to serve us our food. In turn, it caused us to be late to a concert we were all attending that evening. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. There are many other options in this area. This low rating reflects the poor service we received at the bar and not the quality of the food. First, The bartender did not acknowledge we were seated at the bar until 10 minutes after we sat down. We ordered our food at the bar. The food was great. The bartender never looked our way after sitting the food down nor did she ask if the food was satisfactory or if we wanted drink refills. The second, more attentive bartender lost her focus at the end of our meal as she succumbed to playing around with employees who were sitting at the bar joking around with bar patrons. We weren't asked if we wanted dessert. We had to request our bill after receiving our to go box and being ignored for nearly 5 more minutes. We used to love this place; service was great and our food was great. Lately, however, the service has declined significantly. Even the management we encounter is rude and has an attitude when having to deal with mistakes. The food is mediocre at best and that's if they have it made correctly in the first place. We visited on a Tuesday, 9/11/18, after not eating here for a long time due to slow service and poorly prepared food. All I can say is things haven't changed. Nobody refilled our drinks and we were there for close to 2 hours. Tables that came in and ordered well after we did were receiving their food before us. The 4-cheese macaroni barely had any cheese on it. It was almost all pasta. It all looked unappetizing like it had been sitting in the window. The manager was walking around complaining out loud saying "this is ridiculous" etc, and she and our server appeared to be butting heads. Meanwhile, other servers were standing around texting. Try the Ruby Tuesday's farther east on Lincoln Hwy if you want something similar. read more

Terrible service by waitress Sherry G. Waited almost 45 minutes before food was delivered. One order arrived incorrect. We still ate it anyway. Was still charged for it anyway. Waitress was sweet as pie, but took accountability for nothing (kitchen is slow but not as slow as the other day, I don't know why they give me so many tables, I'm new take it easy on me). A trip to Applebees is usually the result of gift cards and not an innate desire for fresh, delicious food. We've come to expect salty, not great food from Applebees. We were pleasantly surprised that our waiter Hector came up to us with wit, humor, and was quite verbose right from the start of the experience. Someone would be wise to take serious note of how Hector handles customers. We overheard another waiter berating the host about where he was seating people (not professional at all). Hector's positive attitude and humor was a completely unexpected surprise this evening, and we commend him for doing the unexpected and giving us some laughter and great service! read more

Guess I should have checked Yelp out before going here tonight. After feeling generally disappointed by so many chain restaurants for quite a while I decided to be a squeaky wheel. My Thai Shrimp Salad was missing several elements: 1. It was supposed to have a peanut sauce on it -- it was a no-show until I asked the server about it. 2. There was supposed to be fresh cilantro on top -- also not there. 3. Sliced almonds -- don't recall them either. Despite all of that, the salad was still pretty good (with the peanut sauce). It probably would have been amazing if prepared correctly according to the menu. My wife had fish and chips. She made it half way through before she hit a big patch of wet batter. I "think" the fish was cooked through but white fish like this is translucent when raw, so it was hard to judge. Is there such a thing as sushi and chips? Anyway, to the server's and manager's credit they took the fish and chips off the bill and gave the kids free ice cream. I'd say the kitchen needs to get in order. They have an AMAZING location and should have many good reviews but currently that is lacking. read more

Went here only because another restaurant wasn't open. We ended up ordering the 2 for $25 deal, which give you 1 appetizer and 2 entrees. The appetizers we got was the spindip and the beer pretzels( ordered separate ). They were extremely good and hot, Very tasteful. The entrees we got were not that great. The butchers meat and potatoes was good but was bland, no seasonings or anything, even the gravy was underwhelming. The other entree (forgot name) was chicken and shrimp. That too wasn't great, no seasoning on anything. Just fried potato chunks, and shrimp. The chicken wasn't dry but just tasted like chicken. I guess this is why it's on the 2 for 25 menu but still it should of been better if they expect people to come back. read more

Decided to get a quick bite tonight. We went there many times for a salad. Tonight the manager who showed our seats said he would see if there was a server who could help us. First sign of a problem. They had no Captain Morgan yet there is a liquor store across the street. Ordered 2 salads the chicken was good nicely grilled but the lettuce was packaged, wilted, and contained the harder pieces of iceberg lettuce. Very little flavor. The server was new and did try her best was attentive. However, this is a place I will not visit again. Go to the Lancaster Brewery behind it you will be happier with their food and services. read more

Went there for dinner last night, ended up getting the whiskey burger. The meat was a tad overcooked, the bacon extremely overcooked and the fries had a bad aftertaste. Even the kecthup wasnt enough to save those bitter fries. My friend got the beef brisket taco and her coleslaw had random bits of meat in it. Barely any meat in the tacos, the tacos were way too over loaded with sauce. Also, our server only checked on us one time, and that one time was literally five seconds after our food came, before we could even take a bite she asks us if everything tasted fine. She didnt have a very friendly attitude. I could tell she was faking it. After the one and only time she checked on us, she disappears for the remainder of our time there. We had to ask a passing server if she could get us a to go box since our server was nowhere to be found. Our server finally shows up 5 mins later...very poor service. We were in Lancaster last night on a trip to the outlets. After a long evening of shopping we stopped in at Applebee's for a late dinner (around 9 pm). We have an Applebee's close to home that we always have good experiences at. We were seated promptly and got our orders in soon after. Our appetizer came out just fine. Probably only 3-4 minutes later a table runner (who I think was a manager) brought our meals out. This is a huge peeve of mine. You have a less than half-eaten appetizer crowding your table and your moving stuff around to make room for your meals. I ordered what I usually do , Fiesta Lime Chicken. The chicken had hardly any sauce on it and virtually no cheese. As for the rice that it is served with, I swear there was barely a tablespoon only plate. It is also served with pico de gallo. The small cup it was served in had like 6 anemic looking pieces of tomato and a couple of pieces of onion. I don't expect a Michelin or Zagat rated meal at an Applebee's, but it was sad. My younger daughter got a kids chicken finger meal and it came with maybe 6 or 7 French fries. I would've complained on the spot but I shudder to think about what happens to those plates if they are sent back. Really pathetic. The only bright spot was that our server was polite and attentive. She's the only reason for the one star. read more

If I could give this place -100 stars I would. Let me start out by saying I'm a 21 year old server & have never written a review before now. It took 20 minutes for my friends and I to even see a server. After we finally got our drinks I watched 3 other tables get sat and eventually get up and leave. Like I said, I'm a server so I get it... but there were a total of 9 tables in the entire restaurant. I could have clocked in and taken care of the whole restaurant myself. Our appetizer was okay but our server was still MIA, never asked us how anything was. I only watched him give people drinks then go missing again. I had to go up to the bartender to get another drink. Our entrees came out ice cold and we had to ask another server to get a manager for us. May I add we never got silverware or appetizer plates, my friend got up and got them herself. The other waitress said they were short staffed, which again, being a server I understand but this staff is poorly trained and clearly just does not care. We arrived here last night at 11:30pm, they close at midnight ~ They welcomed us in and we sat ~ The servers and host were very friendly ~ The food arrived in a timey manner ~ Now ~ here's where the problem lies.......~ I ordered The Garlic Parmesian Shrimp & Sirloin Steak ~ with a side of broccoli and smashed garlic potatoes ~ They close at midnight, we arrived a half n hour before closing time ~ They didn't want to take the time to cook my steak properly due to closing time in 30 minutes! ~ My steak arrived not looking like a normal grilled seasoned steak! ~ To get it out the kitchen quickly they boiled it and then seared grill marks on it! ~ The steak was bloated, round and shaped a Goodyear blimp! ~ because it was boiled the steak was whitish and look like pork instead! ~ it had no seasonings on it ~ and..... I ordered medium rare, what I received was almost white in the center, slightly pink! ~ I had a way better steak than this at Bob Evans! ~ This Steak dinner at applebees was $16.99 ~ it was the nastiest steak I have ever received at a restaurant in my whole entire life ~ read more

Shockingly bad service, I can't even stress enough how incredibly rude every single employee we encountered was. The bartender, who gave us a very annoyed look for sitting at her EMPTY bar, told us she was off work in 15 minutes so after waiting around 15 minutes she came over and told us we would not be waited on because she was leaving. I asked if another bartender would be replacing her and she did not know. It was 1:15 in the afternoon and she did not know if she was going to be replaced. We went over to the host to see about getting a table but the host was new and said he wasn't sure if we could get a table or not (there were around 7 empty tables near us). The manager came over and I asked her how long the wait was and we were unapologetically told we would not be served because the computer system just went down. It is amazing how rude they were, we were definitely made to feel customers were a nuisance to them. Absolutely the WORST, WORST, WORST restaurant I have ever been to, they don't deserve the 2 1/2 star rating they have. Went in tonight - trick or treat night. Was seated by hostess. Sat and waited for 10 minutes....2 servers, 2 bidders and the hostess passed our table. No one stopped to ask if someone had taken drink orders or whatever. Hostess walks by us and sits patrons two tables down and the waitress comes right over . We left and the hostess acts as if we were leaving after eating. The restaurant was not busy . Went back in just to make sure she knew we left because no one came over to our table. "I apologize. To start off, the adult entrees came out and then at least 20 minutes later, after asking multiple times and asking for a manager,the kids meals came out. They told us that they would include a free kids dessert. The kids dessert was no where to be found. We asked again about the dessert and it finally came out. A drink order was never brought to our table and we decided to cancel it and just get coffee. After waiting again, the server came out saying they needed to brew a new pot of coffee so it would take some time. We told her to forget it, we paid the bill and left. Incredibly horrific service.
