Located across from the GG post office. My check engine light came on and I needed new ignition coils. They towed my car for me and gave me a good deal on my car issue. They told me my serpentine belt was bad, and I let them know that they replaced it 3 months ago and they replaced it without charge. They also noticed that my radiator cap was bad and replaced it without charge for me as well. Definitely will keep coming back. read more

Paul is the best! He fix my S2000 AC problem replaced the ac compressor idler pulley etc he got the best price! I did not have to pay the tax which will cost me more.. he explained to me what went wrong he even showed me the parts that he replaced.. we will be going here when our car needs repairs.. now my dads Rav4 has a vibration so we know where to go APT AUTOMOTIVE!! Finally found a body shop where I feel safe, knowing that I'm getting a fair deal with good service from guys who know what they're doing. I don't trust just anybody with my Civic. Just came in this week to get my front brakes replaced and a new serpentine belt. Called around a few shops at first, and ended up here since they had the best rates for parts and labor. When I came to pick up my car (same day), turned out that Paul even threw in a free oil change. Yes! One thing I would say is that the shop was real small and kind of hard to find, near the back of the lot. It was right across from the post office, but it could have been confusing since there were so many other body shops in the area. read more

I had to take my RAV4 in for service because the message indicated service needed. Paul took the car for a drive test and informed me that my front brakes need to be replaced and an oil change also. I felt compelled to write a great review for Paul of APT Automotive today. I have taken my 2001 Honda Accord into APT the last couple of years due to a friend's recommendation and Paul and APT have never let me down. Prior to going to APT, I had taken my cars to a different mechanic, Firestone and Valvoline & Jiffy Lube for oil changes. Why I started going to Paul and why I keep coming back is that this guy is SMART and a truly great troubleshooter! On top of that, they give good pricing, are honest about how long it will take to fix and offer darn good customer service. For today's story and why I am writing this review, I need to begin with why I came in. My wife uses this car and drives from HB to her work at LH everyday (roughly 20 miles). About 3 days ago, she calls me and tells me that the "check engine light flashed on". I thought she was talking about the "maintenance required light" for the oil change so I said, "ok, we will get an oil change in the next couple of days." Yesterday, we found a Groupon for Vavoline for $24 for the conventional oil so we took it into them. They do their thing and then tell me that the oil is leaking. This is the thing that I hate the most about taking my car to Valvoline or Jiffy Lube. If it wasn't leaking before taking it to them, it always seems like it is leaking after they do the oil change. Afterwards, the Valvoline says that they will reset the indicator and it was the "maintenance required light" not the "check engine light" so I knew I had made a mistake taking it to them. First, that they didn't know what to do about the check engine light but they also made the oil leak. They were trying to sell me on a list of manufacturers suggested repairs too, which I can't stand but I know they make their money on "up-selling". My wife called Paul this morning (Saturday) and they were opened at 8am which was really cool! He asked us to bring it in so they can figure out what the check engine light was about. Again, we live in Huntington Beach so it is a bit of a drive to get to Garden Grove but trust me, the drive was worth it! I tell Paul about my taking it to Valvoline and thinking it was for an oil change and then the oil leaking. He checks the oil fluid for me, checks the transmission fluid and tells me to make sure that it is clear & translucent. I said, "ok". He puts the car up so he can see the problem and said that they had not cleaned the drip after they changed the oil filter. This makes it hard for them to determine if it is an actual oil leak or just residual from the oil filter. He offers to change the oil filter without me asking him and on top of that, he didn't charge me for swapping it out! That is what I call great customer service and why I appreciate this guy. Next, he put the computer on the car to fix the "check engine light". He reads that it is some code for "evap" something related to the back of the car and more towards a leak for a smog check issue. He said it has nothing to do with the engine which was a relief. He explained to me that it could of come from my not twisting the gas cap on "3 twists" which could have caused the check engine light to come on. He reset the sensor and told me to keep an eye on it to see if it reappears and then we can look for the leak. At the end of the day, he took care of my concerns and left me a happy customer. I would feel remiss if I didn't mention that they rebuilt our transmission on our last visit and it has made the car run "like brand new"! All in all, Paul and APT have been great to us and we feel very confident to recommend them to any of our friends and family. Thanks for taking the time to read this post. Not one to write reviews, but the service and quality work of APT automotive was exceptional. There are quite a few automotive shops on this strip of Stanford, so of course I browsed around to see where I could get the best deal. I don't know anything about cars, so I needed to get price comparisons before I handed my C300 off to a stranger .. My check-engine light had been on for a few days before I had time to take it out to the shops. I also had a small road trip planned for the following week, so I wanted to make sure everything was in good and working condition. When I told the guys at APT automotive, they assured me they would take care of my car. They changed my oil, checked all the fluids, and saw that my tire pressure was a bit off (which they adjusted, of course). They only charged an affordable price for my oil change (a lot cheaper than Mercedes-Benz dealerships!!!). Definitely will be coming back for major maintenance on my car. They don't charge for unnecessary work and will go out of their way to make sure your car is a-okay! read more

Awesome and quick service. My dad and I needed help replacing the brake light switch on my 2005 Toyota Camry. We walked in and spoke to the manager and he saw my car right away. It took only a few minutes for him to install the part. Best part, he only charged us $10 for labor! The shop at the corner wanted $30 AND told us to make an appointment for tomorrow since they were technically closed. It wasn't until we left that we realized Paul stayed after closing to help us. The shop closes at 5:30 pm and we had walked into his shop at 5:45 pm. I'm very grateful he was willing to stay after hours. Well I have my own auto detailing and pressure washing business but being the beginning of the season I was a little short on cash. My rear differential gave out, really loud clicking sound, it was horrible!! I spoke with a few shops on Yelp and a referral from a friend, they all gave me high estimates. I came across APT auto and spoke with Paul he said bring it in and let me take it apart and then I can give you a better idea of what it's going to cost. He made me feel at ease with the process. His estimate or guess was a bit lower than the other shops BTW, anyway long story short it came out to about 200 bucks less than his guess!!! WOW! What a find. Paul is knowledgeable, honest, respectful and fair with his prices. Paul is a Superb mechanic. The work I've had done in the last 3 months has been; replaced rotator, front & rear brakes, tire bearings left front tire and an oil change. My 2008 van feels brand new. The waiting room is clean and peaceful. I live 25 miles away but I'm NEVER taking my car to anyone else.
