Unfortunately for me, I've had reason to call Appliance Guard three times in the last six months, for separate appliance-related problems. Fortunately for me, I've had Boris - the owner - come out each time. Granted, I know nothing about appliances or how they work, but Boris just seems like a guy I can trust. I first called Appliance Guard because they had the lowest in home/estimate fee - $35, which is about $20 less than what most other companies charge. For that cost, Boris opens up your appliance, tells you what the problem is and what it would cost to fix it. If he does the work, the $35 is waived - I'm sure other companies do the same. However, what he did and certainly didn't have to do is this: I had a problem with my dishwasher last week. Boris said the repair to fix the pump would be about $250, but he recommended just getting a new unit. So, he told me to shop around and if I still decided to have my current dishwasher repaired, he would credit the $35 to the repair. Not something he had to do. Anyway, the two repairs he's done for me appear to be all good and I couldn't be happier with the service. Sure, I have no idea what others charge for the same repairs because I just had him do the work, but I do get some piece of mind that the work is being done properly. Called this company based on there reviews, we had yury stop by and diagnose our dryer that was giving off no heat. Yury called 30 min ahead before he arrived. He was polite and friendly, he diagnosed the dryer for having a bad ignitor, quoted a fair price and I decided to proceed with repairs. Ran the dryer now a few times to see if it's holding up and it's working like brand new!!! I'm happy as heck that this company was able to stop by on Sunday and take care of our problem. BTW - I guess you are one of those repairmen that think you can fix an appliance and install a part without moving it.... My washing machine has had an unreliable spin cycle for several months. I've been putting off service because it's hard to tell when the problem will occur, plus Covid and having people in the house. But issue finally became too troublesome so I found Appliance Guard on Yelp and gave them a call. Mike came out, fully masked and distanced, and quickly diagnosed the issue. He ordered the required part and came back a few days later to complete the repair. While here, he also checked my dishwasher that had stopped working, and recommended replacing the unit since the repair would be so costly. My washing machine and dryer broke down the same week. Mike at Appliance Guard was amazing in helping me get someone out to my place overnight and was great at helping me keep calm - instead of freaking out - when the repair guy arrived early and I couldn't meet him. Mike arranged to have someone come over again a few hours. It appears my 14-year old Kenmore machines had been on their last legs for a while and had to be replaced, which means I can't comment on Appliance Guard's repair work, BUT, I would trust them future repairs given their honesty and responsiveness. We called Boris at Appliance Guard to look at our fridge and freezer, which kept overheating. The first thing that impressed us is that he came to our house the same day, he even showed up earlier than his estimate (the first time that's ever happened to us!) Boris had the repair parts on his truck and went straight to work replacing the Freon, inspecting the computer panel behind the fridge, etc. The next day I called and told Boris our freezer was back to 0 degrees but our fridge was still running warm. He said to give it 24 hours. The next morning, which was a Saturday, he called to check in. I told him the situation was the same, so he drove to our house from Seal Beach and spent over 1 hour working on the fridge. This time the temp went down to 37 degrees and it's been fine ever since. Boris' professionalism is outstanding. He is prompt and courteous and clean. He came the day we called him, and he not only fixed our major problem but also a couple of minor issues that have needed repair for a long time. And I still can't believe he followed up the next day by calling us, and then he came right to our house to make some final fixes at no charge. I was having a problem with my dryer not heating up. I was hesitant to call and have a repair man enter my home due to Covid-19. I called appliance guard as I had used them in the past a few years ago. I spoke with Mike who gave me an appointment for Saturday between 9-11. He also assured me that the tech would be wearing gloves and a mask. Yuri showed up on Saturday at 9 as promised he was wearing a mask and gloves which he never took off and was practicing social distancing. Arrived right at nine, friendly and very professional. He looked at our frig -- which of course went out right after moving into our new place -- with in 15 min he know what was wrong. My oven went out on a Saturday evening. I got up on Sunday morning to see if I could find anyone that may work on the weekends or at least get an appointment scheduled for as soon as possible. I decided on these guys for two reasons. They work Sundays and they had a lot of great reviews. I called about 7:50am, got a call back about 8:05am and had a technician at my door at 9:50am. Who does that? Especially on a Sunday! He called when he was 20 mins out to let me know he was on the way. He quickly diagnosed the problem, had thankfully had the part on his truck. He got it repaired and was gone by 10:20am. Service doesn't get any better than that. I don't have any others to compare the pricing to, but it wasn't so much that I felt like I was getting ripped off. The technician was polite, clean and informative. So I searched on yelp to find someone better. I am a Realtor and was in a bind to get a stove-top fixed for one of my clients on a house that was about to close escrow. There was no time to spare! Sears Kenmore Washer, not agitating. A little research tells me the agitator needs replacement. While normally I am handy and would attempt a DIY repair, I decide to let someone else do it and get it done ASAP. Narrowed search area on Yelp via Driving Distance filer, sort by Highest Rated. At #4, Appliance Guard is the top rated one that come out to do a repair. I called Boris that night, and I get a time window of 10-1 for next day. At 10:30am, I get a heads up courtesy call from Boris that he is 10 minutes way. Once in the house, Boris checks the washer, he is confident it's the agitator, from overloading as I suspected as well. He gives me a quote, I accept. He takes it apart, goes out to truck, comes back, implements the fix. Bada bing, bada boom, Boris shows me the washer is working like it should. $37 part, $3 Tax, $80 Labor, $120 total. Boris was on time, pleasant, professional, and effective. I will not hesitate to call him again for the next inevitable appliance repair. read more

Was really looking forward to having them come out to fix my oven based on the good reviews. I was given a 3 hour window for someone to arrive, I made sure I was home for the 3 hours but unfortunately no one showed up. When I called, they said someone would be there in another hour. But that didn't happen either, at that point it had been 4 hours of waiting around so decided to reschedule to a day I would be the first stop. Over an hour past the appointment time I call to see what's going on and Kayla who answers the phone says there has been a family emergency. I get it, that happens, but why wasn't I called and made aware so I wasn't sitting at home waiting, yet again, for someone to arrive? They said someone could come out in 40 minutes which is 2 hours passed the time I was initially told. Kayla was extremely rude and unprofessional every time I called. I cannot believe someone who answers the phone for a business puts so little effort into being friendly or even nice. I called AG a couple of weeks ago for a non-heating dryer and got a window of time that same day for a repair visit. Boris called as he was finishing his previous appt, letting us know he'd be there soon. He got to work and tested the dryer, coming up with a diagnosis with a matter of minutes. He offered a couple of options and didn't push the sales of his parts, but we went with him and the parts (he gave us a 1 year warranty on the part) and within 30 minutes the dryer was working perfectly. He made us feel comfortable, was attentive and answered all of our questions. He even gave us a couple of tips on keeping it running smoothly and effiiciently (clean the vent more often!)... I'll give him a five, but one note: I left a message the night before and didn't get a callback by 11 a.m., so I called and spoke to someone there..Got that appt that day and you know the rest... read more

I called Appliance Guard based on the Yelp reviews when our KitchenAid dishwasher stopped working. Scheduling was easy as this wasn't an emergency and I pushed the date out to the end of the week when I would be home. On the day of the appointment the technician was late but Mike at the office apologized, called the technician and called me back with a new estimated arrival time. Once the technician showed up and looked at the dishwasher he said the problem was the drain pump. The estimate for parts and labor which I approved. He had to get a new pump and said he could come back the next day. I paid the service charge - which you can put towards the repair. The next day he showed up on time. The entire process took a little over an hour. During the repair he said we needed to clean the filter in the dishwasher - I didn't even know there was one! Also since the interior is stainless, he recommended a product to remove the hard water calcium deposits. He also checked the drain hose and cleaned it out. The repair total came out to be a little less than the estimate (with a 20% labor discount and the service charge) and feel it was totally reasonable. Overall, I am very happy with the service from Appliance Guard. Mike in the office is easy to work with as well as their technician (sorry, but I forgot his name). The technician was very courteous and cleaned up the area afterwards. He gave me some good advice. I would use them again. read more

Every one of us misses the mark at some time, how that is dealt with shows character IMO. Making the appt. was simple, they came out same day and even re-scheduled when I needed to leave for an errand. Repairman Boris is a tidy gentlemanly fellow who listened patiently to me before starting my washer and diagnosing the problem based on sound, as one would expect from an expert. He explained everything to me and quoted a very reasonable price before proceeding. He had the part in his huge immaculate truck and finished the job quickly. Afterwards he informed me how to protect my washer pump in the future (no coins!) which I truly appreciate considering my goof is their gain. AG was my second call. Really pleased with this company. I called on a Friday night at 7:30pm with a dishwasher that wouldn't drain. They were able to schedule a repairman for 8am Saturday morning. Yuri, the repairman, called at 7:45 to let me know he was on his way and arrived promptly at 8 and got to work. Less than an hour later everything was sorted out. Yuri was very professional and helpful. He worked carefully and cleanly and was pleasant without being overly chatty and wasting time. My dryer stopped heating up last night. Clothes were staying wet. After calling a bunch of places that wouldn't even help because of Coronavirus, I came across Appliance Guard. Mike picked up right away and said they could check it today! He said Mathew would be able to come over & check it in a few hours...but then he called right back & said that he could get here even sooner if we were available. Mathew was here in like 15 mins. He was super nice, checked it out, said it was the thermostat & fuse....he had the new parts in his truck, & was done in 20 mins. He even checked out & advised us on the washer, which works okay but is loud and won't spin on extra high anymore. Anyway, It was a very reasonable price.
