I have had three appointments with them; well two and a makeup. They can not keep appointments on time. Appointment one, for a four-hour window, was missed. I kept calling and was told there was only one guy and he had car trouble and got stuck at the dealership because of that. They said they could come back the next day and were late for that appointment too. That was for the dishwasher, and once they got there the service was good. So when my A/C started leaking, I called them again and was given another block of time. When there was an hour left, I started calling; and they started stalling again. Earlier appointment was running long, but we'll be there at the end of the time block. Then, will be 15-minutes late. And then maybe one hour late; here again I was told about van trouble and being delayed at the dealership, and there was only 'one guy' who was swamped. When it was one-hour after the appointment (and I'd take time off from work to be home, and had the leaking A/S running to show the problem) I called and said if they can't keep their appointment, they have lost me as a client. Once bitten, twice shy. NEVER call them if you value your time; because they sure as heck don't. read more

These guys were so professional from the time I spoke to them on phone to the time they showed up the same day. Mike had the courtesy to give me a heads up that he was held back with an appointment and was going to be a few minutes late. Very impressed! Yury the technician was utmost professional and kind too. Very hard to find these days. They even waited on the phone for almost 30 minutes with my home warranty! They will be back in a few days to Install the part that needs to be fixed. I called Boris at Appliance Guard about a broken washing machine at a rental property I own. He arranged a time with the tenant for that very day, called to let me know when he arrived the house, then reported back an hour later that, after a through look at the machine, there was nothing wrong! It was apparently a problem with a blocked drain in the sink. I was so happy! He was polite, very honest, and friendly. He told me he would call the tenant the next morning to make sure all was OK. The repair man Boris, (might be the owner, not sure) is extremely nice and professional until he lands the job. Once I gave him the deposit and the approval to repair my refrigerator he was not as nice. His verbal estimate was higher than what he billed me for and he had an unacceptable explanation for the higher price. Since he already ordered the part I just sucked it up and paid for it. Now here I am 6 months later with the same problem on my refrigerator. I called him today to ask him how long the warranty on his work was for, and he responded "It says right there on the receipt". We needed a new gas dryer installed because the company that delivered the dryer had a variety of reasons for not installing it. (despite the fact that we had paid for installation!) It was pure luck that I chose to call Appliance Guard!! I spoke to Mike in the office who could not have been more accommodating. He said they had a technician in the area who could be here soon. Within 20 minutes Matt arrived. He was pleasant, efficient, and patiently answered all of our questions. Repairing appliances should be pretty straightforward. With Appliance Guard, it's just that. I have an older Sub-Zero refrigerator-freezer and don't want to replace it. Boris came out, gave me a quote---not cheap, but not unreasonable, and I told him to perform the repair. He did what he said he would do, and the unit works like new. He initially said it might need a larger fan but finally concluded it wouldn't be needed, saving me additional cost. Company kept their two appointments and called me when I was the next stop. As an update to my previous review expressing my disappointment in Appliance Guard for never calling me back after (4) calls about my JennAir Range, I took the advise of another Yelper and called Allen and Sons. They arrived on time, diagnosed the issue wtih the igniter plates, cleaned them with a wire brush and now none of my burners make a clicking noise (problem fixed) They also said that if the clicking returned, I may have to replaced the igniter switch and the cost would be about $300. Their fee was reasonable. Now I know there are other options. Customer service is critical to me. read more

I was able to get an appointment within a day and a half for someone to fix my microwave. The technician had the part and fixed it within an hour or so. The price was very reasonable compared to the previous company I dealt with that was very unRELIABLE. They charged me a service fee and never came back to fix the oven. read more

Not so great. I had a problem with my gas range, and using the internet, diagnosed the problem (correctly, as it happens. ) I was a little bit leery of working on the stove myself, with a gas line and about 10 different electrical wires, so I called Appliance Guard to send out a tech. I gave them the stove's model number and explained the problem, and the dispatcher I spoke to agreed with my diagnosis, and said the tech would bring the needed part along. The dispatcher said the tech would arrive between 8 a.m. and 11 a.m.. I requested the earliest service possible, so I could still get to work. I was told that I was the only appointment scheduled for that day, so far, so an early arrival was likely. Come the day of our appointment, the tech didn't arrive until 10:30. Strike one. He examined the stove, agreed that the part needed replacing, but he didn't have it with him. Maybe tomorrow. Strike two. So I asked for his estimate. He proposed to charge me $91 for the part and $114 for labor. Well, I had priced the part online, and knew it could be purchased for under $55, so I asked him what he would charge to install the part if I bought it myself. He refused, saying, "You buy it yourself -- you install it yourself." Strike three. I declined his offer. I bought the part myself for $53, and I did install it myself in about 20 minutes. I paid ApplianceGuard $35 for the service call and diagnosis, and consider it money well spent -- but paying them to fix the problem would definitely not have been a sound economic decision. read more

After reading the Yelp reviews, I decided to call Applicance Guard when my freezer gave out. to echo others - I am so glad I did. Mike called me back 5 minutes after I left a messge, listened to the problem and provided advice. He told me to call first thing in the morning if the freezer still wasn't working - which it wasn't. When I called this morning, Mike told me he would have someone out within 2 hours, which was great! He then called back and said someone would be here in 15 minutes - what great customer service. I had a frozen water line in my fridge that I tried to remedy myself with a blowdryer, but not before I shoved a skewer up in the water line where a little 1" piece broke off. Ugh. Yury came out the next day and after trying lots of things that little sucker came out (the skewer, not Yury). My water line in the back of the fridge broke a couple days later and Yury came back out and fixed that too. It was definitely old and cracked but all fixed up now. Got a phone call 20 min before the arrival time. Boris arrived at the expected time and was very friendly. I had a great experience using this company. I woke up to a loud humming sound from my refrigerator, thought it was something simple so I unplugged the unit and turned it back on hoping the sound would go away. No luck, the unit was still humming. Called a buddy to come over who is a bit more mechanical then I am and he couldn't figure it out either. I finally decided to give up and call a pro, this company rushed out the next day and diagnosed a faulty fan motor in the freezer section - the tech had he part on the van and gave me a good deal to get it replaced. My fridge needed servicing badly and it had a mildew problem in the ice/water door feature. Tech showed up on schedule. Pleasant and very knowledgeable. Cleaned all the components, put a new filter in for me and replaced a valve. Vacuumed all the coils and cleaned behind the box. Will echo great response time, fair price and excellent service. My old Maytag washer, one of the last to be built in Ohio, had a timer switch failure. Yuri diagnosed this quickly and was back in 2 days with a replacement. This replacement was not cycling and 2 days later he installed another. His PARTS SUPPLIER promised this and a third timer, all matched to the model and serial number of the washer, did not synch with the cycles of my washer. The same model timer was used for many years with dozens of models of washers with dozens of variations of control options. Yet Yuri would not give up. He sent a photograph of the synch code to a supplier on the East coast and found a match. On a fourth visit a working timer switch was installed that worked perfectly. Appliance Guard honored the original repair estimate and never charged for the 3 additional visits. This was the third excellent experience I've had with Yuri, and Michael. Hello folks. Our washing machine would not spin with error code "LE." Called Appliance Guard. They used to have a guy named "Matt" there who was awesome! Technician came out (not Matt), he pushed some buttons which lit up all the buttons, and told us we needed a new main control, which is a mother board for you computer aficionados! Charged us $55.00 for the visit, and the estimate was $400.00 to replace the motherboard, which included a 20% discount on the part. Awesome right?!! Not so fast, sports fans! After the tech left, my wife smelled a rat (and we took care of the rat problem last month). We looked up the error code online and the hall sensor seemed to be the likely culprit. Suspecting something fishy, or rodenty, as it were, we called Appliance Guard back and asked how it was determined that it was the mother board because the tech never opened the machine or looked at the mother board (which is located at the front, top, right corner of the machine.) (We have Mothers and are familiar with mother boards.). Appliance Guard said they would talk to the tech and get back to us. However, like the Yankees' front office in October, THEY NEVER CALLED US BACK. We purchased a $10.00 hall sensor from Amazon and put it in ourselves. The machine works fine now! Let that be a lesson to you all! Beware of technicians not named "Matt" and beware of Appliance Guard. read more

We had a Kitchenaid Superba Microwave/Oven that needed fixing because of a problem with the microwave door, and they were able to repair it with 100% customer satisfaction. I don't normally write reviews but the reviews on yelp really helped me find a repair man so I thought I would return the favor. Boris came around 10:00 during his 9:00-12:00 window. Called first letting me know he was 15-20 minutes away. Replaced the fan in my freezer (which he had in his truck) and charged me $100 less than the last company that replaced this part two years ago. I called Boris at 7:50am on a Monday. He answered and asked what my problem was. I explained that both my range and fridge/freezer were not working properly, but especially the fridge was a problem. He explained the service call pricing, which was inexpensive and said that if they fixed it successfully, that cost would go towards the repair. He gave me a 9am-12pm window, but explained that he'd try to get there close to 9. He called at 9:10 and said he was on his way and arrived at 9:20. He diagnosed both problems and gave me a price range and explained that it would be preferable to repair than replace in this case for both appliances. I agreed and by 10:20 he was leaving after engaging in pleasant conversation. Both appliances worked again and he gave me a receipt for a 3 month warranty. Excellent service and a friendly person.
